Defaulting the values in BP

HI,
I would like to default the customer pricing procedure in Account sales area data in web ui 2007.
To default currency I would able to do it because it is F4 help, i implemeted Get_currency method.
Customer pricing procedure is picklist(dropdown). I could not default the value in drop down.
please suggest me step by step how to default customer pricing procedure in Account section web ui 2007.

So could you help me to identify the event by which one can keep default values in screen.
May be ISDAT or ISSTA event to default the valuesfor BP.
I have done to some extent for the fields belonging to BUT000 with the help of FM BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET. I have placed a Z FM in ISDAT event. But the problem lies with the fields belonging to other tables.

How do I default the value in an LOV?

Dear experts,
What I am trying to achieve is changing the default value in an LOV, based on the value of another field. I have an LOV that lists employee names. There is another field, an account number, which when selected is used to determine the default employee set against this account. This employee I want to use to add into the LOV as a default the value, before the user selects a value in the LOV. The user can still invoke the LOV and search for a different employee, but the functionality I am concered with is setting this default employee.
I have modified the ProcessForm in the associated controller class. I have obtained the account number and using an SQL query I have obtained the default employer, but I can not seem to set this value in the LOV as a default. Does any one have any ideas?
For the LOV there are two criteria values in the LOV mapping, the org id and the code combination id, both used in the query to get the default employee.

How to default the value in Parameter ?

Hi all,
How am I going to default the paramenter say I have the From Item >= '0' and To Item <= '99999999', I will like system to be defaulted back the value in the parameter everytime when the refresh is being pressed ?
Currently, I have set the default value in the parameter, it work fine for the very first time, but after I have put the search value in the refresh button, the system still showing the old value which I have keyed in earlier. I want system to be defaulted the value that I keyed in the parameter. How to do that ?

Are you using Discoverer Plus?
If so, there is a preference in pref.txt that controls whether the parameter values are saved with the workbook. It is called SaveLastUsedParamValue. This has two settings as follows:
0 - Use the default value as set by the report writer
1 - Save the value the user just entered and use that as the default the next time

How to default the values in BP screen with BDT?

I am working in BDT enhancement for BP for Grants mangement. Therefore there are some screen fields in BP transaction should directly get saved in GMSPONSOR table. I mean to say user would give some values in BP screen(One can get it at the runtime by calling the FM BUP_BUPA_BUT000_GET) and the relevant values will autometically goes to GMSPONSOR table if the BP is saved.
As per my knowlwdge there are many events under BUPT transaction and there also I found the entry of GMSPONSOR table. Can anyone tell me in which event I have to default these screen values and redirect these to GMSPONSOR table?

Can we change the default values to null....
Actually i have from and to date fields....when ever page opens the vales are geting defaulting in that fields...
I need to make this as null....by using personalization is it possible( if yes...need help) or i need to extend the co..

If the values are defaulting from the "initial value" property it can be set to null by removing those values from personalization, but I feel it will be defaulting from code if it is so, same can not be achieved by personalization.

Yes, you can do this thru the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR responsibilities. Query the Ship Confrim concurrent program and use the parameter window to default a values.

Urgent: Defaulting the value for a Lov item

Hello,
I have a lov item mapped to it's corersponding VO. I need to default it to certain value, but keep on getting the error with prompt to select a valid value, even though there is only one value being returned on searching.
The settings:
"Disable Validation" set to false.
I am executing the VO in processRequest so that it returns only one value, and then setting the Lov item with this value - using settext and setvalue.
Is there any other way to maually set the value of the item and retain the validation property?

The DFF fields that are being fetched vary according to the context being passed from the lov, hence making it difficult to maually handle the bean setting. Any idea of any work around?

How to default the value of a selectOneChoice when adding a row to a table

I have a table where one of the fields is a selectOneChoice. When adding a row to the table, the new row to be added displays the selectoneChoice field blank. I would like to have this field default to a specific value within the selectoneChoice when clicking the add button. Any suggestion on the code I need to add in the backing bean? Thanks in advance.

After some studying I figured out how to do this... code below for anyone interested:

Possible to default the value displayed in a dropdown?

My form has several drop down list boxes which I prefill in WDA with values - specifically, Project Manager name.
When I go in to my form, I can select any one and Submit back to the backend. the data is saved appropriately.
When I go in Change Mode, I select the data from the backend to display in my form, but those names do not populate in my drop down fields.
I know this is possible, because there are a few other drop down boxes that do come back pre-filled.
The only difference between the dropdown boxes that do work and those that don't is that the ones that do work have static values defined in the form while the others have values populated dynamically from the web dynpro and passed in to the form.
any ideas?

EDIT.. I fixed this by passing the drop down VALUE to the form instead of the actual TEXT.
for instance, my manager's id was 12345 but I passed John Doe.
passing 12345 chose the correct TEXT to display.

How to Change the default Search value for Field Role?

