Deleting a Warehouse

I am sure this happens a lot and I would like to know if there's a resolution to this.
we've accidentally added an * warehouse (when attempting to Find with *, someone just Added that warehouse). The bad news - new warehouses are automatically assigned to all items in our system which means we have every single item in SAP automatically assigned to this new asterisk warehouse.
An obvious question is how to delete that warehouse without having to go through a painstaking process of unassigning every item from that warehouse one by one?
Please tell me there's an easier way
thanks
Simon

Hi Expert,
I read this forum discussion and having some comment and appreciate if anyone can post to SAP support to get it correct:
Let me explain my problem:
1) I created a warehouse and set the general settings on Items portion to "ADD WAREHOUSES TO NEW ITEMS ADDED".
2) I created more than 2 thousand over items and therefore there are 2 thousand over * #n warehouse records in AITW (account item warehouse)
3) However, when I realized that some warehouse accounting setup wrongly, by deleting the warehouse, the system will not remove data from AITW, SO I need to go ITEM MASTER  to delete item account setting one by one?
4) Actually, there is a shortcut way which I think it works:
DELETE FROM AITW WHERE WAREHOUSE = XX
which I need to remove the warehouse item account table and remove warehouse and re-setup the same warehouse code with different a/c settings.
From here, I would appreciate if someone can post to SAP SUPPORT to do the patches to allow the system to perform "when warehouse is being deleted, the AITW records should be automatically remove".
thank you and regards,
Joan.

    Hi,

    Symptom
How to delete a Warehouse from Business One
    Cause
    Consulting
    Solution
In Business one it is possible only to delete a warehouse that has no transactions or items linked to it.
In order to to delete a warehouse that has no items in it, and no trasactions posted to it please do the following.
    1. Go to Administration/Definitions/Stock Management/Define Warehouses.
    2. Find the Warehouse you wish to delete.
    3. From Menu bar select Data/Remove.
    4. The warehouse has now been removed from the system.
If you have a warehouse with no transactions, but has items, you must first empty the items from the warehouse.
    1. Select each item master data where the warehouse is listed.
    2. Select the warehouse tab.
    3. Delete the warehouse from the menu bar using Data/Remove.
Note: When you create warehouses, verify what is set up under:
Administration -> System Initialization -> General Settings -> Items.
If the box (Add Warehouse to new items automatically) is ticked you must go through the previous steps and delete the Warehouse from all items. If it is not ticked, you can delete any newly created Warehouse as they will not be linked to any Item automatically.

  • Delete the warehouse management view and archive before deleting.

    Hi All,
I have requirement like this where I need to delete the warehouse management view from about 40k records
also need to archive the materials in order for the views to truly be deleted, instead of just marked for deletion.
Could you please help me in proceeding with this.
    Thanks,
    Reddy

    Hi,
in this way which I described you will delete the warehouse managment view for the material ( after that your material will no longer exist for that warehouse management organization data, but the other organization data for the material will exist). It's depend on where you are going to set the deletion flag for the material in MM06 before Archiving/Deletion with MM71

  • Warehouse Deletion Problem

I have created a New Warehouse in Admin/Setup/Stock Management/Warehouses. Because I wanted to search first for existing Warehouses, I put * in the Warehouse Code Field and I pressed return. However, because the programme was in ADD mode, instead of SEARCH mode, I created a whole new warehouse in error with Warehouse Code = *
Now, I would like to delete this warehouse but it does not allow me to do so because SAP has created an a new Item Record in table OITW.
I wonder if anyone knows how to reverse this error?
I made similar errors in the past were I meant to search for something and I created a record called * instead, but I was able to Delete such records. On this occasion I am stuck....
    Thanks
    Robert

I know how to do this now
    Thanks

  • How to delete Warehouses

    Hi,
I want to delete the warehouses from the production database not a single entry has been done in that entry but this is not allowing me to delete the warehouse. Can u guys tell me how to delete warehouse. Waiting for ur earliest reply.

Do you have Items in the Database if so...adding the warehouse adds an entry in OITW for each item.
This will depend on the settings in
Admin > System Init > General Settings > Inventory Tab...Auto Add All Warehouses to New Items if checked
You would first need to delete all the entries for each Item for that warehouse
Item Master > Inventory Data Tab...Remove the Warehouse row
    Then Remove the Warehouse itself

  • Storage unit activation for warehouse number

    Hi,
    User is facing two problems.
1.They could not go directly to TO screen after doing any warehouse management transactions.
2.In TO user wants to enter storage units options but could not find any list.
I could find that warehouse no which is assigned that storage location is not actived for storage unit management.
Can I delete this warehouse no. and copy new warehouse number which is active in storage unit management.
There are some TO already created for this warehouse no.How should I proceed in this issue.
Can we reverse TR and TO.
    Please give some solutions
    Thanks

Config:  LE \ WM \ Master data \ define control parameters
    Tick box bottom left.
Before creating a whole new WHS, in your Sandbox system try completing or cancelling every outstanding task related to the Warehouse e.g. TRs, PCNs, TOs etc. and then activate SUM as above and for applicable Storage Types (NOT interim ones).  It might save you quite a bit of effort.
If it works (I've never tried it but don't see why it wouldn't) in Sandbox then also do in Development and Pre-Production, then do the same in Production over a weekend and get the Warehouse guys to complete all operations, transport settings across and you're done.  Alternatively you can cancel outstanding operations but you then need to note and re-create.

