Debit card abysmal customer service

Not sure where else I can say this where Paypal might pay any kind of attention.  I called to give a travel notification so I could use my card abroad.  The first guy put me on hold for 11 mins (I have a timer on my phone) until I just gave up.  Second guy had me go to the website and do an update there until he realized that was for my account and not the card. He had no idea how to do it for the card and asked me to call a diffrent number.  I pointed out that I had called the number on the actual card.  So I asked for a supervisor. But then the supervisor had no idea how to do it either!  Finally after 35 mins total, I got transfered to a person who knew how to do it and it took them 2 mins.  Just like it took my real credit card company 2 mins total. Paypal should be embarrased by such anysmal customer service.  That is how to flush away a whole heap of goodwill.  --And become a named example in my lecture series on the behaviour of "big dumb companies"...

security code. I would request you to clear the cache & the browsing history of the browser too.There should be no further issue in billing cycle, the next billing date is November 5th 2013.

  • Abysmal Customer Service - Complaint

    IAs the buyer of IT products for the company I have always been reluctant to purchase Lenovo... a past reputation of poor quality has always pushed me away.   Over the last few years however I have been pretty much buying any new Laptops and desktops because to date there have been relatively few problems.
    However that has just changed.   I have just purchased a new Thinkpad Edge E330 and on setting up it booted successfully to Windows 7.  I connected successfully to our corporate network and then left it for a few minutes.   Suddenly it restarted and I ended up with the black screen of death and the message that a hardware or software issue has meant I have to repair the machine using the disks.
    It is a new machine and I dont want to go through a whole reinstall so I thought I will just ring Lenovo Customer Service and get them to sort.   Well then that was the first mistake.   First of all they have to send me revovery disks so that I can install window 8 and then revert back to windows 7.  Dont these people realise I have work to do and havent got the time to fix a problem that any sort of quality control should have sorted prior to shipping?   Then of course I pointed out that the Edge E330 doesnt have a DVD drive to which their response was you will have to buy one!   Now of course I know they dont cost the earth but why should I or my company pay for an item of equipment to repair a machine that is obviously not fit for purpose?  I tried my supplier who could only tell me that their distibutor cant deal with it and I have to speak to Lenovo.   I try again...same thing..our procedures dont allow us to replace a machine.   Being pedantic I ask who I can invoice for a new DVD drive to use on their recover disks.   "I am sorry I cannot help you with that our procedures do not allow us to replace a machine".
    So this unhappy standoff has now caused two things to happen.   Firstly my Managing Director has told me never to buy anything from the supplier of the machine (even though it isnt their fault) and secondly I have made the decision that I as purchaser of IT equipment for our group of companies, will never again buy anything with Lenovo on it.
    I know this is petty in the scheme of things but the first rule of customer service is to realise that as a customer I should not be out of pocket trying to fix a problem which obviously lies with the manufacturer.   The second rule is that you shouldnt have cutomer service agents reading of a strict set of guidelines...if they couldnt resolve my problem then they should have passed me to someone else.   And finally Lenovo if you have machines that do not have DVD drives and there is a potential for having to reinstall then the very least you can do is send out a bootable flash drive with the software on it.   I know it is easy to create myself but you know something?   As a customer I shouldnt have too.

    That does sound frustrating. It's a once a year problem?
    If you wouldn't mind sharing we may be able to shed light on it and suggest a solution

  • Customer "Service" is poor

    Verizon Customer "Service" sucks.  Tonight I spent an hour and 15 minutes on hold, waiting to reach a human to help with an internet "not available" (DSL) problem that went away after 30 minutes.  During the wait time, I used my Verizon cell phone to call for more help.  This time, I chose to speak with Sales.  Not surprisingly, I was connected with a Sales Rep promptly.  I told the Sales Rep that the problem is no longer the lack of internet, rather the problem is the lack of customer service.
    After an hour and 15 minutes waiting for Custpmer "Service", I was connected to a human named Frank, in Texas.  Unfortunately, Frank is with FIOS Tech Support.  He cannot help me.  How did I get here? FIOS is no available in my neighborhood.  I have DSL.
    Verizon verified my phone number when I first called up.  Clearly they know what services I subscribe to.  Yet I wait on hold for over an hour to speak with a person who cannot help me?  This is abysmal Customer Service.
    Don't hate the people.  Frank is just doing his job, dealing with each and every call that comes in, no matter if it took one hour and fifteen minutes to reach him. 
    ...Hmmm...maybe they could usurp some of those underworked Sales guys to answer phones for Tech Support.
    ...Just a thought.

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • Fraudulent charges to debit card, customer service...

    I have 4 fraudulant charges on my debit card to Skype. Trying to report it on Skype but get this message every time:
    "Select a contact method

    Help.

    I'm having the same issue. Had my account hacked by some lowlife last week, they got in, changed my billing info details to some random keystrokes, changed the auto-charge setting to yes, and turned on voicemail so that the calls they make get answered. Then in 7 mins my account auto-topped up out of Palpay 6 times to the tune of AUD110, until they drained my PP account.
    Essentially this is a multiple level failing. Firstly Skype shouldn't be allowing accounts to happily auto-recharge 6 times in 7 mins, (doesn't that send alarm bells to any layman!) Secondly, Skype customer service have simply been out to lunch for over a week (Sorry, were having problems at the moment). Seriously, Skype we all know you're having problems, because we're the victims of that complete customer abandonment! But at least get your call centre up and running again. Geez, being offline for week, lucky you're not a telecommunications company,  oh but wait...??!!

