Delta Infopackage selection changes

Hi
Can we run a delta IP in steps.
Scenario is I am using 0FI_GL_10 and there are multiple companies A,B,C,D.
I have done INIT one by one for all these company codes.
Now delta IP selection automatically gets updated when a sucessfull INIT takes places.
Currently my Delta IP has selection of company codes :: A ,B,C,D.
Problem is company C is having huge volume of data.
I want to know wheter I can split Delta IP into multiple so that I can run delta for all these companies separtely.
I want to run Delta for A first then for B then C like that.
Is it possible to split delta load company code wise or is there any other solution for this.

Hi,
There is a way around for your problem. BI allows for multiple init loads on same datasource given that the selection conditions for all of them are mutually exclusive. Therefore, you can do an INIT WITH DATA TRANSFER for company code A. This would load the records for company code A. Then do the initialisation for company code B. similarly for C & D. Note that init should be with data transfer. This would bring all the records.
The delta load condition is summation of all the init conditions. Therefore, once all the inits are completed, automatically, the selection condition for delta load will be Company Code: A, B, C, D. So, your delta load would fetch data for all these company codes.

How to edit data selection(Date) for an Init Delta Infopackage

Hi Experts,
We have a Process Chain which contains an Delta Infopackage.
This Delta Infopackage has a Data Selection (Date) condition which is till 12/2008. As well the same date selection is present in the init method as 12/2008.
Also we need to change the date selection in the data sources in R/3 side.
*Is there a way to edit the Init condition so that we can pull 2009 data without deleting the present Init and recreating a new Init?????? please suggest us with the procedure for the same.
Also could you tell us the impact of changing the date selection in BW and R/3 side??

I followed the steps you mentioned.
I created a new infopackage, gave the condition (01/2009 to 12/2999) and did a Init without Data transfer.
1. Now if we do a Delta load, will the loading be based on both Init Selections (01/2004 to 12/2008 and 01/2009 to 12/2999) or will it take the recent Init condition only(01/2009 to 12/2999)??
2. After doing the New Init(01/2009 to 12/2999), the Delta InfoPackage still shows the old Data Selection (01/2004 to 12/2008) In Selection Tab of IP, do we need to change the Date Selection as 01/2009 to 12/2999?
3. Where can we the Data selection in R/3 (TCODE)??

InfoPackage selection offset with OLAP variable

Hi Bw Gurus,
I have a requirement to load ODS with full upload everytime but in order to reduce repeated loads I am trying to use a DATE field which is not part of communication str. as a selection critera in InfoPacakge.
I changed DS to include this field avaialable for selection and It's working fine when I input date to and from values hard coded in InfoPackage.
Further I am trying to automate this InfoPackage scheduled weekly and I need to include date offset value for this DATE field to load for additional last 2 weeks every time to capture changes for already loaded data.
I have created OLAP customer exit variable having Date interval for Date starting from last 3 weeks to Current DAte and included in InfoPackage selection for DATE field but it's not working. By the way if someone can explain what's meaning for two columns there for TYPE(Variable change to selection.....) and detail for type.
Any clue for reason or any other way to accomplish this requirement?

i am trying to load the data everyweek ( i have date field ),so i have selected OLAP Variable option -7 and there i have selected 0WEEK,but data is not comining from R/3,then i have selected the option -6 abap code,i have written code to get the date range,even though i am not able to retrive the data.

Unable to create Init Delta InfoPackage.

Hi Experts,
I am working on BI 7.0 within Solution Manager (GSB 100).
Since I am extracting data from only 2 tables into 2 different InfoCubes, we did not require to create any Master Data loads.
In order to load these 2 InfoCubes, I have created 2 Transactional Generic DataSources in RSO2. When I try to create an InfoPackage from the context menu of these DataSources, Only Full Update is coming up in the Update Tab.
I'll create 2 Process Chains eventually for each InfoCubes. How can I create one Init Delta with / without Data Transfer and another Delta InfoPackage?
Any help is very much appreciated. Points will be assigned.

Quick one... If I wanted to do a Delta Load each time except for the very first time (i.e. Init Delta), it better to have 2 InfoPackages. But should they be as below:
1. Init Delta (should this be With Data or Without Data Transfer...?)
2. Delta Update

Routine in Infopackage selection

Hi,
We are using DB Connect and hence we need to write a routine in Infopackage selections to restrict the data to be extracted.
In the source file, there is a field called " Time stamp".
This is a Char 23 field with mm-dd-yyyy-hh.mm.ss.sssss format.
My requirement is lookinto first 10 char ( only for date) and filter the records. If the date = Sy-datum, then only, i want to extract the data in BI staging.
Is it possible to write a routine in Infopackage ? Can you pls help me ?
Or do i need to take the whole data into PSA and then write a routine in transformation while uploading to Data Target ?

The fields of type Int 1 not appearing in Infopackage selection

Hello Gurus,
I have created a generic datasource on two tables .
The fields that should be set as Selection fields for the DataSource are the following:
-     field 1------type char
-     field 2----
type char
-               field 3----
type Int1
-     field 4----
type Int1
Out of the above four table fields only the two fields with char datatype are appearing in infopackage selection.
The other two ie(field 3 and field 4) of datatype Int1 does not appear in infopackage selection.
I have ticked the check boxes in the selection field of datasource.
I also get all the four fields available for selection in RSA3(extractor checker tcode).
Kindly help me in resolving this issue.

