DB console is showing two Cluster databases
Hi,
I have a two RAC envieronment. I added another instacne . Now the EM (DBconsole) is showing only the old instances , not the new one as well. when i did further investigation , found this.
On the OEM console page, click preferences, click preferred Credentials and the database instance
Under cluster databases, system is showing following
(+)DBNAME.hostname.lcl
(+)DBNAME
when i expanded the (+)DBNAME.hostname.lcl, its showing
DBNAME.hostname.lcl_DBNAME3
Exapanding (+)DBNAME shows
DBNAME_DBNAME2
DBNAME_DBNAME1
The problem is , why not all the instances are shown into one cluster databases.
does anyone knows, how to fix. I have raised a SR , but as usual no solution.
I definitely feel your pain, I've been there and done that. If you don't mind punting I would suggest the following:
As an example, we have a three node rac database. The node/instance names are rac01/ORADB1, rac02/ORADB2, and rac03/ORADB3. We want to install EM dbconsole to manage all the instances. rac01 is the EM host server. The database registry shows the following:
COMP_ID COMP_NAME VERSION STATUS SCHEMA
EM Oracle Enterprise Manager 11.1.0.6.0 VALID SYSMAN
Set up ssh authorization in such way so that all nodes can connect to each other without password prompt. The ssh authorization can be disabled after the configuration.
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate -cluster -EM_NODE rac01 -EM_SID_LIST ORADB2,ORADB3 -SYS_PWD password -DBSNMP_PWD password -SYSMAN_PWD password -PORT 1521
The logs for this activity can be found under:
cd $ORACLE_BASE/cfgtoollogs/emca/<DB_UNIQUE_NAME>
You will be prompted for :
Database unique name: ORADB
Cluster name: rac_cluster
Email address for notifications (optional): <enter>
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server for notifications (optional): <enter>
ASM ORACLE_HOME [ /apps/dbs/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1 ]: <enter>
ASM port [ 1521 ]: <enter>
ASM user role [ SYSDBA ]: <enter>
ASM username [ SYS ]: <enter>
ASM user password: < the password for SYS ASM user>
The whole process takes about 1 hour, depending on the speed of the servers that you are using.
If in the future another node is added to the RAC system, then issue the following command on node 1:
emca -addInst db
You will be prompted for :
Node name: <new server name>
Database unique name: ORADB
Database SID: <new instance name>
Password for SYS user: <password>
You should find the agent running on non host nodes, in this case rac02 and rac03, while db console will also be running on the host node i.e. rac01.
IF not then run emctl start dbconsole on all on nodes.
How does that work for you?

11gr1 DB console not showing the cluster instances
Hi All,
11.1.0.7 DB with DB console deployed.
1). EM upload agent command works but on DB console, I am not able to see the cluster instances...
any config file I need to review?
I don't see any errors....the emctl dbconsole commands all work fine.Hi,
Run the following command to check if the cluster instances have been discovered:
<Database Home>/bin/emctl config agent listtargets
If necessary, see Support note 578011.1 for instructions on using emca to add an instance to DB control.

CloudControl 12c shows "Agent Unreachable" for Cluster Database
Hello ,
when clicking on "Targets -> Databases" our RAC database shows up as follows:
Name Type Status
PROD02 Cluster Database symbol for "Agent Unreachable"
PROD021 Database Instance symbol "green arrow" for "Up"
PROD022 Database Instance symbol "green arrow" for "Up"
I don't understand why the symbol for the Cluster Database is not a green arrow, too. The agent on each node is up and running - and when either clicking on "PROD02" or "PROD021" (or PROD022) Cloud Control offers the full functionality. Therefore the status "Agent Unreachable" is missleading (from my point of view). I don't want to remove the complete Cluster Database and discover it once again - several jobs have already been defined and I don't want to do that once again.
Did anybody else experience the same behaviour?
Any help will get appreciated...

