Deleting by ROWID, Possible?

Can you delete a record via xsu using the assigned rowid of a table. Example...
xmldata = "<ROW><ROWSET>"+
"<ROWID>BR549</ROWID>"+
"</ROWSET><ROW>";
String[] keyNames = {"ROWID"};
sav.setKeyColumnList(keyNames);
sav.deleteXML(xmldata);
I tried this and I got an error saying the column does not exist, but you would think there is a way to delete a record using the rowid since you can do that with a simple sql call.

ROWID is a pseudo-column and not an actual data column. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can only use data columns in setKeyColumnList().
In the documentation, it says that it is optional to use setKeyColumnList() for deletes. Try deleting without calling it.

OK, Today I went ahead & booted & tried again & it worked this time.
Not sure why it didn't yesterday. Maybe the servers were just overloaded? Several others reported similar.
Also yesterday when I ran Speedtest it showd download at about 25 mbps, This morning just before I re-started the download it was showing just above 30 mbps. So maybe the internet was less busy? Or at least the parts between me & the test server.
& so far it is working ok.

SAP-PM: Deletion of objects possible without archiving?

Hi all!
My question concerns the objects in SAP_PM, in particular the objects represented by the ArchivingObjects PM_EQUI, PM_IFLOT, PM_IMRG, PM_QMEL, SM_QMEL, PM_ORDER, PM_PLAN, PM_MPLAN and PM_NET.
I found that it is possible to delete "IA Task Lists" via the transaction IA25 without having to archive them first.
Is this possible for other objects as well, or do we have to archive them first?

I think it should be I0811 or I1101.
You can manually archive each product at a time in COMMPR01 - Product status tab.

Deleting confirmation not possible for particular PO item.

Dear experts,
we are on an SRM 5.0 server 550 with a classic scenario.
We are experiencing some problems when deleting confirmations on 1 certain process.
case:
- puchase order created with 1 item (10 pieces)
- confirmation was created for 5 pieces.
- invoice was created for these 5 pieces.
- confirmation created for the following 5 pieces
- trying to delete the confirmation but not possible because the delete button is greyed out
Does anybody has an idea why we cannot delete such a confirmation? There is an invoice on the PO item, but only on the first 5 pieces, not on the last 5...

Check the followwing points:
-Tx_RZ20. Check under menu Confirmations for Backend errors.
-Check Idocs exchanged. Check Outbound IDOCS(Type MBGMCR) in SRM an Inboudn Idocs in the backend.
-Check GR in Tx BBP_PD. Search using Object Type: BUS2203 and GR number. Search for alerts in the GR.
There is a recurrent root cause for the "GR error in process": Posting Date locked". You could try to change posting date to the currente date in th GR and confirm again.

Cube Request Deletion - Other loads possible or LOCK problems

Hi Folks,
can somebody tell me if there could be a lock situation if I have in one process chain the cube request deletion step running (cleaning out some request) and at the same time another load is running into the cube? We would not drop/re-create the index in load situation so no lock by the index operation.
Any experience?
From what I have seen there shouldn'T be a problem as the request deletion will be "scheduled" and simply execute if lock is release (if there is any) and the deletion it self places only a quick lock to determine the request ID but doesn't much impact other loads.
Is this all correct? Or any other views?

Deleting music not possible

I have just reset my ipod nano 3rd generation. when starting up again a number of songs randomly chosen y itunes is added. So far so good.
Now I want to add the music I want - and remove some of the music itunes has added.
However this is not possible.
When going to the music folder under the device it is not in black letters as normal - but greyish and not possible to mark anything.
I can make playlists and ad and delete as normal
The main music folder is normal as well.

It sounds like you want to manually manage your iPod's contents. In order to be able to do this, you have to enable the *Manually manage music and videos* option from under the iPod's Summary tab.

Is deleting Contacts & Photos possible - but not using Restore?

Many thanks in advance for your attention.
For someone using a Mac:
Is there a way of deleting one's Contacts and Photos (data files) without using the Restore Option (which deletes EVERYTHING)?
I click on the iPod icon on my desktop and see a folder for Contacts and a folder for Photos, but within them I can't tell which would be my file for my actual Contacts and which would be the file that runs the Contacts App.
For example, the Contacts folder has 3 files:
ipod created instructions.vcf
ipod created example.vcf
iSync.vcf
Deleting any of these seems like I would be deleting the iPod's OS part of Contacts, not my contacts info.
Photos folder has one file and one folder within:
photodatabase
Thumbs
In my own computer, I would know how to delete my contacts or Photos. You look for those files.
I do not want to delete these files on computer so syncing iPod to computer for that purpose would not work.

Maybe I am missing something, but if you just uncheck sync for Contacts, then your old contacts remain in one's iPod.
Unchecking sync under "Photos," a prompt comes up, asking if you want all your photos removed or not. You have a choice.
But I see no such prompt for Contacts.

