Delays in insert

My statpack report say:

My question:
This Insert delay 61 sec?
Why?
Thanks
Greetings
Juan

The data is accumulated.
So it took 61 secs to insert 181 records.
Whether that is slow? Who can tell?
You didn't post a version. Why?
You didn't post a platform. Why?
You didn't post data about file statistics. Why?
You didn't post the report properly formatted. Why?

  • Delay IO

I'm trying to setup a program to test step response
first I begin logging, then after a set delay time I send out a digital output on port 1 and hold that on until logging stops.
I'm having trouble sequencing the analog input with the digital output. Right now my logging finishes running, then triggers the digital output. I've had to configure them in different tasks due to them being different data types, so how can I run the read and write blocks simultaneously?

     Hi Amaes,
To control the execution flow of the analog input and digital output you could use data flow, sequence structures, local variables, etc.
In this example I would use data flow. I've attached a screenshot of how to do this with DAQmx and Labview 8.2.
The Analog Input task is started first. After the Task is started then the error out wire branches to the Digital Output task. A delay is inserted before the DO task starts.
I hope this works for you! Best regards,

  • Ffplay doesn't play video after using chromium

Primarily my VLC stops playing movies after a while of using PC (and I think it stops working after first youtube video in chrome... I have chromium with gtalk and google talk plugin, stackoverflow.com and youtube opened... and the only one that seems to me to be related to video is youtube).
This is what I get trying to use ffplay:

I think (I'm not sure) that first youtube video stops vlc/ffplay from working properly.

  • How to use same transaction when calling CMP entity beans and  DAO (JDBC)

We are currently using Weblogic 8.1 SP2 with an Oracle 10g database (using XA thin and non-XA drivers).
We have a session bean that invokes an entity bean and a DAO (data access object pattern) in order to add data in 2 separate tables (account and history). Rows are added to the first (account) table using a CMP Entity bean while inserts are done in the 2nd (history) table using a DAO. Here is some pseudo code:
    addHistorySessionBean (trans-attribute="Required")
    begin
    Step #1 - call addAccountEntityBean (trans- attribute="Required")
Step #2 - call addHistoryDAO (get datasource, connection)
    end
The 2nd table (history) has a foreign key constraint to ensure that the corresponding key exists in the first (account) table. Unfortunately, DAO inserts on the 2nd (history) table fail with a foreign key constraint violation (INTEGRITY CONSTRAINT VIOLATION - PARENT KEY NOT FOUND!) since they cannot see the row added to the 1st (account) table in step #1 by the CMP entity bean.
How does one ensure that all this is done in a single transaction ? It appears that the app server creates two seperate transactions (one for the session bean facade and the entity bean and a 2nd transaction (when we retrieve a connection using the same data source JNDI name) for the DAO.
A post on server side suggested using a "<resource-ref>" in the session bean to tie the two potentially separate transactions together, but that does not work for us. However, I am not sure if we are doing that correctly. After we define the resource ref in the session facade bean, do we use the resource ref "name" attribute to lookup the datasource or do we still lookup the datasource by JNDI name ? Do we need to define the resource-ref tag in the entity bean also ?
Does Weblogic allow using a single transaction for this type of a scenario ? How does one specify within Weblogic that the same transaction should be utilized by the entity bean and any subsequent DAOs?
People have also suggested that we defer constraint checking until the transaction(s) are committed but that sounds like a work acount without addressing this issue. Would postponing the constraint checking in Oracle cause any additional overhead ?
Any suggestions with specific examples or documentation on how to address this issue will be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, this does not work since it appears that there are 2 separate transactions going on here. One, the original one initiated by the session bean and used by the entity bean and the other initiated by the DAO. Any other ideas appreciated.

    Hi Peter,
You are right. Child is being inserted even before parent got inserted (actually "committed") into the DB.we would need to look at your code where are you doing all these creates (may be ejbCreate). Most probably ur error should get fixed by changing the transactional attributes in the DD files. Try using <delay-database-inserts-until> element.
    More details available at:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/faq/ejb.html#257426
If it doesn't help, open up a case with BEA Support.
    Hope it helps!

  • Exteme slow commits

    Hi,
I am experiencing problems recently with Oracle XE running on server 2003. In my code (java) auto commit is set to false and I do explicit commit in the code. However, in last couple of days, I started noticing big delay between insert and actual insert. What I mean by that is that I can see in my code that insert was successful (no exception), but when I go and look into db (oracle web interface or sqldeveloper), I do not see inserts for next 20-30 min! If I change my code to do auto commit, I can see all (usually 3 inserts to 3 different tables) right away. However, I need to use explicit commit. Same thing is happening (occasionally) when doing plain insert into using sqldeveloper client.
Did anybody ever experienced something like that?
    Thanks.

