Date/time display format

Hello,
I was wondering how I can change the display format of dates and times in Lightroom.
It is now in US format (mm/dd/yy, AM/PM), but I prefer the European dd-mm-yyyy 24h format.
Can't seem to find it in any of the preference or settings menus.
Cheers,
Marinoz

Where are you meaning for the display?
I get this with the Info display

  • How do you vary the Date/Time stamp format in File Adapters

    In the receiver channel of the File Adapter where you specify the 'File Name Scheme', you do have the option of specifying a 'File Construction Mode' of 'Add Time Stamp'.  How can you specify a different Date/Time stamp format ( eg MM/DD/YY vs YYYYMMDD vs MMDDYY, etc. ) without changing the Date/Time stamp for the entire SAP system?  Also, can you control where the Date/Time stamp appears in the filename?

    Hi,
    There are many threads discussing the same issue. Go thro the following:
    Dynamic file name (Date) in Receiver File Adapter
    Receiver File Adapter - TimeStamp
    Bhavesh's reply in above thread:
    You can use Adapter Specific Identifiers and then change the file name in the mapping. Append the tiem stamp in the format that you want and so on.
    Just use this code in an UDF,
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
    String SourceFileName = conf.get(key);
    java.text.SimpleDateFormat dateformat = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat( "yyyyMMdd" );
    dateformat.format( new java.util.Date() );
    String newfilename=SourceFileName+dateformat;
    // change to new file name
    conf.put(key, newfilename);
    return "";

  • Date/Time field format not wysiwyg

    I have a date field in my form that I formatted as m/d/yyyy hh:mm.  I thought that because it formats that field in that way my script would get passed down that way however it is not.  I want to manipulate it so the value is in the format I want it to be....
    I enter this in the date/time field: April 1, 2011 1:40PM
    When I click out of the field and I see: 4/1/2011 13:40
    Then I have a script that uses this field to make the file name but because I have a comma in there it will not save, if I take the comma out it will save.  So the main question is how do I format my field to pass down the value that I am seeing not the value that I am typing in.  You will notice I have a replace in there but I can't account for the comma because it reads it as part of the syntax.
    // Get the field value
    var dtentered = getField("datetime").value;
    //replace any odd characters that will not allow the file to save
    var fdt = dtentered.replace(/[!@#$%^&*()+=|\:;"'<>?/{}]/g,"_");
    // Specify the folder
    var fldr = "/c/WO Completed/";
    // Determine the full name and path
    var fp = fldr +  fdt + ".pdf";

    Thanks for the response...I'm not sure that I understand what you mean back-slash...I went ahead and did this but now it is giving me an odd file name
    // Get the field value
    var dt = getField("datetime").value;
    var mydt = escape(dt);
    //replace any odd characters that will not allow the file to save
    var fdt = mydt.replace(/[!@#$%^&*()+=|\:;"'<>?/{}]/g,"_");
    // Specify the folder
    var fldr = "/c/WO Completed/";
    // Determine the full name and path
    var fp = fldr + fdt + ".pdf";
    Returns a file name as

  • Random date & time displayed at Mixx10 boot up

    Has anyone else experienced random time & date displayed at boot up by a MiiX 10 Win 8.1 tablet??  Whilst not a great problem as one can always reset things before proceeding, it is a nuisance.  I always do a Shut down so, it is not something concerned with emerging from sleep!  A fault like this is so disappointing as in other respects it is a great little machine, superb screen and I like the keyboard/folder. Note that, as far as I know, I have the latest BIOS installed and Win 8.1 is as up-to-date as I can make it.   Any thoughts from fellow users??

    When you shut down, you need to UNCHECK (not check like rkaufmann87 suggests) that popup window.
    If items launch at start there is multiple places you can go to clear these out.
    Apple -> System Preferences -> Users & Groups (or Accounts on 10.6 and earlier) and select the 'Login Items' tab at the top middle, click each item's name and press the minus icon and make sure that window is empty, not just checking/unchecking the item names.
    Open Finder -> Go (top middle/left of screen) -> Hold down ALT (this will show 'Library' inbetween 'Home' and 'Computer') -> Click 'Library'
    Once in your user library, double click the 'Caches' folder to take you inside. (Make sure your inside the folder by looking at the top middle of the finder window and it should say 'Caches' NOT 'Library') then hold down CMD and press A (this will highlight all items blue) then press CMD and Backspace (this will empty the folder, may ask for password which is your user account password)
    Now press the back arrow situated at the top left of the finder window under the 3 circles of red/yellow/green which will take you back to the 'Library'
    Scroll down and double click the 'LaunchAgents' folder, go inside, again making sure you're inside that folder (it says LaunchAgents top middle of finder), then do the same, CMD+A, CMD+Backspace (enter password if needed).
    Once that's done, click GO once more, select 'Computer', then you're going to do the same for another 4 folders in here, Caches, LaunchAgents, LaunchDaemons + StartupItems (open each folder, CMD+A, CMD+Backspace - Enter password)
    Once they're all done, right click (or CTRL+Click) on the trash can and select 'Empty Trash', pressing continue on any messages that come up saying the file couldn't be deleted.
    Restart your mac.
    Log back in, check for Software Updates (by clicking the Apple logo top left of the screen) and then once more, empty the trash.
    Hope this helps!

