Deactivation / reactivation, PSE 9.

I had PSE 9 installed on, first of all, one PC, in 2010, but then when I up-graded to another PC, I installed it on that machine, in 2013.  Just recently I have been getting a warning saying that I've installed on too many PCs and that I have to deactivate one of the installations.  How can I when my old PC has had its hard drive removed and the rest taken to the dump? 
Hoping an Adobe staff member will might see this post and come up with a solution.

The only people who can help you are activation support, NOT regular support. You must use the chat option in the window that hatstead linked. Noone here, and no regular adobe workers can reset your activation count, which is what is needed. Just FIY, activation is tied to hardware, so when you installed PSE on your replacement drive, that was your second activation, since it was different hardware. You need activation support to straighten it out for you. They usually do it right then; it's not as onerous as dealing with regular support and their scriptbooks.

    First you stop giving IMG authorization to users.
    u check for required fields in document splitting,
    and find when they de activated this function,
    if it is very period is very less or transactions are less u better to assign required fields in all those transactions before activating.
    If the splitting fields are not available system will not accept clearing transactions. and your statement of affairs also will show wrong information.

  • Activation/deactivation on PSE 12

    Purchased download of PSE 12 for Wndows Vista in Feb. 2014.  Got it to download.  When attempting to run the program, as soon as I selected a task, I would get a 'run time' error..know that's a registry problem.  Tried uninstall/install several times.  Just recently purchased the actual DV disk for the program..have successfully loaded it but on activation the screen hangs up...windows cog spins, goes nowhere.  As far as I am able to ascertain, I need to probably deactivate the download software serial number or transfer it to this purchase (they are the same number as the download may have been the issue) - download version is NOT on my computer at this time.
    Do I need to uninstall the DV version,
    then reinstall the download version,
    deactivate the serial number in my Adobe account of the download version (if that is possible)
    and then uninstall that one and reinstall the DV version - hopefully Adobe will recognize my new DV version online?
    I have been online with Adobe so many times (but only Customer Care, as I can never get through to support) and it is so very frustrating. 'Outsourcing' - not Adobe's best idea.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, need to get it installed and up and running within 7 days they say.

    ok, I have uninstalled the DV version, and downloaded the online version, but again, when the screen comes up to register, it goes gray and the little cogwheel spins, forever...what do you suppose am I not doing right?  Also, once I get there, where do I go to DEACTIVATE or TRANSFER the serial number?

  • I need to install CS6 on a replacement hard drive and need help with deactivation/reactivation

    I have had a major hard drive crash that is resulting in my replacing the drive in my Mac with a new one, then re-installing my programs onto it. I have a copy of CS6 on the current bad hard drive that is activated. Do I need to deactivate it before installing it on my new hard drive even though it will be on the same computer, just a different hard drive? If so, how can I deactivate it when the drive the Creative Suite is on is bad? Is there a place on Adobe's website that I can log in and manage my activations if I have to deactivate in order to put CS6 on my replacement drive?

    hi. I have the exact same problem. I'm getting the 'configuration' error, and my uninstall application for each application with CS6 'can't be found' since it is apparently an alias. I'm not getting any answers from Adobe and getting frustrated. Would simply like to know how to uninstall or start from scratch. I'll let you know if I hear anything. I posted the question on the 'creative suites' forum.

  • Activation - computer crashed, reinstalled Adobe 8, but unable to submit activation info to adobe - "cannot find internet."  Tried deactivating/reactivating, partly successful, but cannot get print to adobe pdf to work, says program needs to be activated

    My computer crashed a few years ago, and I called Adobe and received help getting the software reinstalled and activated.  Computer messed up again in January and I had to reformat/reinstall everything.  This time I loaded Acrobat and am able to view and edit files, but cannot print to Acrobat pdf.  Error message says it has to be activated.  I try to activate but get an error message

    I cannot get past this message to try submitting again.  Telephone support is apparently no longer available.  I go to online registration and find I'm already registered and cannot find a way to get this resolved.
    I'm having to use a cheesy, free pdf creator program to print to pdf and I'm missing my full acrobat, even though it's old and decrepit.  someday I'll be able to buy the current version, but cannot budget it for now.  Help!

    Looks like we have the exact same problem. Thank you for the description, now let us wait for a solution. Except three computers got fried at the same time at my end, there are four products lost and I have no idea what was where.

  • PSE 10 Organizer zapped by power outage

    There was a major power outage while I was exporting files from Organizer 10.  Now when I try to open Organizer, it opens momentarily, and then a a notice pops up that says:  "Elements 10 has topped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."  Obviously, Windows hasn't found a solution.  I can still get into Elements Editor, but I do use Organizer for all of my organizing activities.  Is there a way that I can repair PSE/Organizer program files without uninstalling the entire program and then reinstalling?  Also if I have to do that, will I have difficulties deactivating and reactivating PSE? I'm using a Windows 7 machine with 12 GB Ram.  Thanks for any info you can provide.

    autoanalyzer, photoshop file agent, dynamic link manager, photoshop server and photoshopelementsorganizer.exe
    -Go to %appdata%\adobe\elements organizer\11.0\organizer and delete the files psa.prf and status.dat
    -Now please try launching Organizer directly from its exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer by right click >> Run As Admin keeping Shift key pressed. You should see Catalog Manager dialog. Create a new catalog and try.