How is the middle tier fetching data from the database? Did you write your own classes? Are you using an object-relational persistance API (i.e. Hibernate)? Or something else?
Does the middle tier maintain any sort of cache?
Data is immediately visible to all sessions (in the default read committed transaction isolation level) as soon as the commit operation returns. If you have done an explicit commit and that commit operation has returned successfully, the data is now visible to other sessions. If other sessions are not seeing the data, that would imply that there is some sort of cache that is not getting invalidated (i.e. a browser cache, a middle tier cache, a web server cache, etc.) or that your application is not using the read committed transaction isolation level. Did you explicitly ask for serializable transactions?

Convert your HTML to XHTML and use that, if you can't figure out how to get your chosen HTML parser to parse from a string. Or better, go back to the documentation for the HTML parser you chose and look again.

  • Different measurement times with daqmx

Hello I am using the DAQmx software with the NI WLS/ENET-9000. I am currently using Labview to monitro voltage levels and was wondering if there was some way to be able to run tests on specific channels at different times without stopping the entire program. Is there any way to time delay or insert a test while the program is running? Do I have to run multiple VI's? or is this a limitation of the WLS?
    Thanks!
    Alvin

    Hi Alvin,
I don't believe there is any way to make a DAQ Assistant run two or more different tasks.  Each DAQ Assistant initializes, starts, and finishes only one Task, and that Task can include multiple channels.  If you'd like to handle other i/o channels using other Tasks, that will require you to use more than one DAQ Assistant.
The DAQ Assistant placed in a While Loop, for instance, will do this entire process every single time the loop executes:
    1. Create the Task in memory
    2. Configure the Task as you've set it up
    3. Commit the Task to hardware
    4. Starts the Task
    5. Reads from or writes to the Task            <----------------
    6. Finishes the Task by stopping it or clearing it
    7. Closes out the Task reference, (which will be created again in step 1 when the DAQ Assistant is called in the loop the next time)
Since this process only applies to one Task, and it cannot be manipulated on a step-by-step basis.  Doing this instead using the DAQmx driver VIs (in the link I provided earlier) DOES allow you to manipulate these individual processes.  The DAQ Assistant is a convenient tool for getting started, but it isn't recommended for actually deploying a refined application.
Using some of the examples in the Learn 10 Functions DevZone article explains how you can use the DAQmx driver VIs efficiently. In most cases, if you are running a loop, you can condense the functions that execute in a loop down to just one function--step #5 of the list I wrote out above (look for where I drew the arrow).  This speeds up your process and makes it MUCH more efficient.  In addition, because it is more efficient, you can run multiple Tasks through your loops without taking hardly any hit on speed or memory usage.
Take a look at that DevZone and see if it helps with programming your application further.  Let me know how it works for you,
    Regards,
    Andrew

  • Is addBatch/executeBatch thread safe

    Hi,
I want to make a prepared statement that is shared between two threads.
one thread will perform the addBatch and the other thread will periodically executeBatch.
will this work safely or it will cause problems with concurrency?

I tried to use queuing using a Vector but in time the
queue gets bigger, and eventually gives out of
memory, also causes delay on insertion of data.Batch will suffer from all the same problems as well as some others. Where do you think the data in the batch is stored prior to transmission?
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think you're competent to do this. Use a single threaded approach.
I already tried to use the approach I am asking about
in the first post, it works fine without delay or
memory issuesYou merely implemented the vector approach incorrectly. Or possibly you weren't correctly batching your transmissions.
, But I am still not sure if a
concurrency issue will rise in the future. It will.
so are they thread safe or not?Nothing to do with JDBC is threadsafe except for acquisition of a connection. It's your responsibility to ensure thread safety, and I don't believe you're likely to get this right if you weren't aware of that in the first place.
It sounds like an insult, I know, but it's not something anyone is born knowing.

  • Offset voltage on line input

    Computer: p6140f Prod# NP192AA
Problem: I am seeing an offset voltage on the line input of about 200 mV when recording. I see it using Audacity, Goldwave, Adobe Soundbooth CS5 or the Windows recorder. OS is Windows 7 Ultimate. This offset reduces the dynamic range available. Goldwave can remove it after the fact. The computer was purchased with Win ME installed and did not exhibit the problem then. After a hard drive crash, a new C: drive was loaded with Win 7 Ultimate (32 bit) and the offset showed up. I assume this is a driver or OS problem. I have not found an updated sound card driver for this machine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you might not have enough interchannel delay so the second channel doesn't have time to settle. The AI Config.vi routine has an input for specifying the amount of delay to insert between reading channels on a scan. The default value is a -1 which tells LV to figure it out on its own--sometimes this value is too short.
To see what LV is selecting, there's a subVI inside AI config called AI Clock Config that outputs the value LV selected. Probing that point while your code is running will give you a starting place for adjusting the interchannel delay.

