Delta in HR Module

Guys,
I just wanted to confirm whether Delta loads are possible only in Payroll and Time Management? Are there any other Sub Modules under HR where Delta loads are possible for BI 7.0??
Are there any Structural Authorizational changes between BW 3.x and BI 7.0? If so, can some one point out those...

Generic delta   using function module with two fields AEDAT AND ERDAT

    i have scenario that i have to create a generic data source having delta using funcation module and the delta speci fields are AEDAT AND ERDAT . Is there possibility with out using these two fields ( i mean AEDAT AND ERDAT) in the extract structure can i create the data source . and provide sample code for me . it is very urgent.

Generic delta with function module

Hi Gurus,
Is it possible to create a generic DataSource with delta support using function module following the queue delta mechanism (u can get some function moduel in MCEX function group, and check the outbound delta queue before and after update in transaction smq1.
I can store the delta data using qRFC and collective update mechanism. but I don't know how to create a generic data with delta and how to attach a rfc destination (& logical system) to the data source. The Source system information is stored in the table "ROOSGEN". Is there any configuration setting required to do the same.

What I understand you to be asking is if it is possible to create a generic delta extractor which uses the delta queue. If this indeed is your question the answer is yes.
First you need to create your data source so it is visible via tx RSA5 and need to make sure that the delta type (ie ABR, AIM)is set appropriately for the datasource.
The issue however is determining from where you will associate your delta hook (when will you write to the queue)? I have in the past utilized BTE's, Business Transaction Events to write information out to the delta queue, you can see a list of available BTE's in your system via tx FINF.
Once you find a place to write your deltas from you call the below FM with the appropriate datasource.
RSC1_TRFC_QUEUE_WRITE.
Once you have done this the standard BW extractor for deltas will pull the information from the delta queue. But from what I understand you just want to know how to associate the data with the delta and that is the FM listed above.

My extract structure contains Zdate(TDLDATE), Ztext1,2,3, Key field and langu in RSO2 I have selected calday in generic delta and Zdate as field Nm and upper limit as 1 and lower limit as space in settings and new status for changed records button.
Did I missed something because when i check in RSA7 i didnot see any changed records under totals column and i tried to load without it into BW than i didnot received single record evenafter changes.Would anyone suggest me the good solution for it I appreciate it in advance. I have seen lot of posts in SDN but I didnot find this type of secenario anywhere.

I am creating function module for generic delta (both Full, Delta) using RSAX_BIW_GET DATASIMPLE. My generic field is AEDAT.
When I check this function module, there is no logic to maintain Delta load excapt Full. Where as this Delta functionality is available in another function module RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA. Now my question is:
Can we use RSAX_BIW_GET DATASIMPLE for Delta load also?
If yes, How to maintain delta based on AEDAT field?
Do we need to maintain this Delta specific field AEDAT in Extract structure?
Can anybody please clarify my doubts.....

Error while Doing Delta upload

While loading the deltas in SD Module we are getting the error that 'No SID value for 0BILLTOPRTY and 0SOLD_TO'. We already run the delta for Customer.
Even though we are able to see that record in customer, we are getting the error.

Problem with functioning Generic Delta

I Have Created a Generic Delta and has Scheduled the Delta Load By Means of Process Chain In BI Side.
Although it is showing Green(OK) status for the respected Request at PSA(saying No Data Exists FOR PSA) and ODS Lavel but no data is loaded at ODS.
although the data for the same crieria is available in R/3 side.
please share your idea what is reason behind........

Datasource using a Function Module

Experts,
We have a requirement where we need to make use of FM in Datasource in order to extract text data.
The FM is a standard module called 'READ TEXT' which outputs the CRM Objectives texts.
Should I use the standard FM 'RSAX_BIW_GET_TEXTS' from Function group:RSAX ?
1.Copy the above FM to a 'Z* FM' and do the manipulations in that FM. ?
2.Create a Generic DS from RSO2 and give the FM from step 1 ?
Did any of you come accross such requirement?
If so ,please let me know the appropriate steps involved in extracting Text data through FM.
Note:I already found a good documentation on Transaction data

I will suggest you to go by second option, create FM from RSO2 way...
Why don't you use and modify the tx data FM as per your requirement in CRM? I have not created one in CRM but hope the same FM can be helpful.

Generic delta extractors without timestamp!

Hi,
For a certain requirement, I have to develop generic extractors which should be delta capable. But unfortunately the source tables donu2019t have a timestamp; hence I canu2019t create delta enabled generic extractors using timestamp. Moreover most of the tables are standard SAP tables, which are used across different modules so it is not possible to introduce timestamp in these tables.
I am working on extractors for Business Partners in SAP Transaction Banking.
I have got couple of options:
1) To use the change pointers by activating CNS service in source system. It is possible to activate the service and set up the segments for standard and custom tables, from where I need to extract the data.
2) To develop the function module and create the generic extractors using delta queue functionality.
Issues: In the first approach, I have created an extractor and it is possible to recognize the changed records. But the issue is I need some kind of flag which tracks the information regarding last successful delta extraction for an extractor based on change pointers and standard SAP table. I am not sure how does standard extractors maintains this status and picks up new/changed records in delta functionality. Not sure how to achieve this.
In second approach I am not sure if it is possible to create generic extractors using delta queue and what are the complexities involved.
If someone has already worked on these areas, any inputs are most welcome.

