Deleting Fields

Hello Guys,
Why can't we delete a Field Created in CRMOD for any record type, while we can delete other things like Page Layouts, Lists etc.
Is there any way to delete the fields created.
Thanks

At this time it is not possible to delete fields in CRM On Demand. It is a best practice to rename the field by putting a z in front of the label. This allows you to easly recognize these fields when doing reports or lists.

  • Deleting fields from a standard view

    Hello,
I want to delete fields form standard view which are appended by me accidentally . I have written a delete statement to delete the fields from the standard view . but i got an error at declaration part . I have declared it as shown below
    Tables : V_MMIM_REP_CUST
    V_MMIM_REP_CUST----
    > is the view name
So, guide me how to declare this view .

    Hi,
This is just an idea to delete the records from the Table. But ideally you should not use this approach in any development.
The table for this view is MMIM_REP_CUST. You can write a Custom Report Program where you need to create a work area with the values which you would like to delete. And then write a Delete statement and delete the table entry from that work area.
I guess you are doing this in the development environment and have all the necessary authorizations. And you should not transport any report like the above to other environments. Also double check if that entry will not effect other business scenarios.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to Delete Field in RO Recon Fields

    Hi,
I am trying to delete a field in the Resource Object > Object Reconciliation > Reconciliation Fields.
It was set up as MultiValue. When I click on the Field and click Delete Field - nothing happens. It is not used in Reconciliation Process Mappings - and I do not receive any error - it just acts like it is processing (a little window pops up briefly that says "Deleting....") but then the Field is still in the list.
I tried changing the Field Type from MultiValue to String and then Deleting - but the same thing happens.
Is there a way to remove this field?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dawn

What I can presume from your description is that you must have also run reconciliation prior to this. (So may be the reconciliation field is used somewhere in database and the catch is that it's not showing you the error). There would be a simple check to validate this. Just go the same Resource object under 'Reconciliation Fields' tab and try deleting some attribute which is not multi-attributed data. See for the result:
    - If this attribute gets deleted then we need to investigate further.
    - If this attribute also shows up an error as - 'Field cannot be deleted as it is used in Reconciliation Event Data' then you know what is the problem.
Now if you find that the later result is true in your environment then you can probably try the following to achieve this :
    - Take the backup of the following tables in OIM database.
RCA, RCB, RCD, RCP, RCH, RCU, RPC, RCM, RCE
    - Once you take the backup delete the contents of these tables in the order specified above because data entries have dependencies between each other.
(Note - This will delete all your reconciliation related stuff, but you anyway have the backup of this data)
    - Now you can try deleting your reconciliation field. You should be able to do that.

  • Delete fields without names

    Hi,
I am using GuiXT for the first time to enhance some of the screens in our SAP system to make them more user friendly. I am trying to delete most of the fields in the screen ME55 - Collective Release (program: RM06BF00 screen: 1000). The problem is trying to delete multiple fields on the one line from the screen eg: Document Type has 2 selection fields and a multiple selection box. I have tried using: DEL [Document Type] "-Triple" but this does not delete all of the line; it leaves 1 field and the multiple selection box. Can you advise?
    Thanks,
    Rathul.

    Hi,
There are several ways to delete fields without names:
    (1) you use direct coordinates:
// delete pushbutton in "document type" line
    del #[11,78]
I would avoid this possibility, since any changes in the ABAP report could change the position of this button as well
    (2) you use relative positions with respect to [Document type]:
// delete pushbutton in "document type" line
    del [Document type]+(0,78)
This is much better, since the vertical position (column) of the button does not change, if more or less parameters are defined in the report.
    (3) You delete the whole line
// delete line containing the "document type" selection
    del [Document type] [Document type]+(0,100)
This is fine if you really want to delete the whole line.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..
    Cheers,
    Chandra Sekhar.

  • Delete fields in Address Book view

I imported my Outlook contacts into AB via .txt file. Now all of the address cards that I have just imported have bithdays and anniversaries with the same date. These fields do not appear on my template in preferences. Is there a way to delete these 2 fields on all of my cards?
    Thanks

    Hi Rob,
What I meant to post was:
    set HitDate to (date "Sunday, November 21, 1999 00:00:00") + 12 * hours
    tell application "Address Book"
    -- Loop through people
    repeat with thisPerson in people
    -- Loop through element
repeat with thisDate in (custom dates of thisPerson)
    -- Take action
if value of thisDate is equal to HitDate then
    delete thisDate
    end if
    end repeat
    end repeat
    end tell
This doesn't work (the items are not deleted), but doesn't error.
It seems to me to be a bug in Address Book.

  • Unable to update Logical Delete field in AS400

    hi all,
We have an ESB process that polls for data in AS400 DB and transfers this data into an Oracle DB. This polling is based on Logical Delete. The data transferred is in the range of some lakhs of records. So we are sending around 5000 records per transaction in ESB. When we deploy the process, the data in AS400 is being read and getting transferred. However, the status field is not changing to 'Read Value'. Due to this, we are facing a lot of issues like, when we're in middle of data transfer and the opmn restarts, the data which has already been transferred is also being read and this is throwing an error because of primary constraint violation. Even after the data transfer, if we delete any rows in Oracle DB, the data transfer resumes as the status field is not updated.
I have worked with logical delete in Oracle DB before and was working fine.
Please help me with Logical Delete functionality in case of AS400 Database and also please let me know the privilages we need to have on the AS400 DB to successfully run this process.
    Thanks,
    Kamal.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you was unable to update managed metadata field in designer workflow.
You need to provide the exact string for the MMS value, in the form of <id>;<value>.
The format of the value you wanted to set is uncorrectly, so you cannot update the managed metadata field.
If you want to set the managed metadata field value with correct format, you’d better to create custom action.
There is an article for your reference, although it is about the SharePoint 2010, it is similar to SharePoint 2013.

