Dbca doesnt show complete list of RAC nodes
Hello,
While using dbca to create a Rac database spread over two nodes out of a 4 node cluster, the dbca lists only 3 nodes to be chosen. Its not showing the 4th node srv1053 which is also in same cluster like the other 3. Our Crs is 10204 and the db home where I am going to create is also 10204.
Below is an excerpt from the dbca log:
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:540] [GetActiveNodes.create:221] Returning an existing instance of GetActiveNodes
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:540] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:954] clusterNodes[0]=srv1052
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:541] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:954] clusterNodes[1]=srv1053
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:541] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:954] clusterNodes[2]=srv1050
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:541] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:954] clusterNodes[3]=srv1051
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:541] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:959] nodeList[0]=srv1050
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:542] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:959] nodeList[1]=srv1051
[AWT-EventQueue-0] [5:5:19:542] [Cluster.verifyNodeList:959] nodeList[2]=srv1052
I've compared the /etc/hosts file and the o/p of olsnodes -n -p -i command and its the same for all 4 nodes. Even the /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf file is also the same for all 4 nodes. I guess I'm missing something silly but unable to pin it.
Thanks,
M

Hello Chandra,
I guess you hit the jackpot ;) Entries for crs and the 10204 home are as follows:
<HOME NAME="CRS_10203" LOC="/u01/crs/oracle/product/10.2.0.3/crs_1" TYPE="O" IDX="1" CRS="true">
<NODE_LIST>
<NODE NAME="srvr1012"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1013"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1014"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1052"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1053"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1050"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1051"/>
</NODE_LIST>
<HOME NAME="10204_oraclehome" LOC="/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0.4/dbee_1" TYPE="O" IDX="4">
<NODE_LIST>
<NODE NAME="srvr1050"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1051"/>
<NODE NAME="srvr1052"/>
</NODE_LIST>
</HOME>
srvr1053 is missing here in this list...So I guess it must be because of this that its not showing up, isnt it? if yes can we manually add the entry under 10204 home and also remove the obsolete srvr1014,13,12 entries from crs home ( since they r no longer in the same cluster) ?

FF not showing complete list of bookmarks on bookmarks button, why?
For some reason when i click the bookmarks button i am not seeing all of my bookmarks anymore.
I am not sure if this happened in a update or if something went wrong with the browser.
But when i do ctrl-shift-b i can still see they are all there.
Just not when i use the bookmarks button.Note that such issues can be caused by a problem of the places.sqlite database file.
If it happens again then you can check for problems with the <b>places.sqlite</b> database file in the Firefox profile folder.

To show the list in complete format when creating an background job
Hi ,
I need to show the list in full format when after running a report in background.
In sm37 after the job run the the full list is not shown.
when I click on 'Show complete list 'it will show the complete list.
My requirement is I want this option in default .Is there any thing we can do by configuration or is there any chance of enhancement
kindly help
thanks and regards,
Subeesh KannottilHi Subeesh,
It is one of the standard setting provided by SAP for extracting spool output.In most of the case it is sufficient. Incase of special requirement we can do as below.
In SM37,open the spool and click the icon Display in Maximum Width or (Shift+F4). Then the complete list will be displayed.

Complete list of currencies in Pages'09...
Hi all,
Been searching around and I couldn't get around this problem.
I'm trying to prepare a document for work (Pages'09) with item prices listed in a table. The problem is, I'm trying to list the price in Brunei (B$) and Malaysian (RM) currencies but it doesn't seem to be available in the currency list on the inspector menu. I know Numbers'09 has a "Show complete list of currencies in Cell Inspector" in the General Pane under Preferences, but is there one for Pages'09 as well cause i couldn't find it.Hi king.agong!
I had a brief look in both Pages and Number and the have the same currency list. They don't have all the worlds currency in the lists, nor could I find those you are looking for.
Correction: I have found the complete list you mentioned in Numbers.

I am not a Numbers savvy, but can't you set it up in Numbers and then Copy the cells and paste them in Pages? -
We have Oracle datbase 11gR1 in RAC node with Oracle ASM.Recently our database server got crashed and we are trying to restore back services.
Using Snapshot technologyBusiness copy we had synced all our disk on storage level. Post this when we are trying to start ASM instance on node 1 it is coming and showing all diskgroups but on other node it is throwing errot with missing e diskgroup.
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15040: diskgroup is incomplete
ORA-15042: ASM disk "5" is missing
Expert please share your views.
Thanks,
TusharThe I/O fabric layer on the other node failed to mount all storage LUNs - resulting in ASM being unable to mount a diskgroup as there are missing disks in that group.
Rebooting is exactly what could be needed to reset the h/w and infrastructure used by that node, in order for it to see all the storage disks again. As node 1 sees all storage disks (and is working), the disk itself on the storage system is intact and usable.
What is the o/s? What is the fabric layer? What is used on o/s for dealing with the I/O fabric layer? -
Urgent! the name of tree node can't show completely
I create a tree dynamicly using data from database;when i want to add a new node to the tree.it will be added at the right place imediately but it's name will not show completely.
for example, i want to add a new node which name is "department",but the name on the tree it shown will be "departm...", i don't know what cause the 3 dot followed and how to remove the dot.
Can anybody tell me why? Thanks a lotI use a IconNode which extend DefaultMutableTreeNode to create the node.
following is the IconNode:

