DBMS_PIPE package in the library

Where do I find the DBMS_PIPE package. Right now I'm working on migrating forms to 6i. And i got this error in a procedure(G$_GET_PIPE_MESSAGES) which is called in a trigger.
DBMS_PIPE package has
1. PACK_MESSAGE procedure
2. SEND_MESSAGE function
3. RECEIVE_MESSAGE function
4. UNPACK_MESSAGE procedure

dbms_pipe is a database package owned by SYS:

Problems using DBMS_PIPE package

Hi! Im using the SQL Navigator for Oracle to develop PL/SQL code and now I've got a problem with the DBMS_PIPE package. When i use the methods like create_pipe etc. in a normal pl/sql window it works without problems. But when i place such a DBMS_PIPE.CREATE_PIPE... call into a function in my own pl/sql package there's the error PLS-00201: identifiere 'sys.dbms_pipe' must be declared!
what do i have to do to use the dbms_pipe package in a package developed by my own.

login to your SYS schema and grant execute on the DBMS_PIPE package to the oracle user under which you
are creating your PL/SQL procedure:
SQL> grant execute on SYS.DBMS_PIPE TO <username> ;

HT2638 I am using OSX 10.8.5 with iPhoto 11. I have damaged my iPhoto library and am unable to open up my library with iPhoto. When I use 'open package contents' with the library, I can see that all my photos are there. Can I rebuild the events?

I have tried the option + command button while opening iPhoto but this has not helped.

Your next step would be tp try rebuild with iPhoto Library Manager and its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

IPhoto Package Logo is shaded on my NAS - cant open the library

I have moved my libraries to a Synology NAS but I can't locate them when I choose library from iPhoto. The icon is shaded. Why can't iPhoto read the file from the NAS?

iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, exporting, saving edits and sharing the photos.

Unable to load Packaged App Document Library 0.91 in Apex 3

I have downloaded packaged application Document Library 0.91 from packaged applications URL and trying to import it into APEX 3.0.
In Application Builder I am getting an error message that 'Script has exceeded the maximum limit'. So I tried executing the install script as a application parsing schema, then it returned following error in SQL*Plus:

Maybe we need to be more explicit in the readme. You need to "Import and install the doc_library_installer_0.91.sql ... Select to install supporting objects." This is from the Application Builder, select Import. Maybe you uploaded it as a script under the SQL Workshop? Those directions are in the readme for upgrading from the .9 version to the .91 version without losing your data.

So I stumbled across this problem where Aperture 3 will display the following error when opening the image library.
There was an error opening the database for the library “~[path]/Aperture Library.aplibrary”.
One user suggested navigating to the actual library, and ⌘⌥-clicking the library to open it with the Aperture Library First Aid dialog. This however, did not work for me. I still received the error messages upon ⌘⌥-clicking the library.
Here's a little hack I discovered for those of you still struggling. It doesn't fix the problem (leaves quite a large dent remaining actually), but hopefully someone can cultivate what little I discovered.
⌥-click Aperture (not the library)
You should get to the library selection dialog box. Create a new library (bottom right corner) and remember the location of the new library. Put a few random pictures in the new one.
Close Aperture
⌃-click both the old and new libraries and "Show Package Contents."
Open the folder "Database" in both libraries.
Cross check the folders to see if the old library is missing files that are in the new library. If your old library is missing some files (mine was), drag the missing files from the new library to the old one.
Close both folders.
⌘⌥-click the old library.
NOW, I got the Aperture Library First Aid dialog.
Rebuild the library (3rd option)
Wait a while.
Aperture should open up with a folder named "Recovered Folder." Within this folder will be a SINGLE project named "Recovered Project" with ALL the images from your old library. There may be a few albums there too, but mine were all empty so it didn't matter in my case. To my knowledge, I lost all the adjustments I performed too.
This is as far as I got. I have much of my library backed up, so I only needed to copy the most recent photos into the backup. I am NOT reorganizing and re-editing pictures in this one!
As Aperture is a photo-organizing and photo-editing software, I understand that this by no means fixes the problem, since you lose all organization and editing. But it enables one to at least view the images lost. Hopefully a more knowledgable hacker else can figure out how to fix this completely. Unfortunately, I simply don't have the time to continue messing with this.
Good luck to anyone else having issues! I understand the frustration you must be facing, its freaky having years worth of images simply disappear! After this incident, I'm definitely going to configure Time Machine to perform more frequent backups, since my latest backup was already a couple weeks old.

