DBLINK - job session hang status

Hi all,
I have the following problem:
I have database 92 whom he loads give to you from a database remote through dblink.
Between the two nodes is interposed a firewall and door 1521 turns out to be.
Periodically opened the job of loading goes in hang.
On the remote server is not present sessions while on database local the job it remains hung.
I have not found no type of error on the log, but they are forced every time to kill the job and
to throw again it subsequently.
which he could be the cause?
how he could be resolved?
thanks
Alessandro

It should not be the case . All workprocess fully occupied, means you need to work on to optimize distribution of work processes . Otherwise such issues will occur often, and you have to compromise on the performance.
Refer https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-38580?treeid=DOC-8116 .

Avoid such situation by the perfect optimization as mentioned above . Also configure Email alerts through CCMS config to get alerts on your SPool size and other critical stuffs so that you can be proactive .

  • Jobs are hanging in running status

    Hey ,
    I have some overnight jobs that refresh materialized views over a dblink from a remote db. I came this morning and noticed that some of the jobs where hanging in RUNNING state with "more data from dblink" event but there was no corresponding sessions in the remote db. It seems like the refresh process was already done (by the size of the mviews). Tracing the session is useless (i've tried) since no actual job is being done. The alert log gave no clue.
    any ideas on what the problem is or what to do in order to find it?
    could it be a locking issue ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I think you may need to use normal database hang diagnostic methods to try to figure out what is going on.
    The first thing to do is look in the dba_scheduler_running_jobs view, there should be sessions associates with the running view (you can also check that there are real j0 slave processes running the jobs). Once you have checked that there is a real session that is still running the job maybe you could check the v$session view and any other v$ views that should be able to tell you what SQL statement the job is hanging on. You may also be able to check locks held by those sessions.
    You may also be able to use Oracle's ADDM reporting tools to get some diagnostic info.
    Another possible thing to try is running the job action by hand manually in pl/sql and seeing whether that hangs and possibly figure out where.
    Where do you see the "more data from dblink" message ?

  • Repeating Job Can Hang In "Started" Status On Multi-Cpu Windows Machine

    Dear All,
    I am struck with a know Bug 3092358 "Repeating Job Can Hang In "Started" Status On Multi-Cpu Windows Machine". The Work around is mentioned in Note:307448.1 in metalinks.
    In the above doc for the Fix-3 Another option that worked is to try:
    Upgraded to EM 9.2.0.6 and applied the Apr05 CPU.
    I searched in metalinks to get patch to upgrade EM from 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.6. But not able to find can some tell me where can i get this patch.
    OS: windows 2003 server
    DB:9.2.0.1
    OWB :9.2
    Pls,do let me know if there any other work arounds,
    Thanks for your help.
    Rgds,
    Satya.

    While I dunno the specifics of NT threads, one way to spread 1 thread across multiple processors is by simply round robining the thread between the processors over time. i.e. Thread A spends 0.5seconds executing on cpu 1, for the next 0.5 s the thread is moved over to cpu2 and executed there, then it is moved back to cpu1 and so on...
    I think the Convex SPP used this model, the motivation perhaps being to spread load evenly among all cpus. Made sense in a multi-user multi-cpu system with a real fast bus.
    cheers

    You know you've been spending too much time on the computer when your friend misdates a check, and you suggest adding a "++" to fix it.

  • Sessions Hanging Problem

    Dear All,
    Many of the users have requested me to kill their sessions because of not respoding/hang. Mostly this occur when they run or compile thier SPs (Stored Procedures). I noted that all procedures that contain an insert to a log (user created table) table hangs. As per my opinion table may be lock or in use by any other. But how I can find it. Please let me to know.
    Aqeel Nawaz

    Suppose session hangs during execute the procedure.
    To pass the procedure name in below query.
    select
    V$S.LOGON_TIME,
    V$S.SID,
    V$S.SERIAL#,
    V$S.USERNAME,
    V$S.PROCESS,
    V$P.SPID,
    V$S.STATUS,
    V$S.MACHINE,
    V$S.CLIENT_INFO
    from v$session V$S,
    v$process V$P
    where V$S.PADDR = V$P.ADDR
    and V$S.SID in
    (select distinct sid from v$access where object like ('%&obj%'))
    order by
    V$S.PROCESS,
    V$S.SID;

