DBconsole is terminated with signal 99 from time to time in 10g RAC!!

Hi, all.
The database is 2 node RAC 10.2.0.2.0 on 32-bit Windows 2003 EE SP1.
We are not using Grid Control. I installed Enterprise Manager by using
DBCA.
From time to time, Console and agent processes are restarted "automatically".

Dear DBMS_Direct.
Thanks for your reply.
There are errors in emagent.trc and emoms.trc.
But I do not know what they mean.
There are several log files in sysman log dictory.
1. emoms.trc
2. emoms.log
3. emagent.trc
4. emagent.log
5. emdb.nohup
6. emdctl.trc
7. emagent_perl.trc
What processes are writing log to these files and what do they mean?
Thanks and Regards.

  • I can't restore 'library' with support files from Time Machine

    backup - I can't restore 'library' with support files from Time Machine - Ask Different
    Due to an accident, my entire applications folder with all the support files, including plists and caches got deleted.
    I tried restoring by files from the most recent Time Machine backups but I cannot retrieve my applications with the support files.
    I even tried it with migration assistant on a new image.
    Is this impossible?
    Must I start from scratch?
    Details of the ‘accident’
    I was using this app called ‘AppCleaner’ that also automatically deletes related support files which are normally left behind if one simply trashes an Application.
    In the search view, I typed the app name and I selected all the apps in the results using Command + A. Unfortunately, this selected every single Application in the Applications Folder in the background and I trashed and deleted all files.
    Anyway.
    I tried to restore the applications and library from my Time Machine Back-ups but failed to do so because I didn’t have enough space to restore. (I have a 11inch Macbook Air 2012 64GB SSD
    When I tried to restart in recovery mode, I had the same problem, I was disallowed the option to restore using my time capsule backups because my SSD didn’t have enough space for the backup.
    I then tried to restore it to a totally different but new image on a 64GB USB3.0 Sandisk USB Stick, but the process stopped after hours of being stuck around 30.4 percent and the computer was unable to boot, leaving me with a persistent verbose message suggesting it couldn’t identify the os, kernel or anything.
    I finally tried restoring the state using migration assistant on the very same SSD that had my files missing. This happened successfully and I have all my applications in the applications folder.
    But now I have 13GB free (I had 2GB before) and all my application support files, saved states, preferences, caches and customizations are gone.
    Basically, it feels like I just got a new macbook with my documents and itunes folder loaded on to it.
    How can I get my apps back to the pre-deletion state or is this impossible? Do I have to start from scratch? I thought my Time Machine Backups would restore it to exactly the same state, am I wrong?

    Can you simply navigate to your Time Machine backup with the Finder? Treat it like an external hardrive and just look for your old Applications folder. /Applications/
    Also, quite a few apps put config and support files in ~/Library/Application\ Support/
    So you may be able to get the files from there as well.

  • How to restore MBP with dual drives from time machine

    Hi one and all. Hoping I can get some help here. My trusty mid 2010 i5 MBP's hdd died on me the other day, which isn't really the problem, as I've got two time machine back-ups. The issue is that in my wisdom I decided to swap out my old (and nearly full) 500 GB HDD with a 240 GB SSD (Crucial M500). I then loaded OSX 10.6.3 via the dvd that came with my MBP, formatting the SSD in the process. Then promptly removed the optical drive for a Samsung 1TB drive, formatted it and started transferring all my data over via the migration assistant.
    I put everything other than photos, movies and some documents on the SSD, with the space hungry images, movies and docs going on the HDD. Now I'm assuming that because my boot drive (the SSD) is smaller than the time machine back-up (about 480 GB), this was the only way to do it? Doesn't really sound like I've got much of a problem then does it? Well, I then attempted to update the OS to OS X 10.6.8 so I could update again to mavericks. I installed the update to 10.6.8 and now I'm stuck in a perpetual log-in loop. The password is correct, it starts to log-in, then blue screen and back to log-in... repeat to fade or until you feel like giving your mac a Basil Faulty style thrashing, which ever comes first.
    I've ordered a thumb drive with Lion 10.7 on so that I can attempt to try again (really can't be bothered to re-install the optical drive), but I was hoping someone may have experienced this kind of issue before and have some kind words of wisdom. No worries if not, I'll just go outside and try to find a decent branch to thrash my previously loved mac with
    Cheers
    Rich

    Right well it appears I have further complicated things for myself. Whilst I was waiting to sort out my MBP, I restored from time machine to my mac mini so that I had a machine to work from. Then I fixed my MBP by installing new drives (SSD and HDD where the optical drive used to be), and using migration assitant to copy everything over from time machine. So now I technically have two machines the same.
    Only problem is when I try to update the MBP with Mavericks it tells me it cannot install on this machine. Is this because I did restored the same original mac to two new machines?