Photos deleted, is it possible to recover them all?

during a sincronization with itunes, instead of backing up 1st,
all new photos on camera roll were deleted.
the back up stored on pc was not recent, so all of them losted.
can I recover them?

Had you been using your phone as recommended, you would have imported your photos OFF your phone onto your computer for safe keeping and archival and avoided all of this.
If your recent backup does NOT contain those photos on your camera roll, they're gone forever.
I STRONGLY urge you to read the iPhone user guide (link to it is in your safari app) and learn to use the iPhone as recommended. Especially pertaining to contacts.

Is direct deletion without archiving possible?

When a message is deleted we will not be able to view it in SXMB_MONI isnt it? What about messages that are archived?
You will not be able to see both of them but you can retrive the arhived messages using 'Archived XML messages' option in SXMB_MONI transaction
And incase i maintain a retention period for deletion as 10 and archive retention period as 30, it makes no sense isnt it?
Because the message will be deleted by delete job before it becomes available for archival.

"Delete Styles" not possible in new generated Pages Document

is this normal:
I make a new Document out of an empty template.
Now this doc has some styles.
Some of these styles I can´t delete.
Some of them are delete"able".
My Question: How can I delete these styles which I don´t need ore use!!!

Bernhard,
You do not need to post this twice.
Pages automatically includes certain styles like the heading and body style. These you can not delete, but you can change them.

So My icloud email account seems to have disappeared a few selective emails which I DID NOT delete,is that possible?

When is Remote Delete of Iphone possible with MobileMe?

Does the phone need to be on?
What about Find my Iphone? Does it need to be activated to implement the remote delete?
Will remote delete work only if the phone is on or Will it delete remotely if connected to WIFI ?
When should I change the password to mobile me?

You must have activated Find my iPhone on the device first (this does NOT mean download the app from the app store).
Remote lock or wipe will only work if and when the phone is on and connects either to the cellular network or WiFi. It will NOT work if whoever has it wipes it before you issue the command and it connects to the data network.
As for changing the mobileme password. If you have to ask, just change it now. Do NOT store the password in plain text anywhere on the phone itself.

I am able to delete the SC item after PO creation..! Is it allowed as per general business scenario. Is it possible to delete SC items after PO creation?
How to curb this?

As per standard design, it is possible to delete a shopping cart if only
one follow-on document exists. For example, a purchase order or a
purchase requisition.
When you delete the shopping cart in EBP, the deletion indicator will
be set in the purchase order.
You cannot delete the shopping cart if the follow-on document has other
follow-on documents, like confirmation or invoice.
The following is the standard behaviour for SC/limit SC deletion:
SC -> PO : deletion possible
SC -> PReq: deletion possible
SC -> PReq + PO: deletion NOT possible
SC -> PO + CF: deletion NOT possible
SC -> PReq + PO + CF: deletion NOT possible
SC -> PO + CF + INV: deletion NOT possible
SC -> PReq + PO + CF + INV: deletion NOT possible
Standard logic: in general SC does not prevent the deletion of SC items
just because of existence of follow-on documents.
The SC item itself does not know if the deletion is possible.
It just tries to delete the corresponding item of follow-on document.
If this deletion has been successful, then also the SC item can
and will be deleted. If the deletion of follow-on document item has
failed, the SC item deletion is not possible.
So it is a task of follow-on document to know if its items can be
deleted or not.

Is it possible to delete the recovery partition on HDD?

I had a virus on my laptop, so I gave it to a 'specialist'.
When I had it back it turned out, that it didn't work properly - another specialist said that the recovery disc was deleted - is it possible? or is it just hidden?
And if I do not have the recovery HDD any more, what should I do know?
Where can I buy ad to recovery to recover my system?
Please, help me, cause I'm a total ignoramus as far as computers are concerned...:(

just noticed your response on a thread and thought I would try this question on you which relates to a product recovery thread i started....
I backed up all files and ran system recovery last night. It all went ok (i think) however i had no idea what to do when it asked me to choose partition size. there where two options. the first option was checked by default and had "recommended" after it. It did however have an adjustable scale from 0-11.4 gB.
The second otpion i cannot remember (it was 4am!!).
Anyway i used another computer to access info on Internet, but after finding no help i simply had to go for it. Thus i left the adjustable tab in the default position that i found it in which was at 11.4gB.
System is working good when i started up again but i notice that i have almost completely used up disc space. I guess this is something to do with my choice of 11.4gb.
Thus i think i will (hope i can) run the recovery again and rectify this issue by allocating less disc space. i knew there would be something, hence the amount of questions I asked before doing it.
Please tell me this is reversible by recovering again, and please give me an idea of the amount of space i should choose.