  • Deploytool not deleting fields in ejb-jar.xml and sun-cmp-mappings.xml

Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition 1.4 SDK Developer Release deploytool
This situation was found on a simple, but original application using CMP EJB's. The database is MySQL using numeric id's and foreign keys.
I changed some fields in the database and went through the usual 14 attempts at getting deploytool to recognize a new schema without success. The one thing that is noticed is that when I tried to open the CMP display in the Entity selection the tool would not show any data, also it appears to lockup; however, if you select EJB in the choice box of the upper left you can get the view to close.
In desperation (mind you decoding machine generated XML is NOT my favorite activity) I looked at the descriptor viewer and notice fields existed in the descriptor that were deleted in the database. The tool had read the schema because the new fields were also present.
In sun-cmp-mappings.xml the old <cmp-field-mapping> definitions were still present. and in ejb-jar.xml the <query> and <cmp-field> were still present.
After deleting them out -- happy, happy, happy, joy, joy, joy. Deploytool accepted the new schema (keeping all the proper old stuff correctly. yea!!!) and a simple create mapping process brought the beans and database into sync.
I didn't want to report a bug, since I am actually new to EJB's so if anybody wishes to comment please do. I just wanted to provide a heads up in case this was something not noticed.
    BTW I'm a recent expert at EJB's anybody got a job? :-)

Have you tried to unmap your fields and relationships?
Go through all your enterprise beans in the CMP Database window and click Unmap All until the Persistent Field Mappings table is empty of mappings. Then click Create Database Mappings, select the new schema, and verify the fields and relationships were mapped. This should clear out any old field mappings.

  • Message Mapping delete Field

    Hello,
i want to delete a field in the target structure.
Like you do it with disable.
    for example
when in the source field the value is empty i want to disable the target field.
But when there is a value, i want to map this value into target field.
how i have to handle that?
    regards,
    robin

    Hi,
Use Create If in mapping. i have documented for my requirement. and apply the same logic in your case also.
If the field CHARG is don’t have any value in the source means , we shouldn’t produce the Target Element . Then we used the Create If logic. If the Field have the value from the source means we have to produce it at target side , otherwise we have to collapse it.

  • Customising Business Package iView by deleting fields/column

    Hi,
I wanted to know the tools/procedure require to customise existing business package iViews (in a MSS implementation).
If we want to say delete/add a particular field or column in an existing iView, what tools do we need? Visual Composer or Web Dynpro? Is there a step-by-step guide available for this?
    Your input is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Aniruddh

    HI Aniruddh
If you want to change the iview, upload the par file of the iview to NDS, save it in another name.
Then make the necessary changes, and again upload to the portal.
Then make an iview based on the new par file.
But I don't think SAP provides the source code along with the business package. So making the changes to the par file will not be a straight forward method. You will have to decompile the class files and make changes in them.
    It is a tedious activity.

That is a question which requires a long answer. basically both tools were created as UI-Tools, VC as generating tool for UIs (the old name GUIMachine pays some respect to that) and WD as metadata-driven UI tool (which also generates the UI-code).
While VC originally was supposed to be something like the Rolls-Royce under the "iView-Wizards", WD was to be supposed to be the new SAP UI for the ABAP and Java-world and be a successor of ABAP Dynpro and HTML-B.
As it turns out, UI alone without access to the BAPIs, WebServices etc. is not enough, so both were enhanced far beyond their original intentions.
VC is now a browser based tool (thin IDE) that allows you to build applications, without ever touching coding.
WD is a tool included in the NetWeaver DevStudio (based on Eclipse) and therefor more of a "fat IDE".
In the coming NetWeaver-release out of VC-model UIs as WebDynpros (or other UI-technologies like Macromedia Flex) will be generated, so both worlds will be integrated.
For quick applications without writing code (e.g. done by business experts), VC is a good tool.
For applications that need to be pimped, i.e. code added to the generated code, WD is a good tool.
And if I start now talking about CAF or ESI then it will be a very long night...

  • Delete field from a custom Infotype

What are the steps involved in doing this?
What are the things I need to take care of before doing this and after doing this?
    Thanks,
    Kiran

Ok. There is a change in plan now. We want to initialse the field first before we delete it and check for all the records and make sure that field is initialised and only then hide the field on the infotype.
So what are all the ways to initialise this field. I can think of BDC. any more clues please.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

  • Delete field value with DTW

Does anyone know how to delete a value in a field with DTW?
    For example:
I want to use DTW to Update my BPs to delete the the Foreign Name for each BP.
    Any thoughts?

    Suda,
Thanks for the reply.  That was my assumption, but I was hoping I was missing something.
On that note, besides going into SQL, are you aware of any solution that can delete large amounts of records at once?
    i.e. Deleting all BP Catalogs?