To my horror I have a similar problem and your solution didn't seem to help. To be specific, I get the error:
"There was an error opening the database for the library “~/Pictures/Aperture Library_2.aplibrary" Everytime I try to run Aperture. This happened because my Apple computer shut off completely (due to bad battery) while importing photos from a memory card.
I've tried "option + command" while clicking the aperture application and that gave me the same error message without any other option except to quit the program. I tried "option + command" and clicked the library package but that didn't work either. I tried creating a new aperture library, opening it which I did successfully, and then switching to my main one but that didn't work.
Does anyone know away to get it to work again and have the edits still there?
I'm a professional photographer and have thousands of photos or so in the library so this is distressing. The master files for the photos are located on an external hard drive, but I'm not sure how to access them in aperture. Are all the edits on the photographs are in the external hard drive or the aperture library. Is there any other way to resolve this issue without losing the edits?
Does apple have a support number I can call? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Is there anyway to delete both the photo in iphoto and the image in the library at the same time? I'm on version 8.1.2.

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

Help! How to use a custom package (in the format of .JAR) in Forte4Java!

I am a beginner with Java. I have downloaded a Java package, jacob.jar, from the Internet. In order to import it in my Java program written under Forte4Java, I did the following stuff:
1. Mount this JAR to the FileSystem; (this should include this package to the classpath, right?)
2. Right-clicked the mounted JAR, and from the popup menu choose "Tool | Update Parser Database...";
Next, I create a new Java project with a main class in it. At the head of this class file, I typed "import" to refer to this package. It turned out that the contextual completion window DOES show my package and all of its classes properly. In the body of this class file, I called some of the public methods defined in this package. The contextual completion window showed those methods properly too. Then I built this project and NO compilation error was reported. But, at run-time, an exception of "java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no jacob in java.library.path" was thrown at the invocation of the first public method of this package. I don't know what's happening here. Did I install the package the wrong way? If I can't get this problem solved as soon as possible, I will be in big big trouble :-( Please help and thanks in advance....

I am not sure how exactly Forte works, so I don't know how useful my reply is, but here it is:
Try checking the classpath manually that always helps. Your classpath should contain the directory in which the jar file is.

Help! Photos Library copied to external hard drive, but after preparing the library I can NOT see any pictures.

I am having a tough time and searched, but have not found an answer that works. Last night I copied my iPhoto Library to an external hard drive because when I initially attempted to set up Photos, I got an error that said I needed 88 GB of space for the transfer. I got the iPhoto Library onto the hard drive and reopened the app and it prepared the library. It was talking forever, so I went to bed. This morning, I have this screen...
There are NO pictures in the actual app. I went to the external hard drive and see that the Photos Library exists...
I have tried to hold command and option and restart Photos and I did get a prompt that it was repairing; however, this was unsuccessful. Please help! I know the photos are there because when I show package contents, I see them all in my Masters/Old Masters folders.

Agree with baltwo, though even if you have saved the install app I wouldn't use it unless its been used to install a known good copy of the OS already.
In your case, that probably means start fresh:
Restart the computer, holding down 'command' and 'r'. When the recovery disk window shows, choose 'Reinstall Mac OS X'.

IPhoto library upgrade failed, one third of the photos lost, but the library works as normal. No corruption.

