Delete a Custom Node from IMG

Dear All,
I have a custom table (Z or Y table) for which, I have also created the Table Maintainence Generator(TMG).
For this custom table, I also added an entry in IMG.
For some reason, now I want to delete this table. In a step-wise process, I deleted all the other objects which were using this table first. Then I deleted the entry from IMG. Then I am trying to delete this TMG for the table and then as the last step, I will delete my table.
My Problem is, whenever I try to delete this TMG, it gives me an error, saying it is still being used somewhere in IMG. Where as, I can literally find no entry for this table anymore in my IMG.
Any Idea. Is it another great Bug from SAP. I have re-generated the Object Index for the whole Packet many a times in SE80. I have also clicked the Buffer button in S_IMG_EXTENSION transaction many times. What to do?

Hi Ankit,
An entry might be still existing in TADIR for that IMG customizing I guess.
You can not delete the TMG as long as that entry exists, try to look for some notes around that.

A problem arises that here it find two was attributes.And it delete the last was attribute,not the requested node.

Deleting AET custom field from the SAP tableu2019s level.

Hi experts,
I am deleting few un-used custom fields in AET. I am able to see delete symbol as status in AET. Although deleted custom fields are present in lot of structure and tables (eg: CRMD_ORDERADM_H) in SAP GUI tables. I want to delete the custom field from SAP GUI tables and structures.
I tried to delete custom field from the SAP GUI tableu2019s level. But it is not allowing.
Please get me some clue on deleting custom field from the SAP GUI tableu2019s level.

Hi,
The deletion of custom field in AET happens in two steps:
1. You select a custom field that you want to delete, than you press on the delete icon in the Custom Field Assignment Block.
Doing this, you mark the selected custom field to be deleted.
2. You press on "Save and Generate" button. The "Save" will persist the deletion mark of the custom field. It means the custom field is marked to be deleted in the database. The "Generate" will process all the deletion of objects which are needed to delete the custom field, for example: Domain, Data Element, Append, etc.
If the "Generate" does not happen due any reason, the deletion mark is already persisted in DB. It means, later on if you go back to AET, you will see that the custom field is marked to be deleted, but it is not yet deleted.
If you do not press "Save and Generate" button at all, it means, you do not persist the deletion mark in DB. Later on if you go back to AET, you won't see that the custom field marked to be deleted.
Note: Please make sure, "Generation" is only applied for field that is flagged to be generated. The "Generate" flag column is by default hidden. You can use personlization to show the column.

You can delete a customer from database only if:
- it runs archiving tools (for customer): here all customer setted to be deleted will be delete from database really;
- it runs report SAPF019 (it's better to set the checkbox "Delete per deletion flag only"), I've never run it.

Deleting the custom package from system

Hello All,
I have created a custom package and added few custom programs.
I have deleted the custom program first, they were deleted successfully.
At last I try to delete the custom package, I am getting a message as "The package still contains subobjects".
But actual all the objects related to package were deleted.
Please let me know how to delete the custom package completely from the system?

or I think you may remove the package (and its lock) from the transport request, delete the object directory entry of the package (SM30 TADIR), then you can delete the package. Or vice versa (I don't remember exactly).

The difference being in your code and above code is you are removeing fileds which is eventually is deleting site column but a site column cannot be deleted if is alreday being used. So you need to deled the FieldLink in content type taht way column is removed
from content type but not from site column.
Now if you want to delete site column you can use your code to deleted Field.

Custom nodes are deleted for IMG after upgrade

Gurus,
We are in processes of upgrading form ECC5 to ECCC6.
In ECC5 we have custom node in IMG , which were created using SIMGH.
After the upgrade all the custom nodes are deleted , is there a way to retrieve the custom node or is there a way custom node are not touched during upgrade .

You have used transaction SIMGH for modifying the SAP reference IMG in the old release. Those modifications gets lost
while upgrading your system. Right?
Even these custom node disappeared from IMG structure, but the customerspecific IMG structures or IMG-activities should be
still available within the upgraded system. That means, you only need to reassign your IMG structures or IMG-activities with transaction S_IMG_EXTENSION .
Those enhancements do not get lost with the next upgrade in future.

