Date on Static Field (good for header page fragment)

Steps to follow:
- create a StaticTextField
- create a SessionBean string property
- place this code inside SessionBean, see sample below

    }- write the following value inside the StaticText-Property-Text

This can be done by, for example, adding a button to be used by your estimator that sets the designated fields to read only.

Using Objects to Initialize Static Fields: Good or Bad

I have a Command interface and a bunch of Commands that implement it (i.e. CmdJoin,CmdQuit). These Commands' settings change at runtime (i.e. required access levels, String identifiers). I don't want to have to store an instance of each Command in a database to save their settings , so instead I'm using the obvious solution: making static fields in these commands for these settings. This way, I can use a Simple Factory to return a Command, change its settings, execute it, and forget it, and still have the settings for that Command apply to all Commands. Yet I want to be able to modify and access fields of different Commands polymorphically. How can I have these commands' settings-related fields be static while modifying and accessing these fields polymorphically?
Here's what I have though of. First of all, interfaces can't have static methods. Secondly, neither can abstract classes. I also can't extend a base class which implements these settings-related fields and their interface, because then the fields would belong to all child classes of this base class, whereas I just want it to belong to a certain child class of the base class (i.e. all instances of CmdJoin or CmdQuit).
I've thought of two solutions.
The first is implementing a concrete interface in an abstract base class (getting rid of the Command interface) and overriding it in child classes, so that I can use the interface of the base class and the fields of the child classes.
The second is having no base class, and just a bunch of Commands implementing the interface with their own static fields. I would initialize these fields by passing arguments to their constructors.
These solutions seem very sloppy though! Are there any better ways?

To clarify, I want all objects of type A to be able to respond to a static method declared in type A yet still remember their implementation of this static method. I provided two solutions that I have thought of, and I find them sloppy, so I'm asking if there's a better way.

Baseline Date to commence from date of receipt of Goods for AP

Dear Forum,
Presently we have set the Payment Terms in a manner such that the Baseline Date gets recognised from the Document Date, which corresponds to the date of supplier's invoice. However, in some cases the goods arrive much before the Invoice is issued by the Supplier. The question is in such cases users want that the baseline date should correspond to the date of receipt goods which is prior to the date of supplier's invoice. How to handle this ? Is there a way that we can link the baseline date to the date of receipt of goods?

Static field changes for both instances

Whenever I construct a new object with a static field or use a set method on any of the instances of that object, the static field will change to the last modification made. In the case of my program, whenever the static String color field is changed to the last modification made. This only happens with the static fields, the other fields work just fine.
Why does this problem occur?

Sorry, I can't understand the question. If you have lots of different objects, all of the same class, they all share one copy of the static field, so if you invoke a method that changes the static field on one instance, all the other instances will see that change.
if you don't want this behaviour, don't make the field static; then each instance will have its own copy of the field.

Can 'Available section' in Field layout for account page layout renamed ?

I have created custom page layout for 'Account ' where in I have added some custom fields for capturing more specific data of account.
I would like create 'Account installed data' simillar headers available as 'Key Account Information:','Account Sales Information' in account page layout.Is there any possibility of renaming 'Available section'?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Influencing fields for Description field on order header

I had made a settings under IMG section -
PM/CS-> Maintenance and Service Processing>Maintenance and Service Orders
->Define Field Selection for Order Header Data (PM)>Define Field Selection for Order Header Data (PM)---> Modifiable field "Description" i have maintained as REQ and under influencing fields have mentioned few orders type and maintained REQ and one entry automatically is maintained as Input. Other influencing fields are Input mode
Now wen I create any order type the field is mandatory irrespective of order type.I want to limit it to only few order types..Please let me know how to do this...

1. Change the "Description" field to input only
2.Click on "Influencing"
3.Double Click on "Order Type"
4.Enter your required order type
5.Change the description field to required on the same screen

How to use same page fragment more than once in a page,

Hi Gurus,
How to use same page fragment more than once in a page. I have a complex page fragment which has lots of Bindings (Binding Property set with backingBean variables).
I want to use the same page fragment multiple times on the same page with different tabs.
I want different ApplicationModule Instance for the page fragment in different tabs.
So I have created a Bounded Taskflow with pagefragments which has this complex pagefragment.
I've dragged the taskflow to page and created regions.
I'm able to execute the page successfully when I have only one region but fails if I have region more than once in the page.
Can anyone help me how to resolve this issue.
Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application Development Framework: section 19-2 states we can have same pagefragment more than once in a page.

I am having an issue trying to figure out the correct way to use control flow cases between a bounded-task-flow with page fragments and an unbounded-task-flow page. We have taken the approach in our application to have a few shell / container pages to host bounded-task-flows made up of page fragments to facilitate re-usability and to speed up development. There are 4 or 5 shell pages on the applications unbounded-task-flow. As of now, we have about 20 page fragments that are implemented as bounded-task-flows. These fragments don't do much now, meaning there is only a single fragment in each bounded-task-flow. The issue I am having is trying to invoke a control flow navigation action from one of the fragments to load a different shell page.
For Example, shellPage1.jspx contains fragment-flow-1 as a region. In my adfc-config.xml I have shellPage1.jspx and shellPage2.jspx, with control flow cases "toShell1" and "toShell2" respectively connecting the two pages. I have a link's action bound to the "toShell2" within the fragment that makes up fragment-flow-1. When the application is run, shellPage1.jspx and its fragment are displayed. But clicking on the link in the fragment ("toShell2") does absolutely nothing. It does not navigate me to the shellPage2.jspx as expected. What am I doing wrong here or do not understand?
If the fragment is included as a JSP include, and not a bounded task flow include, everything works as expected. This is not desirable as we then need to copy the fragment's pageDef into the shellPage's pageDef to get the DataControls to function.
If the faces-config.xml is used instead, and a JSF navigation case is used, it will also work as expected. This is not desirable because we really don't want to be mixing adcf-config and faces-config.

