Debug a Module?

Ok, there has to be way to properly debug a module. I have several Flex projects in my workspeace like so...
MasterApplicationProject
ModuleProject1
ModuleProject2
MasterApplication Project loads ModuleProject1 and/or ModuleProject2.
Let's say I need to be able to set a breakpoint in ModuleProject1. How do I accomplish this? Basically what I do is compile ModuleProject1 and ModuleProject 2 to a swf and MasterApplication.swf loads one or both using ModuleManager.
It's very painful to figure out issues with the code if the module is a black box when it comes to debugging. What am I missing? How can I debug my modules?
I did some Googling and all I found was something that said to make sure you are loading a debug version of the module and not an exported release version. Did that, still ignored my breakpoint.
Help please.
Marcus

If you are using RSLs, that could be the problem. In Flex3 both the swz and swf RSLs do not have debug information. In Flex4 the swz does not have debug information but the swf does.

  • How to debug adapter module in PI 7.1

    Hello all,
I am trying to figure out how to debug adapter module in PI 7.1.
I guess runtime debugging ( switch AS java in debug mode and attach NWDS to the AS Java to debug as module is being executed) is not possible with adapter module. Please let me know if this is indeed possible and how to enable it.
The only option is to send debug information to log file. So in the module code like:
    audit.addAuditLogEntry(key, status, message);
    location.debugT(SIGNATURE, message);
I've read that for PI 7.0, you need to add log-configuration.xml to meta-inf. Is this still required for PI 7.1?
My next question is how to read the log in audit log and in location. I've read that the audit log can be read in .../MessagingSystem/monitor/monitor.jsp, under which section of the page I can read the audit log? I can't see any of my log there.
For log in location, I guess I need to go to NWA, can you please share the path (navigation) in NWA to see the location?
    Thanks

It is possible for adapter modules as well. I know this from our developers
    It should work like this:
    /people/christian.drumm/blog/2008/09/30/debugging-java-mappings-using-sap-netweaver-developer-studio
    > The only option is to send debug information to log file. So in the module code like:

In the RWB under Message Monitoring for Adapter, or try the shortcut

  • How to Debug Functional Module called via RFC?

    Hi Experts,
Please, can someone explain to me how to debug functional module that is called via RFC? Thanks in advance.
      Best Regards,
    Aleksandar

    Hi Laxman,
First of all thank you very much for giving attention to my post. Ok, I am trying to debug function module in RM-CA (FICA), function module is called by CRM system (via RFC) and in addition all this chain is triggered by WebClient.
I have user that can login on the CRM as well as on RM-CA (ECC 6.0) system, but those users are different (unfortunately I do not have administration permission so I can’t change profiles of my users but I can ask for it). I can without any problem debug calls that come from WebClient, so setting an external break point in CRM system I can catch whatever I want but when process comes to point where actually call to back-end (RM-CA) takes place I simply can’t get into functional module, that resides on RM-CA side. Actually what happens is that processing continues as was chosen ‘NEXT STEP’ (F6).
To resume, two systems and two different users. Where XCM user should be created? (on RM-CA system or CRM). Should I change something in Menu option Utilities -> Settings -> ABAP Editor tab -> Debugging tab, in field users?  If you need any additional info please tell me.
      Thanks again for your support.

  • How to debug mapping module of a Adapter Object

I have created an Adapter object which will send data from ECC table to CRM. In the Table/Structure tab, I have mentioned the ECC table name for which data will come.
A FM is created to convert data and is mapped in Mapping Module of the object. Now though initial load is running sucessfully, table entry is not inserted in CRM table.
Though I have given breakpoint in the FM, it is not triggering. Is there any way out to debug the FM.

    Hi,
Can you let me know the download status of your adapter object using txn. R3AM1? If it is DONE, you can trigger another initial load.
The inbound queue formation on CRM is governed by USE_IN_QUEUE field of table CRMRFCPAR on the ECC for your adapter object. It should be set to X. So in case there's a specific entry for your adapter object in CRMRFCPAR, just check it.
If this setting is already maintained you should see a queue name like R3AI_<objectName> in SMQ2 of CRM. Of course you'd need to deregister the R3AI* queue in txn. SMQR.
    Thanks,
    Rohit

  • How  to debug function module in update task ?