  • A way to set the default Data tab display format to "Auto-Fit, Best-Fit"?

    Is there a preference to set the Data tab for tables and views to default to "Auto-Fit" and "Best-Fit"?

  • Time Zone Format

    In the preferences -> database -> NLS Parameters: Date Format, I have MM-DD-YY:HH24:MI:SS and the display works great. But what do I put where to have my date times display for the Central Time Zone?

    OBIEE is converting the value out of the database.
    For example, I have an invoice in the database as 4/1/2010. As mentioned before, invoice date and time dim are DATE format.
    When I run the report as an OBIEE user with a profile setting of EST, it converts 4/1/2010 back to 3/31/2010. The month in time dim still shows April however.
    If I override the data format to "Data Time Zone", then the conversion does not happen.
    Maybe something is set wrong in the business model. We would want all users regardless of time zone to see the invoice as 4/1/2010.

  • Solution - Date Time Windows 8 showing year 9999

    Hi All
    I just installed Windows 8 on a brand new 2012 mac mini i5 using the latest bootcamp 5.
    After booting in to Window, I saw that the date was incorrect and set to the year 9999.
    This prevented Windows Update from working, caused issues with SSL certificates not being valid, and resulted in errors when syncing the date/time from the various time servers available in Windows.
    When I rebooted from Windows back in to Mountain Lion, the default auto time sync would result in the correct time being shown.
    If I disabled the auto time sync in Mountain Lion, then booted in to Windows 8, corrected the time in Windows, then booted back to Mountain Lion, the date/time in Mountain Lion would be broken.
    Anyway, it turns out the issue is due to a bad registry value in Windows 8.
    Windows 8 had some crazy value for "ActiveTimeBias" under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation] that was essentially adding a 1000s of years etc on to the Date/Time displayed.
    The solution for me was to reset all the *Bias values back to 0.
    "StandardBias"=dword:00000000
    "DaylightBias"=dword:00000000
    "ActiveTimeBias"=dword:00000000
    Once Windows rebooted, the time showed the correct year.  It was then just a matter of resetting the timezone location in Windows so that the StandardBias / DaylightBias values got configured correctly.  ActiveTimeBias stayed at 0.
    Anyway, hope this helps someone.

    Hello,
    I am having the exact same problem with my iMac. The year keeps changing back to 9999. I'm not sure how you "reset all the bias back to 0" as per your post. Below is a screenshot of my registry fo time zone. If I double-click each of the items cited in your post, I acn only change a portion of them. For example, for ActiveTimeBias I can change the "12c" from my entry. Standard Bias is already  and DaylightBias has a long number that matches exactly what I have in the registry of my laptop.
    Could you please provide further instruction on how to resolve this?
    Thanks for your help!

  • Date/Time erros when working with Database Connectivity toolkit

    Hi!,
    We are observing errors with date/time when working with LV. The error occurs when the system datetime format is set such that day precedes month (e.g. dd/mm/yyyy). Our VI uses LV 7.1, Database Connectivity 1.0 and SQL Server 2000 on a Win2000 machine.
    Problem details
    Our database in SQL server has a table having columns with data type "datetime"
    If the system date format (as set in control panel) is "mm/dd/yyyy", the 'insert into database' vi works fine. This function inserts the date and time (among other things) into the above mentioned table.
    However, when the system datetime is set to dd/mm/yyyy we start receiving error that date and time is beyond range for dates in which the date had the day field greater than 12 (e.g. 23/10/2005). With the same settings, if the date is such that day field is equal or less than 12 (e.g. 03/10/2005), we do not receive an error but the date is interpreted as 10 March 2005 rather than 03 September 2005.
    Clearly LV (or is it SQL) is mistaking the day field as month.
    We have taken care that when sending and receiving date, the format date and time string is set as per system settings.
    Thus, if system setting is "dd/mm/yyyy" our format string is "%d/%m/%Y"
    And if the setting is "mm/dd/yyyy" our format string is"%m/%d/%Y"
    Any help on problem cause and cure is welcome.
    Thanks,