  • Warehouse items question

    Warehouse Item Records question
When creating a New Warehouse then automatically New Item records are also created. The Item Records created for the New Warehouse are empty Item records based on the Original warehouse initially created when we started the system. I wonder if these New Item Master records(empty) created are Mandatory or is it an option in the Initialisation or Setup. In other words, can I create a New Warehouse WITHOUT any associated Item Master Records, just an emty warehouse where I can add my own stock Items?
Also, does anybody know how to Delete these new Blank Master Stock Items created in this new Warehouse.
The main reason I want to Delete these Master Items is to enable me to Delete the Whole new warehouse I have created by mistake! At present I cannot Delete the warehouse because of all these Master items that SAP creates by default.
Thanks for your help for this funny problem - yes it is funny because I only pressed * to search for the Codes of my existing warehouses, but I was in the ADD mode, so it crreated a new warehouse called * and a lot empty Master Item records.
    I hope this makes sense
    Robert

Yes, SAP B1 has a feature where, when the check box to 'Auto Add All Warehouses to New Items' under 'General Settings' --> Inventory Tab.
However, the feature works a little differently then what you've described. What it does is that it actually creates the new warehouse automatically for any newly created inventory item. This feature can come in handy when you have say, 6 warehouses setup within SAP B1 and you've just created a new inventory item. You wont have to manually add all 6 warehouses to the new inventory item.
There is somewhat of an issue with the Warehouse form, because it opens in the "Add" mode by default, and you're not the first user to accidently hit ' * ' and create a new warehouse with the * name. When this happens, SAP B1 will auto create the * warehouse to all current inventory items.
At this point in time, there is no method to batch remove the * warehouse except to do it manually by hand.

  • Import Itens - DTW - Warehouse Remove

How can i remove a warehouse that dont belong an item on DTW import, using template <oItems>?Any idea or have i to do a manual remove ?
    ps:I can't to use <Locked> field

    Marcio,
I don't think thats possible through DTW.  You could delete a Warehouse by going to Item Master ...Inventory Tab, highlight the warehouse... row right mouse click and delete row (CTRL+K)
In Administration > System Initialization > General Settings if you have checked
<b>Auto Add All Warehouses to New Items</b> Each time you create a new item SAP will automatically add it to all warehouses or when you add a new warehouse SAP will add it to existing items.
If you Uncheck this, SAP does not add the Items to any warehouse and like wise when you add a warehouse.

  • Define Warhouse number or Copy standard warehouse number?

    Hi
I am in situation where we are in a client replication project ( two different clients move in to one already existing client ).
Client 1 - has no WM settings ( 3 different plants for different company codes ) - US
    Client 2 - has WM settings ( plant 221 for  company code 221 ) - US
I am reconfiguring the whole setup in the Client 1 for plant 221 for WM settings.
I am planning to define  the warehouse number and assigning the plant/storage location (221/009) for the same.
If i copy from standard warehouse number 001 ( Germany ) it will copy the region.
I dont see any option of removing region Germany for my ware house if i do so...
I know this is very trivial question but i donot want to proceed with out procedure.....
( Usually in case of Plant copy in MM we remove all standard settings of DE for the created one, but in case of ware house no i do not see any thing )
Since 001 Central warehouse is not connected to any plant i can copy that so that all tables get copied but how to remove the region?
    Please suggest
    Regards

    Hi Anna Durai
It works and it removes the Region Code. Thanks for your suggestion on this...
I have one more  question ,
Do you copy 001Central warehouse  or we can define our own ware house number?
We have two options in Enterprise structure - LE-Define, copy, delete, check warehouse number
    Define warehouse number
    Copy/delete/check warehouse number
Is the Region code required only hazardous materials or it has any impact on structure ....
As my understanding the Central Warehouse 001 is not assigned to any plant.

  • Warehouse accidentally added

A lot of customers accidentally add a warehouse - either they think they are in search mode and enter * - warehouse called * is created OR they add a warehouse and enter the code incorrectly e.g...enter # before the code. Afterwards, the warehouse code cannot be editted or deleted.
When this happens, they have to manually delete the warehouse from each item master before SAP allows them to delete the warehouse(Admin > General settings > Inventory> auto add new warehouse to items is selected). This is a lot of work but unfortunately SAP currently does not allow us to delete the warehouse by any other method.
    My questions are:
    1. Does SAP plan to restrict users from entering a warehouse * ?
    2. Are there any warehouse code format settings in SAP B1 which would put some rules in place to prevent this from happening?  For example, my customer only wants numeric warehouse codes. Can i restrict it so that only numeric whse codes can be entered i.e... symbol # or a letter as part of the warehouse code is not allowed.

DI Commander a tool that one of the Business One Partner companies created which actually using the DI-API to perform these functions.
Since it is posted on SAP Blog's I don't see a reason why this is not permitted for use.
Using Transaction Notification stored procedure is perfectly valid.  But I would recommend taking away the authorization for creating WH from the user who need not have it.
Creating WH's I suppose is not going to happen every day and so this should be given to someone whom you trust better
