Debug on android device is completely broken. Any way to get it to work?

Hi,
I have created a project for Android and I am trying to debug it on the device, with Flash Builder 4.6 on Windows.
I have set up the debug configuration properly.
When I try to start debugging, the progress bar gets stuck at "Determining which device to launch the application on" and keeps waiting forever.
Great. Then I've noticed that when this happens, there are TWO adb.exe processes running. So I've tried by killing one of them, and Eureka!!! This unlocks Flash Builder, which then asks me a stupid question:
"Adobe AIR is required to install this application: do you want to install it now on the device?"
This is a stupid question for two reasons:
1- my project is configured to be exported as an application with captive runtime, but hey, I guess this is not taken into account in debugging (too bad)
2 - I DO already have the latest version of Adobe AIR installed on the device!!!!!!!!!
If I select No, the debug is aborted. If I select Yes, it does some stuff, and then gets stuck at "Installing Adobe AIR..." and keeps waiting forever.
Yes, USB debugging is of course enabled on the device. Ah, it's a Samsung Galaxy Tab.
So, is there a way to get debugging to work on Flash Builder 4.6, or is it just hoplessly broken?

Well, I see part of the problem is that AIR for android is itself broken. I install it on the device (from the Google Play Store), then it says it has been installed correctly, and then it is not installed.
I have an AIR application that I had installed previously, and when I attempt to launch it, it asks me whether I want to install Adobe AIR (which I have already installed like 10 times)
If I install Adobe AIR and then IMMEDIATELY run that application, then it launches!! But then, the next time I try, it will ask me again whether I want to install adobe AIR.
IS THERE A FIX FOR THIS?

HP Mini 1120NR under Windows XP SP3: any way to get onboard webcam working?

I can see some 'USB video device' in My Computer but it doesn't seem to behave like webcam. And no application can detect that I have the camera onboard... No drivers for 1120NR webcam for Windows XP are listed on HP website either. Any ideas?

I just had the same problem with my MacBook. (Which I learned about because I had to reboot into windows to take a final exam. Grrrr.)
To get out of reboot ****, turn the computer off. Then zap the PRAM when you turn it back on. To do this, hold down the CommandOption+PR keys while turning the computer on. You will get a gray screen, then it will go black and reboot. After that, you should be able to get into Mac OS.

Any way to get multicam to work with HD?

I am using multi-cam mode in Premiere and it is essentially unusable because of lag.
I am presuming this is caused by a bottle-neck of the hard drive, as my system monitor is showing only 50% RAM usage and ~80% cpu.
I have tried everything i know to try to ease the process: only using multicam window (no preview/source), changing playback/pause resolution to 1/8th, closing all other programs, constantly saving and restarting, disabled multi monitor(only using one screen).
Still nothing is helping.
Is there anyway to prevent this lag? Aside from building a better machine?
I am running 5 full hd cams, 2 of which are constant wide angles, so I dont need a preview of them (but still need to be able to select them in the mixdown). Thought I could disable certain previews, but no idea if that is really an option.
Can i downsample the originals just for editing sake then revert to the full rez on render?
Can i pre render files?
Can I close other things that are hurting my performance?
I think its rediculous this can't work in some fashion. A project that should be done in real time is taking me 10x as long because I have to constantly pause and wait for the video to catch up.
Any ideas would be super helpful
I am running an i7 8 core, 8gb ram. System drive is 120gb solid state, all media files on a seperate 450gb 7200 rpm. Analysis files are on the solid state drive.

Thanks for the input everyone. Through trial and error, I found a few useful tips I will share.
1st, you can disable any of the viewable streams, yet still retain the ability to click on them while doing a live mix. You don't see the image (duh) but it my case this resolved the issue.
I was doing a mix of 2 stationary cameras and 3 operated cams (recording a band live at a theatre), so I didn't need to preview the stationary cams. I turned them both off in preview (the tiny eye in the setup sequence) which meant only displaying 3 streams instead of five. I was able to use full playback resolution with no lag at all.
I also tried enabling 4 cams, which worked while reducing the playback qaulity to 1/8th, and this too seemed to work fine. It seems im my case, 5+ streams is the limit.
This was 1920x1080 @ 60 frames.
Also based on my system monitor, RAM and CPU were not in any short supply. I feel the issue lies in the HD or bus, but have no way to test this.
Anyway, thats it on my end. Super stoked I can use this feature, it makes life so much easier.
On that same note, in my next computer build, I want a machine capable of handling more streams. Any suggestions on the best RAID configuration when it comes to multi cam HD? I am also curious to see if splitting the files onto an external drive(s) and the internal storage would make a difference. Cheap hack, but if it works........

ITunes / Shadow / Import - Is there ANY way to get iTunes to work on the Media Hub 405?

