Debuggin in bpc75nw sp05

Hi,
I'm trying to debug badi code via DM package, but system not entering into debug mode. But i'm able debug same badi via ujkt.
i followed Scott blog for debugging badi code via package.
Still i'm not able debug and we are on bpc75nw sp05.
Any new settings required in sp05 , because many times i debugged code in sp04 via package.

Nothing new in debugging in SP05. One thing, mapping of your ID could be lost during the upgrade.
Can you check in Server Manager if it's still there? Your IDs there should be in all capital. Or you can see in SM50 if job is running under BPC... ID or your ID.
You can also try using UJ...TEST_PACKAGE program to debug that DM package. In that case you don't need Debug user mapping et all.

Sy-batch value when debuggin a background process

Hello All,
I have a quick question. I am working with a background job and I have a doubt about the sy-batch value. I know it set to 1 when the process in run in background but if I turn the debuggin on [ via the infinite loop ] then will the sy-batch value change to SPACE ?
In debugging I see its changed to space but I am wondering is it cause I am debuggin in background or is it because Its an update task ?

The SY-BATCH should come as "X" when you debug a background job via infinite loop. Have you called any code update task? If yes then it will be processed via dialog processing so here SY-BATCH will be initial.
I just set this program in background and found that the SY-BATCH as "X" and it goes to infinite loop.

Issues faced in MDM 7.1 SP07 upgrade from SP05

Dear Experts,
We have a requirement to upgrade the SAP MDM 7.1 SP05 to SP07.
For this Could you all please list out the various issues, which could be faced in doing this upgrade and what could be the Possible Solutions for these issues.
And if anyone has done the upgrade from SAP MDM 7.1 SP05 to SP07, then Please share you experience for the same related to the issues faced and any other relevan tinformation which could be helpful.

These links gives you an idea of what all changes are going to come into your new system. So unless you upgrade to SP07 i.e. the latest version and test it in DEV/Sandbox environment you should not plan to move ahead in Production. This is always recommended but there is very less chance that the already working solution will not work as expected after the upgrade.

Unable to Pass Parameters to I5Grid in SAP MII 14.0 SP05

Hi Experts,
There was a bug in SAP MII 14.0 SP04 where we were unable to pass parameters to I5Grid dynamically. I understand that this bug has been fixed in SP05 , so we applied following patches:
Patches installed :
a) XMII05P_4-10008694.SCA
b) XMII05_0-10008694.SCA
Note details mentioning this issue :
2016927 - I5Grid does not take into account overridden parameters when updateGrid(true) is called
But even after applying these patches, I am still not able to pass parameters to I5Grid dynamically from irpt page. Does anyone have any insight to it? Is it working for any one of you?

I see this change working. I was doing a mistake while passing parameter to I5grid.
What I was doing-
Grid.getQueryObject().setParameter(1, linename);
Correct Way:
Grid.getQueryObject().setParameter("Param.1", linename);

Questions on SP05 repository security/Import

1. How to reset the Admin password for the repository without logging into the repository (what if you forget the password)?
2. I need to have three roles,
     - Role One should have authorizations to load / unload the repository only
     - Role two should be able to login to a repository and create users/ roles only
     - Role three should be able to add/modify tables and table fields
Basically I need to have seperation in Basis/Security/developer roles. Is that possible with the current version
3. Is it possible to end a user login session from console or by using clix or API?
4. I read somewhere is SP05 documentation that it would allow secure logins using LDAP - does that mean we can do a SSO from portal through LDAP?
5. SP05 allows role transports. Is there any documentation available for that. Can someone provide steps for role transports as I could not see the option anywhere.
6. What does save update in import manager do? how is it different from save? does it impact the XML schema also if your map is based on XML schema?

Hi Harsha,
1. If you don't have another administrative-level account to use to login and reset the password, an MDM Consultant can reset the Admin password for you. We do not publish the procedure for obvious security reasons. In SP5 Patch2 you will be able to archive the repository without logging in to the repository and send it to support to have the Admin password reset. (You will need to have the MDS server password, if one is set, to perform this operation since you will not need to login to the repository anymore.)
2. I don't think the Load/Unload role permission granularity was added until SP5 Patch 2. The other roles can be created in Patch 1.
3. No, there is no way to end a user session (you can essentially boot all client users off by unloading a repository, but there's no way to do just a single user at this time). If you would like, you can submit a feature request (I guess via OSS) for us to potentially include this feature in the next major release.
As for the last three, I am unable to address those issues. Hopefully someone else can.

Hi Manna,
When trying to read users from CMC, there are several authentication type users which are displayed such as Enterprise, AD,LDAP, SAP.
From the error, I believe you have some SAP users which are not promoted properly in Business Objects.. May be some issues with the entitlement system configured for SAP Users.
Login into CMC >> Authentication >> SAP and verify if the entitlement systems are enabled and check if you are getting any error at the Role Import Tab

Error on starting MDS after upgrading from MDM 7.1 sp04 to sp05

Hi ,
I tried to upgrade my local setup from sp04 to sp05.
I used sapins to upgrade with update option.
In the second last step when we get option to which server you want to start after upgrading i select all three servers
i.e. mds ,mdis,mdss
This installation completed with error.
In the log file i found this logs.
The problem is i am able to start mdss and mdis of updated sp but not mds.
In the console i can see the version of mdss and mdis to sp05 but there is no version coming in the case of mds.
Please help me on this isssue

Deloying error in CE 7.2 SP05: com/sap/ide/dii05/util/api/diilog/Severity

Hello,
I've just upgraded my Developer Studio from 7.2 SP03 to 7.2 SP05. I've imported my old developments fine, but, when I try to deploy to the server, I'm getting this error message,
"an internal error occurred during: "Create new archive, deploy and run". com/sap/ide/dii05/util/api/diilog/Severity"
I've alredy tried reloading and rebuilding the whole project.
Anyone knows what is the problem? Any clues?

