Db adapter OSB

Hi
I have 10 tables in DB. I have input value let us say "x".
Based on "x" I will get "y" from table 1.
Based on "y", I will get values "a","b","c" from table 2.
Based on "x", "y" and "a", I will get values from table 3.
so on.
(The exact sequence of use of "a", "b" is not fixed yet since DB design not finalized, it may change in future.)
I thought QueryByExample operation in DB adapter for a table is useful for above. Rather than writing a select query again and again I can create queries runtime with QueryByExample.
Issue is, when i select QueryByExample operation for a particular table, one jca binding/wsdl is created for one table. So for above I need to create 10 business services, each will point to querybyExample functionality for one table. Now this is cumbersome, I would love to have each queryByExample for each table as one operation under one business service. So I can have one business service with 10 operations, each one pointing to one table's QueryByExample.
How can I do this?

I would say, you can keep this logic in procedure that will be pretty fast and you just call the procedure using DB Adapter.
Thanks,
Vijay

  • How to assign LogicalDirectory in JCA File Adapter - OSB

in SOA Suite, you assign a value to LogicalDirectory by setting a property in composite.xml
how to achieve the same in OSB?

It is possible to register a Java Listener class, which can/will be invoked, when a last batch in the file, is read. Code for invoking the concurrent Program can be written in side this class.
Refer to following document on how to register the Java Listener class
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#CACJBIGD
Moreover, as an alternate to the above approach, chunk read interaction specs can be implemented along with the Sync File Read for your scenario( However,This will be a whole re-write, considering your current approach. Good News is, there is full-fledged example readily available for this in oracle docs).
Here is the link if you would like to implement the Chunk Read.

  • OSB db-adapter: how to pass a proxy user or something like this?

Hello, on OSB with a Oracle db-adapter, I'd like to do some database updates. Usually the db-adapter is set up with a technical database user.
But on database side, this way I don't know exactly which user has been updating my table because only the technical user will be inserted into "Created_by" Column
(select USER from dual ==> technical user).
Now I thougt about using Proxy Users. But there exists some other Problems:
    - every proxy user has to be initially created in the database
    - how can I pass proxy user and technical user from OSB to the database?
(using JCA, JNDI and JDBC Data Sources)
... on JDBC datasources I can only specify hard coded userid/password (--> technical user)
Any help would be appreciated. Maybe some good white papers or tutorial exists in the web, but I can't finde a good one.
    Thanks
    Best regards

You can pass in the adapter header property "jca.db.ProxyUserName". That way you can specify a user for each invoke.
I got confirmation that OSB supports setting these properties. The sample adapters-db-201-MovieImages on soasamples.samplecode.oracle.com > Adapters shows working with header properties but with Mediator.

I even tired creating a new WM thread and assigned to this proxy.
I have chosen MaxThreadsConstraint option with Maximum of 5 concurrent thread.
Also i have enabled Ignore Stuck Threads in that WM thread.
Now i dont see any thread stuck in the server log, but sametime the file is not been picked by the Proxy which means the error is suppressed alone from displaying in logs..

  • OSB Error in deploying a project with jca file adapter

    Hi,
I am facing an issue where I am getting an error when deploying a service from Eclipse. I am using OSB/SOA 11.1.1.5 2 node cluster. I have an OSB service where I am writing to a file and am using file adapater. I created a composite with file adapter to write a file then imported .jac, .wsdl and composite into eclipse and generated a business service out of .jca file. When I deploy the project from eclipse I am getting the below error and am not able to deploy the project.

  • FTP Adapter on OSB - how to specify logical directory path

I am using the ftp adapter on osb 11g (Oracle Service Bus Version: [Oracle Service Bus Server Side Dependencies 11.1 Thu Aug 19 02:10:08 PDT 2010 ] Oracle Weblogic Server Version: [WebLogic Server 10.3.4.0 Fri Dec 17 20:47:33 PST 2010 1384255 ])
I defined the ftp adapter using jdev and imported the jca artifacts into osb.
I created a business service using jca adapter to put the file to the ftp server.
The problem is the write directory on the ftp server is different for each environment - DEV, QA, PROD.
I used a physical directory specification when defining the adapter in JDEV because it wasn't clear from the help how i would override a logical directory during deployment to osb (it is clear if deploying to soa suite).
Is there a way to override this dynamically override this directory at runtime. Or even better a way to override during deployment time?

