Date string import. Need professional opinion,

Hi all,
First of all let me say I have exhausted my options to figure
this out. I thought I would ask for some opinions here.
I have been ask to import some data from a dat file into our
CF server that has a Date/Time string that I am not familiar with.
Has anyone ever seen this format or worked with it and have any
idea how I can decipher it. Here is an example.
DTSTART:1175254200
DTEND:1175270400
This is what I know of the date/time above.
The DTSTART:1175254200 is March 30, 2007 7:30AM
I generated this myself is how I know.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

what you're describing is java epoch offset, unix uses
*seconds* which is what
this data appears to be.
this is fairly simple to handle:
<cfscript>
startEpoch=createdate(1970,1,1); // like it says
unixEpochOffset=1175254200; // seconds since epoch start
x=dateAdd("s",unixEpochOffset,startEpoch);
writeoutput(x);
</cfscript>

  • How can I get my safari 5.1.10 to download the java update so I won't continue to get notices that my browser is out of date and I need to download the update, which then won't download.  Cannot view anything in youtube or most other places.

    Jeez.  Trying to view items in youtube.  I keep getting a blacked out picture telling me my browser is out of date and I need to download the update.  I do that and then it doesn't connect so I'm back at square one.

    Hi MiMattheMac, you probably won't have any problems but just be aware upgrading from Snow Leopard to anything later is a big leap. Old, PowerPC - only programs won't work, for example, and even more recently developed programs won't work if their developers have not been updating them for recent OS X versions.
    If you haven't made a backup of your Mac yet, and you consider the information on it important, please consider doing that. It is the only practicable way to "undo" an OS X upgrade should you want to. Merely having a backup seems to preclude the need to ever use it.
    If the information on your Mac is not important to you, upgrading to Mavericks is even easier since you can completely erase the Mac first.
    In any event let the download complete.
    If this raises any concerns about installing it, and you need to ask questions to alleviate those concerns, you can just close this window when it eventually appears:
    The 5 GB downloaded file will not be deleted and will remain available until you actually install Mavericks. You can do that at any time convenient for you.

  • How do I find the frequency of numbers in a group of data strings?

    I have a set of data strings and I want to find the frequency of each number occuring in a data string. How do I do this?
    Here are the strings.
    28-29-43-51-53 7
    02-08-30-36-48 31
    09-10-27-36-42 11
    20-24-31-33-36 44
    16-29-48-52-54 5
    06-15-29-39-51 36
    01-16-18-25-27 3
    09-30-39-42-47 37

    The first part is to "break out" the values from your strings.  Columns B thru G take care of this:
    I assumed allvalues as 2 digits...
    B2=VALUE(MID($A2, 3*(COLUMN()-2)+1, 2))
    select B2 and fill to the right until column G
    then select B2 thru G2 and fill down as needed.
    For compactness of THIS presentation I added two additional columns for getting the Frequency... columns I and J.
    Column I contains an counting value and J contains the frquency of the corresponding value in I (of the same row).
    put a "1" in I2, a "2" in I3, then select both I1and I2, then grab (click and hold the little circle at the bottom right of the selection), and drag down until the value is the max number you expect (I assumed it was 99).
    J2=COUNTIF(B:G, "="&I2)
    select J2 and fill down

  • Reading a flattened LabVIEW data string from a CSV file in C#?

    We're recording a large amount of data into a CSV file to make it easily accessible from the C# end. I've a header with all the variable names then I write all the data (doubles) as flattened LabVIEW binary strings using flatten to string (little endian) to keep the size down. We are having issues converting these strings back to doubles on the C# end.
    At the C# end we can read the LabVIEW repesentation of the DBL but have tried the BitConverter.ToDouble library function to convert it without luck. We use this method to convert the same flattened data coming over a TCP connection without any problems. I'm not writing the C# part of the program and have little experience with it, but if anyone could shed some light, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Andrew

    It is all written as single values. It looks like we have found a method if we remove the header which contains the variable name as a string so the data is in a csv containing just the binary data strings. It looks like we'll go with this as the data will always be written in the same order so can be indexed by the C# program without the need for headers.
    Thanks.

  • Exclude DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs in DATA PUMP import

    Hello,
    I need to exclude all DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs during DATA PUMP import.
    I tried to do this with: EXCLUDE=JOB but this only works on DBMS_JOB.
    Is there a way to exclude all DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs during import?
    Kind Regards

    There are PROCOBJ that can be excluded (Procedural objects in the selected schemas) but I'm affraid it exclude not only DBMS_SCHEDULER jobs.
    Any ideas?

    Hi again,
    Several points that can help more:
    1. If you are working with Dot.Net, then I highly recommend read the first link that you got! This is nice and simple coding. Another option is this link which is even better in my opinion:
    http://www.dotnetgallery.com/kb/resource21-How-to-store-and-retrieve-images-from-SQL-server-database-using-aspnet.aspx
    2. As i mention above both link use the column's type image. There are several other option of working with Files. In most of my applications architecture I find that it is better to use a column which let us use any type of file and not an image column.
    In choosing the right column's type for your needs basically your fist question should be if if you want to store your data inside relational database environment or outside relational environment. It is a good idea to look for blogs on this issue. Next
    if you chose to store your data inside then you need to chose the right column type according to your server version. I highly recommend to look for blogs on the differences between those column's types: IMAGE,

  • What is a Token Data String and how do I create one?