  • Customer service regarding credit card mishandling possible credit fraud

    To whom it may concern,
    On Tue morning I placed a order for a sprint prepaid galaxy s3 and a go pro hero package through the early black friday preview deal.  I had both items in my cart and checked out the go pro package with promo code.  I then immediatley went back into my shopping cart and proceed to put in my galaxy promo code and the item was not longer available and sold out.  I then called customer service to see about why this was removed from my cart and how I could order one.  I was told that item was sold out and nothing could be done.
    I then relealized in the confusion that I entered the wrong credit card in the system and wanted to change the form of payment to the correct card.  I was told that they will take my credit card information and I gave the CR rep my credit card and was put on hold.  I then was taken off hold and another CR rep was on the line and I started the whole process again giving my credit card information waiting for an authorization from her, which she gave me. (This whole process took approx 45 min by the way).
    I then get to work and decide to check the status of my order at best buy and I am suprised to see my initial credit card info was used to process the order, not the new credit card that was given and told authorized.
    I call CR again and the order was checked on on they said that the payment was authorized for the intial credit card and basically there is nothing I can do to change it.  I tell my story to the CR and she sees that I did request my credit card payment to be changed but can do nothing for me not even cancel the order and reissue it with my proper CC number.
    I ask to speak to a supervisor Angela and she again tells me their is nothing can be done with my order is being processed and by the original credit card was used as authorized.
    My major concern at this point is who did I give my credit card # twice too.  She tells me the agent I was speaking with and I demanded that we get connected with this agent to see what happened with my CC info.  She informs me that this can not happen.  I ask what as a supervisor is going to be done.  She offers no remedy for the multiply issues I was having.  I had to tell her that I would like to escalate this issue, she then said she can issue a ticket # 148428368.  I then ask for the call to be reviewed and I would like a transcript of the conversations I had with the CR rep and how it effects my credit card security.  I am posting this so this get rectified and more people are aware of the dangers your company practices of handling credit card numbers to the CR reps.  I feel this situation could of been handled much differently and want to hear a solution to my issues.

    I sincerely apologize if this phone agent didn’t handle your request to change your payment source as you expected them to. It sounds like they tried to change the payment source, thought it went through, but obviously it didn’t change.
    We would never give a copy of our recordings to a customer but we would cooperate fully with any ongoing police investigation. Has this second credit card been used without your authorization? If so, you need to contact the local authorities in order for them to open an investigation.
    I can say that many calls are reviewed and if this agent didn’t act appropriately action will be taken. This action will of course will be treated internally. Other than providing you a transcript of this call, or sharing if any action is taken in regards to this agent, is there anything specific you would ask of me?

    Some country's might not include tax in their prices, and if you changed or added your credit card details whilst making the purchase then a small temporary holding charge may also have been placed - in which case that should disappear within a few days (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3702). Some apps also then allow you to make in-app purchases (though you can disable that via Settings > General > Restrictions)

  • Gift card fail - horrible customer service experience

    I recently received my Verizon wireless bill.  I went to pay it with a gift card that I received from upgrading to the new iPhone.  It had a little over $91 left on it.  When I went to pay, the card would not cover the entire bill, and it told me to enter the amount I wanted credited.  I entered the full $91+ in the system and pressed enter.
    The system started thinking and then about 45 seconds later, I got the message that "the system was currently experiencing problems- please try again later"
    I waited 20 minutes and went back into the account.  The bill was still there and I went to pay by gift card and now the system told me I had $0 dollars left on it.  That is when the fun started.
    I spoke to 4 different people in customer service.  The first person dropped my call. The second told me to call the number on the back of the card (I told them that Verizon never sent me a card but sent me an email).  They told me to call the one number on the email.  I did and that number offered no options to actually talk to anyone but the computer was kind enough to tell me my card had zero balance.  I called the regular customer service again, pressed the option for billing and got routed into tech support (no clue how that happens).  This person had no clue how to help me so they transferred me to another person who really had no clue how to help me.  They did say they would escalate my issue to internal support and I would get an answer in 24-48 hours.
    Now we are 48 hours later and I have heard nothing.  What the hell Verizon?!?!?!
    How can you not be taking care of this in a timely manner?  I am extremely disappointed at the level of service you are providing.  Honestly, when did you guys become as bad as Comcast in helping customers get issues resolved?
    Oh  and don't get me going about why I needed to even go into the sytem 2 times to apply my gift card credit.  Why couldn't I just apply the entire amount and have a credit on my account for the next bill?  Would that have been so tough?

    We want to ensure you get the complete support that you deserve, tonymess! I apologize for the experience.     We have the correct CVV2, Expiration Date and Billing address, but you keeps declining us. Please fix this problem for me. The issuing bank for this card is Techcombank, one of the largest banks in Vietnam. According to the bank, the transaction is processed in the US. This is a legitimate Visa card.
    Please let me know as soon as possible. Apple does a disservice to its brand name by declining legitimate Visa account holders from using the cards in Vietnam.

    Just as a warning, your credit card number has been sent in the clear to probably thousands of people, including anyone who subscribes to e-mail alerts to this forum.  That's very, very bad.  The credit card should be considered compromised at this point, and you should cancel it immediately, if you haven't done so already.
