Decentralised Adapter Engine Configuration

hi all,
I have already installed DAE for a XI server.
Right now i am able to see it in RWB.But it is not visible in Adapter engine dropdown of communication channel.
I wanted to know whether some settings in visual admin of XI server also has to be done.
regards,
ujjwal kumar

Hi Ujjwal,
Please ignore my previous post and follow this as i would like to add to it:
The non-central Adapter Engine provides a configuration option called Java Proxy mode (JPR mode). In this mode, the adapter registration in the SLD is disabled so that the underlying system becomes a plain Java proxy application system (just like an ABAP system with ABAP proxies). The collaboration partner agreement (CPA) service no longer reads the CPA cache data from the Integration Directory.
In this case, you can use a service property to configure the user for sending messages to the Integration Server (outbound scenario). The Integration Server uses an access control list (ACL) to check receiving messages based on this configuration setting (see SAP Note 852237). The ACL check is always skipped when the Adapter Framework service user (usually PIAFUSER) is used for sending.
To switch the Adapter Engine to JPR mode, perform the following configuration settings:
       1.      In the Visual Administrator, choose the SAP XI AF CPA Cache service and set the SLDAccess property to false.
       2.      Save your settings and restart the service.
       3.      Make sure that the cacheType property still has the value DIRECTORY.
       4.      In the Visual Administrator, choose the SAP XI Adapter: XI service and set the respective values (user, password, Integration Server URL, client, and language) for the properties xiadapter.isconfig.*.
       5.      On the Integration Server, call transaction SMICM to ensure that you have maintained the correct Integration Server URL.
       6.      On the Integration Server, call transaction SU01 to create the new user and assign it the role SAP_XI_AF_SERV_USER_MAIN. You can copy PIAFUSER for this purpose.
If a password change is required, log on to the Integration Server with the new user and change the initial password. Otherwise the communication will fail.
       7.      In the Visual Administrator, check if the ABAP-Java user synchronization was successful.
       8.      Log on to the SLD and choose Content Maintenance ® XI Adapter Framework.
       9.      Select your non-central Adapter Engine and remove it.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/3e/e3fb40f17af66fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm
After you are done with your installations there are some verifications that needs to be done at the visual admin side before monitoring your Decentral Adapter engine:
1)Start the J2EE from SAP management console and start the J2EE
(If you have dynamic IP address, then hosts file in server should be changed before starting decentral AE)
2)Start Visual Administrator & login to your Default connection
3)Navigate to Services à SLD Data Supplier and
verify the SLD connection
4)Navigate to Services à Security Provider and verify the users (its synchronized with the XI Server)
Now check in RWB -> Component Monitoring -> Non-central AE

Hope this helps.

  • URL For J2SE Adapter Engine Configuration

    Hi All,
I have to go for adapter configuration for that i need to go to Adapter Engine Configuration Screen. So can any one please tell me the URL for going to the particular screen.

    Hi rahul,
I think URL for J2SE adapter engine is http://hostname:portname. Just check following link :

  • Use Adapter Engine of another XI system (Decentralised Adapter Engine)

In order to create a workaround for a specific problem, I'm investigating the possibility to attach the Adapter Engine of a second XI system to a productive XI system. The outcome should be that the productive XI system has access to two Adapter Engines: one central and one decentral.
    1. is this possible at all?
    2. if yes, can you provide some pointers on how to proceed?

    Hi Iddo,
Adding a "new" decentral adapter engine on a separate hardware to an existing central PI system is not that hard, but as Stephan said, you cannot do that with an adapter engine of a different full XI installation.
I assume you want to use the decentral adapter engine, while upgrading/patching the decentral one? One customer of mine does that kind of switching of scenarios regularly when applying patches to one of their adapter engines (set up central integration engine with one central and 2 decentral adapter engine). It's possible, but a little bumpy sometimes.
Anyway be aware that in case of an update/patch of the central integration server your decentral adapter engine cannot make any cache refreshes to any adapter engine.
    Best regards

