Defining CS Work Centers - HR module is not in scope.

Hi Guys,
My client is not using HR module so Technician's personal number assignment to work center is not possible.
So what I have suggested as a work around solution is to create work center with the Technicians Name in the work center description field itself so they know by work center's description which technician is being assigned to a service order.
Say for example Work Center = ZPTech1 = Allan Miller. What do you guy's think of this solution?
Another issue is the client have one service department and this department provides different types of services. For example Inhouse repair, Onsite Service etc.
So they have teams of technicians. One team for Inhouse Repair and another team of technicians for Onsite services. However, there are cases where the technician who belongs to Inhouse repair can also sometimes perform onsite service.
So, since HR module is not in scope and technician's personnel numbers cannot be used to assign to work centers... hence my suggestion was to create work centers as technicians using their names in description field.
However, the problem comes when defining hierarchy.
Say If I create one main work center ZServ = Service Department
Then under ZPServ, if I create two team work centers as Team1 (for Inhouse Repair Team) and Team2 (Onsite Service Team). Then I assign 3 technician work centers viz., TechA, TechB and TechC to team work center Team1 and work centers TechD, TechE and TechF to Team work center Team2 using heirarchy relationship. I think so far it will be fine.
However, say TechA works both in Inhouse repairs and also in Onsite Service. Then I need to assign this technician under both team work centers Team1 and Team2 right? But as far as I know, you cannot have two superior work centers for a particular work center.
So, in this case, what is the best solution?
Instead of creating team workcenters as Team1 and Team2, shall I just create one main work center for Service Department as ZServ then create individual workcenters for each technician? without having a heirarchy structure?
Or say for example if Team1 has cost center 1000 and team2 has cost center 2000, then shall I create two workcenters for the same technician TechA with description as TechA-1000 and TechA-2000. (Then if I have two different workcenters for same technician, with his name and costcenter in the description field then i can assign each workcenter under team1 and team2.
Sorry for the lengthy message... However, I needed to explain the scenario and limitations properly in order to give you a full picture so as to get correct and best suggestions and advice.

Answer to first part of your question is: Yes, we are considering employees as vendors and configuring it under Employees (ZEMP) Vendor Account Group.
As you have suggested about Internal Order for employees, somebody else had suggested me with the same.
But I was not convinced why I should go ahead and define internal order for each employees under the Internal Order Type: Employees.
Now could you help me in understanding as to why Internal Orders for each employee, I mean could you tell me the logic behind this, so that I would be in a position to answer if someone asks me.

    Here no option to maintain 4 persons, you cumulated 4 persons as one unit and you will perform the work, based on this you will define the activity types and their costs.

    after gone through above, in general you think for eg:1, system considers indiv Capacity: 1, shift hours: 8, working hours:8, in routting you should maintain the time required for making that product by this labour group collectively. i.e is 8 hours.
    eg 2: system considers indiv Capacity: 4, Shift hours: 8, working hours:8*4= 32, in routting you should maintain the time required for making that product by this labour as 32 hours.

  • View Objects in the shared application module is not refreshing

    Hi ,
    I have view objects defined shared apps module. This view objects are used for creating lovs which won't change very frequently. I have set the AutoRefresh=true for this view objects. I do have a UI to update the underline table for these lovs. The view objects defined in the shared application module is not getting reflected even I add a new value in the database. Is there any way to refresh these lovs as soon as its added to db?

    I will explain my scenario ;
    I have a view object(ViewA) where I have defined many LOVs for different attributes. Thes LOVs are using the shared application module's view object (shared_view1,shared_view2...etc) as List DataSource. Where exactly I need to set the auto refresh property=true. Currently I have set all of my shared apps view objects's(shared_view1,shared_view2...etc) autorefresh property=true.Do I need to use the autorefresh =true in the ViewA ?
    What is the concept of autorefresh=true ? Wiill it refresh automatically the view object nexttime i am accessing the page after the db inserts ? Is there any time delay there ? if there is it something configurable ?

    HI Can someone let me know will a Infoset wuery works for Function module or not. I have 3 tables which i need to extract on, i am building a Infoset Query on 2 tables and using this in my Function Module to join on 3rd table. I have some conditions on 3rd tbale which i need to pull only those records.
    When ever i check the syntax it always gives me a message
    The type "ZUSERLOGINQRY" is unknown. ( This is my Infoset query name).
    Can any one help me on this.