  • Using Clob with TopLink 9.0.4.5 and Oracle 10g RAC

    I am trying to store an XML file in a Clob type field of a DB table using TopLink 9.0.4.5 and Oracle 10g RAC and need some guidance about how to do it. I got some directions to start it with the Tip "How-To: Map Large Objects (LOBs) to Oracle Databases with OracleAS TopLink" but still need some more helps.
    When using the Oracle JDBC OCI driver, the tip gives the code block for a Clob field:
    DirectToField scriptMapping = new DirectToField();
    scriptMapping.setAttributeName("script");
    scriptMapping.setFieldName("IMAGE.SCRIPT");
    descriptor.addMapping(scriptMapping);
    As I understand, TopLink creates instances of the Descriptor class at run time for each of the descriptor files and stores them in a database session, where is the proper place (in SessionEvent of TopLinkSessionEventHandler?) for me to get a reference to such an instance of my Descriptor class in Java code so that I can add the above mentioned additional Mapping? Are the above String values of "script" and "IMAGE.SCRIPT" predefined in TopLink API? Can I accomplish the same thing just using the TopLink Workbench tool instead? If yes, please advise the detailed steps to do so.
    The tip also states to call the following code in case of using Clob:
    DatabaseLogin login = session.getLogin();
    login.useStringBinding();
    Should the above 2 lines of code be called after the following lines of code?
    SessionManager sessionManager = SessionManager.getManager();
    Server serverSession = (Server)sessionManager.getSession("MY_SESSION_NAME");
    Besides the above extra coding for the Session and Descriptor Mapping, is there any special handling in between Data model and DB table mapping? Can I map a Java String type to a DB Clob field using the Direct-to-field mapping?
    Appreciate any help.

    Never mind ....... I had already figured it out .....

  • Extending network with Airport Express from Time Capsule Base Station

    I have a working Time Capsule wireless base station that's setup and working successfully. I want to extend my network and connect to my stereo for playing via iTunes. I've spent hours trying to get the Airport Express to connect.
    What's the correct basic approach? Time Capsule base and adding the AE to the network? Setting up WDS? If anyone has the proper settings for both the TC and the AE I would be very appreciative.

    I still say this needs to be addressed by Apple on why there isn't 2 different forums for the old Express or the new Express.... Just like the Extreme Base Station. A lot of time is wasted on the forum on which Express a person has.....
    1. Old Express with "g" ????
    2. New Express with "n" ????
    If you have the old Express, you need to set it up using WDS along with the TC.
    If you have a new Express, then you can just check the TC settings for "allow this network to be extended" and set the Express to extend the network. This is much easier than setting up a WDS.
    Good Luck

  • Ok with the apology from Tim about apple maps , but...

    But if Apple are really serious about their clients they should allow iPhone 4s users to downgrade from IOS 6 (that is if you upgraded, unfortunately I did) back to IOS 5.1.1 which contains Google Maps..
    I tried to downgrade, but since Apple stopped signing the ios 5.1.1 firmware , I get an error 3194 and cannot go any further.
    For iphone 5 Apple should allow Google Maps in the next release of the firmware or a Google Maps app for free.
    This is my 2 cents worth..
    Ipnotech

    Apple does not monitor these forums and your suggestion is falling on deaf ears as we cannot do anything about this. We are users like you.
    Go to the apple feedback page elsewhere on the Apple site.

  • GNU compiled app crashes with signal 11: Segmentation Fault

    Hi Community,
    I know this is not a GNU oriented forum, but maybe this is a common issue.
    We have a C++ multi-threaded application running properly in Solaris 9 Sparc. Due to some issues mostly related to the NICs we needed to have the application running in Solaris 10 x86. The problem is that the compilation is ok (always with GNU) but during run time, we have the application crashing in different instructions because of a signal 11.
    It always crashes in a malloc call within the libstdc++.so.6
    It was compiled with the option -mt and -lthread. Is this a known problem? Do you recommend any direction to start seeking for a solution?
    Pls, find attached the gdb outcomes after the crash.
    Thanks in advance, Pablo

