Deactivate SIM-Card

Hallo!

Uwe

  • How do i use a 3gs as an ipod touch with no sim card

i upgraded to iphone 5 and i have a 3gs that i want to use as an ipod touch , they removed the sim cards at at&t , how do i do it?

You must have a SIM card in the phone to activate it. I've never known AT&T to actually remove the SIM when you upgrade, they simply deactivate the old one. Go back to AT&T and ask for an inactive SIM.

  • HT4623 I buy one i-phone 4S from store wingate house 93-107 shaftbury Avenue,london.W1D 5DA.tel no. 020 7851 0817 on 30/sep/2012.my problems is, I can not activate my phone because i stay in malaysia ( when i connect using sim card malaysia DIGI line) pls

I bought new i phone model 4S from 3 comunication store wingate house 93-107 shaftbury Avenue,london.W1D 5DA.tel no. 020 7851 0817 on 30/sep/2012.my problems is, I can not activate my phone because i stay in malaysia ( when i connect using the sim card of malaysia DIGI line) it does not read malaysia sim card.Pls help me, how should i use this malaysian digi sim card and deactivate this 3 comunication sim card so i can use any type of sim card in any countries.
The phone details are as follows:
    Serial no : 1151NVQLIKA.
My last 6 digit no in my sim 020287.
    My 3 no 07450453838
    My sim no 8944200009770020287

You probably won't be able to use a Malaysian sim card in your phone.  If you purchased the phone from 3, then it is probably carrier locked to 3 and it won't work with any other sim card.
Nobody here can do anything to help you.  You need to contact 3, so you need to ring them or go back to the store where you purchased the phone.  Not a lot you can do other than activate with the original 3 sim card in situ so that the phone will work.
You can try activating the phone with the 3 sim card and then try swapping them, but I suspect that the phone is carrier locked to 3 and you need to contact them for help.  Noone else can do anything really except them.

  • Can you use an Australian purchased ipad 3G in the USA and Canada and can you get Aussie sim card work there

My daughter is going to the US and Canda soon and we want to get an ipad to contact.
Can you use an ipad purchased in Australia?
Also is it best to buy a prepaid sim card here or overthere?

The 3G telecom in the USA is AT&T, so she will need an AT&T microSIM and then to activate a data plan from the iPad.

She can activate the data plan for a month with a bank card and then deactivate as she wishes. Hopefully AT&T will allow an international bank card.

  • SIM-Card (T-Mobile) will be locked! Can´t use 3G. Have to use EDGE.

Hello! I´m from Germany with an iPhone 3G (8 GB) and a two year contract at T-Mobile.
Unfortunately my SIM-Card will be automatically locked (several times a day). No matter what I´m doing. This happens during, e.g. listening to music or when I´m trying to make phone calls. But the fact is, that this happens only if "3G" is active in the iPhone preferences. If I change from "3G" to "EDGE", it runs well and the message doesn´t appear anymore.
I´ve made some test with different options. For example: when I deactivate the fly-modus/mode, the SIM-Card will also be locked. It appears a window with "ok" and "activate".
I took my old cellphone-number (from my old carrier: O2 Germany) to my new contract. Is that the reason for my problems?
I have the best cell-phone on the market. And I have to pay for a service (3G), which I can´t use!
    P.S.: Screenshots are available
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Get a new SIM from your provider (T-Mobile?)
if that dosent help take it to a apple store

  • Switching sim cards between my bf and I

He just brought the iPhone 3gs and he decided to give me his 3g iPhone so he said if I insert my sim card and I activate it on my iTunes then my sim card is going to get messed up so what should my bf and I do?

Call ATT, they need to put your # on his old sim and activate the new sim. I believe old card will not work on iPhones. Since if he ordered it online all he needs to do is call the att # and it automatically deactivate the old card and activate the new card which u don't want to happen.

  • HT1688 I have a damaged I-Phone and I need the contents of my calendar off of it. I did not have Mobile me at the time.  Can I swap out the sim card from the broken phone to a new phone and recover this calendar?

I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two.  This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G.  On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar.  I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?

Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone.  If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events.  Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.

  • ITunes restore iPhone SIM Card no longer works.

Ok, I had all my contacts and information backuped onto my computer so I could easily transfer them from my 16GB 3G to my new 32GB 3GS. After being restored and synced with my computer my SIM Card no longer works. It wont let me place a call or text. When I un-plug the SIM Card and then plug it back in a message comes up saying invalid SIM and then disappears. Also it either has 1 "bar" with the rest flat and no AT&T logo or 3G, or says No Service.

Sounds like you need to call AT&T.

  • My sim card is no longer recognized by the ZTE Open sold on EBay

After 6 month of happy usage of my ZTE Open, manually upgraded to Firefos OS 1.3.
My phone suddenly does not recognize my sim card any more.
I performed some tests with other phones, other operators, and other sim cards that lead me to tell that the problem comes from the phone.
There was no special event that can explain this problem (no fall, no update, no water...).
I tried to retart the phone, to reset it. No way the sim card is recognized.
I seem to be able to call and receive phone calls, but no sms and no data.
    Can you please help ?

