DB view importance

Hi! Developing a new system we can create views in DB or we can create view objects in JDeveloper BC model. What is importance to create views in DB? Can anyone say advantages and disadvantages where to create View Object?
BEST REGARDS!

These are two totally different things.
A db view is used to put together information from different tables and other views into one big picture for the user. DB views are build as sql statements, and you can't use them to update the attributes you see as the result of the view. This is all done in the db.
A adf bc view is one layer of the adf framework. A adf view can be build from one or more EO which are tables (or part of tables) in the db, but you can update the attributes you see in the adf view. All this is done in the application (using java). The framework keeps track of which attributes to update in the db tables.

  • Unable to view Imported DC from NWDI in the webdynpro explorer view

    Hello,
I am facing problem with NWDS version 2.0.22. we are upgradeing EP04 SPS 14 to sps 22.  When I import a DC project from NWDI from inactive view of development configuration perspective I cannot see the created DC's in Webdynpro Explorer view of webdynpro perspective but it is showing in Navigator view.
Also when I create Webdynpro Project or Webdynpro DC locally I was able to see it in Webdynpro Explorer view.
Can any one please tell me why I was not able to view imported Webdynpro DC's that I create from Inactive view of Development Configurations perspective (selected DC in inactive view and right click and create project).
Also when I compared the Folder structure in the Navigator view of Webdynpro perspective.   I found below folders structure differences.
Imported DC from Inactive View of Development configurations
    Folders:
cfg, def, gen, Model Folder (and sub-forders), src(and sub-forders), test.
    Files:
    .dcdef and .project
Locally created DC (which is visible in the Webdynpro Explorer view)
    Folders:
    bin, cfg, def, gen, gen_ddic(and sub-forders), gen_wdp(and sub-forders), lib, META-INF, Model Folder, src(and sub-forders), test.
    Files:
    .classpath
    .dcdef
    .project.
    Thanks

Many thanks SafeBrowser; I think the Yahoo and Babylon extensions were the problem. Didn't want them anyway!

  • Error While opening an Analytic View (Imported View)

    Dear Colleagues,
    Procedure Followed as:
I exported (through Developer mode) an analytic view named with "abc" from a system called "123"  to my local system. From my local machine I   imported the view into another system called "456", these two processes are successful.
    Issue:
When we are trying to open the imported model ("abc") from "456" system it is through following error.

    Hi Sharath,
When you get error, below in job log you can see completed with errors. Just double click it.
Through SYSTEM user, admin will give privileges to your user. If you are practicing HANA then if you have the access to do so, then you can do by yourself.
If you are in project then ask your admin to give privileges.
By the way what are all the privileges you have? It helps to know what additional privileges required under each category

  • Problem with viewing imported images

Not sure if anyone has any ideas for me (I'm getting to the point of uninstalling and doing a reinstall to see if it works)
I have been using PSE6 for months and all of a sudden I am having a problem. Usually, when I import photos (whether JPEG or RAW) the image shows up on my organizer screen. I can see my JPEG file image thumbnails in whatever drive/folder I have saved them to and as per the norm I cannot view the RAW files. I know that I have to edit them and save to be able to view them in the folder thumbnails.
Last night I was importing RAW images and once the import was completed the images appeared as a grey rectangle with the dreaded hourglass and they do not convert to the images. However, if I click on the gray rectangle the image will appear in a new screen but you can imagine how painstaking that would be to have to click on each photo (and I take a lot!) to just see what it was. I was using both a new SD card and a new card reader so I attempted the import twice more with the same results. I then attempted importing with old cards, old readers, hooking the camera to the computer itself with the same results. I switched my camera back to JPEG and still no luck in the organizer screen. However, when going to the folder that they were downloaded to the JPEG images did show up as usual.
Have I just clicked on a button in PSE6 that I need to unclick? The "display" option at the top right has "thumbnail view" checked. I really have no idea what is going on so any help or suggestions would be really appreciated.
    Thanks!

There's now an official Adobe tech note with the same solution:

  • How do I view imported pictures in file name order?

I have an extensive picture library on my NAS which I would like to see on my iPad and/or AppleTV. I have made folders available for viewing and I've also imported some actual JPEG files to the iPad using iTunes. Try as I might, I cannot get these files to display in file name order (they are all named by date and time). Is there a way?

Not using the built in photos app. You'll need to search for a third party app. I'm afraid I don't have any to recommend because I've never looked for any, but the default for the built in app is to sort by date/event.