    You do it either way....
Import the SBConfig jar into the sbconsole and change the value in the JCA file

  • File Adapter Transactional in SOA and OSb

    Hi All,
Is file adapter transactional in SOA and OSB. I have a requirement where a inbound file adapter polls for a file and it is consumed by a topic. If topic is down, how can I know that the same file will goes to topic when is up(how can I make it transactional).I want to do this both in SOA ans OSB.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hi Kumar,
File Adapter itself is NON TRANSACTIONAL...
    4.2.9 Nontransactional
The Oracle File Adapter picks up a file from an inbound directory, processes the file, and sends the processed file to an output directory. However, during this process if a failover occurs in the Oracle RAC back end or in an SOA managed server, then the file is processed twice because of the nontransactional nature of Oracle File Adapter. As a result, there can be duplicate files in the output directory.

  • File adapter in OSB

    Hi ,
I am trying to use file adapter in OSB. My intention is the OSB should write a file in a specified location in my sytem. I have configured the Business Service with Messagin service in (general tab), request msg as text and response msg as none in(messagin tab), protocol as file in (transport tab), prefix as AddUser suffix as *.txt* in (file transport tab).
whenever i give input in proxy service it writing the file at the specified location, but the issue is,it writes the file name as AddUser3225734920456246193--12c3763f.132dd1769a3.-7f5b.txt . i dont need this part(AddUser3225734920456246193--12c3763f.132dd1769a3.-7f5b) in file name which is written. can anyone tell me how i can solve this?
    Any help is appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi,
We can go with transport JCA FILE for file writing into the specified location.
Create a file adapter in jdeveloper with all specified things like (file name, physical path location and schema). This creates the jca and wsdl file in jdevloper copy this to eclipse(OEPE) and later u can create business service based on jca file in eclipse.Or else in osb sbconsole copy import related jca and wsdl files and create business service based on this. This process wil create file in particular location with name specified in the jca file in particular location.....

    Ok,
bcoz of this issue, i had to code the entire interface in OSB console. It runs fine in OSB console (i was able to test it successfully).
Is this a bug in eclipse or only i am facing this issue? Has anybody tried to create a business service from JCA FTP Get Synchronous jca file?

Currently OSB console and eclipse do not accept FTP path for this parameter and want me to specify a local directory on server. Thanks

  • FTP Adapter in OSB

    Hi Guys,
I have used an FTP adapter in OSB and it is working fine. What I want to do is to override the Delete File setting for the adapter.
I don't want to delete(or archive) the file/s (scenario e.g. is that I have to send the same file over and over again).
    Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
You can overide the Delete File setting by using a logical name instead of a physical path to the folder.
When you use logical names for the file read and archive locations, two properties are added to the service/reference binding with the name you have given them in the wizard.
The value between the tags can be overwritten. Initials they''re blank/empty.
    <property name="fileDelLoc" type="xs:string" many="false" override="may">c:\temp\out</property>
    <property name="fileLoc" type="xs:string" many="false" override="may">c:\temp\in</property>
These properties can be changed on deployment time with a configuration plan or on runtime via the EM in the settings page of the service binding.
    <service name="ReadFileService">
      <property name="fileDelLoc">
         <replace></replace>
       </property>
       <property name="fileLoc">

  • OSB DB Adapter Polling Issue

    Hello Everybody,
    Requirement
I am doing DB Adapter polling in OSB.I have a db adapter which polls order table whenever there is a record with status='N'.The OSB component is on single node of Weblogic Server.
1.The db adapter picks the order data with status='N' in the proxy service
    2.It transforms to webservice xsd
    3.Invokes a webservice.
    4.The webservice returns acknowledgement number.
5.The order table should be updated with status 'Z' and attribute1=acknowledgement number
    OSB Service Design
1.Proxy service calls business service to poll the order table
2.Converts the payload to the xsd format required by target
    3.Invokes the webservice on target
    4.Receives acknowledgement number
5.calls a plsql procedure which updates all the records within this batch with the acknowledgement number and status='Z'
    My configurations in db adapter
Logical delete option in db adapter.
    Unread Value :'N'
    Read Value : 'A'
    Polling frequency : 300 seconds
no of databse rows per XML document : 10
Database rows per transaction : 10
    Issue
1.My process after getting the acknowledgement number it updates the status with Z and attribute1=acknowledgement number. At the of this transaction I am seeing that the status is being updated by
the adapter to 'A' based on read value.I want the read value only to be updated initially but as soon as my OSB process picks it for further processing it should not update again. How can i prevent
the status from getting updated to 'A'.
2.I have 40 records in order table.Per the database rows per transaction it should process 10 records at a time and for each batch of 10 i should get one acknowledgement number.Instead i see that
all the 40 records are updated with the same acknowledgement number.Kindly help as to how I can resolve this situation.