Managed server is up in weblogic console but showing down in em console
I have a weblogic domain. It has two servers, one admin server and a manged server. The managed server is inside a cluster. When I'm starting these two servers, they are starting normally without any error. In weblogic console,it's showing two servers are up,and also the status of all applications are active. The target of em is admin server. But at the same time in em console,it's showing, the managed server and the cluster are down and also, the applications targeted to managed server are also down.
I have similar domain configuration in another domain. That is working properly. The difference of it with the previous domain is only some applications are different.
I'm using middleware 11.1.1.5.Memory allocated to managed server is 4096MB.
I need help regarding this.

Cluster Database Connect Works Only in stand-alone OEM
When I connect to OEM standalone, I can connect to the cluster database with no problem. When I try to connect with the management server, it gives me the ORA-12514 error. The service name works both in SQLplus and in stand-alone mode.
My console is running on a windows XP machine, the management server and OEM catalog are on a machine running 9.2, the cluster resides on two other machines running 9.2.
What do I need to change to get OEM to let me open the cluster database using the management server?Try to create a service like this one and try:

How to compare two oracle database schemas
hi all,
i want to compare and find out differences between two oracle databases. The comparison should be made on between table definition, table data, primary and foreign keys, packages and functions.
Is there any management console or tool embedded in the oracle enterprise manger?
it is really appreciate if anyone can point me towards wright direction asap.Hi ,
This script would help u a lot in comparing 2 schemas and generate a report on them.
Script:
This script will compare two Oracle schemas and generate a report of

CloudControl 12c: when adding cluster-database single instances are missing
Hello ,
I'e have installed the agent 12c on every single host of our RAC. When adding a database to CloudControl 12c just the RAC-instance gets discovered - but not the single database instances on each host.
Due to this when clicking targets -> databases I just see the cluster-database - but not every single instance of the database.
Compared to another RAC database this is totally different behaviour.
Any help will be appreciated
Rgds
JHHello ,
maybe I should try to explain the issue a little bit clearer...
We have one RAC database called PROD02. When clicking "targets -> databases" I see the following:
PROD02 of type Cluster Database
PROD021 of type Database Instance
PROD022 of type Database Instance
That's the way it shoudl be - that's the way I expected it...
For the newly cofgured RAC database, called PREP02, it looks different when clicking "targets -> databases"
PREP02 of type Cluster Database
The single instances don't show up. Of course I see the single instances when clicking on "PREP02" under the item "Instances".
Now I wonder why these two RAC databases are differently displayed when clicking "targets -> databases". When trying to add the single instances (clicking "Add" under "targets -> databases") and selecting then either "only on the host <hostname>" or "on all hosts in the cluster" no single instances are found or displayed...
Rgds

Can I use two different database with DBSystemLoginModule?
Finally I can login with Database user id by DBSystemLoginModule on Embedded oc4j server.
But I confused between [b]jazn-data.xml and system-jazn-data.xml.
Which xml do I have to edit for jdbcUrl and jdbcDriver?
Now I would like to use two different database(such as only sid is different).
In this case I want to show specific database name as realm name.
What should I do?
When I use DBSystemLoginModule, I edit JdbcUrl in system-jazn-data.xml.
So can I pass the parameter for sid programmatically?
And also I tried to run my application with other database with DBSystemLoginModule on Embedded oc4j server.
I changed few things(jdbcUrl at system-jazn-data.xml,jazn-data.xml in embedded-oc4j-server/config and database connection for BusinessComponents at Project Properties of Model/ViewController.
But I got some error.
Did I miss something?