Same thing with me, but SMS and data seem to work fine. Only seems to affect Usage app on my phone (ZTE Open C).

  • What steps do I need to take once Verizon unlocks my sim card for international use on another carrier

Hi, I am traveling to Romania in a few days. I called Verizon Global Support and had them unlocked my sim card for the 4s.
They told me there was some steps I had to take after they unlocked it and I will find these steps on the Apple website.
Well I cant find what they are talking about and my search on the internet is not giving what I want.
I see things about Sprint 4s and that u must connect your phone to Itunes to complete the unlock process is this the same for verizon ?
The Verizon Rep told me I will be able to use a Internation Sim but I had to connect my phone to a computer after replacing the International sim and go threw a whole process of Restoring and resetting my phone threw Itunes. Is there true ?  I dont not have a internation sim with me is there any other way to see if its unlock and how the process is ? Do i need to set my phone to only run on GSM when I get there or will the International sim automatically switch the band ?
I know its alot of question all at once but i just want to get to the point.
Thanks any help will be appericated

This is the only thing I could find but it does not answer my question or even what I was told by the Global Support Rep.
Verizon has confirmed (here and here) they WILL unlock the SIM on the iPhone 4S, allowing for use of local SIM cards while traveling abroad (no word yet on whether this will allow for use on AT&T and T-Mobile.) This is different than the jailbreak unlocking method; SIM unlocking through Verizon is permanent and will not affect your warranty in any way.
    1. Meet the following requirements:
    * Must be a Verizon Wireless customer.
    * The iPhone 4S being unlocked must be active on a Verizon Wireless line of service.
    * The line of service must be active at least 60 days.
    * The line of service must be in good standing for the past 60 days.
    * Only one SIM Unlock per line every 10 months.
If you don't meet one or more of the above requirements, call anyway. You may still get lucky.
    2. Insert a foreign SIM into the SIM card slot on the side of your phone (only required to confirm that the unlock is successful.)
    3. Call 1-800-711-8300 (Verizon Global Support) and ask the representative for a SIM unlock. Occassionally a representative may not know exactly what you are referring to; make sure you are not transferred to a different department. You are in the right place. Explain that they should have a walkthrough on how to do this, and that it allows for the use of local, non-Verizon SIM cards while traveling abroad.
    4. Get confirmation from the rep that the unlock has been applied to your account, then check your phone to make sure it recognizes your SIM and can connect (if successful it will roam on AT&T, assuming you are calling from the USA.) You will NOT see an unlock confirmation in iTunes as that is for a factory-applied unlock only.
    5. Enjoy your new unlocked iPhone 4S!

  • In new iPad 4g, when sim card is not inserted, I can not find the enable 4g tap in the setting-cellular data tap, can some one please tell me if this is normal and if so, then when it appears, thanks

If the SIM is out of your phone, find my phone needs a data connection, so could use wifi - IF in range of a wifi and one that it can join (ie. a known network or one that is wholly open so no login required).  Your phone could also simple be turned off, so not findable, or it may have been restored (plugged into iTunes and restored as new) again, making it permanently unfindable.  Honestly, for someone stealing an iPhone, this is likely the first thing they do - restore as new and it is theirs forever.
Find my iPhone is tied to the users iCloud account - the find function is part of the iCloud account's services and it communicates with the iCloud servers over a data connection - either wifi or 3G.
Have you set up your iCloud account on your replacement phone, and is it working properly on that phone?

  • How much would it be to get the sim card reader fixed

i would like to know how much the new sim card reader is.

    $7Billion dollars.
Or simply clarify the issue the device is actually having.
Apple does not repair devices, they offer Out of Warranty replacements for $199 (4S) or $149 (older models) in the US.

Also in order not to pay a fortune for the service is it better to acquire if needed a SIM card only once there?
Check with your carrier about roaming charges.  They are usually prohibitive.  Best to get a local SIM.

  • How do I use my AT&T SIM card for the unlocked Verizon iPhone 5s?

So I am planning on getting an unlocked verizon iPhone 5s but the thing is my carrier is AT&T. So how do I use my AT&T SIM card for the unlocked Verizon iPhone 5s?

If you plan on using AT&T, why on earth would you purchase a Verizon iPhone? Doesn't make any sense. Yea, it will work on AT&T's network, but you won't get LTE, only 3G. LTE requires using a Verizon sim.
This is an extremely poor idea. Purchaase an officially unlocked iPhone, from Apple, if you want to use AT&T's network.

  • I got an iphone from Hong Kong which is locked one. Can anyone explain me what does a locked iphone means. How do I use it in India now, with my own sim card. How do I unlock it???

I got an iphone from Hong Kong which is locked one. Can anyone explain me what does a locked iphone means. How do I use it in India now, with my own sim card. How do I unlock it???

If your iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, only that wireless provider
can unlock it. Contact the wireless provider in Hong Kong to see if they
offer unlocking and if you qualify.
If your iPhone is locked to an AppleID that you do not know, return it for
a refund as it is useless. Only the person whose AppleID was used for
activation can remove the lock. There is no workaround for Activation Lock.
If neither of the above is what you are facing, provide more detail so someone
    may offer a solution.