I went through numerous threads on how to default the search value , but does not help for my issue. Hence im posting this new thread. Please provide your suggestions on how to achieve this.
For the Ship-to party field (in item detail ) on webui when i do a F4 help i get the pop up with various search criteria and for the field Role the default value is "Ship-to party". which is visible. we need to change this default value to Prospect which is available in drop down.
The attribute is STRUCT.ROLE and view BP_HEAD_SEARCH/SearchHelp . The method GET_DQUERY_VALUEHELPS from the context node class is called to fill the value help for this attribute, but i dont understand how the ship-to party is filled as default. There is no code in this method to default the value.
The generic GET_V_S_STRUCT method also does not default the Ship-to party on this field.
I want to understand how this Ship-to party is filled by default and how can i change this to prospect..

We had a same requirement of defaulting Sales org and division in search criteria for a specific value.
this can be doen by redefining "DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT" method in IMPL class for the respective view.

Getting mandatory attribute validation error when the value is defaulted through customization

Hi
I am getting Mandatory attribute validation error when we default the value through customization.
In the UI we have attribute called Last Name which is mandatory at EO level. Customer wanted to default Last name to some value, through page composer it is defaulted to some text and saved.
When ever we open the page the the same value is defaulted as Last Name and appearing in the UI. But when we submit the page, EO level validation is failing. hence we are getting last name is missing.
When i debug the code last name attribute value for EO is blank.
In the UI the attribute last name is associated with bindings --> #{bindings.lastname.inputvalue}
The validation is failing if we remove the default binding associated with inputtext box.
Can some body help what can be reason and is there any solution?

I am struggling with same situation, I can't set the default value at business component because, the default value comes from a REST service at run time. In page A, I have a field F1 that contains value from REST service. Page B has a database bound field F2, whose default value should come from F1 in Page A when a user navigates from Page A to Page B. If I set the value of F2 to be the value of F1, then it displays the value in the UI, but nothing gets submitted to EO and fails at commit.
To make things difficult, here is my situation: Page A lives in bounded taskflow TF1, and Page B lives in bounded taskflow TF2. So I have created an input parameter P1 in TF 2, which carries over the value of F1 in Page A to Page B. When I am in Page B, I can successfully see the value of the taskflow input parameter P1. So, how do I programmatically set the value of field F2 with the value of input parameter P1?
I tried setting the F2.inputValue in a method call M1 in taskflow TF2 prior to Page B, but I get null pointer exception as it can't see field F2 yet.
It seems like a simple thing to do, but I have spent a lot of time trying to make it work without any success.
I would greatly appreciate any guidance.

Pivot table not displaying the values correctly

Hi,
I have created a pivot table in which i am using 2 tables. I pulled columns from table A and one column from table B in the measures section to get the grand total. All the rows are comming fine but, its not returning any values for tableB's column(if i pull it into measures).
If the column stays under rows section, the report is comming out fine.
I need the total to be displayed in the report.
Can some body help me with this.

i have set the column's aggregation to sum, and it is comming out correctly in the grand total, how ever, i have some of the coulmns which i am taking the %
col3= (col2/col1)*100
col1- aggregation set as Sum, col2 and col3 is set as default
The values for col3 are comming finr in report , where as it is not returning correct value for garnd total row.
ex: row w--- col1 col2 col3
row1-----6630 1130 17.04
row2 6114 994 16.26
total 23317 3739 56.40(should be 16.2..)
For col3 it is calculating like this(3739-total of col2/ 6630 -first row of col1 *100)
Instead of taking total , it is taking the first row.
I tried different aggregations, but was still unable to get the correct value. Can you please let me know if i am missing anything.
Can we define custom aggregations.

Setting default value for a jcombobox based on the value not the index

I am trying to set the default value for my combobox to the current year. One way I thought of doing it was to get the index of the value representing the current year and then use setSelectedInex to make it the default. Any ideas?

How to default the KFF segment values based on other field's value

Hi,
I would need to reset the 5th segment value of "Liability Account" field on R12 Supplier Page under "Accounting" link.
Condition: And it has to be based on some other value like "GLOBAL CONTEXT VALUE and TaxPayer ID Type" under "Organization" link.
Right now; as per the seeded page it defaults the Liability Account to "BL-130-0000-2110-0000-0000" under accounting link; I need to change this default value to "BL-130-0000-2110-2641-0000" based on above condition.
I have tried using the below code:

Set the default field value to transaction code field, when calling from WD

Hi all,
Can we pass the value in a input field of a standard transaction calling from WD application. Suppose we are calling a transaction VA03 in an external window, then how will be pass the value in the VBAK_VBELN screen field.
Is there any way to pass the value to this transaction field. I have also tried out to set the parameter ID 'AUN' for VA03 transaction VBELN field. But it did not work for me.
Is there any way to set the default field value to transaction code field, when calling from WD?
Please suggest, if anyone have any idea.