Hello! I recently replaced my tragically crashed Macbook Pro 2008 with a newer model and transferred my volumous iphoto library of 20 000+ photos to my new machine. To be able to use my iphoto '08 library with Aperture I had to upgrade the library in the iphoto '11 version. I left the computer on during the day, and when I got back it seemed to work fine. I browsed my library in Aperture and could see all the thumbnails, but looking closer I noticed a small yellow warning triangle with an arrow in the corner of some pictures. Turns out all pictures from before ~2010 are lost! When I wiev the photos I see nothing but the infinite black of the data void.
Here's how I've tried to fix the problem:
1. Opening the iPhoto Library package in Finder. All the folders for the earlier dates are there, but they are empty. I notice no incorrect or impossible dating, which seemed to be a common problem among users who's libraries where corrupted during the upgrade process.
2. Rebuilding the iphoto library in iphoto. No effect.
3. Recovering the iphoto library from my Time Machine Backup. SInce my old hard drive was just 200 GB, I stored all pictures older than one year on my external hard drive (note that about half of those pictures were successfully imported/upgraded). Both the internal and the external hard drive where backed up using Time Machine on a NAS from Seagate (Black Armor 110, 3TB). I was able to access backed up files on my external drive through Time Machine on my old computer, but since it is now rendered unbootable I tried using Migration Assistant to let my new computer inherit the old backup. However, I could not find the backup of the external drive in Migration Assistant, just my old internal drive. When I tried to access the backup volume on my NAS through Finder it didn't show up (I could find it that way on my old computer).
4. Googling "iPhoto library upgrade failed", or "Inheriting Time Machine backup of external drive", and similarily desperately specific phrases - Nothing useful. Other people seems to have had problems with corrupt Libraries, but I'm not sure that's the case here.
My pictures must exist somewhere on my computer and in a backup on my NAS. I just can't find them! Do anyone have a clue to what may have gone wrong? I'm afraid the computer might have gone to sleep during the upgrade, because I didn't thinkabout adjusting the power saving settings before starting it. But since pictures 1-8000-something are missing, it doesn't seem to have worked properly during the whole beginning of the upgrade, not just during the middle. As I knew I had a backup of the library I didn't worry about upgrading the single functional copy. From now on I will think thrice before doing anything as serious as this.
I am eternally grateful for any answers that might help me recovering my photos!

And exactly How did you Split up your iPhoto library?
c) I used Migration Assistant in an attempt to access the Time Machine backup of my old MBP from my new      MBP (by inheriting the backup). When I made my backups, I made sure Time Machine included the external      HD. But Migration Assistant could only find the backup of my Internal HD with the library of new photos!

I believe you are using your NAS for your Time Machine backup. If your Time Machine backup and/or your iPhoto library is on a NAS you will have problems - both need to be on Mac formatted volumes - the least troublsome is a volume formatted Mac OS extended (journaled)

Manually preparing a new disk for Time Machine
If you want to erase a disk before using it with Time Machine, follow these steps:
Open Disk Utility (located in the Utilities folder).
Connect the disk if it isn't already attached.
In the left side of the Disk Utility window, select the disk you want to use with Time Machine.
Optional: If you want to partition the disk, click the Partition tab and select a layout. Make sure "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" is selected in the Format menu for the partition that will be used for backups. Click Apply.
Click the Erase tab.
Optional: If you want to securely erase the disk, click Security Options to configure, then click OK.
Click Erase.
After erasing, open Time Machine preferences in System Preferences and configure as described in the section above.
Are the iPhoto libraries kept on an external drive formated Mac OS extended (journaled)? Or are they on the NAS? - If you are using the NAS for iPhoto and/or Time Machine that is the source of your problems

Aperture 3 - why does is the library bigger than the original..huge in fact

Dear Friends...
I've been trying to get 100k images into my A3 library as simple reference files. I've chosen file>import>folders as projects as my path and selected "at current location" in the store files dialogue. As a test I used a folder with 12gb of images to see how this would go. It has ballooned out to over 40gb in the library. Crazy...and unusable.
Ideally I want to simply drag in all my files as reference files (in Aperture 2 I did this and held down the apple/option keys and voila, the loaded up just fine). I don't want to carry around my entire disk of originals...just the references in a smaller hd and go on with my work.
What am I missing here?