    Hi ,
              i have following code :
CALL FUNCTION 'ZSD_t_UPDATE' IN UPDATE TASK
                 TABLES
                                  it_xvbkd = xvbkd.
Inside this function module i have some code  to debug . How can i debug it ?
I put the breakpoint in it but its not working .
It is triggered on save of  a tcode .
    Thanks and Regards .

    My home-grown method:
Set your breakpoint in the FM.
In your transaction, just before you press save, enter hobble mode in your command box with '/h'.
    press save.
In your first debug screen, toggle settings>system debugging ON (NetWeaver Drop-down menu) or see previous notes for earlier WebAS versions.
    Select continue (F8).
The program should then stop at your break-point in the FM.

  • How to debug Function Modules from ISA!!!

    Hi Gurus,
How to debug the function modules from ISA.
For Ex:If i am in shopping cart or product catalog,e.t.c..i need to know which FM is calling from backend, how to debug the FMs/Bapis related to that from ISA side.
direct me to all the possible ways.
    Regards,
    Anil.

    Hello Anil,
There are a few things you need to look at when trying to debug .
    1. The function module needed ( you can do a trace to see which one is called.)
    2. The user that is been user With statefull and stateless connection the FM can be called by either the JCO user or the internet user. This will need to be considered when setting your external break point.
    3. The server been used, You will need to check the XCM to see which server is been used ie are you using a group connect of a specific server , You need to make sure that you are setting the breakpoint on the server that is specified in the XCM.
Have a look at note [871907|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/871907]   the attachment to the note may help you a lot. .
    Hope this helps.

  • Debugging a Module Pool Program(Object Oriented ABAP)

    Hello Experts,
Could you please advise me on an efficient debugging technoque of Module Pool Program which is based on Object Oriented ABAP?

    Hi
Debugging Module pool program using ABAP objects is same as debugging any other report/module pool program.
Click on the Create shortcut icon on the toolbar.
In the popup window choose "System command" and in the command enter "/h"
A shortcut on the desktop would be created
Drag and drop the shortcut to the modal window to set debugging on.
    Approach 2:
Create a txt file on the desktop with the following lines:
    [FUNCTION]
    Command=/H
    Title=Debugger
Type=SystemCommandDrag and drop this file to the modal window to set debugging on.
How do I switch between the Classic and New Debugger
From within the ABAP workbench, select the Utilities->Settings Menu
    Select the ABAP Editor Tab
Select the Debugging tab within the ABAP Editor Tab
Select the Classic Debugger or New Debugger radio button

  • How to collect debug logs for custom module only in EBS by AppsLog.write?

    Hi,
Customer is trying to retrieve logs for their custom module (XXKCZ) and
put it to /log/kcz.log by using AppsLog.write() method. (refer to sample code below)
Customer has set these profile values in the application level and removed the values

  • Debugging Outbound Function module in EDI

    Hello All,
I have a query regarding debugging function module which is used for creation of outbound Idoc for Purchase Order.
We have a Z process code which is assigned to a Z function module which creates an IDOC while a PO is created in the system.
But If I set break points in the Function module, the execution does stop there.
Can any one please tell me how to debug outbound processing Functioon module while PO is created.
    Regards
    Arindam

    Hi,
There are 2 ways to to debug an outbound idoc triggered by an output type. One way is to set the output timing to 1, and save the purchase order and then execute RSNAST00 which will take the control to the breakpoint.
You can also debug the idoc with the output timing set as 4.
Here the idoc is triggered in update mode. Hence any breakpoints you may have set before will not reflect. Hence you need to activate update debugging.
Below are the steps for the same..
    1. Add the output type in purchase order.
    2. Enter '/h' to activate debugging in transaction window.
    3. Save purchase order.
    4. The process enters debugging mode.
    5. In Settings tab, select checkbox for Update Debugging.
    6. Click F8.
    7. The control will appear to go out and re-enter debugging mode.
    8. Now from the menu bar, in breakpoints option, choose Breakpoint At Function Module option, and give the name of the function module which is processing the idoc.
    9. Once breakpoint set, click F8.
    10. The control will now go to the function module. You can then debug the FM.
    Hope this information is helpful.