I haven't worked on SAP Transaction Banking but I hope you can get most of Business Partner data in standard extractors. Try to look for some.
If you have to go for Generic extractor. there are 2 options:
1. Use BTE

My customer wants to have a sales report by product hierachy. I want to create an information structure for product hierachy and create a report from this info structure like a standard report. I dun know which steps to do. Pls tell me how to do. Your help are highly appreciated.

Steps in LIS EXTRACTION:
T.code - :MC18 u2013 create field catalog
1. Characteristic Catalog
Application-01-Sales and Distribution, 02-Purchasing, 03-Inventory Controlling, etc..
Catalog category 1. Characteristic catalog, 2. Key figures catalog 3. Date catalog Select characteristic catalog and enter, click on characteristic select the source table and it will be display the relevant source field and select the source field, copy + close, copy.
Save, similarly create key figures catalog
T.code : MC21 u2013 create infostructure

Choose characteristic select the catalog, select the fields, copy + close Choose key figures catalog select the key figures ,copy + close, save and generate

For delta update :
In R/3 side
T.code u2013 MC25, set update (V1) or (V2) or (V3)
T.code u2013 LBW0, choose generate updating and execute then choose activate / deactivate and execute
BW side - create infopackage and schedule the package with delta update.
First time if your scheduling the infopackage -in R/3 side T.code :MC25 -Udating set to No update,insted of selecting the update V1,V2,V3.
If your doing the Delta update:in R/3 side T.code :MC25-Updating set to either V1 or V2 or V3. and the to T.code :LBW0 -Select the radio button Active/deactivate and Execute.
and schedule the infopackage with delta update.
Modules for LIS : SD,MM, PP,QM.
Deltas for LIS:
After setting up the LIS environment, 2 transparent tables and 1 extract structure is generated for this particular info structure. Within transaction SE11 you can view the tables u2018SnnnBIW1u2019, u2018SnnnBIW2u2019 and the structure u2018SnnnBIWSu2019 and the InfoStructure itself u201ASnnnu2018
The tables S5nnnBIW1 & SnnnnBIW2 are used to assist the delta update process within BW.
Extract structure u2018SnnnnBIWCu2019 is used as an interface structure between OLTP InfoStructure and BW
The OLTP system has automatically created an entry in the control table u2018TMCBIWu2019. Within transaction u2018SE16u2019 youu2019ll see, that for your particular InfoStructure the field u2018BIW activeu2019 has the value u2018Xu2019 and the field u2018BIW statusu2019 is filled with value u20181u2019 (refers to table SnnnBIW1).
The orgininal LIS update program u201ARMCX#### will be enhanced within the form routines u201Aform Snnnbiw1_update_....u2018 and u201Aform Snnnbiw2_update
With the transaction u2018SE38u2019 youu2019ll see at the end of the program starting at line 870 / 1006, that the program is enhanced within a u2018BIW delta updateu2019 coding
Within the flag u201AActivate/Deactivateu2018 the update process into the delta tables (SnnnBIW1/Sn5nnBIW2) is swichted on/off. In the table u201ATMCBIWu2018 is defined, which table is active for delta update.
Note: The delta updating is client dependent !

Same set of Records not in the same Data package of the extractor

Hi All,
I have got one senario. While extracting the records from the ECC based on some condition I want to add some more records in to ECC. To be more clear based on some condition I want to add addiional lines of data by gving APPEND C_T_DATA.
For eg.
I have a set of records with same company code, same contract same delivery leg and different pricing leg.
If delivery leg and pricing leg is 1 then I want to add one line of record.
There will be several records with the same company code contract delivery leg and pricing leg. In the extraction logic I will extract with the following command i_t_data [] = c_t_data [], then sort with company code, contract delivery and pricing leg. then Delete duplicate with adjustcent..command...to get one record, based on this record with some condition I will populate a new line of record what my business neeeds.
My concern is
if the same set of records over shoot the datapackage size how to handle this. Is there any option.
My data package size is 50,000. Suppose I get a same set of records ie same company code, contract delivery leg and pricing leg as 49999 th record. Suppose there are 10 records with the same characteristics the extraction will hapen in 2 data packages then delete dplicate and the above logic will get wrong. How I can handle this secnaio. Whether Delta enabled function module help me to tackle this. I want to do it only in Extraction. as Data source enhancement.

You can write your logic to add the additional records in the case statement for your data source.

Generic Extractor Issue

Hello Experts,
I have one small doubt on the Generic Extractor. My Generic Extractor is based on the Delta with the changed on Field(AEDAT) and I wanted to know is it possible to extract the data if changed on is not updated to the document but other fields are getting updated.
Like if the Sales Document status is changing from One status to other. In this case the AEDAT for that sales order wont get updated. in this case is it possible to extract that record as Delta thru the Generic Extractor if the Extractor is based on AEDAT.
Suggestions will be appreciated..

Its very muc possible to define delta on 2 fields in generic data source , you need to use created on and changed on field to define delta by modifying standard extractor program