  • Bad adapter engine configuration - File Sender scenery doesn't work

In file sender scenery, the adapter doesnu2019t pass any message to the Integration Engine.
When I take a look to the communication channel monitoring it shows the channel with status OK (Green). But when I look into the audit log of the incoming message I see the following error:
Received XI System Error. ErrorCode: INBOUND_BINDING_ERROR ErrorText:   ErrorStack: Error in sender agreement for party , service VLTEST, interface namespace urn:damm.es:vialactea:logistica, interface oa_SimpleLine No sender agreement found for , , , , ,
The sender agreement exists in the Directory and the status of the cache is OK.
But in the Message Data I see this End Point URL: http://asrmd:8082/sap/xi/engine/?type=entry
This is adapter is attached to a development system instance number 80 and the port of the above URL is a reference to the TEST system instance number 82. I investigate this issue but I canu2019t find where the miss-configuration is causing this bad End Point.
Have anybody an idea about this problem. Itu2019s the first time I found this kind of miss-configuration.
All other adapters are working fine. The file receiver adapter is working fine too.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi Sergi,
Now is clear. Sorry but I didn´t see your posts properly. I didn't move the cross bar until the final.
So now I change my point of view.
Go to Runtime Workbech --> Component Monitoring --> Integration Engine --> Test Message. Which URL is displayed here? is it right?
If don't, effectively you have wrong configured your URL of the Integration Engine.
Go to SLD --> Business Systems --> Select your XI business System. At the Integration Configuration tag check the URL, if it is wrong, change it and save the changes. Remember that the rol must be Integration Server.
    Refresh the caches.
    Hope it is usefull.

  • Central vs Non-central adapter engine.

    Hi all,
Can any one tell me how can I find out whether central or non-central adapter engine is configured in my XI system.
Is there any difference between accessing the central and non-central adapter engine cofiguration screen.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
Central adapter engine is used for conversion of objects within a single sld.
A decentral adapter engine is used when we need to connect to other applicaton systems through a firewall.
Xi does not provide any such security, so in order to ensure security and to allow minimal access to out sld and other objects we use an external adapter engine(a decentralised adapter engine).
An example of using a decentralised AE would be when we connect the PCK

    Hi Sam,
1- What is your PI version?
2- Do you use a High Availability system?
3- Can you describe your scenario?
From the 503 error, here is a generic description:
The error message 503 Service unavailable Application stopped! is displayed.
Description:The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay MAY be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.
Note: The existence of the 503 status code does not imply that a server must use it when becoming overloaded. Some servers may wish to simply refuse the connection.
Possible Tips: Because of J2EE application com.sap.aii.af.ms.app not active
u2022 Try to (re)start the application using the Visual Administrator Choose Server --> Services --> Deploy --> View on Application or restart the J2EE engine
u2022 The problem is that not all J2EE services can be started by the J2EE. i.e Start the Visual Administrator and select Server->Services->Deploy in the tree on the left. On the right-hand side, choose the Runtime tab page. You see a tree in the right window with all applications if you select the APPLICATION radio button. Check if they are running, otherwise choose Start. Usually the J2EE engine starts all services automatically.

  • Decentral adapter engine & security

    Hi Guys,
We have a requrement wherein there are 10 business systems in the landscape to be connected to XI. would it be advisable to install 10 decentral adapter engines on all the 10 business systems to ensure the security of the message sent by the different systems to SAP XI? Can we install the decentral adapter engine on the business system itself? If not, what could be the best option to ensure the secured message delivery to XI system from all the different business systems. I have read the ppt https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/03fd85cc-0201-0010-8ca4-a32a119a582d
where it says that the decentral adapter engine should be used when close proximity with the business system is needed. Does it mean that we have to install the decentral adapter engine on every business system from which we want to ensure secure message transfer?
<It is against the rules of Engagement to post a question with the catch of awarding points. Please refrain from the same.>

So, I think your have the answer in the link above:
A decentral adapter engine is used when we need to connect to other applicaton systems through a firewall.
Xi does not provide any such security, so in order to ensure security and to allow minimal access to out sld and other objects we use an external adapter engine(a decentralised adapter engine).
An example of using a decentralised AE would be when we connect the PCK
You could install a non-central adapter enfine/PCK in those business systems outside your network.
In your inside business systems is not necessary.

