Deciding which monitor to us when launching an application

Is there a way to tell Leopard which monitor to use when launching an application?

Leo is not the issue. Some apps will open in the last window used. Some will always open in the window with the menu bar. It's a LaunchServices thing.

Installed 10.6.3. Fine at first, now crashes when launching any application

Hi.
Not sure that's the best subject for this thread, but its a long story.
was running 10.5.6 for ages. no problem
upgraded to 10.6.3 two weeks ago. everything went well. all my apps worked. I got latest drivers for my audio interfaces and everything was good.
Today, I put a dvd in for my daughter to watch, and the mac just hung ( spinning beachball, mouse moves, but can't click on anything )had to press power switch to turn off. turned on again, same thing. restarted again. tried to launch iTunes. icon bounced for a minute or so, then stopped. mouse moves, can't click on anything. beachball appears if you hover over the top menu bar.
So, I got the 10.6.3 disk out, re-installed from scratch. 45 mins later, clicked on iTunes, opened first time, plays no problem. opened couple of other apps, all well.
restarted the mac, nothing launches again!! reinstalled 10.6.3 again, everything launches as normal. Restarted, nothing launches.. So everything works after a fresh install, but restarting puts me back where I started.
clicked on spotlight while it was working and it said it was indexing the HDD, but other than that, no clue as to what could be wrong. I've not had chance to run Hardware test as I'm at work, so i'll do that in the morning, but any other suggestions or possible issues would be greatly appreciated. I have a session booked next week, and need to get a replacement if I can't get this sorted.

Hi.
update. I ran disk utility and apple hardware test, both show nothing. So I unplugged everything, re-installed 10.6.3 again, and everything was fine, restarted the machine a few times, and everythings well.
So, I plugged stuff in one at a time to see if I could replicate the issue, and when I plug my external usb hard drive in, the fault occured, had to power of using the rear button. unplugged the drive, all's fine.
I ran disk utility on the external drive, and it shows nothing. I plugged another external drive into the same usb port to eliminate that, and that drive works fine.
The thing is, the original drive thats causing the machine to crash is working fine. I can read, copy, write to and from it. Its only when I try to lauch any application that the problems start..

EREC_Error when launching Webdynpro Applications

I am experiencing "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" "CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION error when testing Internal Candidate Profile on E-recruiting via transaction se80. We are running EREC 604 and on SP0008. Does somebody knows how to rectify this? There is no log in transaction SLG1 but only Analysis from ST22.

What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION', was not caught
and
therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
Controller for View, Window, Interface, and Configuration Cannot Be Created
How to correct the error
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:

"CL_WDR_COMPONENT==============CP" or "CL_WDR_COMPONENT==============CM002"
"GET_CONTROLLER"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.

Okay, you said that I should create a candidate object for the user and check if ICF nodes has been activated. I have done that and still the error exist on the Candidate profile.
I am accessing the candidate profile using the Dev Portal start page(as per your suggestion), then when you click on My Profile the Candidate Profile is supposed to then be displayed for a candidate to maintain the profile. Instead it's where the error occurs.
There are no logs created in SLG1, only the Runtime error is displayed on ST22. The error that I posted on the original post.

Datasocket write error when launching an application

I have invested a lot of time in an applications that uses a number(>100) datasocket connections to exchange data between an application and plug in modules(called vis). I have two errors relating to the datasocket server for this application: 1.) When the server is started for the 1st time by calling the datasocket server control vi inside my code, I run a write function inside a loop for 10 iterations at 10ms intervals. No matter how I modify the number of iterations and frequency, the write function occasionally errors on first start up., and 2.) When I run the application using the Labview runtime engine(version 6.0.3) I see the same problem in addition to datasocket reads and writes not updating correctly. They do
not error but they do not exchange the correct data like they do when the full version of labview is installed on the machine.
Has anyone seen these problems before? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

The export/import option for 3.0.7 are somewhat little brittle .
What I can suggest you is to upgrade your existing 3.0.7 to 3.0.9 atleast (if not 9.0.2) .
This version has got lot of new features which you are looking into.

Unable to open forms when Launching another application on same browser.

