DB slow after IMPORT & EXPORT
Hi,
i had transferred a schema from DB1to DB2. But after that, my application running on that schema became very slow. It is at good speed at my origibnal schema.
I have even comput stats and analze the schema.
Pls provide me some solution.
Thanks
Akhilesh
Hi,
Have transferrred to a different database or the same database?
If a different database, you may need to check the memory parameters on both the instances and the overall user activity on both the databases. You will need to tune the second instance as needed with the new user activity.
If you have transferred to a new host, then you may need to check that host's hardware configuration as well.

Badri.

Colours trouble with a psd file after import/export through Lightroom 4
I'm working with CS5, and I just bought LR4. I took a psd file (in Adobe 98 space) and I imported it in LR 4, and the exported as psd file in Adobe 98 colour space. Both files, the original one and the other after import/export, are quite different. The saturation of the res is not the same... When I repeat this experinece with a psd file in sRGB or in Prophoto, I have no difference betwwen both files.
I then conclude that LR doesn't recognize the adobe 98 pprofile of my psd file.
Is that normal, have you tried this experience, is there a bug in LR or a bug in the way, I proceed?
Best regardsWhen you import there is an Advanced button in one of the dialogs. Click that and you will be able to Paginate against chosen styles. That will break your document into topics.

&DISPLAY_USER not working properly after import/export of application
I'm getting some weird functionality.
Several variables are no longer working after I exported and imported a page into the same HTMLDB environment
for example at the bottom of the page I now get:
User: &DISPLAY_USER Language: &BROWSER_LANGUAGE
I verified that the template are the same in both cases.
I also get the same error in one of my links
with
&SESSION not resolving.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
ErikErik,
Items using that syntax need a period at the end (&DISPLAY_USER.) when the application uses "exact substitutions mode". Some of our older applications used "non-exact substitutions mode". Perhaps you exported the page from such an application.

Files get corrupted after import-export
Hi
After exporting images from HTML DB 2.0 and importing them some of the files are corrupted after import.
This has happened with one .js file and with one .pdf file.
All the other (including some PDF-s) are correct.
The "File Character Set" specified on import is correct and there are no other parameters I can change.
If I look the contents of corrupted files it seems that another file has been pasted at the end of the original file.
What could be wrong?Hello,
Any news on this ? I have the same (reproducable) problem with a .js file.
Uploading works fine, but when I try to download it again, the contents of another file seems to have been appended at the end. The file also doesn't work when I try to include it using #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#...js

CANNOT DISPLAY ARABIC IN ISQL*PLUS(JUNK). APPLICATION WORKS FINE WITH ARABIC
with Taret DB char set to US7ASCII the data is always junk old data +new inserted arabic data inserted thro isqlplus or sqlplus.
with AR8MSWIN1256 the old data(imported in to new db from old 7.3.4 db export dump) is displayed as junk (what ever in the db) and after creating a new table data inserted, the arabic display is fine.
How to overcome the problem of displaying old data? we have lots of data for migration.
ThanksSmall correction
In DB with Char set to AR8MSWIN1256.......
Old data exported from 7.3.4 and imported in new 10.2.0.3 db is showing arabic char as junk
But new table created and data inserted as arabic is displaying properly.
What has to be done such that old imported data displays arabic.
We are using isqlplus and sqlplus to query the data

Problem of Data Import/Export after migration of Oracle DB 9i to 10g
We have encountered the following problem after the migration of Oracle DB 9i to 10g R1 and ESRI ArcSDE 8.3 to 9.1.
In our development server, a view was created by joining of one feature class (point feature), two attribute tables and one F table. We have to perform a process to export all the features in that particular view from the development server and then import them to the production server. In total, there should be about 60,000 points.
Form our past experience (using Oracle DB 9i and ESRI ArcSDE 8.3); we spent about 15-20 minutes to complete the import-export procedure. However, after the system migration, the speed of the import-export procedures is extremely slow, which is talking about 2 hours for ONLY EXPORTING 5MB data.
We would like to seek advice in solving the above problems. THANKS!Try to delete old stats, then gather new stats on the schema and try the export again.

Why does Adobe Premiere CS6 slow playback after importing some audio?
Adobe Premiere CS6.0 v6.0.2
Mac Pro:
1, 4 core - 3.2ghz CPU
16gb ram (4 sticks of 4gb @ 1066 MHz)
1 Tb dive with OS/Apps on
2Tb 7200 RPM media drive
ATI Radeon HD 5770
Sequence:
30Fps
1920x1080
Media:
mostly .MFX files from a Canon XF100 however these clips commonly play nice with Premiere.
Issue:
After importing some audio clips (.wav/.mp3, possibly other extensions) to the timeline on occasion the video playback will become choppy and the audio will slow down 3% creating any voices in the video to become deeper and slows down. Choppy video playback as well. The problem is very annoying but it can be temporarily fixed with a computer restart but it will come back.
Things to note:
Creating a rendered ID (Exporting the movie out to a .mov) the slowed choppy video does not appear in the final movie.
Temp. Solution:
The only way I can fix this problem is by restarting the computer. Simply restarting Adobe Premiere and closing any non-essential applications does not fix the problem.
Any ideas on how to fix this are much apperciated.Try converting your MP3 to AIFF ,QT or something else Macs like. See if that helps.

