Default Filter for ALV dashboard

Hi All,
I am working on Webdynpro ABAP and have created an ALV table using the standard component SALV_WD_TABLE.
In the ALV table output, we have settings and filter on the top right hand side of the table. On clicking the filter, a filter appears on the top of the table.
On clicking settings i can have customizations done to the table for my user. I can also describe filters in the settings.
I am wondering if we can have the filter displayed by default without clicking on the filter link.
Please let me know in case anyone has done this before or have any suggestions.

How to Pre-Select a View for ALV dashboard at runtime

Hello Experts,
The requirement is to pre-select 1 view initially (out of several configured) for 'All' users and disable the 'View-selection' dropdown function in a standard ALV dashboard. So whenever the dashboard loads, a particular view has to be set automatically for all users.
I need your help for the first part, which is to always pre-set a 'View' in a standard dashboard.
I tried to implement the suggestion provided in the following thread:
How to apply ALV view at runtime
However I couldn't make this work in my case. I created a Post-Exit of a method in Comp Ctlr of dashboard (Initialize method) - where I receive the refrence 'IWCI_SALV_WD_TABLE'. Then calling the method 'GET_CONFIG_DATA' with action 'if_salv_wd_table=>set', I try to set the view, but it has no effect.

Possible to have dynamic default selections for a dashboard prompt?

I'm running OBIEE 11.1.1.6.5, and I have customer who would like to know if it is possible to dynamically select default values on a dashboard prompt based upon other user prompted columns on the same prompt. For example, I built a dashboard prompt with three fields: Month, Customer, and Product; and I want to add a default selection to my Products prompt to pick the "top 4 products" based on the selected Month and Customer.. assuming every Customer+Month has a different "top 4 products".
Does anyone please have a suggestion on how I could approach this solution?

Thank you for your response. I've tested this approach and it seems promising. My concern I have there is how to treat "(All Choices)" values. Say the user selects All Choices on customer or period, and the presentation value in my SQL Results query reverts to whatever default value specified, which is not the intended behavior. My question then becomes how do I treat the null or All Choices and somehow omit the filter criteria or specify fy All Choices as a default to the presentation variable? Your advice is much appreciated.

Lead Selection does not work after setting filter for ALV.

Hi, Can you please suggest on below scenario :
I have a Node with a sub node in it .
I am using the supply function on Sub Node to retrieve the date based on Parent Node.
There are two ALV's to display parent and item data. The issue is when a filter(user defined filter) is done on Parent table, the supply function does not work. The value is that of the selected row before setting the filter. Even after removing the filter, the item data is stuck and does not change on Lead Selection.
One thing I noticed is if the child table is a table UI, there is no issue. The only problem is when the second table is ALV

Your issue can be resolved as below
Create an event handler method 'set_alv_data' for the event 'ON_LEAD_SELECT' of parent alv
Write the below code inside the event handler method
METHOD set_alv_data.
DATA lo_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
DATA lv_path TYPE string.
DATA lv_index TYPE string.
lv_index = r_param->index.
CONDENSE lv_index.
CONCATENATE wd_this->wdctx_my_parent_node
lv_index
wd_this->wdctx_my_child_node
INTO lv_path SEPARATED BY '.'.
lo_node = wd_context->path_get_node(
      path                          = lv_path
DATA lo_interface TYPE REF TO iwci_salv_wd_table.
lo_interface = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv_child( ). "get the ref of alv comp of child
lo_interface->set_data(
    EXPORTING
*    only_if_new_descr =
      r_node_data       = lo_node
ENDMETHOD.
The above code sets the data node of child alv based on lead selection of parent alv data.
Note: Replace 'parent_node', 'child_node' with your nodes & 'alv_child' with your alv component name of child alv.
If you want to control the data of child alv on filter function, you can use the event ON_STD_FUNCTION_AFTE and once you define the filter you get the r_param->id = 'SALV_WD_FILTER_DEFINE' & now you can clear data of child alv.

Removing filter for ALV grid

Hi friends
I am using an ALV grid to display my data. Once i used the filter in grid to filter some datas and go back to selection screen & executed the report again, the filter is still active and not showing all datas. How to avoid this.

I find the solution if you are using ALV OO.
For delete the ALV's filter call the method SET_FILTER_CRITERIA and send the parameter IT_FILTER with a itab empty.

Can we have a Default Value for the dashboard prompt ?

I have a requirement as when we run the dashboard, dashboard prompt should be defaulted with a value for the first time.
Defaulting the values is done by SQL Results,but when i try to change the values for that prompt it is not showing any other values other than the defaulted prompt.
Ex: I have a dashboard prompt as Employee Name and i have defaulted the value for that with 'Scott' and ran the dashboard.
When i try to run it for different employee i am not able to get other values to be selected.
Do we have any mechanism as such we can have default value when we run the dashboard for the first time and then all the values when we run it for the second time?

How to set default layout for ALV grid ?

Dear all,
When execute ALV reports, the user customize the layout for their own purpose. But each time they run that report, they must choose again their layout. Is there any way to set the layout as default ?

After you have created a layout just follow the steps listed below for making it as default layout:
1. Click (Save Layout).
2. Enter a name in the Save Layout field. The name must begin with a letter.
3. Type in a description for the layout in the Name field.
4. Select the Default Setting check box if you want this layout to be the default layout every time you run
the report.
5. Click (Continue).
Note: A warning message will appear if you are trying to save over an existing layout. Close the box by
selecting the X in the upper right hand corner or choose Yes to overwrite the layout.

In my alv report there are 20 cloumns.
after display i usualy choose 12 of them from CHOOSE LAYOUT option and then give it to print...
how to set this LAYOUT as default

you can do it.
after declaring the catlog table you will give as
wa_catlog-seltext_l = 'material'.
wa_catlog-datatype = 'char'.
wa_catlog-outputlen = 18.
wa_catlog-fieldname = 'matnr'.
append wa_catlog to i_catlog.
clear wa_catlog.
wa_catlog-seltext_l = 'plantl'.
wa_catlog-datatype = 'char'.
wa_catlog-outputlen = 4.
wa_catlog-fieldname = 'werks'.
append wa_catlog to i_catlog.
clear wa_catlog.
similarly what sequence you give here i.e. material , plant etc. you get the output in the same oder you can even give only the fields you want in the output.

when i use the standard function of alv export, list-export-local file-spreadsheet
the default filepath is "C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\SAP\SAP GUI\"
may i change the default filepath to another direction?

UCCX/CUIC 10.5 - Default filter error when trying to run reports through dashboard

I'm new to CUIC. We just upgraded UCCX to 10.5.1 this past weekend, and I'm working on building a dashboard to replace the old wallboard that was custom written by our integrator previously. When I add the live report for CSQ Detail (example...name may be a little off), it displays the options you would expect in the dashboard designer. When I create a permalink and attempt to run it, it throws an error about not having a default filter specified...what should I be looking for to setup the default filter?
I've been looking through the user guide, but can't find anything specific around default filters.

Click on the header for the "Reports" drawer to open the "Available Reports" tab. Find the report you are trying to permalink and right click -> Edit. Click the "Edit Default Filter" button in the top left or bottom left and you can create and save a default filter for the report.

Interactive report and default-filter

i have a question regarding interactive reports and default-filter for a date: is it possible to use the current date for the default-filter? apex need 'dd.MM.yyyy' for the filter... already tried to_date(sysdate, 'dd.MM.yyyy')

I've just been trying the "in the last" option and had no problems for any number that I entered. Are you just entering 1 into the box? What error do you get?

I need to filter the report on the basis of one of the filter on the column which is created by custom calculation :

and this in the Number format.