Hi Leandro,
In the infopackage, under 0comp_code (or probably field BUKRS if it's an ERP datasource), you should select ABAP routine (6) under Type field. Then, you'll be prompted to create the routine.
There you should create a program that reads all the values of your infoobject master data table.

How to generate selection change event through code in JTree?

I am developing an application which downloads the file from other system and adds it into the tree. On selecting any file in the tree I m displaying it's contents. But now i am trying to display the contents of downloaded file as soon as it's download completes. Here i am not getting the way to how to generate the event as the download completes, because i tried that setSelectionPath(TreePath path), but it also don't generates the selection change event. Is there any other way to do so?

Put null in place of oldLeadSelectionPath. From the API for TreeSelectionEvent:
protected TreePath oldLeadSelectionPath:
leadSelectionPath before the paths changed, may be null.
I'm at the office and can't try out anything, so please let me know whether that works for you.

How to block lead selection change in a tree ?

Scenario
I have MasterTree - DetailEditor pair. MasterTree is used to visit some tree-structured data and DetailEditor is used to edit currently selected tree node.
Requirement
If currently selected node data is updated through DetailEditor and needs to be saved, than on a subsequent tree selection change the user should be warned about unsaved data.
Implementation
In onAction event handler of MasterTree I check whether last selected node data is updated and needs to be saved and if this is the case rollback treeSelection to that node. On the time onAction event handler is called the tree selection is changed from the node that needs save to the newly selected node. In order to rollback treeSelection I need to introduce variable referencing last selected tree node.
Question
Is there any other technique to implement above scenario without using additional variable and manually rollback treeSelection ? For example, to plug in WDP framework on validation step just before lead selection is changed.

There aren't any hooks provided prior to the event handlers being called. As far as I can tell, the way you are handling it is the only way that will work.

OLAP Variable with user exit for Infopackage Selection 0fiscper

I have a requirement to use a OLAP Variable for Fiscal year period 0fiscper(Characteristic ) in the Infopackage Selection. . I need to extract the data for Previous Year and Current Year , that is to be automatically selected with a OLAP Variable . The standard one's provided by SAP are not satisfying my requirement,as they are getting populated with SAP Exit and I am not getting the ranges .I am planning to create a variable and use the processing type as Customer Exit and Populate it with ABAP code in respective Enhancement RSR00001.
Even Can I create a ABAP Routine ? Please suggest me which is better to do in respect to performance of dataload , will be really glad if anyone can provide some code for doing this as u might have faced the situation sometime .
I have checked with all the threads available , could get some idea but will be really thankful if u gimme some hints in writing the code , at Exit level and routine level .

How to veto a JComboBox selection change in ItemListener

I have a JComboBox whose current value is tied to some data cached in my application. I want to be able to examine the selection in an ItemListener attached to the JComboBox, and if the value is different than what I have cached, I want to ask the user if they really want to change because the change will render some other data as no longer valid. If the user wants to abandon the change, then I want to "abandon" or "veto" the selection change and reset it to the old value.
For instance, if the combo box has values "Foo" and "Bar" in it, and "Foo" is the cached selection, then the user goes and changes the selection to "Bar", I want to prompt them with something like "You have changed the value to Bar. Doing so will render XXX no longer valid. Do you want to continue?" -- if they cancel the change, then leave the selection as "Foo".
What is the best way to do this within ItemListener's itemStateChanged? Are there better ways to do this besides what I've outlined? I didn't see anything in "Core JFC" book or the JDK documentation that discussed this sort of thing.

It is a design problem and not realy a language problem... The way I create vetoing design it that a keep the previous selection of the JComboBox... upon action I look if the application can do the new computation...if not...ask the user... if true| run calculations if not set the JComboBox to the previous selection...

Reacting on selection-changes in a JTable...

I created an AbstractTableModel which is the basic for my JTable. Now I want to react on changes of the selection in the table. So I implemented a ListSelectionListener and overwrote the valueChanged()-method. But there is no reaction when the selection changes...is there a special trick with this method, or what else could be the reason for my problem ?

How to trap Selection change

Hi All,
I need to observer selection change. How do i go about it. In basicpersistinterface the kBPISelectionObserverImpl is bound with the panel. Similarly I want to call a method on selection change and not update some UI, so where do i need to put my ActiveSelectionObserver.
It can be just displaying an alert of selection change, but how do we trap it.
Please contribute your valuable suggestions.

You can aggregate your observer to any easily accessed boss that's permanently around. For example kSessionBoss already has 15 observers, kAppBoss has 7 observers. You would use a private IID, though. Invoke AutoAttach from a StartupShutdown service.
Given that, you're probably wrong architecture-wise by watching the selection without UI involved. There are plenty other notifications, besides there are also different mechanisms to watch the selection from closer on (e.g. SelectionExt). Can you give more details on your intent?

Trigger Material Delta Load by changing characteristic in R/3

Hello,
We added some functionallity to our R/3 and CRM system in order to map the R/3 characteristic data to CRM attributes (which are added to the product master). During the initial download of materials this works fine.
The delta download is triggered when I change something in the Basic Data or the Sales Org. data in transaction MM02 on the R/3 site, but NOT when I change something in the Classification tab (which holds the characteristics).
Does anyone know how to trigger the Material Delta Load when changes in the Classification tab are made?

Use object 'DNL_CUST_SALES' to download Customer Group from R/3 to CRM.
Use R3AS4 transaction to execute the same.