import javax.swing.*;
import javax.swing.tree.*;

int index = str.lastIndexOf(".");
if (index != -1) {
return str.substring(++index);
else {

Why does lun show different size on different rac nodes?
Hi all,
We are trying to increase ASM disk space and with respect to it when we are trying to allocate more space this question came across my mind. Now this was previously configured by my previous SA.
[root@oracledbtest1 ~]# /etc/init.d/oracleasm querydisk -d `/etc/init.d/oracl
cut -f2,10,11 -d" " | perl -pe 's/"(.*)".*\[(.*), *(.*)\]/$1 $2 $3/g;' |
while read v_asmdisk v_minor v_major
do
v_device=`ls -la /dev | grep " $v_minor, *$v_major " | awk '{print $10}'`
echo "ASM disk $v_asmdisk based on /dev/$v_device [$v_minor, $v_major]"
done
**ASM disk ASM01 based on /dev/dm-15 [253, 15]**
**ASM disk ASM02 based on /dev/dm-14 [253, 14]**
node 2:
[root@oracledbtest1 ~]# /etc/init.d/oracleasm querydisk -d `/etc/init.d/oracleasm listdisks -d` |
cut -f2,10,11 -d" " | perl -pe 's/"(.*)".*\[(.*), *(.*)\]/$1 $2 $3/g;' |
while read v_asmdisk v_minor v_major
do
v_device=`ls -la /dev | grep " $v_minor, *$v_major " | awk '{print $10}'`
echo "ASM disk $v_asmdisk based on /dev/$v_device [$v_minor, $v_major]"
done
**ASM disk ASM01 based on /dev/dm-13 [253, 13]**
**ASM disk ASM02 based on /dev/dm-14 [253, 14]**
Now, can any one help me in telling why are my LUN's showing different sizes on RAC and also the best way to allocate the space to the disks in the above scenario.
P.S I am fairly new in posting to the OTN. Please excuse if I am not clear with my question.
Edited by: 902932 on Apr 8, 2013 8:25 AMwhy you think the space is different between the 2 nodes?
The devices are different, that's ok, dm- is the device mapper name, and several devices will create dm-* like entries, so it's ok to have them different.
When you add a disk, you should follow an approach like:
Present the disk on the storage
Refresh the luns on all the nodes
Create the oracleasm disk on one node
refresh the oracleasm disks on all the nodes
verify the new oracleasm disk is present on all nodes in /dev/oracleasm/disks/*
At this point, you can use asmca or sqlplus in the +ASMn instance to make your asm diskgroup to grow, or create a new disk group -

anyone have an idea?? pleaseDear All,
I recently upgrade the Few RAC setups with Oracle 10g Patchset 3 (10.2.0.4) on Linux Servers
In one of the RAC setup, found servers are rebooting daily. The same setup was working fine and problem started only after applying the Patchset. Checked all the logs and Found nothing relevant.
Then i checked the things which added with this Patchset.
The Most interesting found , Oracle Added a New Daemon- oprocd.
# ps -efl | grep oprocd
4 S root 6440 6063 0 -40 - - 2114 - Mar03 ? 00:00:00 /opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/bin/oprocd.bin run -t 1000 -m 500 -hsi 5:10:50:75:90 -f
These are Interesting Points about above line
1.This Process is running by root user
2. With Highest Priority -40
3. Probing every Seconds (t 1000)
4. waiting CPU response for 500 Milliseconds ( -m 500 means margin time is 500 Milli Seconds)
5. Process status is Fatal (-f)
Now I am concluding these points- This daemon will probe cpu every second and wait for response within 500 Mill seconds. If in the 500 Milli second not getting any response from the cpu, will assume the CPU is hang and try to Reboot the Machine. The OPERATING SYSTEM will not get enough time to write the system logs and server reboots.
So the solution is increase the Margin time for 500 Milli second to 10 seconds.
These are following steps to increase the Margin time.
Please Remember- The Modification process need Downtime and You need to stop cluster service in all member nodes.
1. Stop The CRS Process
#crsctl stop crs
#<CRS_HOME>/bin/oprocd stop
2. Ensure that Clusterware stack is down and not running
#ps -ef |egrep "crsd.bin|ocssd.bin|evmd.bin|oprocd"
This should return no processes.
3. From one node of the cluster, change the value of the "diagwait" parameter to 13 by issuing the command as root:
#crsctl set css diagwait 13 -force
4. Check if diagwait is successfully set.
#crsctl get css diagwait
5. Restart the Oracle Clusterware on all the nodes by executing:
#crsctl start crs
(Note- If facing any problem to restarting the CRS services, ASM and Database, You can reboot the Nodes.The Cluster and Database will come automatically due to init startup scripts.)
6. The oprocd daemon process will show with -m 10000
# ps -efl| grep oprocd
# 4 S root 6440 6063 0 -40 - - 2114 - Feb02 ? 00:00:00 /opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/crs/bin/oprocd.bin run -t 1000 -m 10000 -hsi 5:10:50:75:90 -f
Rollback Procedure-
If You need to unset oprocd value due any reason
#crsctl unset css diagwait
I am confident, The abnormal RAC Node restart problem will solve with this workaround.

