Dde server window

http://www.imagebam.com/image/e3727135730524
Hi I get the above error message whenever I start up Labview 8.
Does anyone know what it means. Labview seems to be working ok otherwise.

Hi anthonyyiangou,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments. I have done some research on this problem and although I cannot give you an exact cause, I have a few suggestions to try to see if we can get rid of this message.
This KnowledgeBase article relates to an error with a CVI DLL but I think the essence of the solution may be adapted to try and fix this problem. It is possible that there are two conflicting versions of DAQmx installed on your machine and this is causing the problem. I would recommend doing step 2 before step 1.
Another suggestion that I have found, detailed in the forum linked here, is that the hardware you are using is unsupported by the version of DAQmx that you have installed. I appreciate you may have no hardware/latest hardware but I just want to cover this in case it is the issue.
There have been problems with users having incorrect privilege settings, forum linked here. Can you confirm that you have Administrative privileges to run your application.
Please let me know how you get on with these suggestions,
Many thanks,

    Hi
I have tried to research these problems I am getting, but have not been able to resolve them.
1st is the above DDE Server Windows iTunes.exe - entry point not found.
This only occurs when I try to start iTunes.
if I click ok , several times, iTunes will start but slowly.
If at any time I have to reboot my computer I get
iTunesHelper.exe - the procedure entry point asl_add_log_file could not be located in the dynamic link library ASL.dll
if I click 3 times OK it goes away.
To this end I have uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my machine then gone to iTunes web site and downloaded the latest version.
Installing it but still get the same errors on reboot and trying to run iTunes
    Anyone any ideas please.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

  • DDE Server Window Error Exiting InDesign 7.5.1 (CS 5.5)

I just installed CS 5.5 on an XP SP3 PC.  We previously used CS2.  I had the user open files created under CS2 InDesign in the new CS 5.5 InDesign.  The files opened and displayed with no issues in InDesign.  However, when she exits InDesign she gets a DDE Server Windows error dialog box.
DDE Server Window: InDesign.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x#####b##" referenced memory at "0x###d#f##".  The memory could not be "read".
I ran all updates for InDesign and it shows as version 7.5.1.
I saw a post in the PhotoShop forums of the same type of DDE error if you open a file and exit without saving, but it does not matter if I save the file or do not save the file.  I still get the DDE error when exiting InDesign.
Any ideas on how to resolve the error?
    Thanks,
    Rick

    of course, missing links! Dóh!
2 weeks ago we upgraded 3 of 8 PC from CS4 to 5.5.
All 3 PC´shave the same issue with the same files. the other 5 computers are working still with CS4, without a problem on the same file!
adobe often causes different problem in the company, so we know about the Adobe cleaner tool.
I have deinstalled cs4, run the cleaner tool and then installed cs5.5. I hope i dont have to reinstall again...
I dont work myself with Adobe products, but i have to troubleshoot, which is not easy if you dont know how it works...

  • DDE Server Windows: Indesign error

    Hi all,
There's one computer at the office which is giving this error when closing InDesign CS5: DDE server windows:Indesign application error
    The instruction at 0x00918063.......
This seems to happen if a file is opened and closed without saving, the program will exit and after 2 sec. the error pops up.
Searched the forums and there seem to be more people with this problem(in Photoshop CS5), but on the Photoshop forum they say they can't help with Indesign errors(altough it looks more like a general CS5 error).
    Specs of the computer:
    Windows XP profesional SP 3
    3 GB RAM
    Dual Core processor
    Enough disk space
Adobe Design Suite CS5 latest updates installed.
Anyone else have this problem and got a fix for it?

I am receiving the same error on two PCs.  One with a
new install of InDesign CS5 and the other is an upgraded from In
    Design CS4.
The upgrade PC does have an instance of InDesign CS3 installed.
It appears to happen only when exiting (no save or change) and has no effect on the program or data files.
Both PCs are Dell Optiplex 755s, 2 GB of Memory, 250 GB HDD (more than 3/4 free) Windows XP sp3 with all critical patches applied.
    Any Fix?

  • DDE Server Windows: iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found

    Windows 7 Home Premium
When I start iTunes I get this error.  I click OK 4 times and iTunes starts and works OK.
DDE Server Windows: iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point QTCF_CFHTTPMessageSetHeaderFieldValue could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll.
I reinstalled iTunes 10.5.3.3 and selected the repair option.  Same error.
I reinstalled QuickTime 7.7.1 (1680.42) and selected the repair option.  Same error.

