Date prompt for Answers report.

Hi,
I created a report in Answers. I created a prompt on a date field which shows when the Account was closed. I foramtted the date field into a custom date format and the results also display in that format. for ex: the format I created was DD-MMM-YY. When I create a prompt for this field the drop down values show as 4/24/2008 12:00:00 AM, But I want the drop down for the prompt to be displayed as the same format as the column i.e DD-MMM-YY. This is for just a regular report prompt (column filter prompt) and not any dashboard prompt. How can I acheive this? Thanks.

hi,
But the prompt displays DD/MM/YYYY. How can I make the prompt also display DD-MMM-YY? Also if I create a dashboard then how do I use the same prompt with DD-MM-YY formatIn both the report and prompt fx use the following syntax and make is prompted on report column "fx"
EVALUATE('TO_CHAR(%1,%2)' AS CHARACTER ( 30 ),Dim-Date.REPORT_DATE, 'DD-MON-YY')
Thanks,

  • Parameters for Answers report.

    Hi,
I am creating an Answers report. We need to give a date range as paramters. Do we have to use the column filter prompt for this or is there any other way we can create parameter range for this. Not on a dashboard but just an Answers report. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

What kind of parameter range? If it's fixed, but dynamic, you can use repository variables and a filter. Say you want to filter "last week Monday through Friday" and run the report in Answers any day this week. Use this SQL on your date column:
    BETWEEN TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY,-5,TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY,DAYOFWEEK(CURRENT_DATE)*-1, CURRENT_DATE)) AND TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY,-1,TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY,DAYOFWEEK(CURRENT_DATE)*-1, CURRENT_DATE))
You can modify the above to produce any date range, fixed, but dynamic, that you want.
If, however, you need the date range to be ad hoc and dynamic, you will need the column filter prompt (for Answers) or a dashboard prompt in a dashboard.

  • Single prompt for multiple reports in a webi doc

I have a webi document with three reports; each three has it's own query.
I want to apply a date prompt one each report; how do I create a prompt that could accept date value only once and apply on all three queries.
I tried to put the date prompt on each query separately and it prompts for all three; means I have to enter same date value three times.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Hi Ahmed,
BO differentiate prompts on the basis of its definition.
You must use the same prompt definition in all the three queries to display it once while asking for the user response:
    @Prompt('Text','A'\'D',{'Class\LOV Object'},mono\multi,free\constrained)
P.S.  you need to drag it separately in the 3 queries.

  • CRM 7.0 - Enhancement of Data Sources for interactive Reporting

    Hallo All,
I would like to know whether anybody has positive experience with the enhancement of CRM Data Sources for interactive Reporting. I read that the enhancement of Customer fields should be possible (Those Data Sources below the Hierarchy node /CRMBW/ROOT).
I have seen that the extract structure can be enhanced via RSA6 (as for other data sources).
    Questions:
    1. Which USEREXIT / BADI has to be used to fill the added fields?
    2. Does it work?
    Best regards

    Hi!
Those DS are not meant to be enhanced manually but only by one of the following two ways:
    1. Adding custom fields with the Application Enhancement Tool (AET) in the CRM UI.
    2. Adding SAP fields with the Interactive Reporting Enhancement Workbench (IREW).
The AET is available since CRM 7.0. Please find more details in the SAP Help Portal:

  • Financial Reporting: One prompt for all reports in a book

I want to prompt once for all reports in the book for year and month. Right now it prompts for each report. I see that you can select to "respond at book level" but I don't know if that will solve the problem and I can't see how to make that drop down appear.
Books points of view are set to User POV for year and month now. When I try to edit the memebr selection I see member names, sub var and User POV but no prompt choice.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Date Prompt (for summary by date report)

    hi there,
i just created this report to view the distribution of stocks by range of dates. I created 2 parameter fields start and end date and threw them in the report. But now i am stuck as when i upload the report with salesforce.com online i dont get a prompt to select the dates.
any solution for this? thanks guys.
    Ankur

Make sure the "Save data with report" option is turned off and then upload the report to crystalreports.com and it should prompt for the parameters as soon as you open the report.  Otherwise, it just loads the report with the saved data and no prompt.  Hopefully not too late to be useful.

