Define screenshot format from commandline interface
Hi,
is there a way to define the default screenshot format
(jpg, vs. png, vs tiff, vs. pdf) from Terminal ?
Background: i am working on a small screenshot application, where the user should be able to make screenshots without knowing the shortcuts (works).
In addition i would like to offer the option to define the format in the apps preferences, therefor i would need some way to change the default format, i.e. using a defaults write command or similar.
Your help is appreciated
Best regards
fidel
Edit: works like this:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type image_format
which needs a logout to work - thats somehow not perfect - any other ideas in mind ?

You answered your query. Use defaults write com.apple.screencapture type image_format and require a logout or restart.

Define Import format for location which is connected to database in FDMEE
Hi,
I have created new location in FDMEE and created BefImport script to load data from orcle to Open Interface table.
Now, I need to import data from open interface table to FDMEE. Can any one let me know what would be the source system for it as it cannot be file and how to define mappings for the same (Are we going to define mappings the same way as we do for delimited file).
Quick suggestions on this are highly appreciated...
Thanks in advanceYou need to use the Open Interface Adpater to load data from the Open Interface table into FDMEE where it can be mapped as appropriate. Check out Appendix E in the FDMEE Admin guide for details on how to do this

Hi
We use Vision Builder for machine vision. There are two interfaces in Vision Builder (Inspection Interface & Configuration interface). It is better machine vision operator would work with Inspection Interface and he should not access to all of setting and tools but he need to redefine some parameter like RIO in some tools like measuring tools for different products.
Is it possible to move some tools or their setting parameter from Configuration interface to Inspection Interface?
Or is it possible to define security like password to some tools and their setting but not all of them?
Thanks
RefaVision Builder generally isn't supposed to rely on user input, but there is a step called "User Input" that allows you to get input from the user. ROI would be tricky. I think the slickest way to do that would be to create a VI that displays the image, lets the user drag a rectangle, then pass those coordinates back to Vision Builder to configure the ROI.

How to invoke RFC function module from XI interface
Hi all,
I am having one question, How to invoke RFC function module from XI interface.
Please reply me as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance,
RadhikaHi,
To call the RFC in mapping u need to create the RFC lookups...check these links.
How we have to create the lookups?
Check this weblogs with some screenshots on how to achieve this:

Writing a lingo script from an Interface
Hi all,
I wonder if there is any way to write a Lingo Script (movie)
from scratch from an interface in director. In particular, I want
to create an interface where when i will input a question + an
answer and press the button next a particular line of code will be
wirtten. For example:
On answergeneration
if the text of member ("Question") = "Yes" then
do this
end
Is there any way to write the code from scratch by simply
using the next button?
Many thnaks"wgb14" <[email protected]> posted in
macromedia.director.lingo:
> on mousedown
> set customscript = new(#script)
> member(CustomScript).Scripttext = the text of member
"Script"
> end
If you never erase that member, you'll end up with multiple
unnamed script
members. If you want to use the same script member, don't
create it in code.
Just create it once during authoring, give it a name, and
refer to it by that
member name.
> the text of member script is the following:
>
> (the text of member "current_script" =
"&scriptname&"):
All lingo must be in a handler defined with the 'on' and
'end' keywords.
Setting the scriptText of a script member to a single line
just won't work
since there's no handler name to execute. You would need to
create the entire
script, including the on handlerName, the lines of code, and
the 'end' with
RETURNs in appropriate places. Then you would execute it in a
line of code as
(from this example) handlerName. Something like the following
where I've
created a handler named doIt
global scriptname -- global since I don't know where you're
getting it
on mouseUp me
scr = "on doIt" &RETURN
scr = scr &scriptname &".hap" &RETURN
scr = scr &"end"
member("dynamicScript").scriptText = scr
doIt
end
That seems like a very convoluted system, though there may be
a good reason
for it. What if a user enters a number representing a handler
that doesn't
exist? Say, 2147483647. Do you have a handler (object?) named
2147483647.hap?
[snip]
I'm really not catching the concept here. You mention the
text of member
script containing the text of member "current_script" equal
to a supposed
variable enclosed in quotes (thus making it a string, not a
variable) and
wrapped in ampersands - which you later refer to as a
variable named
scriptname without ampersands. All somehow related to the new
script
member(customscript). *I am thoroughly confused*.
What is member("current_script")?
How does the user input the value for scriptname? Do they
type a 1, 2, 77, or
whatever into a #field or #text member? Then a mouse click is
supposed to
execute a handler in dialog (is dialog a MIAW?) named as
1.hap, 2.hap, ...
according to what they typed?
Where does &scriptname& come into the picture? Is it
related any of the
above?
Are you sure you need to use self-modifying code here? Maybe
you can use
parameters instead.
-- PSEUDO CODE FOLLOWS
-- movie script in (I assume) window "dialog"
on hap (aValue)
case aValue of
1: doThis
2: doThat
3: doOther
otherWise
alert("Please provide a value")
end case
end
-- behavior script
on mouseUp me
aVal = <get the user's input value from somewhere?>
tell window("dialog") to hap(aVal)
end
Or are you incrementing a variable for each mouse click on
the "next" buton?
First is supposed to execute 1.hap, 2nd time it executes
2.hap, etc.
If so, still no need for modifying code at run-time. Assuming
a similar movie
script shown above:
property pClicks
on mouseUp me
pClicks = pClicks + 1
tell window("dialog") to hap(pClicks)
end
Let me know if I'm way off base here. If so, please explain
in more details
what you really want to happen.