SMP3.0 SP05 register process and reconnect in native iOS app

Hi,
we do this steps Getting started with SMP3 Native OData iOS apps to get a native iOS application functioning through the SAP Mobility platform version 3.0 SP05 and retrieving data from OData services.
But we do not understand the register process completely.
If we install the app and do the register process and retrieve the data everything is ok. A user with the ApplicationConnectionID is registered in in SMP. But if we start the app again (without a new installation) we do not register the user again an set the connection id we get in the registration process:
[self.clientConn setApplicationConnectionID:[selfreadInPlistMitKey:@"appConnectionID"]];
we set the encryptionKey in the manager and initialize the Cache once for the application launch.
[EncryptionKeyManager setEncryptionKey:key withError:nil];
But if we want to retrieve the data we get a Request Failed.

thank you but this was not realy what we need. But we can now register without to use the MAFLogonScren but when we whant to open the Online Store we get this error: "OpenStore failed with network error: 401 unauthorized" Do you know what we cvan do against this error or what the reason of this error is?

Hi,
Try to uninstall adobe life cycle designer and install it onceagain..
Even we faced some times this problem, but better to use higher version of adobe life cycle designer like 8.0 whiuch will be compatible to your NWDS version...

I can't give a specific response, but if possible, upgrade to LCD 8.0 - it is much smoother to use than 7.1.
I almost pulled out all my hair working with 7.1

MDM 5.5 SP05 JAVA API

Heii All,
As per If we use Java API from MDM 5.5 SP04. We will not be able to find any classes that will retrieve image and pdf data. The old API was able to do this, In API of SP05 version we can make it, but does SP04 version have any classes that will retrieve this data?

As per my knowledge The SP 05 version of MDM Java API has a RetrieveBlobCommand command. As per I know this command was only added in SP 05 and does not exist in SP04.

HI, Rajat.
For exposing hierarchy in WD view you need to use node with recursive children in the context and Tree/TreeNodeType UI elements in view layout.
For load hierarchy records you have to use RetrieveLimitedHierTreeCommand. You can load whole hierarchy (as I know, SP05 API have a bug - only first 1000 record can be loaded) or load hierarchy nodes on demand (using OnLoadChildren action of TreeNodeType element).
Refer to this example of loading child records:

Don't forget call fillNodeWithChildren(null) in wdDoInit for load first level of hierarchy.

Check printing script debuggin problem

i am working on a check printing script. i need to adjust the layout of few things in this layout.
in the debuggin mode i am getting the short dump stating vendor number = xxxxxxxxxxxx (invalid).
can anyone tel me the windows for date,account payee,amount in words and amount in figures or atleast the fields related to them r tell me where i have to correct my script to proceed in debuggin mode.

CHECKSPL -> for amount in words,
CHECK -> other fields ( date, amount )
CHECKADD -> Payee
other open form se71 -> display -> go to UTILITIES menu -> select FORM INFO. option
There you find with general Find( CTRl + F ).

BPC75NW - Periodic Amount Not Calculating for records with blank YTD value

We are on BPC75NW SP6 and have a YTD consolidation application. Data is loaded on a monthly basis uising a process of importing data files from supplying systems and then loading them into BPC using the data manager append function with a transformation file. YTD amounts are as expected and 'most' periodic amounts are also calculated correctly via MDX mesures in reporting. However, in situations where we have a P&L YTD balance in one month (say January) and then in the next month (February) there is no longer a YTD balance in that P&L account, no record is loaded for February YTD and the system is not calculating any February periodic amount. Example:
January - Load $100 to a P&L Account which is the YTD amount
The January YTD amount = $100.
The January Periodic amount = $100.
February - Load no record to the same P&L account as above (as the YTD amount is now 0)
The February YTD amount in the system is blank
The February Periodic amount in the system is blank (This should be a NEGATIVE $100)
As a possible work around we have also tried to load a 0 to February. The data manager package shows the record as loaded successfully but since it is a 0 it really does not put it into the database.
Surely someone out there has already hit this situation and is willing to share the solution.

This problem was resolved by installing SAP Note 1405993 - MDX: Error: Invalid MDX command with
CURRENTMEMBER. The current text on the note does not describe our error but SAP will not extend the text to cover this issue.
Prior to installing this note, the following other notes were also installed but they did not fix the periodic calculation issue. Under SAP's advisement we are going to leave them however as 'they should not have any side effects':
1529720 MDX: No data for calculated member and metadata reference
1590976 MDX: Incorrect data for IIF
1584196 MDX: Calculated members and different dimensions
1528374 MDX: System error GET_PRPTY_VALUE-02-
