Default values in ALV

When i add a new row in ALV in webdynpro, i need some columns to have some default values. I am using the standard functionality of ALV in webdynpro to append rows (that is by setting the set_editable property to abap_true). Could someone tell how i can achieve this.

What i need is slightly different. When i append new rows, the new row should have default values based on the last row in the grid. For example, there are start dates and end dates in the grid, for the new row, the start date should be one day after the end date in the preceding row. Could you tell me how i can achieve this.

All,
I am using "set_table_for_first_display" to display a grid with empty editable rows wherein which users can enter data and process certain transactions.
My requirement is to know if we can provide drop-downs and default values in this grid. for ex. if user want to insert a row, that row should automatically have some default values like company code, sales org etc.
Also, if there is an error while validating the data, I should be able to set the focus on that field while displaying the error message. I was able to display error message but could not set the focus on the field that need to be corrected.

ALV - default values in standard screen

In CLM1 transaction, on cost tab there is ALV Grid control for data entry purpose. My requirement is to add some default values in ALV grid fields. Can any body tell me how to do it without modifying the standard object?

in CLM1 transaction on cost tab I can see 4 input fields for estimated, required and accepted cost and the currency.
Where do you see an ALV Grid?
BTW: It is not possible to save any input values in an ALV layout. Only appearence as sorting, filtering and columns positioning can be saved in ALV layout variant.

Displaying default value for a field in ALV table

 I am having an ALV table in which I want to display Requisition number by default using a value which i generated randomly and it is stored in a variable.
While displaying ALV table my req number field should display that value by default when ever user is inserting a row( all the coloumns n my alv are editable.

I m using interactive ALV grid with 1 column editable with some default values, When i m clicking on SAVE button, only the values which are changed by the user in that column are coming in the internal table, & the default values are automatically deleted by the following code....
But my requirement is to save all the default & changed values of the ALV column....

When ur doing the CHECK_CHANGED_DATA, u ll get the edited values inside this callback sub -routine only. so here u trap the values those are changed ( thats after editing).
Once the control goes back to the original program ( calling prog ) , u ll end up with ur old data ( before editing).
you ll have to handle that explictly in your code, or shift to OO alv grid like this -

Change default variant in ALV grid on runtime

Hello colleagues,
where is the place in a code (CL_ALV_VARIANT, CL_GUI_ALV_GRID, ...) where I can change the deault layout. Customer require a modification which change default layout in ALV under specific circumstances.

It depend when these "specific circumstances" are occurring?
Before displaying the ALV, then force the value of the variant used in set_table_for_first_display,

If you want to simulate multiple "default variant" you should "mislead" the ALV by changing the report name used for storing variant (IS_VARIANT-REPORT) But in this case you will no longuer see every variant when in the ALV, only those of the "report name" passed when setting for first display.

Default Value is not getting displayed in SUN ONE Ldap

I have created an attribute in slapd.user_at.conf and it is associated in slapd.user_oc.conf.
The attribute default value is given through SUN ONE Console. But, In our application the default value is not getting displayed.
We need the default value to run our applicatin. Can anyone help me for this issue

I belive this issue can be resolved by changing the Query proprties for the perticular field.
Kindly check the Field proerties in query designer and ensure that Text is enabled ather than Key.
__Field property check up:__Go to query designer->click onn the field-> Right hand side in properties click on display tab-> select Text in drop down menu of Display as tab.
FURTHER CHECK UP: check the master data avaiulability for the perticular info object, if masterdata is not available, do the text data for txt data availability in report level.

PS: Ooops I just noticed you meant transparent table but I wrote about internal one. As long as you maintain that table using maintenance view you can use event 05 - When Creating a New Entry and set fixed value for a field there. So whenever you create new entry it will receive that value.

SQLLDR - how to set a default value for an empty string

I'm using SQLLDR to load data from a flat file on Oracle 10g 10.2.0.4 EE, Linux RHEL 4 update 6. Seems like my question is simple, but darned if I can't find the solution.
My source file (comma delimited extracted form a different RDBMS) has some (not all) rows where the output for a string is "", and not NULL. How do I check for empty string and add a default value in the control file? The target column is non-nullable
Here's my current control file - however, the column attributeName where sometimes the source record is "" does not get evaluated as NULL.

Multiple Default Values in a Multi-Select LOV Parameter?

Hi,
I have a report in BI Publisher standalone version 10.1.3.4. The report has a list of values called org_lov. This lov is attached to a multi-selection p_org_code parameter from which it is desirable to also have multiple default values.
For example, if org_lov has the following values:
100
101
102
103
104
105
106
I would like to have 3 default values and have 100, 101,105 as the defaults if the user doesn't specifically select anything from the LOV. So far my testing has only allowed a single default value.
Here are my settings:
Data type = string
Multiple Selection = checked
Can select All = checked (all values passed)
On the Default Value field, I have tried the following:
1. 100, 101,105
2. [100, 101,105]
3. '100', '101','105'
4. (100, 101,105)
5. ['100', '101','105']
6. ('100', '101','105')
I don't need these default values highlighted in the LOV, I just need it passed correctly to the query (a data template).

Sorry for the delayed reply. I tried what you suggested but the problem is that by having the "Multiple Selection" property of the parameter unchecked, the result is that it allows the user to only have a single value passed. The user wants the option to select multiple values AND also have the multiple default values.