  • Bw web report plugin http session hangs at the server side

    Hi,
    I am having problems when closing the browser of a BW web report. After I closed the browser by going File->close, I ran SM04 and found out the Plugin HTTP session hangs at the server side.
    How can we terminate the Plugin HTTP session at the server side when user closes the internet browser?
    I did implement a logoff function at my web template, if user clicks on the logoff, the Plugin HTTP session is terminated at server side correctly. But As you know, 50% of time user will close the report by closing the internet browser instead of clicking the logoff. That leaves lots of hanging Plugin HTTP sessions at our server side.
    By the way, we actived our BEX service at the SICF.
    Thanks for help!
    JA

    Hi
    If you want to avoid a blank page with logoff button, add opener=0
    <a href="<SAP_BW_URL CMD='LOG_OFF' ~command='logoff'
    >" onClick="javascript:window.close(opener=0);">Log off</a>
    If you want to close the session via X, use this code:
    create a sapscript function
    function closeSession()
    logoff()
    window.unload=CloseSession()
    However, the Plugin HTTP session isn't killed.

  • How to reduce buffer busy waits, session hanging due to buffer busy waits

    Hi,
    How to reduce buffer busy waits, session hanging due to buffer busy waits.
    Thanks,
    Sathis.

    When I see through enterprise manager I see lot of
    tables with buffer busy waits.
    Is there any way by table name we can check the
    blocks info.
    The simple way is to look at the SQL statement and corresponding table name?
    P1=file#, P2=block#. You can extract segment name(table or index) using this info.
    Query v$bh like following:
    SQL> select file#, block#, class#, objd from v$bh where file# = P1 and block# = P2;
    SQL> select object_name from all_objects where object_id = <objd>;See following doc:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/dynviews_1051.htm
    Or you can dump block:
    SQL> alter system dump datafie <P1> block <P2>;Some excerpts from block dump:
    scn: 0x07df.17e70782 seq: 0x01 flg: 0x04 tail: 0x07822301
    frmt: 0x02 chkval: 0x61d0 type: 0x23=PAGETABLE SEGMENT HEADER
    Map Header:: next  0x00000000  #extents: 1    obj#: 55881  flag: 0x10000000>
    Can we do something at table level that will reduce
    the waits.
    Yes, some methods are known. But before thinking of that, you must verify which block class and which access are involved.
    Typo... always. :(

  • Getting an error in KPI Modeler as "{"customMessage":"failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500}"

    Hi Experts,
    We have installed UISKPI01 in SAP NetWeaver Gateway System for Fiori Analytical Apps (KPI modeler is necessary to model the KPI) but while trying to create and Save the Group, we are Getting an error in KPI Modeler as "{"customMessage":"failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500}". Similarly, when we are trying to edit the existing KPI template and assigning the Variants and Evaluations, we are facing the same error as failed to detect the sap language of the current session language","status":500.
    Any idea on above error?
    Thanking you,
    ~ Mahendra

    Hello Mahendra,
    Check if you have entries in the T002 table of SAP_SSB schema.
    If not follow the steps mentioned in the admin guide of SAP Smart business to populate data.
    This should resolve this issue.
    Note: My assumption is that, you are accessing the KPI modeler in English Language.
    Thanks,
    Debasish

  • Session State "Status"

    I was tickled pink -- now you know I'm being facetious -- to see there was documentation on Session State Status.  (Gotta love all those "S".)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21674/concepts_ses.htm
    The session states are: Inserted, Updated and Reset.  Isn't that fantastic!  And probably even correct.  But ...  Wait for it ...!  Wait for it ...!
    Ahhh!  I can't find any Oracle APEX documentation explaining: Inserted / Updated / Reset!   What does "inserted" mean?   How is "updated" different?   "Reset" "how"?  Reset to "what"?
    The answer(s) may be obvious ... if you already know it.  The rest of us can only wonder, I suppose.
    So, are the definitions documented somewhere?  If it's in a blog, I can't access blogs from work but I can when I get home tonight.
    Thanks for reading,
    Howard

    For a given page or application item:
    Inserted - The value is stored in the session state table for the first time in the session.
    Updated - The value that was already in the session state table acquires a new value.
    Reset - The value that was already in the session state table is changed to null by way of a clear-cache event.

