Delete one of two Identical record

hi every body,
I have many identical records in a table i want to delete only the dublicate records, if i use delete ... where... it will delete all
identical records (the original and the copy of it), any help?

hi friend,
You can also use this command to delete
duplicate rows.
delete from abc
where rowid not in (select max(rowid) from abc group by field1,field2);
where field1 and field2 which you think same value like empno,ename.
you can use min function in place of max according to your requirement like
if you want to preserve first entered row use min function.
if you want to preserve last entered row use max function.