  • V Urgent : Debugging an RFC function Module in another R/3 system

    Hi All
I have a function module in a R/3 system ( say WB1 ) and i am calling it from another R/3 system (say WD1) . Both have their RFC destinations set up as trusted system mutually . However when i try to debug that FM while in WD1 ( which basically exists only in WB1) i am not able to get inside that FM . Are there some settings that we need to do to allow us to debug function module in another R/3 system ? .
Yes ,we cant do this debugging if RFC function module is in a non SAP system but am sure it can be done atleast for R/3 to R/3 .
Any pointers to this as to what setting needs to done ?
Does some system parameter needs to be set in RSPARAM program for debugging RFC?
    Please help
    Regards
    Shovit

    Hi
Can you do a remote logon through the SM59 connection (the trusted one)?
If so, then the only thing preventing you would be debugging autorization.
If not, make sure you have trusted system logon auth (not part of SAP_ALL!).
    Cheers

  • How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL

How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL.
My server OS is Unix. So i could not able to do the Debug Forms from the Form Developer.
It is displaying a message that "Cannot find the module". Becuase the system is trying find out the module in Unix system instead of ma local system(Windows).
I need to debug ma module through URL.
I can place the fmb and fmx in predefined form path in Server.
Please help me out to solve this issue..

This is a little unclear. If your goal is to use the Forms Builder Debugger while running your form on a Unix machine, this can be done. However, the form must first be in running order. So before trying to attach the debugger you must first be able to start it without the debugger. For example:
    http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX
Once this is properly running you can turn on debugging. If your form won't even start, then using the Debugger isn't going to help you because it is designed to troubleshoot coding problems and not configuration problems.
So, do this to use the Debugger:
    http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX&debug=yes
This will display a dialog box with some information. Do not click on OK yet as you will need this information to enter into the Forms Builder. Now, open the Forms Builder and click on Debug > Attach Debug. You will be asked for the information displayed in the dialog where you attempted to start the form. Enter it here (in the Builder) then click on ok in both places. To display the Debugger (in the Builder), click on Debug > Debug Console. Then from its toolbar click on the buttons related to what you want to monitor. Including a break point in your application code is often a more helpful way to use the debugger.
Most of this information is explained in the Forms Builder Online Help
    Forgot to mention...
To debug runtime issues, refer to the Forms Deployment Guide here (this assumes you are using 11.1.2):

  • Problem with Creation of CRM Order via Function Module Test

I am trying to check the order creation process from external systems by using the test function in Tcode SE37 with Function Module BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI.
I have created a Test Sequence of the following FMs:
    BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_PROCSETTINGS
    BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI
    BAPI_PROCESS_SAVE
    BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT
All that I have been able to create so far is an order header without a Sold-to or Ship-to and no items. I am able to populate the Organization data, Header text and Appointments. The only partner function that is being populated is the one that is being automatically picked up from my user master.
For the BAPI_BUSPROCESSND_CREATEMULTI I am populating the following tables:
    HEADER          1 entry
    ITEM               2 entries
    PARTNER          2 entries
    ORGANISATION     1 entry
    APPOINTMENT          2 entries
    INPUT_FIELDS          41 entries
    SCHEDULELINE     2 entries
I have created the entries based upon information gained through debugging function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN during the creation of a service order.
It would be interesting to know if anybody has successfully created an order via the SE37 test function and if so, it would be useful to see the data in the relevant tables.

    HEllo ,
Write a wrapper to the function module CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN.
To populate the Text use below code
      ls_input_field_names-fieldname  = 'REF_GUID'.
      INSERT ls_input_field_names INTO TABLE lt_input_field_names.
      ls_input_field_names-fieldname  = 'REF_KIND'.
