Dealing with Latches issues

Working on 10g R2/windows
I had the following issues.
script 1:
script used to get this output:
select name, gets, sleeps,
sleeps*100/sum(sleeps) over() sleep_pct, sleeps*100/gets sleep_rate
from v$latch where gets>0
order by sleeps desc;
output from script 1

slave class create 2123 248 6.20620621 11.6815827
QUESTIONS
Q1:
Looking at this output we can suppose that the system is suffering from library and shared pool latches? If we rely on SLEEP_PCT column
OR
Q2
the system is suffering from the slave class create latch? is we rely on SLEEP_RATE?
script 2

Thanks for your clarification

I think you can safely assume that you know nothing of substance.
Numbers are only numbers unless they have a context. Is a query that takes 0.5 seconds fast or slow? It depends. Same thing here.
Without knowing whether response times are acceptable or not no comment is possible.
Without knowing whether this is an improvement no comment is possible.
Without knowing if there are new issues no comment is possible.

  • Buying new mac to deal with fcp issue

    I have a power book g4 and was running FCP HD and decided to upgrade my camera to HD. However my mAc would not capture the footage from the camera. Having been into the Mac store I was informed of two choices. Either purchase the new
    version of FC Studio or buy FC express. However I was adivsed that my machine was not powerful enough to run the new FC Studio.
    So I bought FC Express. But capturing my footage form the camera was a horribly slow process. I am used the capture happening in close to real time. Now it can take 2 mins to capture a 30 seconds clip. Is this becuase the footage is HD or is it because Im running FC Express?
    If I buy a new machine with new version of FC Studio will I solve this problem?
    Also will my old FCP files load into the new version of FC Studio?
    Any reccomendations for which machine to buy for a bugdet around £1000 maybe a bit more?
    Oh and one last thing, how short do you think I need to make my HD movies to fit them onto a DVD given Apple dont support Bluray?

    Your single processor laptop grade G4 is probably slowing you down considerably when dealing with the realities of HD requirements. That and disk speed. FC Express is probably not the bottleneck.
    You haven't said what flavour of HD you're dealing with, but whichever it is, a G4 powerbook is seriously underpowered to handle it.
    As to an upgrade, for right around a thousand pounds - roughly $1950 American - you can pick up a refurbished 2.8 Ghz Quadcore Mac Pro. Dunno if it holds true for the British Apple store.
    GAH! - just checked and with VAT, it's £1,499.00 in the UK Apple store.
    OH - and as to your question about DVD, since standard DVDs only support SD, you'll have to downconvert and the storage requirements are the same.

  • Is it possible to do something about the heat generation of the phone when using 3G? I would like to know if the new iOS is going to deal with that issue.

    It is a disapointing regarding the heating issue when using the 3G

    Instead of steaming you can just download directly from the cloud.  Don't you see the cloud icon with a downward arrow? You may have already downloaded then then. Turn off iTM and see if the songs are still present.

  • How to deal with corruption issue?

    A couple of months ago after installing Aperture 2, my Imac started slowing down, every program at some time would hang and could not be forced to quit. The machine had to be turned off (control command power) and left off for several minutes. On restart, things would be fine for 1 to several days. It has been to the shop twice with no improvement and I have talked to the experts a couple of time. This is my first mac so I only have a couple of years experience. From all I have read it would seem I have a corruption issue. I set up a troubleshooting account and the computer acts like it did when it was new on that account. Of course I can use none of my data in this account. Where do I go from here, reset preferences, archive and reformat? Please give me some suggestions and directions on how to do it?
    Thanks,
    oldgrandad

    Hi,
    It sounds like it's the same issue I was having. In my experience, as long as important data is backed up, doing an "Erase & Install" from time to time clears out any files/data that is causing your system to run slow (cache files etc). Mine had become painfully slow (I work mainly with images/large files) & was getting a bit frustrating if I was using Aperture & Photoshop etc.
    I also use Techtool Pro to defrag & keep my hard drives in good shape.
    The extra RAM combined with the "cleanse" definitely made a big improvement & all programmes run extremely well now.

  • What's the deal with ie issues?

    I have read a number of posts describing issues with iWeb pages displaying correctly in ie. Is this a bug? Is there a work-around? What use is a web page that 75% of the people can't see? I love how simple iWeb is, compared to more "powerful" applications, and I'm willing to work around its shortcomings. But not being ie compatible is not acceptable.
    I need to design a web site for our elementary school, so the majority of viewers will probably be using ie.
    Any advice or help would be appreciated.

    The main issue surrounds the display of PNG graphics which iWeb is fond of...and which by the way is a standard web graphics format. The bug is with IE and not iWeb. But I understand the desire to want to dumb down a page to be able to be displayed by IE.
    Actually, most PNG issues resolved themselves. iWeb uses javascript specifically to dynamically reformat PNGs so that they can be displayed by IE. The problem with this is that the javascript doesn't do its thing until all the elements are downloaded by IE. So there is a palpable pause in the action while things download. You see grey boxes around or in front of all the PNG graphics and then all at once they appear.
    So the pages work in IE. It's just a slightly different browsing experience.