  • Cost Centers for Work Centers

    Dear All,
    In our senario we have defined 30 Work Centers required.   here the Activity are only for 2 (labour, Mechaine Hr).  In KP26 we have to maintain the Standard Price.   How can we build a logic in this.  Can we create 30 Cost Centers.  Y becoz each end eavery work center have the different price for Labour.  for EX;
    WC1 - 150 Labour Cost
    WC2 - 180 Labour Cost
    WC3 - 190 Labour Cost
    Like this we have to calculate.  I hope it is required to create 30 Cost Center to assaign wot Wrok Centers.  Here we are going to KP06.  We have a standrd pirce to calculate.

    IF the business is interested in capturing using different cost centers means then you can create individual cost center and
    assign it to the work center and define the rates in KP26.So only one activity type will be there but different cost center.
    The otherway is creating multiple activity types say LABH1,LABH2....and creating different rates for the activity type ans same
    cost center combination in KP26.But here the challenge is you have to assign the activity types properly under costing tab
    against the formulas.

    Is there an authorization object for routings to set the authorization to change only defined work centers in the operation of routings?
    For PS networks there is the authorization object C_AFVG_APL. But this doesn´t work for PP routings.

    Yes, similar type of Auth. Objecct is not available in PP.
    But, check these Auth. Objects: May be useful for your scenario:

  • Function Module (ENQUEUE_ES_PROG) not working in Background

    I scheduled a job which runs every 15 mins in the the background to fetch data from an external system,depending on the data volume ,the program can sometimes run for over 15 minutes.To avoid data conflict I used a function module ENQUEUE_ES_PROG on the program to first check if the job started is still running before another job gets kicked.The problem I have is the fact that this function module does not seem to work in the background but in the looks perfect in foreground. Does anyone have a clue on how to use this FM for background job?

    Consider the following scenario:
    Your job is running for more than 15 minutes. Since it is running in the background, it will be executed by a work-process of type BACKGROUND. If there's only one BACKGROUND work process configured for your application server, then the second job will have to be waiting till the first one finishes and releases the background work process.
    But when you are executing this in the foreground, the DIALOG work-process does the processing. So you are not finding any problem.
    So, to my knowledge, there will be a problem when there's only one BACKGROUND work process. Please go to transaction SM50 and see how many of them are configured for the current application server.
    Also, in case there's only one BACKGROUND work-process, you will not have toworry that the second job will start before the first has finished. It simply can't. It has got to wait.

  • Function module is not working properly in background

    Hi  all,
    i have used one Function module 'PRICING' in user exit SAPMV45A to calculate pricing for sales order.
    i am using BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE to change the sales order pricing.
            when i run the program in foreground, all condition records for pricing is updated correctly. but it is not updating
    correctly when i run the program in background.
       Please tell me wheather 'PRICING'  or  'BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE'  function module is not working properly in background ?
       or any other reason?

    Can you provide some more information as to the type of error you are getting? Or can you check the log entries and give some more information so that it would be possible to provide a solution.

  • Systems are not visible in SM Work Centers

    Hi,
    I am facing strange problems in the Solution Manager Work Centers.
    I have connected some managed systems to the Solution Manager, their data can be displayed normally in SMSY, SLD, solution_manager, ccmsping availabilty in RZ20....
    But when I go to the workcenters, there are no systems listed (tabs like System Landscape Management, System Monitoring). What is strange
    - I can see CCMSPING statuses in the top of the screen (red/green/gray icons with numbers of systems) but I cannot see the list of systems.
    - RCA tab is correct, but this is special configuration in my opinion, so not related to my issue.
    I suppose this is somehow related to the queries but I haven't been able to find a solution.
    I checked filters, but with no success.
    I have full authorizations (sap_all, SMWORK roles).
    Version of system: SM 7.01 / SPS 28, managed systems ERP6 or NW7.3

    Hi Jansi,
    I have checked solman_setup, everything seems to be fine. I assigned to my user sap_all and all SMWORK roles, so there shouldn't be any authorization issue.
    What is strange, I can see the list of systems in some filters, when I open Favourites management popup windows or for example on the Downtime management tab. But System Management shows only availability icons with correct numbers, all other data are empty (All Systems (0) ABAP Systems (0)Java Systems (0)Favorites (0))...

