Delivering serialized session or logon token to external web app?

Hello,
I have the following situation, the user logs into SAP BO 4.0 Launch pad application, he needs to start our external web application and therefore we created an hyperlink. The application opens in a new tab, that's running fine. Our application uses BO SDK to provide some functionality (browse user SAP folders, reports or so), and therefore we need to log in into the current user session.
Is there any way to deliver either the serialized session or logon token to external application? Are there any internal variables to be used? Or should I use totally different approach?
There would be a workaround by delivering just the current BO user name to the external app, and than using a separate (administrators) login to fetch only the current user's data. But this I guess is not the right way to do the job.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi Martin,
I am facing same situation than you and I also considered using the trusted authentication until I reads following statement in java docs
To enable trusted authentication on a client machine, create a text file named TrustedPrincipal.conf on the client machine and add the following text:
SharedSecret=<secret>
where <secret> is the trusted authentication shared secret configured in BusinessObjects Enterprise.
So, if the external web app may be launched from any user this would mean having to install this file in all BI LaunchPad desktop computers. It isn´t? This does not sound very elegant. Is this what you did?
Thanks

  • How to create new instance of the process from external web apps?

    Hi Everyone,
How to create a new instance of the process which deploy to the weblogic server from the external web app?
    Thank you.

Assuming the process includes a message start event, the simplest way is to use Web Service call. Once you've deployed the process you can use Enterprise Manager to get the URL of the WSDL. There's and icon at the top of the composite summary page for getting the WSDL, or you can get it from the test page. Use that WSDL URL to construct the client to use from the web app. If it's an ADF client you can generate either an ADF Data Control or a client proxy.

  • Close session on URL reporting - Logon token

    Hi,
when a user opens a report using a direct link (like openDocument) he creates a session that doesn't expires when he close the browser window.
So if the same user opens 5 times the same report, he uses all the 5 licenses and the system is not accesible anymore (until the server will unlock the connections).
It is possible to avoid this?
    Thanks!!
    Edited by: freeman74 on Dec 21, 2009 2:24 PM

On page 17 and 18 of the doc "xi3-1_url_reporting_opendocument_en.pdf" it is written:
    ASPTOKEN
Logon tokens ensure that your company's licensing information is accurate.
Each time a user logs on to the BusinessObjects Enterprise system, the
count for the number of licenses that are currently in use increases by one.
If a logon token is not passed as a parameter, each time the user logs on to
the CMS (for example, the user may want to log on to a different
BusinessObjects Enterprise client component), the count increments. As a
result, an administrator or auditor may overestimate the number of licenses
    in use.
    Example:
This example shows you how to display a report when the user clicks the
    View Report link.
    <a target='_blank' href='http://<servername>:<port>/CrystalRe
    ports/viewrpt.cwr?id=" & "CurrentReportID & " & _ apstoken="
    & LogonToken & "'> View Report</a>
The resulting URL for this link is as follows:
    http://<servername>:<port>/CrystalReports/viewrpt.cwr?id=152&ap
    stoken=myAPS:A1B2
I'm writing a URL that contains username and password to avoid the login; but how can I get the logon token before the user views the report??

  • How to pass serialized session/usertoken to BO webservice from xcelsius?

I wonder how to pass serialized session/usertoken to BO webservice from xcelsius. Could anyone help me how to pass the serialized session/user token to BO web service from Xcelsius?
Xcelsius is working fine when i use the username/password. But i would like to pass serialized session/usertoken from jsp file to Xcelsius as flash variable , then i will use this variable to get the data from webservice.
Is that possible to send serialized session/usertoken using soap header?
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Micheal
Thank you for the reply.  I have already created the CELogonToken Flash Variable and i am able get the logon token and map to the flash variable.
Now i would like to pass the same to biws as parameter. But the service has only 2 parameters as username and password.
Is there a way that i can create my custom parameters(CELogonToken/CESerializedSession) in BIWS service?

  • Help: consuming an external web service with user name token

    Hello Together!
I need to consume an external web service secured with WS-UserNameToken. The way, how did I do it:
    1. I generated a web service consumer (proxy) in SE80 from the wsdl file
    2. I created logical port for the consumer in SOAMANAGER
    3. I created security profile in WSSPROFILE with telpmate SET_USERNAME and assigned it to consumer operation in LPCONFIG  (I use LPCONFIG, because I didn't find any way to do it in SOAMANAGER)
    3. I called the web service and got the error back:  session token is missing or invalid or has inspired
    My questions are:
    1. is this possible to consume an external webservice in SAP, which is secured with WS-Usernametoken?
    2. do I need therefore any settings in java stack? do I need java stack in general?
    3. Is this any way to configure the consumer without writing programs, which set header parameter manually?
    4. if the answer on the third question is no, do you have any examples, how to implement session management in report? (I mean sending session id and checking the validaty of id)
I appriciate any help of you!
    best regards Anna

    Hi,
it should be possible to use WS-UserNameToken for consuming web service. It should be available on AS BAP 7.0 and higher. This profile should be under category Document authentication. You can try to dump a message send from SAP to see what is going out of SAP. This should be supported in ABAP so you don't need a Java stack. What exactly do you want to configure? Do you want to just set user name and password for that service which will be used for any calls of that proxy?
    Cheers

  • Deliver data to external web service possible in OBIEE 11g?