Peculiar. I don't think iTunes versions 10.5.x need a QTCF.dll to launch. So something odd is afoot.
Can you check something for me? Do a search of your C drive for QTCF.dll. How many copies do you find, and what is their location?
On a 32-bit system, the standard location is:
    C:\Program files\QuickTime\QTSystem\
On a 64-bit system, the standard location is:
    C:\Program files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem\

  • DDE Server Window: "LKSOCK.dll is missing"

I'm running LV8.0.1 on Windoze 8.1 (yeah, I know...but it has been working fine).  I hadn't fired it up for at least a month and started it to modify a program.  I get the following error four or five times in a row:
[DDE Server Window: LabVIEW.exe - System Error]
The program can't start because LKSOCK.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
After clicking through this four or five times everything seems to work normally.
A search of my computer yielded "lksock.dll" in "C:\System32\" right where I expected to find it.  This raises several questions:
    1.  Why is DDE Server even starting (if that's what this message means)?  I haven't used DDE since Win 3.11...
    2. What is "LKSOCK.dll" and why does LV think I need it?  Isn't it somehow related to Lookout?
    3.  Why does it say it is missing when it is quite obiously present?  Is it actually looking for "LKSOCK.dll" and not "lksock.dll"?
    Any help would be appreciated.

To answer your question, LKSOCK.dll is part of the shared variable engine.  Are you running Windows 8.1 x64? It is possible that is looking in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 for that DLL not C:\WIndows\System32
A force reinstall of LabVIEW should add the dll to the correct directory. Here is a KnowlegeBase on force reinstalls.
Force Reinstall NI Software from the Command Prompt in Windows:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/ADD22E807D5A12AD862579EC00760F79
A note is that LabVIEW 8 is not supported in Windows 8. The latest supported version is Windows XP x86. It looks like LabVIEW 8 files can be opened in newer versions of LabVIEW. You could install LabVIEW 2013, and convert the file to a LabVIEW 2013 file.

  • DDE server window error - Office 2010

    dear microsoft team,
i recently installed microsoft office 2010 on my company laptop which is running on Windows XP sp3 platform.
since then, the sofeware is not runing properly, the office 2010 programs stop responding everytime after i open them, it happened in Word, Excel, and Access, i am sure if i use other program in Office 2010 they would be the same. i suffer some data lost
as i had to manually force to close the Not responding window.
another funny thing since i installed the lastest version of Microsoft office 2010 is that, everytime i try to shut down the laptop, the DDE server Window error message keeps showing up, sometimes it comes out
few times, so i had to wait longtime until i can shut the computer.
after tried few times, i notice that if i don't use any of the Office 2010 program when turn on the computer,
i can shut down without hassel, but as long as after i used word, excel or access then DDE server window error shows up when i try to shut down the machine. so i think it has to do with the new Office 2010.
i'd appreciate if you can help here. thanks in advace.
    regards

    Hi,
    1. Regarding this issue, you can check this KB:
The program stops responding when you try to open or to save a file in an Office 2002 program, in an Office 2003 program, in an Office 2007 program, or in an Office 2010 program
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313937
    2. If you received any error code or the error message, please let me know. So we can handle this issue better.
    3. If the issue still persists, let's use safe mode to check issue, you can refer to the following template:
To start the Office program in safe mode
    1. Click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Microsoft Office.
    2. Press and hold the CTRL key, and then click the Office program you want to start.
If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Office program, we can try to disable them. Normally, you could do the following to disable the conflict add-ins in your Office program:
    Disable add-ins
    1. Click File menu, click Options > Add-in, click Go button in the Manage: Com-in Add.
    2. Check if there are any add-ins, clear the checkbox to disable them.
    3. Close the Office program and restart it.
    4. Add one check back each time to the list of Add-In, restart the Office program, and repeat the above procedure. Once the issue reappears again, we can determine which add-in causes this problem and then disable it.
If the problem persists after this, let's try to repair the Office program from:
Start -> Control Panel > Programs and Features, right click the Office program and choose Change, then Repair.
    Best Regards,
    Nick Wan

  • DDE Server Window Application Error

All government agencies are having to apply FDCC (Federal
Desktop Core Configuration) settings on our workstations, this is a
set of policies (couple of hundred) which are set on each PC.
After installing Homesite 5.5 or Homesite + on a pc with
    those settings the
"DDE Server Window: Homesite 5.exe - Application Error"
    occurs with the message
"The exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occured
in the application at location 0x7c812a5b.".
After I click OK I receive another error by title
    "Application Error" with message
"Exception EOleSysError in module HomeSite5.exe at 0008D7A5.
Class not registered.", then finally after I hit OK on that the
application closes and I am back to my desktop (no
    homesite).

Strange. You see DDE errors associated with Safari every now and then (when opening email links), but it's very odd to see them feature as part of start-up errors for iTunes, Safari and QuickTime.
Let's try a few measures relating to fixing Windows operating system problems that don't involve a complete windows reinstall.
First, check to see that your Microsoft .NET framework is up-to-date and functioning properly, as per:
[iTunes for Windows: "iTunes was not installed properly. Please reinstall iTunes" message|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3074]
Does that help with the start-up errors?
If not, perhaps try an sfc /scannow as per:
    http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
    Does that help at all?

    hi Hung Tang!
hmmm. just to be on the safe side, please try searching for that file again, after having done this:
Open "My computer". go to the Tools menu. Select "folder options ..." click the "view" tab. Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is checked and "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked, like so:

If the QT file still isn't showing up then, and the fix from that QTfW thread is still impossible to apply, then I think that a