  • I downgraded from CC to CS6, and Acrobat XI is now in trial mode. How can I use the Acrobat X that comes with the CS6 Master Collection disc? Should I uninstall Acrobat XI then install Acrobat X? What about de-/reactivation?

    I've read about deactivating/reactivating with Photoshop. If applicable, how is that done?

    deactivating is done by opening a programs > click help > click deactivate.
    that's not applicable to cc apps.

    I doubt that the event of deactivating/reactivating the DP PA is the cause of your ABAP dumps in //RRP3.  More likely the problem is related to a LC inconsistency, or a userexit.
    Run all of your LC consistency checks, they are easy to do and quick to run.  And, like any other dump, read the messages in the dumps to find out what went wrong.

  • Home Share no longer working in Windows iTunes 10.5?

    OK, I'm not seeing this problem anywhere else, so perhaps it's just me.  I upgraded to 10.5 yesterday on both my Windows 7 machine and my MacBook Pro.  Ironically, I also added a new Apple TV device to the loop.  While attempting to access my library from my Windows box, it wouldn't show up in Apple TV.  I then noticed that it wasn't showing up on my iPad 2 or my iPhone 4, which it previously had.  I launched my MacBook Pro's library, and it showed up on all devices.  Unfortunately, my Windows box stores all of my music.
    I checked all settings under preferences.  I have "repaired" iTunes on my Win box.  Turned off and turned back on Home Sharing.  Reset computer/router, etc. Deactivated/reactivated computer... basically, just about everything I can think of.
    What am I missing???

  • Family purchases not appearing post family sharing

    My partner and I have activated family sharing, we're both on each other's devices as family and sharing is activated; however neither of our respective purchases appear in the other's itunes or App Store purchase history.  I've reset both devices and deactivated/reactivated sharing across both users but it didn't help. Suggestions?

    It's fixed. You should be able to see historical purchases.  For me, the issue lies in an issue that I don't believe Apple has ever addressed--my itunes/App Store ID predates my icloud ID and Apple has never come out with a tool or process to roll everything into the icloud id. This fixed the issue for me: while my correct itunes ID appeared within itunes/App Store settings and my music/app purchases appeared, I logged out and logged back in. Afterwards, my partner's purchases now appear in both the itunes and app windows. The dual username for those two services has caused me several headaches over the years and I wish there were some way to consolidate them.

    Messages cannot order messages according to timestamp to save its life. I ONLY use my phone number to send and receive messages on BOTH my iPhone and on my desktop. I don't use an email address or anything else. I have deactived/reactivated iMessage on my iPhone as well as deactiveated/reactivated my Messages account on my computer in hopes of resolving the issue. It was not resolved.
    Usually, if my computer and iPhone are both powered on and connected to the internet, my iMessages sync up beautifully. If I send a message on my iPhone, it shows it as my last message sent on my desktop (and vice versa). The same is true if I receive a message on my iPhone.
    However, when my computer is offline, all **** breaks loose. For example, I will use my iPhone throughout the day to send/receive iMessages while my computer is shut OFF. At the end of the day, I will turn on my computer and open the Messages app. The app will place some messages (that I sent/received earlier that day) in the middle of conversations that occurred last week (why?!). Sometimes I cannot even find my messages in the application, but this could really just be because it placed them in some obscure location within a previous conversation. The strangest part about these out-of-order messages is that they are TIMESTAMPED all correctly, so I cannot figure out why the app is just placing them in a random order. If I send or receive a photo during the day, Messages almost ALWAYS puts the photo as the most recent message in the coversation (even if it wasn't). Oh, and Messages frequently says I have unread messages, but here's the catch: I don't. Sometimes it will even be bold enough to say that I have "–1" messages. That's probably the most amusing flaw.
    This is the most flawed piece of Apple software I have ever witnessed. It renders the app completely useless at looking at past conversations because they are so awfully out of order. Further, this problem has been around since Mountain Lion was released. Is Apple just going to sit by and let this bug continue?

    It appears to be a known bug and perhaps the next update (10.8.4) which is currently being beta tested by developers, may fix the proble. We can't tell you, as we simply don't know. Although at the same time, I am not having many issues with Messages, but I may not use it as heavily as you.

    I am not a Creative Cloud subscriber, why do I not the get the 13.1 update? Doesn't my full purchase also qualify me for free updates?

