i want to upload the new master records into my system regarding the MM. first thing i want to delete the old records in the system and freshly want to load into the system. please give me the soluion how to do it.
it is a development server..

When uploading the new master records, just assign the previous numbers used by the old master records and the new upload will overwrite those old records. In this case deleting/overwriting the old records.
If you dont assign the new upload any numbers, it will append below the exisiting records, that way not deleting the old records.

Advanced Table in Table - Error on Deleting the master record

Dear All,
I have a custom EmployeesVO and a ReimbursementsVO.
EmployeesVO is the master and ReimbursementsVO is the child.
They are based on EO which are linked by entity association. The VOs are linked by a viewlink (which is inturn based on the Association)
I have created an advanced table-in-table, where EmployeesVO is the master, and in the detail, I have the reimbursementsVO.
Both inner and outer table have a "Select and Delete Row" functionality. This works fine on the Inner table (Reimbursements).
However on the outer table for Employees, I have two options
1. In the Employees EO , select the "Implement Cascade Delete"
2. In the Employees VORowImpl, create a "Remove" method, iterate through the child rows using view link accessor, delete the child rows first and then call super.remove method. to delete the employee row itself.
In both cases, I get an error saying "error forming SQl statement...Invalid column type" or "Unable to create java.lang.Object". On debugging, I see that it has no issues deleting the child rows and that goes through fine, but when the master row is deleted - :(
Will be grateful if anyone can provide any advise on this.

Pre requiste is to 'you must set the deletion flag in the master record'.
Please let me know how to set deletion flag.

For archiving you have to Flag thel master record for deletion. This is known as logical deletion.
For examble make customer delete ie set flag you can use tranx vd06

Error while deleting the Master data

Hi Friends,
i am getting the below error while deleting the data from a master data:-
The system is unable to delete all of the specified master data,because some of it is still in use. (See log:Object RSDMD, sub-object MD_DEL )
Do you want to delete the data records that are no longer in use?
Could you guide how should i proceed to delete the data.

Hi Hirdesh,
If you are using master data in someother data targets u cant delete master data.So first you have to delete the data in data targets where this particual master data object is used, then remove the data in master data object.

How to delete the material records related to storage type

Dear SAP guru's,
I got a situation that if the material "XXXXXX" exists in two different storage type (let say 001 & 002 ) and the material needs to be removed out of one (Let say 002) to avoid the picking and putaway in future.
Inorder to accomplish an above requirement we tried the below cases
Case 1: By flagged the material "XXXXXX" under storage type 002 in MM06 transaction.But it didn't restrict the system on allocating and removing the stock from /to to the storage type 002.
Case 2:After we flagged the material for deletion under storage type 002 ,we used to MM71 transaction to archive & delete the material record that assocaited with the storage type 002 completely.
I am kind of queiries to know if there is any other method or procedure available to delete the storage type associated material records in SAP.
Please guide me with the other options.Thanks.

Hi John,
Its very simple, remove the Storage type indicators from the material master - Warehouse View 1 at Stock placement & Stock removal section, with this it won't pickup or place the materials in the concerned storage type.
If you have extended this materials to more than 1 storage type, you need to do the same for all the storage types.

You want to use one single SQL statement to delete the child records in a table and the corresponding master records in the master table??
That's not quite possible with a single SQL, of course unless you are talking about Oracle Forms, where you have a relation and set the delete behavior to Cascading, like said in the above posts.

How to delete a master record with transaction data?

Iam able to delete master record(GL/Vendor/Customer)through OBR2 when there is no transaction data in those respective master records. Despite of clearing all open items in a particular vendor Account, Iam unable to delete that master record. Please suggest me how we can delete vendor master data having transactional data.

Not sure whether this helps....you can mark the vendorrecord for deletion and later try to delete it.

Can VMD_EI_API handle Create, Edit, and Delete Vendor Master records?

I have a development that requires to create, edit, and delete vendor master records through a webportal ui. Technically, it will be a background process in SAP because it must not have a dialog screen. In my search so far, there is no standard BAPI or Function module that can handle this one.
Can the class VMD_EI_API handle the requirements?

Yes, You can use this class to create/modify/delete vendor master data. You can find in SCN documents with example how use it.

Attribute change run fails - "Error when deleting the data record /B05/X.."

Hello,
I get the error message "Error when deleting the data record /B05/X.." on doing the change run.
I have already done RSRV on this objects and found no errors, but still the activation fails.
please give your suggestions ASAP to fix the issue as it is on production system.

Attribute change run could fails due to 2 reasons-
(1) attribute xchange run is already runnnig for any toher object(monitor lock) (check by thi prog-RSDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR)
(2) data is loading deleting from the object on which attribut changerun is running.(go in a manage tab and check)
check this two conditions and rerun the attribute changrun again from program - RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN and give the master data name in the selection.

Item Master Data --> Right click and Remove Items
Before that check the items
1.Item was '0' qty
2.Item Master Data--Inventory Data-->Check all the warehouse-->Instock-->Commitment->Order Qty
Removal items is fresh nothing problem for removing process.
Is there any postings, the all related data's are abused.

Can I configure to always delete the master file?

Hi!
If I want to delete a file, I don't just remove it from the cataloge, but to delete the master file, too.
If I use the remove key, I get the (annoying) pop up, what I want to do: (sorry, I've a german version, so I just try to translate it)
Delete from hard disk
Remove (default selected)
Cancel
Is there any chance to avoid this dialog? Or at least to chance the preselected button, so I've just to use the enter key?

P.S.: I just found out, that ALT+DELETE is a shurtcut to remove the file from the catalog. So it would be greate to have a similar shurtcut to delete the file from the filesystem.

But it is almost the same as CTRL+ALT+DELETE, which has a special meaning in Windows :-(
So there is no way, to get a delete action, that easiliy deletes, without pressing four keys in parallel? :-|
Perhaps, the developers of Lightroom could provide an option, so you get the pop up, but the default action is different. That would be really great.

How to delete the duplicated records, not just surpress the records?

I am new to CR. Right now I am doing a project which needs CR get query from Oracle. I got the query from Oracle. There are records with duplicated fields. For example (the following only show part of fields):
ID    body_code
1            10
2             10
3             15
4              15
5              15
6              16
I need to only select records (not surpress, because I will do some caluculate later) like following:
ID         body_code
1             10
2              15
3               16
I tried to creat selection fomula in fomula workshop, shown as follows:

but CR said next can be evaluated. I think it must have something to do with the print-time. So what show I do to delete the duplicated records.Thank you very much.

Try this:
Insert a group on body_code. Then create a running total called Distinct Count. Field to summarize -> ID, Evaluate on change of group Group # 1 Body Code, and Never Reset.
Then insert a chart in the report header:
In the advanced layout, select body_code on change of and select Distinct Count running total in the Show values.