How can we delete the concurrent node entry from the FND_NODES table without running Autoconfig.
Currently we are having 3 nodes RAC and we are deciding to remove one node from the RAC and all 3 nodes are registered as concurrent node with application but concurrent manager is running only on one node.
Lot of the custom configuration we did it at application web tire level. If we run the Autoconfig at that time we need to redo those changes again that we are trying to avoid.

we are trying to avoid to run FND_CLONE.setup_clean because it will delete all the nodes entries from the FND_NODES.If those entries are invalid then they should be deleted.
Running AutoConfig after purging the table will populate it with the correct entries.
In order to populate the nodes entries again we need to run autoconfig and it will change the server id in fnd_nodes and then we need to redo the ADI client configuration on users PC and redo all the changes that we made in jserv and webserver.For ADI Clients, you should use the correct server ids which will be populated in the table for you once you run AutoConfig.
For jserv configuration, you can refer to (Customizing an AutoConfig Environment [ID 270519.1]) to make the preserve all your custom setup/configuration after running AutoConfig.
If there any custom script to delete only one node from the fnd_node so that we don't need to run autoconfig after that, then I really appreciate.No.

Mass deletion of customer accounts

Can I completely delete the customer records from the system using some standard tcode or program

I have tested on to my test Client.
I created one "new customer" and then run the profram "SAPF047" in SE38.
Then, go to t. code: OBR2
key-in that "newly customer id" and check box: Delete Customer, under tab: Deletion quantity selection.
Under tab: Deletion depth, check box: only general master data, and keyed-in charts of accounts.
Under tab: Program control, selected Customer detail log (no oher option).
But, it was on to my Test-Client and there were no records for customer. I can't suggest from my front, as your's is Production-Client, and there might be open records for your customer.

OIM 11gR2 : Deletion of Custom UDFs

Hello Experts,
I want to delete some custom UDFs from my User Form.
1. From the front end, i am able to do the same by exporting the sandbox and then deleting the UDFs from the user xml files and then again importing the sandbox.
*2. How may i delete the UDFs from the backend. Is there some utility provided by OIM 11gR2 for the same ? Kindly help *

currently there is no such utility available in r2 which will delete UDF from backend.
You have to do the workaround. what you have done is right but something more to do if you have attached udf on user form.
1. export user.xml(metadata) using deployment manager
2. export sandbox
3. remove entries from user.xml
4. goto sandbox exported files and locate UserVo.xml,UserEo.xml,UserVo.xml.xml, UserEO.xml.xml...etc and remove entries from these file for the udf attribute and save it.
5. import user.xml using deployment manager
6. import sandbox and activate same
above steps will do your job.

Help needed in deleting nodes from RAC database

Our DB is 10g RAC database and the servers are Window 2003 server. Initially the database was configured to have 4 nodes. For some reason we stopped the instances in the first two nodes and the current database is running on node3 and node4. I queried the v$thread view and it shows 3 records. Thread 2 is closed and disabled. Thread 3 is open and public and thread 4 is open and private. Now we need to disconnect nodes 1 and 2 from RAC db and cluster ware (We use Oracle cluster ware) and plan to use those two servers for other purposes. Although I read through the Oracle doc regarding deleting node from RAC “11 Adding and Deleting Nodes and Instances on Windows-Based Systems” and wrote down the steps we need to take but I am still not comfortable in doing it since it is production env and we don’t have any dev env to practice those steps. So I would like to borrow your experiences and your lessons learned while you were doing those. Please share your thoughts and insights with us.

what's your full version? I can warn about specific issues in 10.1.0.3 and 10.2.0.1 - for example, in some cases (depending on how the listener was configured), it will be impossible to delete the listener for the deleted node. Known bug.
To avoid many many known bugs, you may want to upgrade to at least 10.2.0.2 before removing a node (from my experience, this is the first stable RAC version).
In any case, deleting a node is a rather delicate process. I really really recommend practicing. Take any pc/laptop, install VMWARE, define two virtual machines, install RAC and remove one node. It will take you an extra day or two, and could save your production.