  • Bdc session in status being created

    Hi..
    I have a custom program that creates bdc sessions. For some of the sessions it created, the status of the session is being created.
    when i click on analysis of that session: it has
    1 transaction with 8 screens in new
    1 transaction with 8 screens in to process
    1 transaction with 8 screens in current content
    1 transaction with 8 screens in removed with - ve sign after 1 and 8.
    0 transaction with 0 screens in (created, deleted, processed and incorrect)
    Can someone tell me what might be the reason for the session to be in being created?
    Appreciate your help and will reward helpful answers.
    Thanks,
    RK

    Yes. As I said before thsi is because the BDC_CLOSE was not executed. You are seeign them as being created could be because soem was was tryign to debug the program and woudl have jumped out of the program half way. In this case the BDC_CLOSE would not have executed and the session will remain as 'Being created'. You dont have to worry abt it and it is purely because of partial execution of the program. You can try it on yoru own by gettign into the debugging mode and terminate the program after BDC_OPEN FM is executed. You will see another session with status beign created. The number of transaction in this session will depend on what point did you terminate the program.

  • Oracle session Hangs while calling one package function

    Hi all,
    We are a facing a interesting scenario in our code. Consider that you have 2 pakcages(A,B). Ecah packages is having more than 5 functions in it.
    1. A.function1() makes a call to B.function1() - is working fine
    2 .B.function1() calls B.function2() - is working fine
    3. B.function2() calls A.function2() - oracle session hangs in this call.
    If I copy the scropt code from A.function2() and inline (put) it in B.function1() , the execution gets completed without an issue.
    If i run the A.function2() seperatly it works fine. Only calling from B package it is failing.
    If anyone knows the rooot cause of the issue, please let me know.
    Thanks and regards,

    Do you have/use global variables?
    Moving code from one package to another doesn’t necessarily result in logically equivalent programs. In the version of your program which “hangs” you may have crafted an infinite loop. Instrument your code and see if you really stall or just keep going on forever.
    With this kind of cross-dependencies in your libraries you almost ask for trouble.

  • Getting session hang When calling Function from SQL query

    Hi All,
    I am using Oracle 8.1.7.4.0. I have a fucntion in a Package and I am calling it from the SQL query. When I am firing the query my oracle session is going to hang position and I am not able to any thing. I have to kill the session.
    But this same thing is working fine in Oracle 9.i.
    There are no out parameter and no DML, DDL and DCL statement in this fucntion.
    Could you please get back me what is the problem on it.
    Regards
    SUN

    Check why your session hangs.
    Just a few ideas:
    * Blocking locks?
    * Endless loop?
    * Performance (maybe it is just slow in orac8i and you have to wait a bit longer). Check the execution plans of the SQL statements in your function.
    * Don't use a function, but direct SQL, it is faster in both versions.

  • Session in status active started two hours ago is not in v$session_longops

    I have a session with status active. This session starts two hours ago.
    but if I query the v$session_longops to see how long I have to wait for that session I don't see it.
    And if I execute:
    execute dbms_system.SET_SQL_TRACE_IN_SESSION(429,15706,true);
    to trace the session
    oracle doesn't generate the trace file.
    Does someone know why?

    But since the OP stated the status = ACTIVE then there should be an active query. This is where the full Oracle version is important. Depending on the version if the active code is pl/sql then the pl/sql will not show when you check the v$session.sql_address and there have been issues with v$session_longops also.
    But just because a session has been connected for hours does not mean the SQL it is currently executing has been running for more than seconds. If the process includes commits then it may be nothing more than a long series of very short transactions and hence not long operations.
    Also the following two conditions must be true >>
    Set the TIMED_STATISTICS or SQL_TRACE parameter to true
    Gather statistics for your objects with the ANALYZE statement or the DBMS_STATS package << Oracle 9.2 Reference on v$session_longops

    BUT MY PROBLEM IS IN SM37 JOB BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER event job in released status ONLY
    please guide me if i am wrong .
    REGARDS,
    KP

    It is supposed to be in Released status.
    The BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER job is scheduled to run based upon the event being triggered (from your ABAP program).  The only thing this job does is trigger the event that runs the next process in your process chain.  If you set up the Start variant in your PC to schedule "After Event" and you set the periodic flag, then after the BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER job finishes, it will reschedule itself.  So, there will always be a BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER job in a Released status.
    Again, the BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER job does not run the entire chain.  It only triggers the next processes in your chain.
    Does this help?
    PS.  Are there any BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER jobs in a Complete status?  If not, then there is an issue with your ABAP program.