  • How to Dynamically Select the Data File for a Report at Print Time

How do you configure a Crystal report to ask for the file to be reported on as the report is being printed, and allow the user to browse to the file?
The environment is Crystal Reports XI, SP3, with ODBC connection to Sage Timberline Office data version 9.7.  The client names their Payroll unposted time file each pay period, and also needs to report on their posted data file, depending on the time period for the report.  The client will need to select both the date range and the file name.
I have created a SQL statement in Add Command in Database Expert, which prompts for a file name, but it does not let you browse to select a file on the computer.
Therefore, in the prompts when they print the report, the parameter offers the user a default file name similar to the name they currently use, so they only have to change the payroll period end date in the supplied file name to run the report successfully.
The client is concerned that sometimes a user will name their data file differently, and not know how to input the file name into the Crystal report prompt at print time.
My research on dynamic prompts showed you can link to fields inside the data record, but I did not see a way to dynamically link to select the actual files used in the report.
Another question is that the naming convention used by the SQL query is different than the basic Windows file name, but I think I can handle that issue.
The actual file name is typically similar to:
    04-10-11 BP NEW.PRT
However, in the SQL query, the record ID looks like:
    PRT_00-00-00 BP NEW__TIME
The SQL Statement using a parameter is:
    SELECT
    "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Employee",
    "EMPLOYEE1"."Employee_Name",
    "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Date",
    "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Units",
    "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Job",
    "JOB1"."BP_Emps_Used"
    FROM
    "PRT_CURRENT__TIME" AS "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"
    INNER JOIN "JCM_MASTER__JOB" AS "JOB1"
    ON "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Job"="JOB1"."Job"
    INNER JOIN "PRM_MASTER__EMPLOYEE" AS "EMPLOYEE1"
    ON "PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Employee"="EMPLOYEE1"."Employee"
    WHERE "JOB1"."BP_Emps_Used" = 1
    AND
    ("PRT_CURRENT__TIME"."Date" BETWEEN
    {?As of Date} - 41 AND {?As of Date})
    UNION ALL
    ( SELECT
    "PRT_NEW__TIME"."Employee",
    "EMPLOYEE2"."Employee_Name",
    "PRT_NEW__TIME"."Date",
    "PRT_NEW__TIME"."Units",
    "PRT_NEW__TIME"."Job",
    "JOB2"."BP_Emps_Used"
    FROM
    "{?NEWPRT}" AS "PRT_NEW__TIME"
    INNER JOIN "JCM_MASTER__JOB" AS "JOB2"
    ON "PRT_NEW__TIME"."Job"="JOB2"."Job"
    INNER JOIN "PRM_MASTER__EMPLOYEE" AS "EMPLOYEE2"
    ON "PRT_NEW__TIME"."Employee"="EMPLOYEE2"."Employee"
    WHERE "JOB2"."BP_Emps_Used" = 1
    AND
    ("PRT_NEW__TIME"."Date" BETWEEN

    Hello,
Sorry you'll have to contact Sage on how to do this. We can help you once you get connected but we can't help you get around their connection methods.
There is no Preview Set Database Connection method you can use in CR Designer. The Designer assumes you select it first or use the Set Location option before previewing or refreshing the data.
If you are doing this in the Sage program itself we can't help you, you'll have to contact Sage for assistance.
Sage is an OEM Partner they are responsible for supporting their product and CR. If they have issues help you then they will contact us directly for assistance.
    Thank you

  • Universe as data source for Crystal Reports

Are there any issues in using a Universe as the data source for a crystal reports?  We are using Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 and Crystal Reports XI R2.
Thanks in advance for your response,
    Garet Wicker

    Hi,
We can have a parameter from a Universe, following are the steps which will create the report which is based a Universe with a parameter.
-connect to the universe and you will a Query Panel.
-drag some objects in the Result Objects field. Ex. Country, Revenue.
-then drag an object in the Query Filter. Ex. Country.
-then a new window will appear as Filter Editor.
-Select the prompt option and also select the check box as u201CSelect only from listu201D.
    -Click on Ok.
When you refresh the report then there will be a parameter prompting for the Country field. Also you will see a parameter created automatically in the parameter list.
However if you try to create a new parameter (without modifying anything from the query panel) by with the following workflow then there is no option to select the field for the parameter.
-Right click on Parameter fieldsu2014New parameter.
-When you click on the drop down list in the u201CValue Fieldu201D list there are no available fields/objects.
Hence we can create a parameter in CR which is connected to the Universe with the steps mentioned above.
    I hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Prashant.

  • Bypass a prompt for broadcasted reports-designer only

    Dear All,
I'm having a little question concerning @prompt, as I used it in WHERE clause
to force users to choose only dimension value at a time ('mono' option) to lower
    down number of datas.
But as reports designer I'd like to bypass this prompt .. is-it possible through
standard option ? or should I implement a technical trick like create 'ALL' in lov
and make this value available only for designer?
I noticed an optional value user:0 in @prompt syntax but coulnd find any documentation
related to this, does anybody know how to use it ?
    Thanks for your help,
    Rgds,
    Nicolas

By bypassing the prompt do you mean that the users should not be prompted to enter values in the prompt rather it should pick up a default value and generate the report on the basis of that.
There is no such way in Designer to bypass a prompt. We can add ALL in the LOVs of the object but still user's will be prompted for the value, here they can select ALL from the LOVs. You can also specify to Keep the Last Values Selected in the prompt. Hence everytime the report the prompt will appear with the Last Value that was passed. You can either change it if you want or can refresh the report with the same value.
To achieve this you can use "Persistent" parameter.
This parameter keeps the last entry in the prompt as the default value when reusing the prompt.
The syntax of @prompt then becomes:
    @prompt('prompt','Data Type','LOV',Mono or Multi,Free or Constrained,Persistent or Not_Persistent,,User:0)
Here the User:0 or User:1 is used to specify the order of prompts as they should appear in the report.
BO XI 3.0 also has a feature of "Optional Prompt". You can define a prompt as optional, hence its not mandataory for the user to enter a value in the prompt.
    I hope this should help.