Some thoughts:
-- Did you miss type during import? Look inside the Aperture Library Package and see how large the Masters folder is; you may have duplicated your files.
-- How big are your masters and how big are your previews? Aperture defaults to a very high quality preview which can actually be larger than a source JPEG. I have my previews set to one size smaller than my monitor and quality 5. This is more than enough for me and results, with mostly RAW masters, in a 1/4 - 3/4 ratio of previews to masters. Remember, even if you reset the preview size smaller, you will actually have to purge the old ones to get the space back. Check the manual for instructions on how to do this. Rob Boyer has written extensively on preview strategies.
Finally, should you purge/rebuild your previews, consider a defrag after you finish. This can really speed up scrolling operations, etc.

Fx4 - No signed digest found in catalog.xml of the library

I'm trying to use Flex 4 compiling the simple example on LineChart and AreaCharts controls in Flex 4 (see in laguage reference of Flex4)
I really cut and pasted in a mxml file.
Then I tried compiling it (simply calling mxmlc passing the suorce file) but I received the following error:
No signed digest found in catalog.xml of the library C\Flex\Sdk\frameworks\libs\frameowrks.sw.
Compile the library with -create-digest=true and try again.
Well, I don't understand the error. I'm not using RSL. I tried to change the <compute-digest> parameter, rebulding the swc files in frameworks/libs but nothing changes (I checked in swc file and in teh catalog xml I have digest tag).
Another info: I'm not using Flex Builder 4.
What do I have to?

There is something basic I am missing. I started over with my installation.
I moved the quick start jar into its own directory and renamed it "adep-author-4502.jar".
I started the jar.
After the server started I went to the package share and logged in, downloaded "es-sdk-pkg-1.0.186.zip", went to the packages and installed it.
I opened the properties for Flash Builder,
Within Flash Builder I created a new "Flex Project for ADEP Experience Services."
Application type: Web
Under server info I connected to the ADEP server
Within the Experience Services step I selected "Composite Application Framework Services" and left Library File Management as it was.
I downloaded the ADEP SDK from experience services server and created a directory for it locally.
Inside of the new application I created a new composite application catalog.
I created an MXML component. Inside the component I used the [Tile] annotation.
Looking inside the catalog I can see the MXML component was added as a tile.
I right click the catalog I created and selected Composite Application Framework, Deploy Composite Application Catalog.
At this stage I get the error for the tile I added.
Looking under packages the CAF oriented packages are:
mosaic-sdk-pkg-2.0.82.zip
composite-app-pkg-1.0.38.zip
I am using Flex SDK 4.5.1.

We are getting an error while trying to create an Universe via Microsoft -> MS Analysis Services 2014 -> OLEDB for OLAP Provider under Connection in UDT -"DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found." We have installed BI 4.1 SP05 in our system. As per earlier posts in scn in BO XI 3.x this issue used to be for improper installation of Integration KIT but in our scenarion Integration KIT is within the BO 4.1 package so no seperate installation is required. Moreover I have checked whether all the driver is present under file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers" and seems everything is fine. But still I am getting this error. One important point is we could use IDT because in IDT still we don't have option to connect with 'Microsoft Analysis Services - 2014 (XMLA)' as we are using Microsoft Analysis Services 2014 version.
Kindly help if anyone has faced the same problem with SAP BO 4.1.

The problem is solved now after installing "OLEDB drivers from SQL Server 2012 Feature Pack". We had OLEDB drivers that comes directly from SQL Server but that did not worked out in our case.

How do I import a playlist on home sharing? I get the songs, but not packaged in the playlist from which they were imported. Now I have duplicate songs in my music library.

You can't import media from one Home Sharing library to another by any other means except selecting the individual items you want to import. For example, you can't select a playlist and then click on the 'Import' button to import all the items in that playlist. You have to select all the items in the playlist before you can click on the 'Import' button. By extension, the playlist on the other Home Sharing computer will not be re-created on your computer. You can select more than one item using the 'Shift' or 'Command' keys.
What you can do is create a playlist on your computer first, with the same name if you want, and then use drag and drop to copy the media from the remote playlist to your playlist. Note that the playlist on your computer cannot be a 'Smart' playlist it must be a regular playlist for drag and drop copying to work.
Regarding 'Smart' playlists. If you create a 'Smart' playlist on your computer that uses the exact same filtres as the ones on the remote library when you import the media from the remote library they will show up in the same 'Smart' playlist on your computer.
