  • Issues in deploying files on sun one application server 8.2.

    Hi,
    We have developed a project using java, JSP & Struts Framework. The database used is oracle 9.i. We have created a single war file as it is a small application. Initially we had deployed this project on Tomcat Apachee server and now we have migrated Sun One application server 8.2.
    During the deployment process we checked the "Verify" option. This option throws up certain errors for unknown reasons / resaons which we are not able to figure out. How ever if we do not check the "Verify" option the project gets deployed and runs sucessfully on the server.
    Here is an extract of the Log file:
    FAILED TESTS :
    Test Name : tests.web.WebArchiveClassesLoadable
    Test Assertion : All classes in this Web Archive are loadable. Please refer to J2EE 1.4 Specification Section #8.1.2 for further information.
    Test Description : For [ careers.war ]
    classes [ ] referenced by [ ] are not found
    Please either bundle the above mentioned classes in the application or use optional packaging support for them.
    Can some one throw some light onto this issue.

    can you run standalone verifier and let us know what results it produces? to run standalone verifier:
    .../bin/verifier <path to your war file>
    If it still produces those empty [] in the resukts, then please file a bug.

  • How to deploy .war on Sun ONE Web Server 6.0?

    Hi Everyone
    I have been trying unsuccessfully to deploy a .war application using Sun One Web Server 6.0.
    I only installed Sun ONE for the first time this morning and don't know much about web servers - yet.
    I deployed the web application from the web-based admin console. I'm not sure exactly what to put in the URI field. I just deployed it on the only existing "virtual server". I don't really know anything about virtual servers.
    Also: I installed with the defaults, what port should I try to access my app from?
    The documentation doesn't help much - so please don't give me a URL to some docs i won't understand.
    I miss the autodeploy offered by other tools. I have deployed this app before on other servers.
    thanks in advance

    The URI is the "virtual path" at which the web application is accessible. For example, if you deploy a web application at the URI /foo, you would access the web application by requesting http://server.example.com:port/foo/.
    Unfortunately, I can't tell you what port your Web Server instance is listening on as that's configured at install time. If you don't remember the port you selected, check the server.xml configuration file. The port is recorded in that file.

    I googled it and think some things are diff in war structure specially web.xml under WEB-INF dir
    Any suggestions ?

    From my knowledge
    Your web.xml should follow standard format.
    To run the webapplication on sun one u should have sun-web.xml along with web.xml.
    To get standard format of web.xml u can check tomcat installed default web applications that come with installation.
    Check for dtd also. You can copy the dtd by searching for web.xml in sun one installation directory and sun-web.xml is also available at same directory.

  • Deploying a web application on Sun One app server 7

    Hi,
    I am not able to deploy a web application on sun one server using Sun java studio.

    Can some one tell me the cause / solution of this problem.

    Hi Amol,
    Thank you very much for replying my question. The contents in my application.xml are:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE application PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD J2EE Application 1.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/application_1_3.dtd">

    </module>
    </application>
    The contents in jaxrpc-ri-runtime.xml are:

    service='{urn:testws/wsdl}Testws'
    port='{urn:testws/wsdl}testwsRPCPort'
    urlpattern='/testws'
    </endpoint></endpoints>
    I tried to access and check the web service using:
    http://servername:port/testws/testws
    The first testws is contextroot named and the second testws is url pattern, which was exactly like what you mentioned but I got "404 Not Found" error.
    By the way, using the same ear to deploy to Windows Sun ONE App. Server 7 env. and then using the same url, I can access the web service. I am wondering if there is any special for deploying Web Service on Unix Sun ONE app. Server 7 env. or I missed something?
    I hope I can hear from you soon.
    Thank you again,
    Jackie

    Hi Frank,
    A couple of things to cross check.
    1) Check the package structure of the war file. And cross check with the format given by SUN at
    http://docs.sun.com/source/816-7150-10/dwdeploy.html#69868
    2) Give more detail logs, and it is available at <deployed server instance>/logs/server.log.
    3) Deploy the war file without running the verifier, and see what is the output.
    If it wont help send the war file to me.
    Thanks,

  • Build a EJB/ Application with Sun One Studio and deploy to Weblogic

    Dear all,
    My boss require me to use Sun One Studio 4 update 1 to do the development, but
    I find it's a nightmare to deploy the EJB/ application to the WebLogic 6.1.
    I've already installed the weblogic plug-in in the Sun One Studio.
    During deploying I could not find any setting that ask me for the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
    So I think the deployment will fail.
    Is there any others tutorial or e-book that can help me to familiar with the deployment
    process?
    Many Thanks for all of you.