  • How to insert delay without using loops, and how can I use variable to store data in labview

    Hi all,
I am new to Labview and I realized that quite often I am in condition to require a delay beween two functions or elements.. how can we insert a delay in such cases?
I know how to use delays in a loop. but don't know how to inser some time delay between two elements.
I have one more question, I know its a bad practice to post 2 questions in 1 thread.
How can I use a temporary variable to store data, So far I am storing it in an indicator by making it invisible in front panel and making local variable of that indicator, is it the right way to do it ?
    Thanks in advance.

Generally, LV doesn't have variables in the same sense that most languages do. You can use indicators to perform the same function as variables, but as Adnan pointed out, you run the risk of having race condition and it creates data copies, which is a problem if you have a lot of data. In most cases, you should use wires to perform the function of variables, which is to store data and make it available to the different functions in your code. Instead of thinking about variables, you need to think about data (something like "I have the data coming out of this function. Where does it need to go?").

  • Everything starts to be in delay (falter) if I insert a button on the slide

Could anyone help me out please with this problem I am facing with:  In case my slides includes voice effects/recorded speech and I insert for example 3 buttons after 20 sec for the user to choose the correct answer, everything starts to be in delay and falters. Images, text captions, smart shapes and all the effects are affected. I spent the whole last week to find alternatives, but got nothing. It works perfectly without any interactivity; in that case everything runs smoothly.
This all appears only in case of HTML5; in case of SWF everything is fine.
To sum up: if I insert something in HTML5, which pause the play, from that moment all effects starts to be in delay. Both version 6.1 and 7 is affected with this problem

    Hi,

  • Insert Delayed?

I had a thought this afternoon while I was considering performance issues with ADDT as to whether or not MySQL delayed inserts are supported. does anybody know yay or nay before I investigate further?
I don't think it would be that hard to add as a feature if not. A new method could be added to the tNG_insert transaction object and accessed like....
    $ins_dbTable->setInsertMethod("delayed");
    this would default to "standard"
The reason i'm after a delayed insert is for things like a stats counter when users view products. inserting a stats row isn't mission critical so it doesn't have to be transactionally safe and anything to speed up views has to be a good thing.
    Feature suggestion for the team?

    Hi Gunter,
That is not the functionality I am looking for. Using the sleep() function in a before trigger will slow down the execution.
The purpose of INSERT DELAYED is to fire off an INSERT statement to MySQL blindly without acknowledgement that it has actually taken place. It is immediately queued up to be inserted when the db table becomes free, thus not delaying the scripts execution.

  • Can i insert delay and export to audio only affected wave data?

    Let me explain with example,
2 notes of snare in the piano roll. I insert echo delay and set what ever i want. I want to export audio only the reflection of this delay effect, not the 2 notes of snare.
    Possible?

    Happy to help!

  • Fgen : Synchronisation + Delay insertion

    Hello everybody !
I have a PXI system in which I have a 5422 FGen allowing me to generate a "10 periods sinusoidal burst".
    The 5422 FGen also has the following connections : ch0 ; Clk in ; PFI 0 ; PFI 1
I would like to insert a "timing reference" signal (in PFI0 e.g.) and generate my burst "x" ms later. Is there a function directly related to the fgen allowing to perform such a thing (synchro + delay) ? Do I have to use DAQmx possibilities (I must admit I am a little bit lost with the DAQmx functions ...).
Here is the part of my code  where I assume I could insert the function I am looking for.
Can anyone help me ? Thank you in advance !

    Hi Collin !
Please find my answers in this post in green.
Is there any way to connect the output to that oscilloscope? To verify with the same system if it gives the same output?
Since the "NI TClk Initiate.vi" provides from using the "scope read.vi", this is quite tricky. I am forced to use the "scope fetch.vi" in order to collect data and this provides me only one frozen graph while the vi is running. However, it is already possible to see that the burst is not generated with a constant time delay from the original pulse, anyway.
Also, if you only send the burst, so with no trigger and no original pulse, what is being displayed in labview?
The expected burst, without any problem. May I add 2 things :
    1) The graph contained in the "actual" video is not in LabVIEW (but in Tomoview, the software used to control the DUT and to display the data).
    2) The burst observed in the video is rectified.
To me it seems that the burst is not equal to the frequency of the original pulse, and thus generating time difference for display. But on the expected video it is. What do you think of this?
Indeed, that's the problem. On the "expected" video, we used a tektronix generator synchronized via its "trigger channel" and that was it ! With NI material, triggering just seems to start the signal generation but it doesn't necessarily implies that the signal generated will be synchronized with the triggering signal, just like if a kind of "repetition frequency" should be tuned as well. If yes, how can we do this ?
I think we should start to verify exactly what is being output on both systems and compare that. Also try to output only one and when those are correct lets try to synchronize them. But first verify without triggers and sync. if they output correctly.
According to the answers above, I think the outputs are understood correctly and I would rather say there is a poor management of "triggering and synchronization" from my side ...
    What do you think ?
    Kind regards,
    Geoffrey