    How do I create local server scripts? I have read Chapter 2, what is a data string, how do I 'create' one and how can I 'pass' this off Apple, iTunes, whoever needs it? Chapter 2 doesn't say.
    Gateway   Windows XP Pro   Military

    I suggest that you grab a copy of Chapter 4 of the Admin document. It explains a lot. You should also grab a copy of Apple's sample scripts (you get some C code, Java, Perl, Python, and a shell script). They will give you some idea of how this works. The scripts are downloadable frmo the iTunes U support page.
    Basically, the token string contains a credential that says what access you'd like to have in iTunes U (you are an "Admin" user or a "Student" or an "Instructor" say). The credential encodes what you can view/edit in a standard way. The credential also includes some optional info (like your identity, e-mail address ... a "user identifier" which is typically a number ... say if you identify users by numbers and names ... and other stuff). You then slap on a timestamp on the credential and cryptographically encode it with that shared secret Apple sent you (when I say "you," I mean that funky CGI you've written ... your CGI does all the encoding). When you're done with the token string, you slap it on the end of a site URL (again, this is something Apple sent you) and send it to Apple. This way, you ('er, your CGI) does all the authentication for Apple (because you know how to authenticate your users better than Apple ever will).
    I confess I had to read Apple's documents, oh, like twenty times before I figured all this stuff out. Once you get it though, it will seem like a pretty cool system.

  • Make Data Merge import certain page of pdf or indesign document

    I don't know if it is possible but can you make Data Merge import certain page of pdf or indesign document, this would be great addition for indesign

    Here are a couple of questions that might help understand what might need to be done to achieve your request:
    * How do you propose to identify the desired page(s) within a PDF and an ID document, so the merge field placeholder knows how to find it?
    * How do you propose to keep track of the page if they're re-ordered in an updated document?
    * What if the identification marker is within text and flows to a different page - would you want to retrieve the original page (before the reflow) or the new page to which the marker would have flowed?
    Perhaps the scripters could comment on the possibility of scripting these.

  • Validation For Date,String and Date in a reports Region

    Apex 4
    Good day to all apex users How do I validate a apex_item.text if the value is string the user can only input a string value if it is number then the user can input numbers only and if it is a date the user can only input a date values?

    APEX_ITEMS are not part of the default apex gui... In fact they are just functions which returns html.
    You can however do some stuff with the attributes parameters. You can find some cool stuff over here: Re: Validation For Date,String and Date in a reports Region
    If you want apex validation you need to create a page validation and loop over your apex_items with apex_application.g_f0x

  • Parsing a date string

    I need to parse a bunch of date strings in 'UTCG' format (whatever that really means).
    They all look like:
    1 Jan 2001 00:00:00.00
    I can't figure out which of the Java date formats parse this. I've tried many varients of:
    DateFormat.getTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM,Locale.GERMANY)
    without success.
    Help!!!!

    Here is a bit of info from the API doc - notice in the first paragraph it talks about the Date object, format seems similar. At the bottom of info is the Short, Long, etc, format tyoes, check those out... - Bart
    public abstract class DateFormat
    extends Format
    DateFormat is an abstract class for date/time formatting subclasses which formats and parses dates or time in a language-independent manner. The date/time formatting subclass, such as SimpleDateFormat, allows for formatting (i.e., date -> text), parsing (text -> date), and normalization. The date is represented as a Date object or as the milliseconds since January 1, 1970, 00:00:00 GMT.
    DateFormat provides many class methods for obtaining default date/time formatters based on the default or a given locale and a number of formatting styles. The formatting styles include FULL, LONG, MEDIUM, and SHORT. More detail and examples of using these styles are provided in the method descriptions.
    DateFormat helps you to format and parse dates for any locale. Your code can be completely independent of the locale conventions for months, days of the week, or even the calendar format: lunar vs. solar.
    To format a date for the current Locale, use one of the static factory methods:
    myString = DateFormat.getDateInstance().format(myDate);
    If you are formatting multiple dates, it is more efficient to get the format and use it multiple times so that the system doesn't have to fetch the information about the local language and country conventions multiple times.
    DateFormat df = DateFormat.getDateInstance();
    for (int i = 0; i < a.length; ++i) {
    output.println(df.format(myDate) + "; ");
    To format a date for a different Locale, specify it in the call to getDateInstance().
    DateFormat df = DateFormat.getDateInstance(DateFormat.LONG, Locale.FRANCE);
    You can use a DateFormat to parse also.
    myDate = df.parse(myString);
    Use getDateInstance to get the normal date format for that country. There are other static factory methods available. Use getTimeInstance to get the time format for that country. Use getDateTimeInstance to get a date and time format. You can pass in different options to these factory methods to control the length of the result; from SHORT to MEDIUM to LONG to FULL. The exact result depends on the locale, but generally:
    SHORT is completely numeric, such as 12.13.52 or 3:30pm
    MEDIUM is longer, such as Jan 12, 1952
    LONG is longer, such as January 12, 1952 or 3:30:32pm
    FULL is pretty completely specified, such as Tuesday, April 12, 1952 AD or 3:30:42pm PST.