Hi there:
In your case, the adfc-config.xml has the control flow case between shell pages. And the task-flow-N.xml or your-task-flow.xml for each page fragment by default doesn't inherit control flow case from their containing shell page. In your case, in the page fragment task-flow.xml, you should add a "Parent Action" to flow to shell page2 for example. The outcome of "Parent Action" would be "toShell2" if calling from ShellPage1 page fragment.

Access page fragment from a page or vice versa

How can you access (get and set) the components of page fragment from a page?
I have a page fragment with a drop down box, which is shared across many pages. Now the value of the drop down list (in the page fragment) needs to changed based on the table columns of the page. I can easily do that if the drop down is on the same page as the table component, but I can't figure out how to do this if drop down is on a page fragment and the table is on a page. In other words, how do we make the page "see" its page fragment programmatically or vice versa? When you use this.xxxx, you only get access to page components and it does not include the comonents of the page fragmant which is embedded in the page.

What happens if a user were to have multiple browser windows open under the same session?
Let's say I had a header like this example and I disabled some of the links on given pages. If a user had 2 pages open, and both has an instance of this header page fragment being rendered, which page's header would have its link disabled? Would it be both or would it somehow know to only affect the fragment within the page that's calling .disabled(true)?

How do I populate my date fields placed on Master Page for multiple pages?

I have a dynamic form with flowing fields. I inserted date fields using the Master Pages tab within Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2, Windows 7 OS. I have only 1 Master Page. Everything on the form is working properly, except when I have multiple pages, the date fields are blank on all but the first page. One of the date fields has javascript in the exit event to calculate the second date field. I can manually edit the subsequent page(s) date fields, but I don't want the end user to have to do that. I want the date fields on the new pages to equal the date fields on the first pages. Below is my output with notes to provide a visualization of what I'm looking for.

Yes, both date fields are on the Master Page. The first one is set to "User entered - Required" and the second to "Calculated - User Can Override"
And that's right, I used your script to calculate the second date field. The only thing I changed was the field name, and used 6 days instead since I wanted the calendar days to only run a full week, like start on a Monday and end on Sunday.

Page header plus page footer too large for the page in crystal report 2008.

Hi,
when we selecting pieview and print after entering paramter it's showing error: page header plus page footer too large for the page. error in File.rpt page header or page footer loanger than page. and it's not showing print layout format if i connect another printer it's showing layout designe. and some times it's showing letter formate and if i give print it's taking default lamdscape but we setup defual setup for printer 10*12 inches in particular printer.please guide me how we can solve this issues.

This is a really hard post to read. See if you can take a bit of time to reword it, but one thing I do understand is that you are getting this error:
page header plus page footer too large for the page.
Typically, you can trust that if the error is thrown, it is true. E.g.; this is not one of those errors that says one thing, and means another. I suspect that you have some field(s) in the header(s) that grow, depending on the data. If there is too much data or the data is too long ( a text for example), the error will be thrown. To resolve this, see if placing the field(s) into a group footer / header will help.

XMLPub 5.6.3: Data fields missing in Header/Footer

Hello,
I am having a problem with an RTF template, where the data fields in the
template Header or Footer that should display data do not appear at all, while
the fixed text that is in the Header/Footer is shown.
This template is built with the start:body/end body syntax to separate
the fields that belong to the Header/Footer from the body of the report. The
body has a for-each@section that works fine and a split-by-page-break at the
end, after the Footer fields.
I played a little bit with the template and I found out, that:
- if I change my template not to use the start:body/end body syntax, but I use
the Header/Footer Word functionality with the explicit field names specified in
the header or footer, the data fields will not be displayed;
- if I remove the for-each@section, the data fields in the Header (before the
start:body) and in the Footer (after the end body) are displayed correctly;
- if I duplicate in my XML file one of the elements that are in the Header and I put it
in the child group that is displayed in the repeating section and I add another data
field in that section, it will display both in the Header and in the repeating section;
This very template works fine on an E-Biz instance at another customer site, but
only here it's showing this issue.
It also looks like a different problem than the one caused by the Microsoft
security update. In fact, I cannot not find any "/headerr" or "/ footerr"
strings in the template RTF. (Anyway, is there a patch for version 5.6.3?)
Can anybody shed some light on this strange issue? Any advice?
I am using XMLPub Desktop 5.6.3 and MS Word 2000 9.0.6926 SP-3.
If someone wants to have a look, I've prepared a small test example to show this weird behavior.

Please refer XMLP User Guide Chapter 9. You need to define data definitions and upload the data template to DataTemplate filed.
Create the Template Definition and upload your RTF Template.
Create a Report Definition in Concurrent Program/Manager and set the executable as XDODTEXE. make sure the program short name is the same as Data Definition.
Set the output type as XML and the OPP will pick your RTF Template.

Need to display a field for every page

Hi All.
I am trying to display a field <?job_no?> for every page of that job.
I mean if I select job no from 1 to 10. for Job number 1 the data can be printed in one page or several pages.
But i need to show this Job number( which we show with BARCODE font) in every page of that job.
This job is under G_JOB group. In general I used like below
<?for-each:G_JOB?>
<?job_no?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?...?>
<?end for-each?>
This is getting printed in first page only. If I put it in header, of RTF file, it is ok if I selected only one job number. But if I select for n number of jobs it is not geting displayed.
Please help.

<?end for-each?>The "start:body" makes everything before that a page header.

Added @section. This will reset the header region for each job.