  • Cannot view imported files in LR3

Hi - I might be really thick here, but I can't seem to get started in LR3. I am using a Canon 5D mk1 as my camera, and when I start to import images into Lightroom I can view all files, RAWs and JPEGs no problem, however once the files are imported all I get are grey thumbnails in the Library.
Lightroom can read the files until it's actually in the library, so what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

Have Adobe Reader installed? If so, disable the AdobePDFViewer.plugin resident in /Library/Internet Plug-Ins., restart, and try again. For font-associated issues, peruse Font Management in OS X

  • Help Viewing Imported Photos

okay so you know how you can view your "last 15 months" of imported photos in the order that you imported them (and you can change the number of months up to 18) well how can I view ALL my imported photos like that? I know you can go to your library but it doesn't show them in the order that you imported them and I'd like to seem them all that way. I'd like to view them by order of import not by date of the photos, is that possible? thanks!

    Mandy
Welcome to the Apple user to user assistance forums
If you go to photos view in the source pane and under the view menu uncheck view event titles you will find several sort options under the view menu - photo date is one - import date is not
Suggest to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback

  • Unable to view important menus inside process schedulers, user profiles etc

We have installed peopletools 8.49 and Applications FSCM 8.4
After following up all the steps and created the webserver / Appserver, we are unable to view the important menus under process scheduler and user profiles.
We used VP1 ID to login, I have given peoplesoft admin role and portal admin role to it.
    Thanks

    Hi All,
The issue is resolved. Since 8.49, Contents had been expired at December 2010. I ran the app engine suggested by oracle and it worked fine.
    Thanks,

  • Unable to view imported pics.

I have been using iPhoto for 4 years and today is my first problem. 3 days ago I imported pics and no problem to view in full today I cannot view them in full mode only in thumbnail. Any ideas?

What’s happened is that your Library has been corrupted. Now is the time to restore from your back up - and of course you have one.
Otherwise: Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Viewer importing to timeline as letterbox

I just imported to the timeline from the viewer. The image in the canvas is in letterbox format. It wasnt before. I didnt change anything.
How do i make sure that everything is in the same format in the canvas?
    Thanks

The clip that I did on iMovie then imported as a quicktime file is 640 x 480. That clip is showing up in the timeline and canvas as standard without letterbox.
The clips that I am importing into the timeline from my camera (same camera used as iMovie clip) are showing up as 720 x 480 with letterbox in the canvas. (This is the frame size reading I got from control clicking on the clip in the browser, then going to item properties then format).
When I go to Sequence>settings. It says they are both 640 x 480. I dont know if that clears things up.
Either way I dont know how to match them. I tried exporting the iMovie clip with custom settings of 720 x 480 and it still looks the same. Any ideas?

  • Premiere Pro cs6 - Workspace video pane remains blank when trying to view imported files

    Hello,
I'm currently working in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. When I import my media into my workspace and drag it onto the timeline, the preview box where you can review your cut video remains black. Double clicking on the imported file gives the same result. I was initially importing .jpg files (about 300kb size for each) so I tried importing various other image formats - .png, .tiff, etc... I have even imported a movie file into my scene to determine whether the issue was with my content format. With the video, the audio plays fine, but the video remains blank in the preview box. I have tried rendering my workspace and changing my initial project settings, but to no avail. I went into my preferences for Premiere and from what I can determine, everything looks fine.
I'm running the software on an HP Pavilion, Windows 7 intel i7, 8gb ram, with a nvidia 650M 2GB card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,
Have you tried to change your Video Renderer? It would be under Project > Project Settings > General. Switch the option to Mercury Playback Engine software only and see if it helps.
    Thanks,
    Rameez

  • Viewing imported hidden iPhoto Library photos in Aperture

I recently downloaded the trial version of Aperture and imported my iPhoto library. When I did that, hidden photos/events (marked as hidden in iPhoto) were not visible in Aperture. There is a "place-holder" with the original iPhoto event names for the now Aperture projects, but no photos are visible and I can't find a way to unhide them.
I have since purchased and registered Aperture, but this problem persists. Does anyone know how I can make these hidden files visible in Aperture?

In the top right corner of the browser is a search box. By default it is set to show unrated or better images. If you click the triangle beside the magnifying glass you'll get a drop down. One of the choices is *Show All*. Select that . You're hidden images should appear.

  • Cannot view/import RW2 format (Lumix GX7) in LR 5.7.1

cannot view/handle RW2 format after upgrading to LR 5.7.1. Works in LR 5.4 on my old PC. Photos from Panasonics Lumix GX7. Running PC windows 7. Any idea what the problem is?

Are these the .RW2 files straight out of the camera, no modifications at all; or .RW2 files as modified by some other software?
How did you move/copy the .RW2 files from camera card to hard disk? What were the exact steps you used?
Being a non-user of Panasonic cameras, I point out (and this may be totally wrong) that the Lightroom documentation at Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras indicates that Lightroom can read the .RAW files from a GX7, and .RW2 files from other Panasonic cameras. Does that mean anything to you, or am I totally off-base?