  • Date of import vs date camera thinks it is

    I imported a huge group of pics using my daughters old digital camera that can't seem to keep dates straight.
    I then went and took just a few more and imported them. Turns out The camera thinks it's 2007.
    I was able to find and rename the pics with last import but I've spent hours trying to find the other batch. I can't find them .
    The library is 27,000 pics. While searching I noticed many , many pictures with the wrong date. This whole date process is wrong.
    I need to know date of import. Is there any way to doe this ?
    I have an older version of iPhoto but if the new version has a way to find photos by date I'll get it.
    thanks f

    I then went and took just a few more and imported them. Turns out The camera thinks it's 2007.
    Any digital camera should have a menu where you can adjust the date. Only the date may get reset to default, if the camera battery is empty for a long time. Then you need to reset it in the camera after recharging the camera.
    I have an older version of iPhoto
    Which version exactly?
    Probably your version also has a mode to sort the photos by date from the view menu:
    If sorting by date does not help, try a smart album: File > New > Smart album
    My examples are from iPhoto 9.5.1.
    --Léonie
    P.S. You can correct the dates after import with Photos > Adjust Date and Time

  • About Oracle 10g Data export/import

    I have two DBs, let's call them AProd, BAcpt.
    all tables/procedures/sequences etc. are defined same, only schema names are different, and the role names are different (e.g. In AProd, role 1 named as AProd_ROLE1, but corresponding role in BAcpt is named as BAcpt_ROLE1).
    In order to use Aprod data to refresh BAcpt, in OEM, I established a DB link from BAcpt to Aprod and planned to use "Import from Database" option.
    Option 1: By selecting "Schema" -> "Data Only", Import content type =" Import all objects", I am able to refresh BAcpt's tables with AProd's data, however, I can't refresh Sequences, especially the last_number of the sequences.
    Option 2: By selecting " Schema" -> "All", Import content type =" Import all objects", I am afraid this will overrite all the roles/privs of BAcpt, and I have to run scripts to recreate BAcpt's roles, and grant those roles to users again...
    Is there any better solution for this request?
    Thanks,

    Thank you first.
    I did drop and recreate on target DB using source DB's sequences. Extending the original question a bit, if the sequence doesn't exist on target, I guess Option 1 won't bring over the new sequence/procedures from source DB either, correct?
    Also for Option 1, It seems the Index also be updated........... Any document I can refer for details? I thought after import data, I need to "rebuild Index online" ... will it still be true ?
    Thank you for any answers:-)

  • SQL - transform a date string

    Hello,
    I have scenario where I need to transform a date string in SQL (from "yyyy-mm-dd" to "dd/mm/yyyy"):
    E.g My table EMPTABLE looks like this
    EMPNO STARTDATE(string)
    1111 2000-11-30
    2222 1998-01-22
    I need an output of
    EMPNO STARTDATE(string)
    1111 30/11/2000
    2222 22/01/1998
    I know that we can user "to_date" and "to_char" functions to do that. The query would look like:
    SELECT EMPNO as EMPNO, to_char(to_date(STARTDATE,'yyyy-mm-dd'),'mm/yy/dddd') as STARTDATE from EMPTABLE;
    Are there any other ways to achive this? Like just using string manipulation.
    Why I'm asking with the above query if there is any data discrepancy (e.g for one record the month value is 25 by mistake), the query fails.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
    A lot of folks store dates in DATE columns; then it just takes one TO_CHAR call to get them in any format, and invalid data is impossible.
    You can use SUBSTR to extact parts of the string, and || to re-assemble them in a different order.
    Starting in Oracle 10, you can also use regular expressions, like this:
    ,     REGEXP_REPLACE ( startdate
                            , '([0-9]{4})-'     ||     -- \1 = year
                                  '([0-9]{2})-'     ||     -- \2 = month
                       '([0-9]{2})'          -- \3 = day
                            , '\3/\2/\1'
                            )          AS startdate_dmyIf startdate does not contain the pattern (4 digits, hyphen, 2 digits, hyphen, 2 digits), the the expression above will return startdate unchanged.

  • Converting date strings

    I have a date string in the format "14/11/2003 16:13:56" and I need to convert it to another string in format "2003-14-11" how can I do it?
    I've tried the DateFormat and SimpleDateFormat classes but I can't manage to make it work.
    Thanks in advance.

    thanks TimTheEnchantor, that worked fine.
    Here's the code in case someone else needs it:
            String date="05/11/2003 15:22:19";
            Date convDate;
            SimpleDateFormat formatterIn;
            SimpleDateFormat formatterOut;
            try {
            formatterIn = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss");
            convDate=formatterIn.parse(date);
            formatterOut = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-dd-MM");
            date=formatterOut.format(convDate);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                date = "";
            }