    Hi all,
I'm looking into the possibility of "pushing" data from OBIEE and out to an external web service, e.g. through executing a scheduled report that instead of delivering the result on screen, it would call an external web service that would consume the generated data for storage in an external system.
Does anyone know if this is possible to implement in OBIEE 11g? (So far, all I've found is how to display data in OBIEE through consumation of web service(s), but I'd like to "push out" data to a web service from OBIEE).

Most likely you are running into double-hope issue.
Read following article and implement the workaround that works for you.

I am assuming your are using NTLM in your farm. If you are using Kerberos then check the following article.

    Hi Trinath,
Could you please confirm if you could save a new report as well or not; or is it specific to scheduling.
If you are unable to save a report also then I think this is due to the path of the Input File Repository Server or its temporary directory are not pointing to the same path, and their locations are set to 2 different hard drives
BOXI3.1 Server must use the same hard drive (local or network share) for the Input File Repository Server and its temporary directory.

    Hello,
Can you please confirm that you have been through section 6.2 of the installation guide, " Removing Session Level Security in the Data Services Application?
    If not please do the following;
To ensure the security of your software, the data services security setting is
enabled by default for all web service operations. This security may cause your existing web service calls to fail. To verify your security settings:
    1. In the Data Services Management select "Administrator > Web
    Services."
    2. Click the Web Services Configuration tab.
    3. Select the following:
    • Delete_Repo_Objects
    • Get_BatchJob_List
    • Get _ BatchJobRunIDs
    • Get_BatchJob_Status
    • Get_Error_Log
    • Get_Monitor_Log
    • Get_Trace_Log
    • Run_Batch_Job
    4. Select Disable Session Security
    5. Click Apply.
If that does not resolve the issue please confirm that the user is assigned to either the BOFIM Business, Executor, or Administrator groups in BOE.

  • DocumentDownload? -- (FWM 02080) Invalid logon token

I have a parent swf that is opening a child swf using 'documentDownload?' via the slideshow component, well everything works fine except for the logon token, I am getting the error message below. The child swf becomes visible but when the queries start to load I get that error message.
    Error Message:
soapenv:Server.generalException: Invalid logon token (FWM 02080)
The only thing I can think of is the authentication, all the QaaWs queries are set up to consume under WinAD but I am logging in to InfoView to test using Enterprise.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi all,
Iam facing this error quite a long while, pls provide as any update how to resolve in steps. Actually i tried all possible solutions from the above posts but still getting the error. This is what i also did:
    in excel:
    ="documentDownload?iDocID=<ID>&sKind=Flash&CELogonToken="&A2
I created my flash var in the Data Manager and called it CELogonToken, and it is mapped to an empty cell(A2). Used slideshow component bind to A2 and set application settings as new
Pls provide any one resolution that could solve this problem for all. Iam using Dashboard 4.0
    version.
    Regards,
    Din

  • Error LNK2028: unresolved token (0A00001E) "extern "C" long

In a Microsoft Visual studio C++ 2005 CLR forms application the error:'
error LNK2028: unresolved token (0A00001E) "extern "C" long
    > __stdcall DAQmxCreateTask(char const * const,unsigned long *)"
can be solved by making two changes in the project properties:
    1. Change \properties\linker\input\Additional Dependences\ from
    "$(NoInherit);" to "$(NoInherit) NIDAQmx.lib"
    2. Change \properties\linker\general\Additional Library Directories\ to
    "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\DAQmx ANSI C Dev\lib\msvc".
While the second change may be a clear one to users of non-microsoft products (like myself), the first one is not so clear.

I believe that the .NET API for NI-DAQmx does not install by default unless you have Measurement Studio installed. Run your DAQmx installer in modify mode and made sure the feature .NET Framework 2.0 Languages Support is enabled.
After you install the .NET API, help is available directly in MSDN or through Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>NI-DAQ>>NI-DAQmx .NET Framework 2.0 Help. If you want to evaluate whether this approach is a good one for you, I recommend that you look at the topics under NI Measurement Studio Help>>NI Measurement Studio .NET Class Library>>Using the Measurement Studio DAQmx .NET Library, rather than trying to sift through all of the reference (which is located under NI Measurement Studio Help>>NI Measurement Studio .NET Class Library>>Reference>>NationalInstruments.DAQmx.
We do not have examples in C++/CLI, so you will need to look at the C# or VB.NET examples for guidance. I'm not sure if this will be easier for you than using the C API examples. It probably depends on your comfort level with C vs. C# and on whether the rest of your program is more C-like or more .NET-like.

  • Redirecting Logon Token in XI 3.1

We have a custom application in BOEXI R2, which gets the login information, creates a logon token & passes the URL to open a Infoview window.
We are in process of upgrading this to BOEXI 3.1, so we made necessary assembly reference changes & the Infoview URL. But the application is not logging to Infoview using the login token. So we would like to know is there any changes made in BOEXI 3.1 for the way of passing the login token/cookies.

You should be able to log in with passwords as well.
It is up to you as to how you want to get the password to the page for use in the logon step.
Just replace the "" with "whateveryourpasswordis" and as long as the user name is correct and it is set up with secEnterprise credentials it will log in as that user.
    enterpriseSession = sessMgr.Logon("Administrator", "", System.Environment.MachineName.ToString(), "secEnterprise");