Error -1618 when trying to uninstall, and shuffle doesnt show up in sources
Hello, and thanks for your time,
well i recently had trouble with my ipod shuffle, at first the green light wouldnt turn off, so then i reset it (toggeled the switch up and down) and then it no longer had any songs on it. Fine, so then i attempted to plug it back into my computer through a usb cord, and it wouldnt recognize it, so i tried the other six, and still no luck. I then uninstalled itunes and the ipod programs, and installed them once more. However they werent functioning properly because my computer froze or the programs wouldnt run (programs ei. ipod updater) so i uninstalled once again and attempted to install them once more. However i couldnt, an error interrupted the process and it didnt fully download, so i tried to uninstall, and and error box, during the uninstallation process pops up and says (Error -1618 Another installation is already in process Complete that installation before proceeding with this install). So i can no longer uninstall it to reinstall it. Please help, its driving me nutsmy ipod 512MB (First Generation)shuffle is not
reconized in itunes,My computer, or in yamipod.
Before when i plugged it in it did nothing, its light
doesnt came on so it didn't charge. But now it does
charge BUT It dont show up in iTunes, My computer,
yamipod. In yanipod it says 'please plug your ipod to
continue. In iTunes it doesnt even show up in the
Sources list. And in My computer it doesnt show up.
It doesnt even show up as storage/removable device.
SO I Cant add any new songs. AND I hav so many new
song i want 2 add. I have tried other computers and
did most of what teh Apple articles said,even the
ipod shuffle like Reset Utility. I was given this
shuffle as a girt on June 14 2006. My shuffle had the
problem of not being reconized at all once before but
after a couple of weeks it went away.
Go here to find out if it's still covered by warranty:

I have done all the steps to remove one RAC node but got stuck at the step of running rootdelete.sh file from $CRS_HOME/install directory as I don't have this file in windows environment.
What is the equivalent file for rootdelete.sh on windows platform. I want to run this to remove the node info from the clusterware entry.
Is there a good document that explains about removing the node on windows platform.Hello,
You need to run the following steps to remove a node from a RAC cluster on Windows platform:
Perform the following steps on a node other than the node you want to delete:
1. Run the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) utility to delete the instance.
2. Then run the Net Configuration Assistant (NetCA) to delete the listener.
3. If the node that you are deleting has ASM instance, then delete the ASM instance using the srvctl stop asm and srvctl remove asm commands.
4. Run the command srvctl stop nodeapps -n nodename of the node to be deleted to stop the node applications.
5. Run the command srvctl remove nodeapps -n nodename of the node to be deleted to remove the node applications.
6. Stop isqlplus if it is running.
7. Run the command setup.exe -updateNodeList ORACLE_HOME=Oracle_home ORACLE_HOME_NAME=Oracle_home_name CLUSTER_NODES=remaining
nodes where remaining nodes is a list of the nodes that are to remain part of the cluster.
Perform the following steps on the deleted RAC node:
1. Run the command setup.exe -updateNodeList -local -noClusterEnabled ORACLE_HOME=Oracle_home ORACLE_HOME_NAME=Oracle_home_name CLUSTER_NODES="".
Note that you do not need a value for "" after the CLUSTER_NODES= entry in this command. If you delete more than one node, then you must run this command on every deleted node to remove the Oracle home if you have a non-shared Oracle home (non-cluster file system) installation.
2. On the same node, delete the Windows Registry entries and ASM services using Oradim.
3. From the deleted RAC node, run the command Oracle_home\oui\bin\setup.exe to start the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI). Select Deinstall Products and select the Oracle home that you want to de-install.
4. Then to delete the CRS node, from a remaining node run the command crssetup del -nn node_name of the deleted node, node number
5. Then run the command setup.exe -updateNodeList ORACLE_HOME=CRS home ORACLE_HOME_NAME=CRS home name CLUSTER_NODES=remaining nodes where remaining nodes is a list of the nodes that are to remain in the cluster.
6. Then on the deleted CRS node, run the command setup.exe -updateNodeList -local -noClusterEnabled ORACLE_HOME=CRS home ORACLE_HOME_NAME=CRS home name CLUSTER_NODES=""
7. Remove the Oracle home manually from the new node if the home is not shared and then manually remove the HKLM/software/Oracle registry keys and the Oracle services. 7
8. After adding or deleting nodes from your Oracle Database 10g with RAC environment, and after you are sure that your system is functioning properly, make a backup of the contents of the voting disk using the dd.exe utility. The dd.exe utility is part of the MKS toolkit.
ASM Instance Cleanup Procedures after Node Deletion on Windows-Based Platforms
The delete node procedure requires the following additional steps on Windows-based systems to remove the ASM instances:
1. If this is the Oracle home from which the node-specific listener named LISTENER_nodename runs, then use NetCA to remove this listener and its CRS resources. If necessary, re-create this listener in another home.
2. If this is the Oracle home from which the ASM instance runs, then remove the ASM configuration by running the following command for all nodes on which this Oracle home exists:
srvctl stop asm -n node
Then run the following command for the nodes that you are removing:
srvctl remove asm -n node
3. If you are using a cluster file system for your ASM Oracle home, then run the following commands on the local node:
4. rd -s -q %ORACLE_BASE%\admin\+ASM
delete %ORACLE_HOME%\database\*ASM*
5. If you are not using a cluster file system for your ASM Oracle home, then run the delete command mentioned in the previous step on each node on which the Oracle home exists.
6. Run the following command on each node that has an ASM instance:
oradim -delete -asmsid +ASMnode_number

Hey guys i am experiencing a disturbing scenario, i have a 2 RAC node cluster . The problem is that the second listener is not registering any connections . I have verified the services of listener using lsnrctl status (the default name is LISTENER), i also have verified the local and remote listener parameters they are fine but running the fol query shows count =0 against inst_id=2;
SQL > select count() from gv$session where username='XYZ' and inst_id=2;*

Any help is appreciated in this regard please.Yeah i know very well the purpose of SCAN . But web admins are sticking to the vip . Well here is the output of lsnrctl status:-

Changes from iWeb 08 to iWeb 09 - is there a complete list anywhere?
Hi all -
I just upgraded from '08 to '09. Before I start mucking around too much, I'm wondering if there is a complete list of the changes out there somewhere.
Thanks,
roxpatWhat a flippin' disaster. You were correct, Roddy. I updated one page on my website - the front page (very poor decision) - and iWeb 09 completely screwed it up. The WSYIG concept is totally gone from iWeb 09. Everything looked fine in iWeb itself, but when I uploaded it to the server the paragraphs were spaced differently, text boxes were larger than they should be and were placed differently than what they showed up as in iWeb itself. I spent a good hour just trying to make it look decent again.
This weekend I will revert back to iWeb 08 until I hear that 09 is working properly. Boooooooo Mac - what were you thinking??? -
Hi,
I'm new to the Flex field. I got a task where i have a tree (TREE is the id) with X and Y as nodes. In X i have got a list of pages(dataprovider is array collection) added dynamically(means User can configure the pages).On selecting last item(last page) in the list of X node, the view will be presented with a component say Xlast on the right side which is in view stack. In that component , there is button called NEXT which has to be greyed out for the last page. I tried by calling the below code on viewChange event
if(viewstack.selectedchild == XlastpageId)
Nextbtn.enabled = false;
but this will work only when we know XlastpageId is the lastpage for the tree. but how to implement this when we dont know which is the last page of the X node in a Tree.
I also tried by calculating the children of the tree on tree click event which is
if (Tree.selectedItem == TREE.numChildren - 1)
Nextbtn.enabled = false;
i know this is wrong because we have 2 children for the tree( X and Y) so it is showing 2-1 and the button is greyed out for the first click.
Please help me out.
Thanks in Advance,
SwHi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to monitor the last login user’s details.
There is no out of the box way to achieve it in SharePoint.
We can use cookie to be a flag for checking whether there is an user just log in. After the page loaded, if the cookie is null, it suggests that there is an user just log in our site, then we
can get this user’s information using JavaScript Object Model and add the information into a custom list. With this list, we can monitor user’s login details.