  • PI 7.11 - Configuration: Adapter Engines Not found

    Hi,
We have a PI 7.11 System that is connected to a central SLD. There are also two PI 7.0 systems connected to this SLD. If i open a communicationChannel i get following message:
Adapter Engines Not foundNo SLD elements of type SAP_XIAdapterFramework found
If i look in the SLD Technical Systems (Exchange Infrastructure), i see the three PI systems but only the Adapter Engines of the two PI 7.0 systems.
How can i check if the adapter engine is up and running and if it has correctly been registered by my SLD. Are there any documentation according this configuration?
    Thanks in advance

It seems adapter engine is not registered properly. For more details, please refer to the following sap notes:

  • Not able to select Adapter engine with adapter configuration

    Hello,
We've just installed new XI system (PI 7.0 SP7).
When we want to configure an comm. channel adapter running on the central adapter (eg. RFC_adapter)engine. In the dropdown bo for the Adapter Engine No entry is available for selection.
When looking in adapter monitoring Adapter engine status is okay.
Anybody a clue what is missing.

    Hi,
Go and reimport the Adapter metadata i.e SAP BASIS SWCV  7 into the Repository.
    Then check it.

  • Configuration of JMS Adapter in Central Adapter Engine

    Hi all,
I have configured Sender JMS Adapter in Central Adapter Engine with the following parameters:
    Adapter type : JMS
Transport Protocol : WebSphere MQ (non-jms)
    Message Protocol : JMS1.x
    Adapter Engine : Integration Server
Queue Connection Factory java class :Com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueueConnectionFactory
    Queue java class : com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueue
    ipadd : localhost
    port : 1414
    Queue Manager name : TEST.QMGR
    Channel Name : CH1
    JMS Queue : LQ
    CCSID : 437
    Protocol : TCP/IP
    JMS-compliant : WebSphere MQ(non-jms)
    JMS Queue user : MUSR_MQADMIN
Mapping of message : Entire Message = JMS Payload
But the status is red with an error message Sender Details : NULL
Could you please tell me what went wrong?
    Regards
    Sathya

    Hi,
Make sure that Websphere MQ server is running.
If u r comfortable with java, you can even write a Java code to acces the server and check if the JMS server is working fine. Some times there will be sample applications provided by Websphere MQ itself.
Once the java program works then it will be easy to debug the error over here.

  • Question about Integrated Configuration (Advanced Adapter Engine in PI 7.1)

    Hello,
When you use Advanced Adapter Engine in PI 7.1 with Integrated Configuration scenario, it bypasses ABAP stack therefore you can't monitor processed message in SXMB_MONI.  Instead this message shows up only in RWB Adapter Engine message monitoring.  When you select the message from there, you can view the BEFORE mapping payload in Message Content tab.  My question is how do you view the AFTER mapping payload when using Integrated Configuration.
    Thanks,
    Jay

    > My question is how do you view the AFTER mapping payload when using Integrated Configuration.
    You can't.
So first you have to configure a standard scenario and test the stuff. When everything is fine, remove the standard scenario and create an Integrated Configuration.

  • PI Email Alert Configuration - Multiple Alert in Adapter Engine

    Hi,
My SAP PI alert emails are now working. However, when I get an error in the Adapter Engine (RWB),MULTIPLE OF EMAIL ALERTS are being sent. When an error occurs in Integration Engine, only 1 email alert is sent.
For the Adapter Engine Alert Rule, i have checked the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' and i didn't receive any emails, but when I unchecked it, i receive multiple emails.
im using PI7.1 SP08. is there an effect because my SP is not updated?
    thank you.

    HI Indrajit,
    thanks for the response.
i have checked the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule' but i am not receiving an alert message. The error occurred in the RWB Adapter Engine. However, if i uncheck the 'Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule', i am receiving multiple alert messages.
    Is there an additional configuration?
    thank you.

  • Configuration Steps for Decentralized Adapter Engine

    Hi all,
What all configuration steps are required to make Adapter Engine as
    Decentralized AE.
I have made required changes in SLD DataSupplier in Visual Administrator.
what more configurations have to be done? On SAP XI Server and Decentralized
    Adapter Engine.
    With regards
    Prasad

    Prasad,
After configuring SLD data supplier in Visual Admin, you need to the following
    1) Configure the gateway service for the central integration server on adapter engine host.
    2) Perform Initial adapter engine cache refresh
    3) Trigger data transfer to SLD
    4) Check the connection parameters in exchangeProfile
    5) Create HTTP destination pmistore in java environment
you have to go through all these tests for decentralized adapter engine. If you have XI configuration guide, it has all these steps in detail for you to configure
    --Archana