  • Is Apple dealing with this issue? iPod not recognized...

    I just got my 30gb video iPod today. First it was frozen and not recognized. Tech support helped me get it unfrozen and then it was recognized. I loaded music, photos, videos and tv shows. I disconnected and tried out the iPod all works great. Went to go add more music and not its not recognized. I have the latest version of iTunes, the updater on laptop and desktop, both give the same message. Going through messages here it seems others are having the same problems. This has to be an issue with the iPod. I checked Disk Management but it doesn't show up.
    Does anyone know of a solution?
    For the first 90 days you get one call to support, I've already used that. This just really seems to be an issue with the iPod.
    Any help/ideas appreciated.

    Hope this helps

    Troubleshooting iTunes, iPod Software, and QuickTime installation on Windows
    If you are having trouble installing iTunes for Windows, iPod, or QuickTime software on your computer, here are some things to note and try.
    Make sure you have admin access
    To install iTunes, iPod, or QuickTime software, you need to be logged in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure if you have administrator access, contact the owner of the computer or your system administrator.
    Get the latest Windows updates
    The first thing to do when troubleshooting an installation issue on a Windows computer is make sure you have the latest Windows updates installed—to get the latest updates, go to the Microsoft Windows Update page.
    iTunes, iPod, and QuickTime software for Windows require Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, or Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
    Note: Windows 2000 users should have the latest Windows Installer engine installed.
    Do you see an error message?
    Here are some of the common errors and what you can do about them:
    iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
    Error 1920. Service Bonjour Service (Bonjour Service) failed to start
    Error -1607: Unable to Install InstallShield Scripting Run Time. (Scenario One)
    1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime. (Scenario Two)
    Error -1608: Unable to Create InstallDriver Instance
    1628: Failed to Complete Installation
    Error 1628: Failed To Complete Script Based Install
    Error 1406
    Error -1324: The Folder Path Contains an Invalid Character
    Error 1606. Could Not Access Network Location
    Error 1327 Invalid Drive
    Error 1335
    Error connecting to service manager.
    Error = 0 Failed to install GEARAspiWDM. Installation unsuccessful.
    No error message displays, however the iTunes installation disappears from screen and does not finish.
    If your error isn't listed above, or if the steps in the linked articles haven't helped, here are some other things you can try to resolve your installation issues:

  • What The Deal With This Issue!

    Ive recorded in Protools and currently using Logic 8 and my results are the same. My mixes are pretty good. But my issue is, my final song file is pretty small according to level meters.
    I have friends using fruity loops and nuendo and their mixes are sup par at best but their final file is way greater than mine when comparing them meter wise. A few of my friends bounce straight out of their DAW with no further processing and the song is way greater than mine as far as volume.
    Ive even tried to use some of Logics mastering features but cant seem to achieve greater volume. Its like my final mix is being smothered or something. In the bounce dialog box, normalize is unchecked! This has been the same for me when using Protools and now Logic.
    A few of my friends dont have clue when it comes to mixing and others just do a quick bounce down with NO MIXING for demo purposes but yet when they bounce the song down, the song file is nice and up to zero when mine sounds better but flirting around -7dbs. I dont get this!

    mine sounds better but flirting around -7dbs
    That's the point.......
    Two friend of mine produce dance music and remixes and they usually mix and master at -12dB (with Duende and TC Electronic hardware...).
    I've used Nuendo and Cubase too but I dislike their sound.
    I think that the pushing part must be reserved to the mastering step so I'd be not so worry about the -7dB.
    Just my 2 cents.
    cheers

  • [Solved]Updated system, and dealing with glibc issue.

    I neglected to update/use Arch for quite some time, and decided to last night. I quickly encountered problems and I've read https://www.archlinux.org/news/filesyst … equired-1/, https://www.archlinux.org/news/the-lib- … a-symlink/, https://www.archlinux.org/news/fontconf … -required/, http://allanmcrae.com/2012/07/updating- … e-install/, and many threads about issues with filesystem and/or glibc.
    First, I followed the instructions to resolve the issue with fontconfig.
    <read various threads>
    Then, I landed here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/De … iki:usrlib. I installed glibc-2.16.0-1-x86_64 using the instructions provided. IIRC, I was still experiencing conflicts with filesystem. I came across a thread where a user stated that instructions from Allan McRae's blog (from the link at the top) allowed him to upgrade his system. I tried it out, and I got around the filesystem issue as well as the issue with dependencies linked to tzdata, etc. My issue now lies with the pacman -Su step:
    [asdf@asdf ~]$ sudo pacman -Su

    On an irrelevant note, a red flag went up earlier. By some means, it appears I messed up Arch. Is there a chance I can fix the issue with the kernel or is the best option a reinstall?

