Decrease the height of a row or table (Was: So this keeps not happening....)

I'm a guy that likes to figure things out for myself and have been scouring the web for the last 2 days but can't seem to even get close to an answer. I am extremely frustrated.
When insert a table, or import a spreadsheet or tabular information, I cannot decrease the row or table height, beyond a a certain point. no matter what I try: CSS, cell proeprties, handles.....nothing. PLEASE HELP.
I have no probelm adjusting the width of cells/tables but cannot, for the life of me shorten the row height to where I need it.
Furthermore, every tutorial I've read/watched that inserts a table shows the newly imsetred table with a normal row height....just barely higher then the text itself. In mine, the height in my cells is maybe 5 times more that what I need it to be. I can't lessen it for the life of me.

Thanks for your response, I was able to open bridge from File-Browse in Bridge. This worked, but was not able to go back to the way I always opened Bridge. At least I could get to Bridge and go into Camera Raw. I never tried to open Bridge from the Start menu. The odd thing about this is, it has happened before, and to get it "unstuck" and working again, I would shut down and restart again in a few minutes, and things would go back to normal. This time it did not go back to normal after several attempts. I shut down for about 3-4 hours, restarted, and it seems to be back to normal again. I am not sure if it's a problem that is getting worse each time it happens. And yes I am using Mini Bridge in photoshop CS5. Thank you for your help. Dan

I am the web master for myschool. We use sharpschool and when I go into edit our web pages all is see is the html code. I would like to have the sharpschool user friendly "word" edit come up. This does not happen with IE.

When printing page data in Schwab, the font is so tiny it's almost invisible - this does not happen in Windows Exploror.

On 2/20/2013 all printing was normal. On 2/21/2013 not only did the printing not work, but PDF files did not show up properly. Is this a new version of Firefox? I got the PDF reset so that works now, but not the printing. In Comcast email, the date field shifts way to the right and forces the font smaller. When I uncheck "shrink to fit" it does not wrap the text but rather chops it off when I increase the font size.
Today I tried printing pages from Schwab using their "Print Page" button which always worked in the past but today it was unreadable.

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

When accessing certain links I get the follwoing on a white page: It Works! This does not happen at the link using Explorer

An example of this is when I clicked on the link for the weather .gov radar site on my bookmark it did not go to the radar site but returned the white pager with the owrs: It Works!
This has occurred on other sites where I have tried to access a link. I used Explorer and was able to access the site.
Any thoughts? I have run an antivirus scan to no avail.

How do I stop Firefox 31.0 from closing down when I close the only tab that I have previously opened. This has not happened before and is infuriating.

As far as I am aware this problem started with the upgrade to Firefox 31.0. If I open Firefox and look at a website and then close that website, then Firefox closes down. The same thing also happens whenever I close the last of a number of websites that I have previously opened. Previously, I could close the last website looked at and the process did not close down Firefox, merely left me with my Homepage.

Within the past three days my toolbars are frozen. This does not happen with Internet Explorer, only Firebox.

There is a bar above my email when open. I cannot sign out or access any other features. When I click on them nothing happens and there is no "hand" indicating functionality.

Set your columns back to one for the moment. In layout mode, insert a Text box. Place it in the upper left corner of your document, and drag down and right to the size of the container for your two columns. Click inside the Text Box, and now bump up your columns to 2. Your two columns are now contained in this resizable Text Box.

Please add the JavaScript code to the Content Edit Web Part, then the height will be changed.

How much do you want to decrease the panel height?
There are two limiting factors, namely the minimum computed size of its components and the layout-dependent computed size. Window resizing will 'clip' the panel, but its dimensions remain the same once this limit has been reached.
With respect to the first factor, there are only a few things that can be done: change the font or image sizes of internal components, change the spacing between components, change the borders around and within the components (where applicable).
With respect to the second factor, there is some flexibility, but it depends on what your app requires. The only way to reduce the height of a BorderLayout.NORTH panel is to force its size down by adding other panels BorderLayout.CENTER and/or BorderLayout.SOUTH in such a way that at least the CENTER panel expands out and causes the NORTH (and possibly SOUTH) panel(s) to compute to their smallest dimensions. Otherwise, the computation will expand the NORTH panel as far as it can or divide between the two or three equally (for example, if each panel only contains buttons with text). Nonetheless, by default, the CENTER panel occupies the largest region, pushing the others to the borders as tightly as possible. Do you have a CENTER panel added?