  • Specifying a Date Range for Interactive Reports

    Hi All,
I'm currently working on Oracle Application Express 11. We have created an application with a standard reports page. On this page there are the following items:
    HTML Region 1: (Parameters)
    Start Date: (Date Picker)
    End Date: (Date Picker)
    Amount: (Displays Read-Only Amount)
    HTML Region 2: (Specify Report)
    Violation Reports (link 1)
    Correct Reports (link 2)
    Fault Reports (link 3)
    All Reports (link 4)
I would like to know if it's possible that I could enforce the following scenarios on a user:
If a user clicks a link without specifying a date range, then an error message is displayed prompting the user to specify Start Date & End Date.
If a user specifies a Start Date that is outside the table's date range, then an error message is displayed prompting the user to enter a valid Start Date. For instance, if the first ever date on the database table is 17/JUL/97 then if a user specifies 16/JUL/97 as his/her Start Date then an error message will be displayed prompting the user to specify a start date from 17/JUL/97 onwards.
    Is this possible? Please advice!
    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
    Kamo

    Hi Kamo,
In order for the dates to be used on the reports (which is what I assume you are trying to do?), the user must submit the page to get the dates into the session. Given that, you could have Validation on your page that checks the criteria you need when the page is submitted. You could also have your Region 2 conditional on the dates not being NULL - that way, the user can not click on a link until both dates have been entered and submitted.

  • Date Prompt result in Report Header

    Hi,
I am hoping someone can help, I am just getting started with BI but already thinking what I need is not possible. I hope someone can prove otherwise.
I have a dashboard with several reports that when printed goes across 3-5 pages. There is a date prompt that is used to select the business date for which I want the data to show. What I need to show is the date of the data in the report header for every page that the report runs too.
    I have set the result of the date prompt to set a presentation variable and have set the report header to show @{rptDate}. This works when on the dashboard, although shows TIMESTAMP '2011-09-01' which I would like formatted as 1 September 2011, but more importantly when printed to pdf it shows @{rptDate}
I have considered setting a report which just returns this date, or putting it in a report header, but that does not meet required formatting consistency, but also I then dont know how to repeat this at the top of multiple pages.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Simon

Thanks Deepak. I am using timecreated in the footer already but that is a different date. I require the ability to run the report for historic dates, and show the date the report contains, rather than the date it was run. ie Report header shows 31/08/11 even if it was generated on 2/9/11.

  • Display date prompt in crystal report output

    Hi There,
In my report output the values entered in date prompt(range) is not displayed.
I've prompt  that is created on document created on field. The properties of prompt are
    Posting date...... date.........static values
    value field : ERDAT.....
    value options:
    optional prompt: false
    allow custom values: true
    allow multiple values : false
    allow discrete values: false
    allow range values: true

    Hi Raj,
I believe you're trying to display the start date and the end date of the date range parameter.
    Create a formula called 'start':
Minimum(?Postingdate) //This formula extracts the start date from the date parameter
Similarly, create another formula called 'end':
Maximum(?Postingdate) //This extracts the end date
Place these formulae on the desired report section.
P.S: You may even do this in a single formula.
    Hope this helps!

  • Date problem for a report (urgent)

    hi all ,
i am developing a report for asset aquisition of fi module.
in this my client has requirement like this-
    1. if i enter date in selection screen ie 31.03 2006 or less than that
then i should get all the records from 01.04.2005 to the date which i have
entered in selction screen ie might be 31.03.2006 or less than that.
      2. but if i enter date in selection screen any date more  than 31.03.2006
then i should get all the records from 01.04.2006 to the date which i have
        entered in selction screen .
ex- if i have entered 22.12.2006 then i should get record from
          01.04.2006 to 22.12.2006.
bcoz indian fiscal year starts from 1st april and ends at 31st march.
    so plz give the solution.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sanjeev

    hi mr reddy,
    thanks for the reply.
here i am sending my code just make the modification in it wherever
it is required, bcoz i m also using some date logic for it.
so i request u to modify my code and check it that wethere its working
    correctly after applying ur logic.
bcoz right now if i am entering any date  suppose 22.12.2006
then i am getting all the record from 01.04.2005 to 22.12.2006.
but it should display only from 01.04.2006 to 22.12.2006.
but ya one more thing i want to make it in ur notice that
if i have entered 31.03.2006 then it should show
    records from 01.04.2005 to 31.03.2006.
so both of my above requirement should fulfill out of which one i am alraedy getting.
check my code and do the modification as per ur logic.