    Hi Xu,
    You answer led me to some very interesting fact finding on how SQL server handles date and time. I have attached a zip file which contains webpages that throw more light on this issue.
    The attached pages tell me that SQL has an inbuilt date/time reference format. The default in mm/dd/yyyy. Which explains why my VI worked when I used that format to write to SQL.
    However there is a catch:
    SQL expects the date/time to be in its inbuilt reference format when you WRITE data to SQL. If the date/time is in a different format, better tell SQL about it by using say the SET command you mentioned.
    BUT what about the date/time format when you are reading data from SQL?
    Our finding is that SQL sends date/time string in the system date format when you READ from SQL !!! That is very surprising behaviour (why differentiate between write and read?).
    Is our finding correct?
    So, we adopted the following simple strategy (yet to be fully tested):
    1) Whenever we write date/time to SQL, the string is formatted as mm/dd/yyyy. Presently, the user's SQL server is in the default state. Caveat is that if the user changes SQL date/time from default (which is mm/dd/yyyy) to anything else, our software will give errors. But then he changed it  ;-)
    2) When we read date/time from SQL we format the string as per system date/time format.
    I know this is not very robust coding. But assuming the user keeps his SQL in the current setting, should we expect smooth working?
    In other words, are there any errors and/or flaws in our strategy?
    Thanks,
    Gurdas

  • How to format date/time in display hints?

    To those of you who know it:
    One of the attributes in a VO is of Date type. To display of the date in the format of "10/25/2009 11:45 PM", I only managed to display "10/25/2009 11:45" with only the clue of the few examples provided in display hints when doing the formatting (the format mask I use is MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm). I would appreciate it if someone could advise how to display the AM/PM part of the format mask. Or better yet, point me to a source of reference for such formattnig.
    Thanks!
    Newman

    Newman,
    As suggested by Puthanampatti, you have to use 'a' in the date pattern to display AM/PM.
    You can find date and time patterns in [SimpleDateFormat API doc|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/SimpleDateFormat.html] which describes more about the letters to be used for each pattern which you can also use with attribute display hints in VO.

  • How can I display date+time and not the point number in excell?

    Hi everyone,
    Could anybody tell me how I can save date + time to a file, so that  I can display on a diagram(excel) : date+time in (ox) and data (oy)? :
    My program sets in (ox) the point number and not the date+time....( although  date and time are written correctly in the column...)
    Any help would be great,
    Thanks,
    regards,
    Marc

    hi there,
    excel uses 01.01.1900 00:00 as the time offset, LabVIEW uses 01.01.1904 02:00, so you can't display the correct datetime in excel when you write the time as a fractional number of seconds from LabVIEW. you must format the datetime in LabVIEW to a string and write that to the column. use the "Format Date/Time String" - function and for example "%d.%m.%Y %H:%M:%S%3u" as the format string (see the functions help for more examples). you also could format your data to a string using "Format Into String" - function and write the file as a 2D string array. the decimal point you have to use depends on your system and its settings, but you can specify the decimal point in the Format string like "%.;%f" (means fractional number with point as decimal point).

  • Specifying date time format in Finder

    How can I specify the date-time format in Finder for the "date-modified" and "date-created" columns in list view?
    About three years ago, I got a command line instruction to set these formats and I kept it at mm/dd/yy
    Then a couple days ago, I changed the date format in iStat menus and the date-time formats started acting weird. I want the dates to be like "07/08/05" (mm/dd/yy) and then the formats started changing to "November 07, 2008" (month/dd/yyyy). This change seemed to take effect any time I open the view options for a folder. Now I discovered that the date format change depending on the column width according to the format specified in system preferences, international, formats.
    Narrow column, short date format; a little wider to long format, with ellipses if the column is not wide enough; then full format.
    Does anyone know the command line to set the format to keep it to the one I want?

    this doesn't seem to be it. however I now like the way Finder does display dates -- format gets more compact as the width of the column decreases; although there still is some excess space left on the left -- perhaps for AM & PM which I don't use; I use a 24 hour time format instead.
    Happy New Year

    basham,
    You didn't mention which type of DBMS you are using (i.e. Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, etc), but in a nutshell using MS SQL here is the principle.  Your time that is recorded in the records is dependent upon a setting in your RDBMS.  For instance, the RDBMS can use the machine time (which would most likely be local time), or it can use the machine time with an offset (to accomodate GMT, for instance).  GMT is factored differently based upon your time zone (and time of year, i.e. DST or EST, etc).  I'm on the east coast so right now my offset is GMT - 5, so if my time right now is 1457, then GMT is 1957.  To get SQL to compute an offset you must take the number of hours to offset and divide by 24 (24 hours in a day) and add that to the record in the database.  For instance, to get GMT right now I would use:
    select cast(getdate()5/24. as char(12))rtrim(convert(char(12),getdate()5/24.,8))' GMT'
    Hope this helps.  If you're on Oracle, then the mathematical principles remain the same, just the formatting will be different.