Since I installed the Linksys Media Hub 405 my iTunes Library has become a mess to manage or enjoy. I'm using the latest software.
1. I have so so so so many duplicates
2. I can't use playlists
3. Some art work shows up others do not.
A. Itunes works great on my Dell Laptop w/ Vista Ultimate and on my iPod
B. The Media Hub is using Import and The Shadow keeps running but gets errors from time to time.
If the ONLY reason I bought the Media Hub is to run iTunes for 4,600 song library what should my settings and software running be to keep it up to date "automaticly" WITHOUT duplicates?
Should Shadow be on or off, and what setting?
Should Import be on or off, and what settings?
Can ANYONE answer this question is a common sense simple manner? Thank you.

If you worry about duplicate files on your Media Hub then you should use NTI Shadow. When creating a backup job on NTI Shadow make sure your choose "save your folder/file changes to the backup destination every time you save changes to your PC" then for the file versions options choose "Do not save any previous file version".

Is there any way to get Siri to work via wifi through a proxy?

I work in a school that has wifi with Internet accessible through a proxy. With my previous iPhone 3GS, I was able to get online, access the app store.. In fact, do everything on wifi except receive and send email. Now, with the 4s, I have to add Siri to that list. It works fine everywhere else (on 3G or wifi) but no joy at work. Any ideas? I do have access to the school server so if there's a sneaky server side change to make, I can :)

We were having the same problem here at the School I work at. By looking at some traffic logs and doing some internal testing, it appears Siri attempts to make a direct connection to the outside network using HTTPS (port 443), without using any of the proxy settings you may have configured on the Wifi network.
We've reported it as a bug to Apple but haven't heard anything back yet.
To get around it in the meantime you'll have to punch a hole in your firewall to allow Siri traffic through.
Currently Siri appears to contact IP address 17.174.4.14 over port 443. The IP address may change in the future, but that will at least get you up and going for now. We went ahead and opened the entire 17.174.4.0/24 network, as the entire block of addressess is owned by Apple.
Again, there is no gaurentee that this will not change in the future and break again.

Is there any way to get touch screen working for unit that got wet?

i recently had my ipod touch fall in water for a few seconds, and since then my touch screen will light up dimly, but is unresponsive. the unit works for sync on my computer, as well as playing on my bose sound dock. only the touch screen seems affected

If the liquid damage has occurred recently you should try to dry it completely before attempting to use it. Have you tried putting the iPod Touch into a bag/bowl of uncooked white rice? That would help to pull all the remaining liquid out of the iPod.
If, after that the iPod's screen is still not responsive then it's something you may need to have repaired or replaced.

Any way to get visualiser to work on 5G ipod?

Given the video capabilities of the new 5G iPod, I wondered whether it would be possible to export the iTunes visualiser effects to the iPod? Is this technically feasible? What are your thoughts?

I'd doubt it would be possible. The iPod and computers that run iTunes are vastly different in their capabilities.
The computers have much more capable graphics cards. Their processors have much more power, and can draw huge amounts of power if need be.
The iPod is optimized for power conservation. So it uses low power processors and application-specific circuitry to do its work. The trade off for visualization would be a more powerful processor and graphics capabilities that would also result in shorter battery life.
Which is not to say that in a few years' time, if Apple feel like they can afford the power consumption, they might not add visualizer-like capabilities to the iPod.
But my guess is that in the short run, they'd opt for lower power consumption and longer battery life in the iPod and leave the fancy effects for iTunes and computers, where, relatively speaking, there's an unlimited supply of power to draw on.

I am trying to get VMware server installed, but am having a lot of difficulty.
According to multiple sources of information, I am told I need to install vmware-server-modules first.
When I try to install, yaourt gives the following error: error: target not found: kernel26>=2.6.32.
When I try to install vmware-server, yaourt gives the error error: target not found: kernel26>=2.6.29.
FYI:
$ uname -r
3.2.5-1-ARCH
The Wiki deals with VMware Player and Workstation, but not Server. There is a forum/aur information relating to installing Server which is quite old (mostly 2010, some 2011), however given I am running an up-to-date kernel I seem to be hitting a dead end. Is there anyone who knows how to get this working?

I have tried VirtualBox in the past but have had issues getting the networking properly configured, so VMware remains my preference. If there are other decent virtualisation options I am willing to listen.

Thank you for your posts. My own research and your comments has convinced me that VMware Server is not the right way forward nowadays.

I have an unused box (Dell GX620 usff) which seems like it would be suitable to run EXSi and 2-3 VMs, but no more due to RAM limits of 4GB on the mobo. I THINK its 64-bit, but not 100% sure - knowing this is an EXSi requirement for recent versions is somewhat annoying. Also, from what I understand, there is no native Linux control application (vSphere is Windows only, right?), which makes VMware feel entirely like the wrong choice for me.

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

If you are using the computer that you normally sync with, it should sync without entering the passcode. However, if this is not the computer you normally sync with, you cannot get past the passcode, it has to be entered.