    Why do my images appear smaller on my Retina enabled Mac after installing the 13.1/13.0.2 update?
      Retina displays use a higher pixel density than a normal monitor. The individual display pixels are approximately one half the size of previous devices. While working in Photoshop before installing the 13.1/13.0.2 update, as with any other non-Retina optimized application, the number of pixels used is doubled to give a normal, non-miniaturized appearance. This can cause applications to be slightly blurred or pixilated. Thus, when viewing images in Photoshop, the zoom level is effectively double whatever is displayed. At 100% zoom, the image is displayed so that every one image pixel is shown with four display pixels, the same as viewing the image at 200%. With the 13.1/13.0.2 update, Photoshop now displays natively on Retina screens, meaning that image pixels now appear at the much smaller Retina size, thus reducing the amount of screen space they take up when viewed at 100%.

    Known Issues

    Why have icons disappeared?
      Due to changes in the number of pixels involved in the UI, some icons can disappear. If the Photoshop Dock icon is now blank, rebooting the computer will refresh the system and load the new HiDPI icon. Some extensions do not have a Retina ready icon and thus will be blank when you have the panel minimized. In most cases like these, we may have to wait until the manufacturer also releases a HiDPI version of the Extension. Additionally, sub-menu headers may become blank when you view the contents of the sub-menu. For example, if you select Filter > Sharpen, while viewing the list of Sharpen, Sharpen Edges, Sharpen More, etc "Sharpen" itself will be blank.

    Well that might explain things more than I've garnered from the Forums.  I've got a MacBook Pro with Mountain Lion and a Mac Pro with Lion, both with CS6 Design and Web Premium on them.  The Mac Pro updates Photoshop to 13.0.3, the MacBook Pro is "stuck" at 13.0.1.  It won't update via the "Help/Updates" or by downloading and trying to install manually.  AAM gives an error when trying manually; says to contact support.  Other CS6 apps, i.e. Illustrator, do not update on the MBPro either.  I've uninstalled/reinstalled, deactivated/reactivated, etc., to no avail.  If it means anything, I just deactivated the Illustrator app, quit it, restarted, and the splash screen (which shows the loading progress) showed "Try" on it - haven't noticed that before, and I have not installed any trial downloads.  I'm at a loss as to why one installation of CS6 Design and Web Premium (physical/downoad) will update properly on one computer and not the other.
    Am waiting to see if Adobe has an answer.  The apps work, just don't update...

  • Media Encoder CS6 won't make mpeg-2 files.

    Like the title says. Specifically, MPEG2-DVD files. Premiere exports them just fine:

    Googling the problem lead me to various threads on these forums, such as this one: https://forums.adobe.com/message/4402558 which directed me to download the latest update. I did that--I'm now running AME 6.0.2.81, and nothing's changed. The above screenshots were taken after the update was installed.
    So, any further ideas?

    I'm having the same issue here...did you ever figure out the problem? I tried chatting with support but CS6 is no longer supported with chat, only Forums.
    99% certain this is a licensing thing as I've had the MPeg 2 option dissapear from PP CS6 in the past which required a deactivation/reactivation of the software. Can't seem to get past this one this time though.

  • Problem: Firefox + Office 365 + PDF

    Hi, I seem to have found a tricky problem with Firefox 23.0.1, Office 365, and PDF.
    After multiple trials, the problem occurs only when I try to attach a PDF to an email (using Office 365) while using Firefox.
    After attaching the file to the email, the PDF attachment becomes corrupted.
    If I try to open the PDF I created by downloading it back from the email to my desktop I get this Adobe message: "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired". The same file, before the uploading process, could be opened smoothly.
    Apparently:
    1) It happens with all PDFs.
    No change observed if I use PDFs from other people's computer. No change observed if I save or "print" them from a .DOC version. No change observed if I attach PDF found on the internet (scanned images, documents etc.). In all cases, the problem OCCURS.
    I tried by attaching other files (.docx) = NO problem observed.
    2) It happens only if I download the file back to the desktop or if open the file with Adobe through Firefox after it has been uploaded/attached to the email.
    I tried opening the file (after it has been uploaded/attached) with the Office 365 preview mode = NO problem observed (I can preview the PDF).
    I tried opening the file with Adobe Acrobat X Pro = the problem OCCURS.
    I tried opening the file with Adobe Reader XI = the problem OCCURS.
    I tried deactivating/reactivating the Firefox Adobe Reader plugin= the problem OCCURS.
    3) It happens with Office 365 only.
    This is the webapp used by my University mail account.
    I tried with Firefox 23.0.1+ my Hotmail account (which uses a very similar Outlook.com webapp) = NO problem observed.
    I tried with Firefox 23.0.1+ my Gmail account = NO problem observed.
    4) It happens with Firefox 23.0.1 only.
    I tried using IExplorer + Office 365 account = NO problem occurs
    I tried using Google Chrome + Office 365 account = NO problem occurs
    5) It is a recent issue, probably related with newest Firefox version or newest Office 365. I've updated Firefox few days ago. In the same days the University has upgraded to the latest version of Microsoft Office365. Before the updates no problem had been observed.
    My guess: something happens to the PDF file when it goes through Firefox+Office 365 (coding issues?)

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