How to strip text formatting from text field value ??
Hi everyone,
Have tried to get some info on this but no luck.... I've
created a simple contact form in Flash, but the URL which it's
generating contains the text formatting from the text input fields.
As a result the script that processes the mail send doesn't work.
How do I strip the text formatting out of text1, text2 and text3
before I use getURL() ??
on (release) {
url_var =
"your_name="+text1+"&your_e-mail="+text2+"&message="+text3;
getURL("contact.php?"+url_var, "_blank", "GET");
text1 = "";
text2 = "";
text3 = "";
}text1.text = "";
text2.text = "";
text3.text = "";
…that should strip the textfields. You probably also
want to add this property (text) in the getURL() -
How to get Date Format from Local Object.
Hi All,
I am new to Web Channel.
I need to know Date format From date of locale.
suppose there is a date "01/25/2010" date in date field I want to get string "mm/dd/yyyy". Actually I have to pass date format to backend when I call RFC.
Is there any way to get Date format from "Locale" object. I should get date format for local object
I get local object from "UserSessionData" object but how to get Date format from it.
I am not looking for Date value. I am looking for current local date format ("mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy or mon/dd/yyyy) whatever local date format. I could not find example which show how to get date format from "Locale" object.
Any help will be appreciated with rewards.
Regards.
Web ChannelHi,
You can get it from "User" or "Shop" business object.
Try to get User or Shop Business Object as shown below.
BusinessObjectManager bom = (BusinessObjectManager) userSessionData.getBOM(BusinessObjectManager.ISACORE_BOM);
User user = bom.getUser();
char decimalNotation = user.getDecimalPointFormat().getGroupingSeparator();
If you are seeing "1,234.00" then above code will return "."
I hope this information help you to resolve your issue.

Why? Because "the Excel format" is a binary and proprietary Microsoft file format. And writing a generator to generate Excel files will be complex, and resource expensive. In the vast majority of cases this will not be justified.
As an alternative the very basic Microsoft XML office format can be used. But note that this is not a a ISO standard (it has been shot down in flames) - and effort and resources for that would be better spend on the Open Document XML standard (which very likely will be ratified as the ISO standard instead).
Of course, you could have meant a CSV file - in which case, you need to play close attention to details. CSV is not an Excel format. A software designers and developers, our success is determined by attention to technical detail. In which case you are not paying any attention to technical detail by confusing CSV with Excel. -

JDOk, for the release 2 its quite straightfoward, in your calling form you would have something like this code:
declare
pl_id ParamList;
repid REPORT_OBJECT;
v_rep VARCHAR2(100);
v_rep_status VARCHAR2(20);
v_repsrv VARCHAR2(100):= 'yourreportserver';
v_serv varchar2(50) := 'yourservername' ;
begin
pl_id := Get_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
if not id_null(pl_id) then
Destroy_Parameter_List( pl_id );
end if;
pl_id := Create_Parameter_List('tmpdata');
Add_Parameter(pl_id,'DESTYPE' ,TEXT_PARAMETER,'Screen' );
Add_Parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM' ,TEXT_PARAMETER,'NO' );
repid := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('yourreport'); SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_COMM_MODE,SYNCHRONOUS);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE,RUNTIME);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_SERVER, v_repsrv);
set_report_object_property(repid,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE );
set_report_object_property(repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'SPREADSHEET' );
v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid,pl_id);
v_rep := substr(v_rep,length(v_repsrv)+2,10 ) ;
end;
I have plenty of reports being formated to excel with this same method so it should work for you, the only diference with my previous code is this line.
set_report_object_property(repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'SPREADSHEET' );
The rest remains untouched.
Hope it helps. -
How can I copy cell formatting from one range to another?
How can I copy cell formatting from one range to another, including text fonts, colours, borders, etc., so that, for example, I can reuse a formatted reconciliation table again in different parts of a sheet?
Hi George,
Wayne found the Spinning Beachball of Death, and you will find it too.
Numbers is not good at handling large datasets. Might I suggest that you group your data into smaller sets (each month, perhaps?) and save each group in a separate Numbers document. Numbers will not link between documents, but you could have a summary Table within each document. Then comes the "clunky" bit of copying all those summary tables into a master document where you do the final processing of the data.

How do I create a photo in jpg or other photo format from a frame in iMovie. The previous suggestions on here do not create a jpg file when you chose reveal in finder when using iMovie11 and OS X
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
Here is a video I made that steps through this...

Password Violation error while creating users from Admin interface
Guys,
The Sun Identity Manager system throws policy violation error while creating users from Sun Identity Manager Admin interface.
Current System:
1. I have configured TAM Pass-Thru authentication for End User Login Application.
2. I have an admin user 'testsjimadmin1' who has admin capabilities. testsjimadmin1 user has default SJIM password policy.
3. I have custom password policies configured for different orgainizatoions
Problem:
1. The Sun Identity Manager throws a password policy violation error when 'testsjimadmin1' tries to create an user with valid or invalid password from Sun Identity Manager Admin interface.
2. If TAM Pass-thru authentication is removed for 'End User Login Application' and Sun Identity Manager default authentication is configured for 'End User Login Application' then testsjimadmin1 was able to create user successfully without any errors.
Please let me know if any configurations are required to be made on Sun Identity Manager for TAM Pass-Thru authentication so that admin users can create users successfully from admin interface.
Appreciate your help!!!
Thanks

How to send mails in HTML format from the send mail step of workflow?
Hi,
I have a requirement where I need to send mails in the html format from the send mail step of the workflows.
But what I found out that the html tags are not renderd and as such the output is in plain text.
I know that there is an alternative of using an activity step and use my own custom code from within there,But due to certain business constraints, I need to use the send mail step only.
My SCOT settings are all right.
Please let me know how it can be done.
Thanks,
Samrat.Samrat,
It can't be done, you have to use your own activity step.
What are these constraints that refrain you from doing that?
Rgds,
Patrick