  • Sun ONE Studio 4 Update 1 does not allow to deploy a module

    I have created CMP entity beans based on a database schema captured using the jdbcodbc driver. Each one with its primary key and correctly validate.
    Then I have created a module and added to the module all CMP beans. Then when I attempt to deploy the module I got the following error: Conents are not valid for Sun ONE Application Server and in the log: Validation failed for EntityBeans.XConnectTableBean. Verify that all fields are mapped.
    The I went to the SUN ONE AS entity properties within the module. I changed the defualt value of Mapped Schema to the correct schema, but when I tryed to change the Mapped Primary Table to the correct table the OK button was grayed out with the following status message: Table CTPTable does not have a primary key. This is of course not true.
    Did I something wrong or this is a bug on Sun ONE Studio 4 Update 1?
    Is there any work around?
    Thanks in Advance

    Yes,
    It was a known bug and fixed with the newer realeses. Try to use the capture schema utility of the appserver (Install directory>/bin/capture-schema).

  • How to compile and deploy an ejb into Sun ONE app.server 7.0

    I am new to Sun ONE application server. I Have .java files and deployment descriptor files with me. How should proceed. When i tried to use asant it is saying that build.xml not found. I copied build.xml from some other directory to the current directory. Then it is saying that common.xml not found. Please help.
    Regards,
    Nagaraju.

    Hi,
    The build.xml file should be in a directory from where
    you are running the asant command.
    To resolve the common.xml file not found error,
    open your build.xml and check from which location the common.xml file is incuded.
    In the sample application it is four directories above
    the directory where build.xml is located.
    You can copy the common.xml in the current directory and then change the following in your build.xml
    <!ENTITY include SYSTEM "../../../../common.xml">
    to <!ENTITY include SYSTEM "common.xml">
    Hope this helps.

  • Remote Deployment W/O installing SUN One AS.

    Hi,
    I am trying to deploy an archive using wsdeploy.bat command. For this I need to have SUN One AS installed on my localmachine. Is it possible to issue the wsdeploy.bat command W/O installing the SUN One AS on my localmachine or I can copy only the needed jars (from the wsdeploy.bat) and issue the command.
    Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Vivek James.

    Because wsdeploy runs on a local server it is unlikely that you'll run it without a local installation. What you'll need to do is telnet to the box where the server is and proceed to call wsdeploy.bat. In order for this to work you have to ftp the EAR, WAR or whatever you want to deploy beforehand to the server filesystem. Maven uses Ant anyway so you guys could use the ant telnet task and the ant ftp task. Maven could just calls these from a maven.xml or from a plugin. We build a customised maven plugin to deploy portlet applications from any workstation to an integration server that follows the same process. It was OK.
    Cheers.

  • How would a corporation deploy Sun ONE Web Proxy Server?

    A corporation should deploy Sun ONE Web Proxy Server at the following key places:
    * The Internet gateway: Sun ONE Web Proxy Server deployed just behind the firewall facilitates access to the Internet and reduces response times and communications expense.
    * Major sub-network connections: Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Human Resources, and Finance departments might have their own subnetworks. An Sun ONE Web Proxy Server deployed at each subnet can reduce traffic on the corporate backbone.
    * Remote offices that are disconnected from the internal network: Sun ONE Web Proxy Server can provide a quick mechanism for replicating content when necessary, providing better company integration and increasing network performance without large capital and communications expense.
    * Internationally: Outside the United States, communications bandwidth is typically much more expensive, making Sun ONE Web Proxy Servers even more cost effective. Every international office can make use of an Sun ONE Web Proxy Server.
    * Outside the firewall as a Web server substitute in reverse proxy configuration: This protects information on the secure Web server behind the firewall and offers load balancing via caching.

  • Web Service deployment on Sun One 7

  • Deploying servlets in the Sun One Web Server 6.1

    Friends, Please let me know how to deploy servlets in the Sun One Web Server 6.1.
    Thanks in advance,
    Madan.

    You cannot get that behavior.
    When an SSL client and server negotiate the connection, the client sends a list of all the cipher suites it supports. From that list the server will pick the most secure cipher suite which it also supports (if the server doesn't support any of the cipher suites proposed by the client, the connection establishment will fail).
    RC4 (128bit) is more secure than 3DES (112 bit). Thus, a server will never pick 3DES above RC4_128 if both are valid options (i.e. when both client and server support both). If you really wanted to force use of 3DES you need to disable RC4_128 in the server (or all the clients; or both).
