DEFAULT GATEWAY ERROR
we recently installed microsoft outlook 2013 in windows 7 in our office whille we are trying to connect the outlook to exchange server it show some message
message appearing on my screen is :The action can nt completed. The microsoft exchanage is unavaliable.your network adapter doesnt have the default gateway error.
In microsoft exchange community we seen some solution and that solutions are also tried we get solution for this problem,so please suggest us solution to this problem.
Hi,
If your client doesn't have a Default Gateway, then you need to create a Dword named
DefConnectOpts, value "0" in the registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\RPC
See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843
If you do have Default Gateway, then may I ask if you are connecting to an Exchange Server over Direct Access?

Loss of default gateway - to auto-shutdown radio
Hi,
I need a solution where, if an access point looses its connection to its default gateway, that it automatically shuts the radio down. And when the default gateway is again available, the radio is automatically turned on again. By connection, I do not just mean that the AP FastEthernet port link status changes.
Some kind of functionality like the 'track rtr reachability' that probes the default gateway, and takes action if the default gateway cannot be reached.
How to, if at all possible...
Problem is that wireless equipment will connect to the access point if the radio is up but the access point does not have access to its default gateway (for some error reason other than the local Ethernet link, but also that...)
Thanks
JohnnyHi,
unfortunately that does not solve this problem:
Router (def. gw for WAP)
Switch 1
Switch 2
Wireless Access Point (WAP)
If switch 1 is down or if the link from switch 1 to the router is down, then the WAP radio will still be up. I need for it to handle a loss to its default gateway, not just its local ethernet wire.

Default Gateway when connected to VPN
Thanks for reading!
This is probably a dump question so bear with me...
I have set up a VPN connection with a Cisco ASA 5505 fronting internet, with the customers environment behind it (on the same subnet), When connected ot the VPN I can reach the inside Router fronting me and one switch behind the Router (every switch is connected to the router), but nothing else.
My beet is that the Router is messing with my connection, but,, nevermind that!, the setup ain't complete anyway... my question is more related to the Gateway I'm missing when I'm, from the outside, is connected to the VPN on the ASA, could this mess it up? Shouldn't I have a Standard-Gateway in the ipconfig settings in windows?
This is who it looks like now:

But... the 172.16.12.0 network is directly connected, the Router (that to be honest is a firewall) / switches is all on the same subnet (172.16.12.X/24), so sorry I didn't explain thoroughly, was more wondering about the GW and didn't want to overcomplicate things..
The Firewall/Router dosen't do any routing, so it should work right (I you count out the firewalling in the firewall and so forth, there shouldn't be any problems accomplishing this with the ASA)? The Firewall is more a DHCP for the clients/Firwall for the clients.. this will change in the future.. it will be removed,
the vpn network is staticly routed back to my ASA in that firewall...
I don't like this solution.. but this is who it looks.. for now..
(VPN network is 10.10.10.X/24)
But... shouldn't I see a default gateway under ipconfig when I'm connected to the VPN from internet, on the vpn client that's vpned in, is this correct?
THANKS for all the help! -
Set default gateway on headless server (via ssh)
I'm trying to configure one of the two ethernet interfaces on a headless Xserve. I managed to give it an address and subnet mask with ifconfig, but I can't figure out how to give it a default gateway or dns server.
I tried using this:
sudo route add default gw xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx en0
but I got the error 'route: bad address: gw'
is there something wrong with my syntax, or does this just not work on OS X?Something's wrong with your syntax
Try:
<pre class=command>sudo route add default a.b.c.d</pre>
The keyword 'gw' is not needed, and you also don't need to specify an interface since the OS should be able to work it out from the IP address(es) assigned to your interface(s). -
Where we need to put default gateway?
Hi ,
I am installing ORACLE RAC on vmware.
my network setting is in this way.
on node1
eth0 192.168.0.1
eth1 192.168.0.11
on node 2
eth0 192.168.0.2
eth1 192.168.0.22
where should i define default gateway. i.e on eth0 or eth1?
thanks.Hi chandra,
I did initially but at that time i was getting an error.
after that i set the vip only for eth0 was getting an error but i change the parameter in racgvip it works.
In the previous where i applied vip on both eth0 and eth1 in that i doesnt work.
I am confused. In my case it doesnt work for both unlsess i change the parameter in racgvip.
in both was getting an error default gateway is not defined.
Thanks -
WRT300N - Default Gateway issue
I'm using a wireless internet connection for my laptop and when I tried to connect to the internet earlier I got an error telling me that my default gateway was offline. I unplugged everything for 5 minutes and it still didn't work so I typed the default gateway address into the bar and it wouldn't even load (I got an error page). When I went into cmd and typed ipconfig/all my default gateway IP wasn't even listed. How do I get this back online?
Message Edited by Mandie on 01-06-2009 03:24 PMIf you don't have any computer connected to the Internet throught the router is highly possible that you have lost the configuration on your router...You should re-configure your router...
If you have a desktop connected to the router fine, else connect your laptop to ethernet port 1 on the router...Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Change default gateway using *netipaddress* cmdlet
Hi, is there a way to change the DFG after the IP is assigned to an adapter?
I am using Server 2012. I created a new IP using "new-netipaddress -Ipaddress 1.2.3.4 -prefixlength 24 -interfaceindex 10". I have forgotten to add the -defaultgateway parameter in the command. IP address was sucessfully assigned, but I cannot figure out
a way to change/add a default gateway.
Does anyone know how to do it via native powershell cmdlets (no gwmi, functions or scripts)?
CheersI am having a similar problem and using Remove-NetIPAddress does not really help. Remove-NetIPAddress does not affect gateway settings and gateways remain assigned to the net adapter. Furthermore, after I use RemoveNetIPAddress cmdlet, the NetTCPIP\Get-NetIPConfiguration
cmdlet starts producing a non-terminating error. Here is a repro script:

VPN Client : Default Gateway
Hi,
I have ASA 5505 with ASA v 8.0.3 and ASDM v 6.0.3.
The VPN connection works, the client receive the IP from the define pool but the default gateway is not correct. Is it possible to define the gateway in the pool ?
thank youDimitri
I am not clear what default gateway you expected, what default gateway you got, or what was no correct about the gateway. Perhaps you can clarify?
In my experience many people are surprised that the gateway address is the clients own address and not some other address in the subnet as we normally expect with a LAN client. But this is normal behavior on what is essentially a point to point connection from the client to the concentrator. Is this perhaps what you were thinking was an error?

Meetingplace server crash and lost the default gateway info
HI all
I have ver 2.0.1.15. I have first eth0 on ip 10.1.1.18 and 2nd eth1 192.168.162.21. will crash and the default gateway on eth0 will be gone. Am i doing something wrong.Shannon,
Harry is asking you the right question, because a theme with any bad syntax in it (especially custom XSLT files) will get scrapped when the server restarts.
Try to think of something you changed recently, revert it to see of the theme will show up, and try to find the syntax error in your recent changes.
This caught me by surprise when it first happened, but I suppose it is a nice feature. The Wiki Server falls back on a theme that works, which are the built-in ones. It would be nice if the errors were logged instead of just scrapping the theme, but I assume the spirit is to give you a wiki that works, rather than a nicely themed wiki that has errors. -
Setting permanent default gateway in OEL 6
Hello,
how can a default gateway be set permanently in OEL6?
At the moment I am setting iit manually every time the machine or the network service is restarted:
$ /sbin/route add -net default gw IPADDRESSThanks on advance.
AngelHi again,
looks like we managed to achieve the target following the steps in section 4.4 of the Deployment manual at http://linux.oracle.com/documentation/EL6/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-6-Deployment_Guide-en-US.pdf. The link you provided was pointing to Development manual.
I created a file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/route-bond0.764 with the following content:
0.0.0.0/0 via 10.7.79.250 dev bond0.764Using the "network/netmask" format. That way it works all right:
$netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
0.0.0.0 10.7.79.250 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 bond0.764Just for FYI, first of all I tried with the following content:
default 10.7.79.250 dev bond0.764But when bouncing the network service, I was getting this error:
Bringing up interface bond0.764: Error: either "to" is a duplicate, or "10.7.79.250" is a garbage.'Not sure which was the reason for this error anyway.
Looks like when using channel bonding, gateway specification in the usual files (/etc/sysconfig/network or /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-bond* ) makes no effect for any reason.
Let me know if I can do something to find out why it makes no effect.
Thanks a lot for you help.
Angel

The Default Gateway Is Not Available / Problem
Hello, I recently purchased this HP Pavileon laptop, and I've been encountering this problem very often (every 2-10 minutes). This problem is getting extremely frustrating as absolutely nobody has been able to provide a fix for this issue.
When the laptop is on battery mode (this does not happen when plugged in); I commonly get disconnected from my wi-fi connection and to fix it, I must run the troubleshooter. This temporarily fixes the issue by resetting the wi-fi adapter.
What I have tried and has not worked:
* Turn off to save power option in the driver settings (in Device Manager) untickets
* Updated drivers
* New power plan
* Tried different drivers
* Complete system restore
The wireless adapter is Realtek RTL 8188EE. Upon running the troubleshooter, this is all the information from the detailed information section:

Have you installed the latest Windows 8.1 updates?
Do not install optional video graphics updates.
I was runnning into a similar problem with my HP product loan Envy Spectre 13 TouchSmart Ultrabook until I did the updates. I had upgraded my wireless router to a model with 802.11AC specification.
Invoke the Device Manager and ensure that the box next to Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power is unchecked.

How to fix gateway error in a View Page?
I have created an override view page and I need to add a button or link which should take the user to a page in different server. I am getting gateway error. The sample code as follows. Any thougts will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
string sUrl = "<pt:gatewayLink pt:href='http://appserver/step1.asp' pt:objectID='206' pt:classID='35' xmlns:pt='http://www.plumtree.com/xmlschemas/ptui/'/>"; HTMLAnchor myAnchor = new HTMLAnchor(sUrl); myAnchor.AddInnerHTMLString("Add a Logo"); myCell.AddInnerHTMLElement(myAnchor);i think, something is wrong in the approach itself.
when you include the code, you do not need to create a new
instance of Hmenu. Instead, you can simply use lnkBar .addChild(),
because the this code is of your Hmenu itself.
But i suggest you to use dataprovider for the linkbar instead
of looping through the categories and adding the child.
you just declare xmlData as Bindable and provide it as
dataProvider of the linkbar.
hope it works.