    A crash in malloc in multi-threaded code could be a bug in the system malloc or a failure to use a thread-safe malloc. The default Solaris malloc in /usr/lib/libc.so.* is thread-safe.
    A crash in malloc can also be caused by a heap corruption. Probably the most common causes of heap corruption are
    - writing beyond the bounds of a buffer or variable (off by one, for example)
    - deleting the same object more than once
    - using an invalid pointer:
    --- uninitialized
    --- pointing to a deleted object
    --- pointing to an out-of-scope object
    - failure to guard a critical region
    - failing to declare shared objects as volatile

  • Program was terminated by signal 10

    Hi All,
    I am getting error "Program was terminated by signal 10"
    I think doc id 225283.1 will work for be but
    fact: Oracle Application Object Library 11.5.3
    fact: Solaris Operating System (SPARC)
    symptom: Program terminated with signal 10
    symptom: Postscript/Bitmap Reports error out with signal 10
    cause: The Concurrent Managers are running in WE8ISO8859P1.
    The $ORACLE_HOME/gui60common/tk60/admin/Tk2Motif.rgb
    still has it's fontMapCs set to UTF8.
    This is causing a Signal 10 error for Postscript/Bitmap reports run from the
    commandline or through the concurrent managers.
    fix:
    Set the value for $ORACLE_HOME/gui60common/tk60/admin/Tk2Motif.rgb
    Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=WE8ISO8859P1 to equal the env setting for NLS_LANG
    $NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1.
    If these are not in sync, a signal 10 error will be produced.
    so above fix I am confused because I have follwoing.
    the value for NLS_LANG is American.America.US7ASCII
    and the value in the file /global/applstk/prod3_ifmisnode/prod3ora/8.0.6/guicommon6/tk60/admin/Tk2Motif.rgb is
    !Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-2=EE8ISO8859P2
    Please advise what change do I need.
    This is error is coming some time only I think when the volume of data is very big.

    Hi,
    answer : what values should I put here?
    I think this line starting with "!" meaning it is commentedRemove the ! mark and set this parameter to match the value of the database chanracter set.
    I have done this with active users completed without any error.
    It is with data because when I run for particular department then it ok.
    But when i run for all the department then it is completing with signal 10 or signal 11.In this case, I believe this error is irrelevant to the value of Tk2Motif*fontMapCs.
    Please enable trace and debug for this concurrent program, and check the log file for details about the error.
    Note: 759389.1 - How Can Trace and Debug Be Turned On For A Concurrent Request?

    Hi Eric, brtools 700 do have the compression function??  below is the answer form sap support.
    The error in compressing database files is caused by a bug in mkszip
    tools. This error depends not necessarily on the size of the file but
    probably on its contents. Since mkszip is a 3. party tool (MKS -
    Mortice kern System Inc.) SAP cannot provide a fix for this.
    There are two alternatives for using mkszip:
    1. Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) backups to disk with compressed save
    sets. Here is the parameter settings for it:
    backup_dev_type = disk
    disk_copy_cmd = rman_set
    rman_compress = yes
    Please see notes 1101530 and 968507 p.4 for more details.
    2. BRTools own compressing routines implemented in BRTools 7.10 patch
    12. Here is the parameter settings for it:
    backup_dev_type = disk
    disk_copy_cmd = copy
    compress = brtools
    Please see note 1173119 for more details.
    And i have tried to change the compress tool , such as gzip for windows, it works also.
    Thanks

  • How can I restore an old backup from Time Machine to my iPhone 5?

    I have the iPhone 5 that I had previously transferred my apps and other data to from my iPhone 4. Due to poor battery life, I had to restore the iPhone 5 as a new phone. This helped battery life but now I habve lost my text messages, App data and photos. I use Time Machine on my Mac so whayt do I need to do to get the data back on my phone. I'd like to do this without restoring the phone but rather syncing it with data recovered from Time Machine. I don't want to screw up the battery life again.

    Hi ...
    I've found a solution to my problem.
    Time Machine locates extenal HDD backups differently depending if they were done via a network or via a USB/FireWire/Thunderbolt connection.
    My initial backup was done via a direct Thunderbolt connection. I ran into the above issue b/c the second time when I tried looking for the backup file the HDD was conencted to my iMac and I was accessing it via a network conenction.
    I simply connected the drive directly to my MacBook pro and ... voila. I was able to see the backup, select the iPhoto library and begin the restore.
    Hope this helps.
    BTW - I found this out by reading the 'blue box' selection on this page: http://pondini.org/TM/E2.html
    (Thanks goes to Pondini!)