  • Custom work centers are not visible in the production tenant UI after solution is deployed

    Hi Experts,
    We have deployed the solution into the production tenant. The solution is deployed successfully. But the custom business option(BAC) element which we have created is not part of proejct scoping.
    We have created a new change project in production and added the custom business option to the project.
    Under this custom business option we have fine tuning activity which is having all the custom configurable code lists.
    All these configurable code list are not visible as views. these are already assigned to WCF of one of our custom BO under asssinged objects.
    These configurable code lists are displaying like below.
    Because of this i am not able to close this fine tuning activity and i am not able merge the change project into Main project.
    Once after merging the change project into main project, I came to know the all the custom work centers will be visible. I am correct here?
    Can anybody know how to resolve this issue. Please let us know..!

    Hi Mani,
    this issue sometimes occurs. Please create an incident as soon as possible. Sometimes the BCSets / BCViews need to be regenerated in the backend. Support can correct this. Mention that you did this using the SAP Cloud Applications Studio.

  • COOIS report: not able to select operations based on work centers

    Hi All,
    When accessing the COOIS report using operation listv& selecting the std profile.I need to get the operation perfomred on specific work center.
    I enter the work center & plant code in the selection fields available in the "select at operarion level" & i get the all the work center.
    Need to get list of operation performed at the entered work center.
    The requirement is due to the reason that a order is performed in two or three production facilities & production guys needs to look at operation list for given work centers.

    Hi,
    This one of the options we had explored, but it would be better if we can get  the report by work center. The focus is to reduce the effort to get the report as there is need to get the same report for atleasr 8to 10 different group of work centers ( which are not in serial nos).
    We would then need to put the work centers in the filters & save the layout.

  • CC Bridge -- Output modules installation not working

    I am having a problem with having the Output Module work as well.
    According to the instructions I have done everything correctly. Install Adobe Output Module
    I:
    Copy the Adobe Output Module folder (not the AOM_Package_[OS] folder) into the Bridge CC Extensions folder in the appropriate location:Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CC Extensions
    Copy the AdobeOutputModule.workspace file into the Workspaces folder under the Bridge CC Extensions folder.  
    When I place the AdobeOutputModule.workspace into the Workspace folder Bridge doesn't come up at all. If the Module is in the same folder as the BridgeCC folder then there is no change to whether Bridge works or not.
    Additionally, I am not seeing "!!-$$$AdobeOutputModule.workspace" in the \Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CC\Workspaces folder. All I see are
    !!-$$$Essentials.workspace
    !!-$$$LightTable.workspace
    !!-$$$Navigator.workspace and
    !!LastMenu.workspace
    Help please. Any more ideas.

    Marioo, If you do not see the !!-$$$AdobeOutputModule.workspace file, that means output module is not installed properly on your machine.
    I would suggest you :
    To check if you have the admin rights on the machine, If not, login with the admin account and check.
    Reset Bridge workspace : In Bridge, choose Window > Workspace > Reset Workspace
    Download the appropriate 32 bit or 64 bit AOM package and make sure to de-compress or extract it. Have seen issues like these, if users don't extract the files.
    Now Copy the Adobe Output Module folder (not the AOM_Package_[OS] folder) into the Bridge CC Extensions folder in the appropriate location:Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CC Extensions
    And now copy the AdobeOutputModule.workspace file into the Workspaces folder under the Bridge CC Extensions folder.
    Launch Bridge and check if you get "The Bridge extension "AdobeOutputModule" has been added to Bridge" message.
    Also, make sure user has full read/write permissions on C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe folder.
    Let me know how it goes.

  • FP TC 120 module does not work

    I have a FP-TC-120 module connected to a FP-1600 Ethernet module. But the software FieldPoint Explorer seems not to recognize it. It recognizes my FP-1600 module, and a FP-AI-110 module also connected. The FP-TC-120 power LED keeps flashing frequently, and the Ready LED does not light. What can be happening? I have tried everything, but it does not work at all.

    Actually, technically, the FP-TC-120 module does not have a STATUS LED. Network modules have STATUS LED's that will flash a number of times, pause, and flash again but I/O modules do not. All I/O modules have Power and Ready LED's and some I/O modules have additional LED's.
    The FP-TC-120 has an LED on each channel to indicated Open Thermocouple detection. In an I/O module, a Power LED that is failing to turn on wil typically signify that one or more components in the system is damaged. The most typical example would be bent pins between the terminal bases or between the I/O module and the terminal base. Alternatively, some forms of damage to the I/O module could also conceivably cause this sort of failure mode. In any case, once the faulty component
    is isolated (terminal base or module), it will probably need to be sent to National Instruments for repair.