We have two complete IAS installation (Portal 3.0.8+DB 8.1.7.0 EE) based on NT4.0. One is development, second production. Before moving application, clean prod machine is running forms very fast (least than 1 sec to show complete form). After importing application into the same schema (moved exp/imp db utility), performance is slowing down 1000%. The same form appear in 3~4 minutes.
What's wrong with my portal.
Does anybody move successfully from dev to prod on NT environment?
I'll appreciate for any comments.
MarcinRegarding the performance issue..
There is a workaround provided at: Thanks for this - helped 100%
Marcin
PS.
Now I complete give up. We bought IAS1.0.2, which appear rather like beta version (more 20 registered bugs found just by us). Than oracle support concern that ver. 3.0.8 of Portal will be cure for any previous bugs. Then I lost two weeks of my work trying to install new version and fighting with low performance.
Small piece of history:
Portal 3.0.8 for NT was available since 12 april 2001.
31 may 2001. Now Oracle is saying that 3.0.9 will be bug free. Maybe you should sit down for a while and develop some ver 3.x.x.x test and after you don't find anything release it.
Don't test your software on the customers.
We bought sw, get the knowledge and want to start our project. But how we couldn't do it on platform which is changing every three weeks?!!!!!!
It's smells like Microsoft.

After importing and rendering images are still very slow to go through and develop. No issues in LR 5.3 which was very fast. Canon,Nikon, Leica and Fuji files all rendering slow. iMac 2.9 ghz 16gb RAM OSX 10.8.5. Catalogs and images are kept on external drives. Drives running fine. Really need a fix on this since I'm norally imported and processing at least 4,000 images per LR Catalog. Is there way to revert back to 5.3? I can't use 5.4 is its current state. Thanks.
Download LR 5.3 and install it
By the way, lots of people have this complaint about LR 5.4, and the advice I give is to use LR 5.3 unless you need one of the new camera models supported by LR 5.4 -

Before Export : M|ller After Import : Muller
Before I export my DB, I've got names like M|ller, Frangois, Michhle.
After Import, I've got Muller, Francois, Michele.
I use the same NLS_LANGUAGE for export and import. Are you talking of the exp/imp utilities that come with the database OR about the Oracle Portal Export/Import utilities ? Please clarify, since this forum focusses on Oracle Portal Export/Import Utilities.

Aperture locks up on import/export after Mavericks
Since I upgraded to Mavericks and the corresponding version of Aperture, I have gotten persistent Aperture lockups. When I say "lockups" I mean the spinning beachball of death, and I have to force quit the "not responding" Aperture.
I've tried command-option launching Aperture and repairing or rebuilding the database.
I've tried safe booting, and creating a new user and a "clean" account.
Importing: I can import files from my camera's memory card. However, if I try to select a folder of images on my desktop, it locks up. The folder contains nothing but JPEGs.
Exporting: I've been able to export images. I've had lockups when trying to export MOVs. I also had a lockup when trying to "consolidate originals" so I could migrate all of my images out of Aperture and into Lightroom.
I have tried various search terms in Google to see if this is a known problem but haven't found anything that seems to be import/export specific, or that can't be fixed with a database rebuild.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Barring any solutions to this problem, my workaround was as follows:
Open Aperture Library via "View Package Contents" in Finder
Pull all of my files out.
Use Lightroom instead
I lost all of my albums and project organization, and Aperture adjustments of course, but at least I have my photos back. -

Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???
I have a client who has recently upgraded from V2007 to V8.81. They were succesfuly using this standard function to import supplier prices to their master price list, but now it has failed?
I have looked at the file they are importing and it appears to be fine.
On closer inspection, it did contain approx 46,000 entries, so I took the first 1,000 and created a test file, which imported fine.
The only issue I found was Speed, with the test file of 1,000 records taking about 30 Mins to import. This appeared to get slower and slower the further through the file it got!
Based on this, I have estimated that the whole file would takle about 13 hours to import. The client say that when they used to run it on version 2007 it was far quicker?
In practice, it does appear to run, but the speed is the issue. Having said this, I set the whole file to run last night (over night)and this morning it had appeared to hang after about 2,307 rows, with nothing else being updated.
Has anyone any ideas or is aware of performance issues like this?
Thanks,
IanAlways an option, but would you give your clients access to this tool?
Not sure really.
I have uploaded a copy of their database onto my test system and run the same routine. Its equally as SLOW
I can't gauage if its an issue with 8.81 that 2007 didn't have, as I only have the client's word on it, however I have no reason to disbelieve them.
Kind regards,
Ian