SAP management console doesnt show any instances
Hi,
I installed CE recently and it seemed to be working fine. But today I have been running into trouble with the SAP management console. When I open the SAP management console it shows no instances and is empty. I tried to start the server from SAP Netweaver Composition Environment 7.1 > Application server J01 (CE1) > Start Application Server and it fails also giving me this message

And surprisingly I am not able to see any logs for today, The last I can view them for is when I tried to start the application yesterday.
I also tried to go through the composition tool set up again where it could lead me to a screen to start the server , but had no luck , it didnot give me any information about the CE instances at all.
Any help in this regard would be really appreciated it.
Thanks so much

DB console not view of running database.
I have installed 10.1.0.4 in Linux RH. And I have first iteration for db console:
Installed ASM.
Installed database INS1.
Installed repository for dbconsole in INS1.
Dbconsole has been started and worked.
Database INS1 has been deleted (repository not delete!).
After that, I have created new database INS2. I have recreated repository:
./emca -a -r
Dbconsole has been started, but in http-access I don't view really working database INS2.
I have reinstalled repository :
./emca -x INS2
or use of specify util:
./RepManager host 1521 INS2 -action drop
but, after reinstalled repository dbconsole started and not viewed new database.
I think, dbconsole have some file with stored old database, but I don't find this files.
Maybe, anybody ask me possible answer for this problem?
PS. Installation repository not generate error.
Start dbconsole not generate error.
http-access show INS2 database (true) and not view started database (it's my problem)...
INS2 has been started and I have connect using internal terminal.
I don't find in Metalink information about this problem.Anyone who have seen this error before?
Kindly help -
How to install ERP ECC6.0 on two cluster systems on HPUX
Hi,
i need to install ecc6.0 in production server on two cluster servers ( central instance in one server and database instance in one server both are cluster system). OS-HPUX DB-Oracle. Can you please give the solution. or plz send the document if you have.
Thanks,
Regards,
venkat reddyHi Venkat,
You have not mentioned your server specification, because all the clustering in base of your system configuration. For more information your OS person can guide you.
For example: If you have one system with storage then you can install application on server and databse on your storage and same can be done in clusting server.
If you can provide the specification then we can guide you.

Synching two seperate databases
Is there any way to sync two separate databases tomy 9630 tour?
Ahhh...OK then. So that's Contacts only, I am going to assume. From two separate sources. Challenging. Here is the list of compatible desktop PIMs...since Respond is not in there, I see no native method. However, all is not lost...I can see a few possibilities.
The RIM DTM software can import contacts from a CSV or ASCII file...see this KB and this KB. You'd have to somehow use Respond to export to the format that DTM can indeed read. However, I'm concerned about how this would result on your BB...I'm thinking that you'd have, on your BB, your Contact list and everything would be intermingled with no real way to tell them apart.
Another method might be to export from Respond and then import those into Outlook, assigning categories in Outlook that will synchronize to the BB.
Speaking of which, it sounds as if Respond may already be integrated into Outlook? If so, then enabling those contacts to sync to your BB may be as simple as ensuring that all of your Contacts are in the main Contact folder (in Outlook), divided by Category settings so that you can tell them apart (and apply a filter on the BB).
Or -- Outlook sub-folders can synchronize to the BB...placing all of your Respond contacts into a folder that is sub to the main Contact Folder could also achieve what you seek. See this KB for that method.
As you can see, there are several methods to achieve what you desire. Not knowing Respond is what makes it hard to be precise with a recommendation. But, if it were me, I'd probably go with the last one -- a sub-folder (to Contacts) in Outlook that I then configure to synchronize with my BB.
Hope that helps!

against a cluster database target, returning the message "<EM102:rac_database>" is a cluster
target, hence skipping it. Please use EM console.
A blackout for the same target type is established successfully using the EM console.
Cause
The emctl utility cannot be used to control blackouts for clustered targets.
This is a limitation when using emctl to control blackouts against clustered targets, because the
command needs to be issued simultaneously on all the agents in the cluster.
Solution
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
1. Use the EM Console to establish the blackout for clustered targets. You will find the Black Out
option in the General section on the home page of any application server target. For composite
targets like OracleAS Farms, you will find this option in the Administration tab.