    I checked out https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Initramfs, and I'm not sure what to do. I rebooted a few times in attempt to get things going. I'm assuming I need to start by logging in to the live CD as root and mounting the sda in which Arch is installed? I don't know how to mount root nor know the complete title for the Arch partition (sda x,x). Sorry for the hassle.
    Edit: Found https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ch … partitions. Be back in a bit.
    I currently have the temporary filesystems mounted, chrooted, and am in bash.
    # mkinitcpio -p linux
    doesn't work. I tried
    mkinitcpio -g ..... 3.6.10-1-ARCH
    and I received something about 3.6.10 and a module directory.

  • How to deal with the issue of craeting Billing for free goods

    Dear All,
      Now I met with a question for free goods, generally, it's not need to create billing for free goods. But I had used COPA and the profitable document is generated while creating billing. So my question is that how to create billing for free goods. Please give me some suggestions. Thanks a lot.

    Dear Robert,
    The following steps you can do for the Free Goods(samples).
    1.Define new pricing procedure for Free goods through copying the existing procedure.T.Code V/08
    2.If you don't want taxes remove the Sales tax related condition types.T.CodeV/08
    3.Add R100 -100% Discount Condition type to make total value as "Zero" place R100 condition type after the total value.T.CodeV/08
    4.Define new sales document type and billing type for the Free Goods process.T.codes VOV8 & VOFA
    5.Assign document pricing procedure as C-Free goods for those sales document tyep and billing type.
    T.codes VOV8 & VOFA
    6.Define account key seperately for Free Goods and assign that account key to the pricing condition tyep and R100 condition type.
    7.Determine the Free goods pricing procedure with the combination of sales areaDocument pricing procedure(i.e C-Free Goods)Customer pricing procedure.T.code OVKK
    8.Do the G/L account assignment for that new account key(Single G/L account for price and R100-100% discount).T.Code VKOA
    9.Maintain condition record for the R100 condition type as 100% with sales document type as one of the key combination.T.code VK11
    Now when you create Free Goods order system will pick the Free goods pricing procedure(Value with zero)with refernce to that order you can create delivery then do the free goods billing ,and release to accounting with two postings one is credit-price second one is debit-100% dicount.
    I hope this will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • Need help figuring out how to deal with inheritence issues

    So I have these two classes, one's called MC, which represents a Multiple-Choice question, and one's called TF, which represents a True/False question. It would make sense to have TF inherit from MC, since TF is simple a MC question with two set options (true and false!).
    So it would also make sense for the constructor for MC to take a prompt (the question itself) and a Vector of Strings for choices, like so:
    MC(String prompt, Vector<String> choices);
    And then the TF constructor would just take a prompt (since the choices are always going to be true and false) and just pass a preset vector to the MC constructor, like so
    TF(String prompt);
    However, here's where the problem lies. Since I can must call my super constructor first, I have no way to initialize my preset Vector of choices (true and false). I could have a seperate MC constructor for handling this, but a parent class should not have to know what a child class needs to do, right? I need a quick and relatively proper solution for this if anyone has one. Thanks in advance!

    private static final List CHOICES = new ArrayList();
    static {
      CHOICES.add("True");
      CHOICES.add("False");
    public TrueFalse(final String question) {
      super(question, CHOICES);
    }For the record, if I were doing this, I'd make an interface called "Question" and have both TrueFalse and MultipleChoice implement it. If there were similar functionality, I'd put it in an abstract class AbstractQuestion, then have TrueFalse and MultipleChoice extend AbstractQuestion and implement Question.

  • What is the best approach for dealing with this issue?

    I have been advised by a mac expert that the computer should be left running except for extended periods or, as I have been doing, shut down at the end of each day/ Please explain the rationale for your response. Thanks

    On mactalk.com.au there was recently a thread on "When did you last shut down your Mac".
    A lot of people don't.
    Some people (which I think is mostly PC users converted to Mac, or old-timers who live in the past) do shut down daily.
    I myself have only shut my computer off when moving it physically, when there's an electrical storm, when I've been going on holidays, or when there's been some installation issue requiring a restart/coldstart. (I'm not counting "Restarts" for new software)
    OS X doesn't need to be shut down... though an occasional restart can be good for resetting things like virtual memory, etc.
    If you do leave it going, the CRON scripts only run if the computer is awake anyway (at like 3am in the morning), so if you set the computer to "sleep" after a time, then it's no different to shutting down in that regard.
    If you don't mind the extra time waiting for a boot up... then it doesn't really matter. If like me you're impatient, then don't shut down.

  • Uninstall and reinstall LR4 and Elements 10 to deal with computer issues.

    How do I uninstall and uninstall lr4 and elements 10 without running into problems with the number of installations permitted by the product license? Do I need to somehow unregister/reregister?

    deactivate (help>deactivate) before uninstalling.
    but, unless you're changin hardware (hd, cpu, mb), you won't need to do that though there's no downside, either.