Hi,
I have a server with configuration Oracle EBS 12.1.1 on RHEL 5.5, Database 11.1.0.7. On client machine we use Internet explorer, Firefox and Chrome to access the EBS and forms.
We are able to open the forms from all browsers, but problem arise when we access another application on same browser, resulting in not opening of oracle forms.
This is a java application using the same database on the server. This application works fine but Our Oracle Forms has to face the problems.
When we try to launch the forms, it results in FRM-92101 error. I read the MOS documents for
R12: "FRM-92101:There was a failure in the Forms Server during startup" Error When Attempting to Launch Forms [ID 454427.1]
Then I checked the application log file, it says that:
13/08/12 18:47:41.891 formsweb: Forms session <207> failed during startup: no response from runtime process
13/08/12 18:50:43.704 formsweb: Forms session <209> aborted: runtime process failed during startup with errors
Unable to switch to Working Directory: /oracle/TEST/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/forms
When I further investigate I found there is no such "forms" directory under "/oracle/TEST/apps/tech_st/10.1.3".
Then I read Oracle Notes:
FRM-92101 : Unable To Switch To Working Directory. (Doc ID 1434888.1)
FRM-92101 Error in Application.log: Unable to Switch to Working Directory (Doc ID 432708.1)
But no luck with all these. Please suggest something. Can't open both application simultaneously on same browser.

Please state whether the application was working fine before.
Please provide log file of:
--$LOG_HOMEora/10.1.3/j2ee/forms/forms_default_group_1/application.log
--DB alert logfile --check whether you can find any valuable information.

your English is fine. I don’t know what “some aus and vsts.” is, but that could be because I’m not involved in music production.
If your SuperDrive doesn’t work well enough to run your Apple Hardware Test, then you should get your SuperDrive repaired or replaced.
The only problem with your EtreCheck report which I can see is that your installed Flash Player is outdated; the latest version can be downloaded from here.
If you believe that its generated heat is abnormally high, you could try resetting its System Management Controller to see if that makes a difference.

Referencing the script folder when launching via LNK

I have been using ".\ blah blah" to reference files stored in the same folder as the script, but I ran into a situation where this actually referenced the user's home folder, not the script folder. I then found this code, which has worked well
when launching the script directly, but when the script is launched via a shortcut it fails.
Is there a modification that can be done to this code, or another option, that will consistently identify the UNC path of the running script?

Interesting. So it's not even using MyCommand.Path; it's dropping down into that last case (which I assume was written to cover PowerShell 1.0, but I'm not certain.)
Try adding this command to the function, for debugging purposes, right after the "$Invocation = ..." line:

That should give you a bunch of information that you can copy and paste here, so we can figure out what's going on.
Edit: One other thing; is this Get-ScriptDirectory function in the ps1 script itself, or is it in a PSM1 module?

Which monitors are compatible?

I have a much loved iMac G3, indigo, 400mhz, slotloader that is suffering unfixable CRT problems...horizontal static lines that jumble 99.9% of the display screen.
To fix it would cost a small fortune. I have a PowerBook G4 that I love, BUT I love working with Photoshop, and the colors are not true on the PowerBook. Just a bare tilt of the screen changes the look of everything so I have no way of checking my work.
I don't want to have to buy a whole new computer. The broken one is only 6 years old...started dying at 3yrs 1mo old...a month after the extended AppleCare expired.
I've been looking all over trying to find out which of the budget priced monitors will be compatible with my iMac so I can use it again. I can't seem to find a list of compatible monitors anywhere. Would anyone here know which monitors will work when I connect it to my disabled iMac?

Photoshop CS5 bring up the following error when launching the application
"The program can't start because MSVCP110.dll is missing from your computer"
Uninstalling and resintalling the application does not resolve this problem

If you launch the app directly from the session hosts using the same account that your using with remoteapp what are you getting? Try and RDP to the session host when you attempt it. I would also check rsop.msc to see if you have any GPO or scripts that
are manipulating themes.

Error 16 when launching adobe photoshop elements 10

I purchased this product and downloaded it. The setup and installation went fine. However when launching the application I get error 16.
I followed the instructions 3 times doing shutdown after installation. Problem still there. Please let me know if there is an answer to this.

Do you receive any errors when installing? I would recommend using the Adobe Support Advisor to analyze your installation logs.

Exception when starting WebToGo-Application

Hi,
when I start a WebToGo-Application on the Mobile Client, I get this Exception:
javax.servlet.ServletException: kta.replikation._Replikation.class not found
"Replikation" is the JSP which should be displayed when starting the application. The file exists in the our Mobile Server's repository. Can anyone tell me, why the application can't find this file?

I believe this is a side effect of two cluster members having different versions of the same class due concurrent development and testing. The best way to separate the clusters is to set each to use a different multicast address for the cluster communication. this can be done easily by using the following command line argument:
<tt>-Dtangosol.coherence.clusteraddress=224.1.1.x</tt>
Where 'x' is a value between 1 and 254.
I would also suggest setting the time-to-live of the multicast messages to zero so that the communication does not go beyond the development machine. This can be done with a similar command line argument:
<tt>-Dtangosol.coherence.ttl=0</tt>
