Datetime format - auto colon entering in the time

In Oracle 6i, the user could enter the date and time without entering a colon, and the colon would automatically populate. In Oracle 10g, this no longer is the case.
Example:
datetime format: MM/DD/RR HH24:MI
User enters: 11/01/07 1900
In 6i, it would put in the colon. In 10g, it responds with an error. If I use format MM/DD/YY HH24:MI, it puts in a colon, but saves the data as 11/01/0007 19:00.
Is there a workaround? I found a related document in Metalink (Customer Tar # (Mandatory for Customer Bugs):5711214.992 ), but the workaround did not work.

A format mask of MM/DD/YY HH24:MI is supposed to give you a year of 0007. RR is the one that has some built-in smarts: >50 gives you 19YY and <=50 gives you 20YY. The recommended format mask is to use four Y's: MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI You basically force the users to be specific.<BR>
If there was one lesson we should have all learned from the millennium bug, it was that a year should always be expressed in full. Am I right?<br>
Can you please try MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI and tell us what happens?

  • Convert the date of string to datetime format 'MM/dd/yyyy' when the system date format is 'dd/MM/yyyy'.

I need convert the date of string format 'MM/dd/yyyy' to datetime format 'MM/dd/yyyy' when the system date format is 'dd/MM/yyyy'.Since
I need to search values based on date where my database datetime  is 'MM/dd/yyyy' format.

In my opinion you should re-consider the assumption that the date picker returns a string. Maybe it is able to return a
DateTime object directly instead of string. Then you will pass this value as a parameter of SQL query. This should work regardless of computer configuration.
Otherwise, follow the previous string-based approaches.

  • How to enter the time from the jdbc application

    Hello,
I have a problem while entering time from my jdbc application.
I was entering time with TIMESTAMP but it is also entering the date,i want to enter only the time in to database from my application.

    Conceptal problem
I doubt any database supports a data type that only takes a time. The most common data type always takes a date component and time component.
That means it will ALWAYS have a date component.
The solution is for you to write code that ignores the date part. That can involve something like using a fixed date for all entries, stripping to seconds, using SimpleDateFormat to display/parse etc.
Or don't use a database data type that is time specific. Instead just use a integer and stored seconds from midnight. Or some variation of that.

  • I don't want it to autoformat the time in a table - anyone know what to do?

I'm working on a table, and if I type in "8:00" it changes it to "10/22/2008 8:00:00 AM". Does anyone know what I have to do to stop it from doing this?
    Thanks,
    Justin

Don't forget that the Help available in the program is also for you
searching with the clumsy keystring 'time format' returns:
+*Using the Date and Time Format*+
+Use the date and time format to display date and/or time values.+
+To define a date and time format for one or more cells:+
    +Select the cell or cells.+
+Click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Table Inspector button, and then click Format.+
+Choose Date & Time from the Cell Format pop-up menu.+
+To specify how you want a date formatted, choose a format from the Date pop-up menu.+
+To specify how you want a time value formatted, choose a format from the Time pop-up menu.+
Remember, there is no time object in iWork's components. Just date-time ones.
When we enter only the time part, the program always complete it with the current date.

Actually we want to do auto goods receipt at  the time of confirmation (cor6n).I have given the PI03 control key to the operation and phase. So system shows the goods receipt item in goods  movement screen in COR6N.
We manage all the materials in batches. So i want to split the goods receipt qty into no. of batches.
In cor6n,in goods movement there is option for splitting, but at a time it allows me to split the qty once only.If i have to split the qty again than again i have to select the splitting option .
i want to split at a time. How to do it/

    Hi Jitendra,
It can be doing Batch Determination.I don't want to tell you to perform Batch Determination if you don't want.Just press icon for Batch Determination and no strategy found then do it Batch Determination without Class Selection.
System will propose all available batches. Here split required qty as per your choice. and then press copy button.

  • Price control at the time of GR

    Hi
There is a requirement to control the price based on the document date entered at the time of GR.
The document date is nothing but the delivery challan date of the supplier.
The requirement is due to frequent change in prices and retrospective price changes are to be addressed.
Is there any userexit or note which can help achieve the above requirement.
    Thanks
    Rahul

    Hi Merwyn
The example you have provided is the issue why i am unable to use the price control category 5 in the infor record or PO.
Here the requirement is  as below:
Price valid from 01.08.2008 to 31.08.2008--- Rs 25
Price valid from 01.09.2008 to 30.09.2008--- Rs 28
The vendor delivery challan is dated 30.08.2008
The material reaches the customer on 02.09.2008
The GR is prepared in the system with
    Document date - 30.08.2008
    Posting Date  -- 02.09.2008
The GR value taken is Rs 28...but this will create problem in IR.
Hence the requirement is to determine the basic price on the document date i.e the delivery challan date of the vendor.
    Thanks
    Rahul

  • I have 2 WD external HD for back up. One is hooked up to the Time Machine and the other is used to store all my large photo files. The time machine excludes the second one. I need to back this up as well . How do I reformat it so it will ?

I just purchased 2 WD TB external hard drives. I have one formatted to be used with the time machine and it is working well. the other that i am using to store large files is excluded from the time machine. I can't click on it and add as per instructions. It won't allow me to. I need to back t his up as well. Ive backed up this one so I am able to reformat it but it doesn't recognize the drive unless it is formatted in FAT which is what WD advices it be formatted in. It should be in Mac extended journaling but I can't get it to mount in that. Help?

In addition, TM will not backup drives partitioned in FAT as the OP stated his 2nd EHD is formatted. My recommendation to the OP is to reformat the 2nd EHD to Mac OS Extended  (Journaled) and then include it in his TM backups. Of course in order to do this the OP must first move the data on the FAT partitioned drive to his internal HD and then once the EHD is re-partitioned correctly he can move it back.
In addition as Pondini mentioned the 2nd EHD must be directly connected to the iMac rather than be a network drive, TM is NOT, repeat NOT a network backup solution with the single caveat of using a Time Capsule backup.
