Deploy Modbus I/O server in multiple library.

I'm using Labview 2009 with DSC. I learn about I/O server with network shared variable by experimenting with Modbus Fundamental project and Modbus Simulator project (LV built in examples). I run both projects in one computer, and the result is OK.
Then I try to make a little modification by adding another library and create modbus I/O server with some bound variables on Modbus Simulator project and Modbus Fundamental project. These new libraries and variables are match in both project, with properties same as original libraries, except different modbus address. I run the project, and the result is always "communication failure" on the new variables in Modbus Fundamental. I have try to deploy and undeploy and also restart the computer, and the result is same.
I try again with removing original library on both Fundamental and Simulator project, leaves only the new library i've added, the result is OK. This indicate that no problem with new library. Why if both libraries exist the "communication failure" always occurs.
Thanks

Hi Jareds,
Thank you for your response.
I think it would be clearer if you open my project file as attached. There are two project folders and screenshoot of the error message.
Yes, of course i open and run them simultanously since this experiment is to demonstrate modbus communication (master and slave).
As i said before,  actually i just made little modification on Labview's example project by add one library with modbus I/O and some variables.
Imagine that I want to communicate with multiple modbus devices (slave), in this project there are two modbus slave, ie. the first with address 1 (original as Labview's example) and the second with address 5 (new).
Hope you can understand what i mean.
Thanks

  • Deploy modbus I/O server as part of custom device build

    Hello,
We are attempting to get Modbus up and running as a custom device. From Labview we have managed to get modbus communication working by using Modbus IO servers.
When I package this with the custom device build we get the following error code when reading the bound variable:
    (0x8BBB0005)
    General Description:
LabVIEW: Unable to locate variable in the Shared Variable Engine. Deployment of this variable may have failed.
I am starting to worry if it is even possible to deploy the Modbus IO server together with the custom device? Any suggestions for other approaches?
    Best regards,
    Jørgen

    Thanks for your replies.
The Network Variable Engine is activated on the RT target.
I now tried to create programmatically the modbus IO server by using the Express VI. This, however, will not allow me to deploy the system definition file, as it reports that it is missing a .vi.
I have then tried to convert it to a regular .vi and bundle it with both the configuration and engine build specs, but the same message appears.
Am I misunderstanding how the .vi dependencies are managed by the build specifications? Or do I have to use something else than the express .vi to create the modbus IO.
    Best Regards,
    Jørgen
    EDIT: Added the error message:
The VeriStand Gateway encountered an error while deploying the System Definition file.
    Details:
    Error 1003 occurred at Project Window.lvlibroject Window.vi >> Project Window.lvlib:Command Loop.vi >> NI_VS Workspace ExecutionAPI.lvlib:NI VeriStand - Connect to System.vi
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW: The VI is not executable. This error may occur because the VI is either broken or contains a subVI that LabVIEW cannot locate. Select File>>Open to open the VI and verify that you can run it.
As soon as I remove the usage of the express.vi, it deploys just fine.

  • How to Deploy SSRS Reports(Sql Server 2008 R2) into Oracle Weblogic Application Server

    Hi Friends
One of my project requirement is Developing reports by using SSRS and deploying the reports into Oracle Wblogic Server
Could you please give me a Steps where we need to configure.
    Regards
    Hasthi.

    Hi Hasthi,
As per my understanding, I think we couldn’t directly deploy the SSRS report to Oracle Weblogic Application Server. We can deploy report to report server and SharePoint library. And we can display report to some applications, for example, windows application
and web application. Sorry for that I am not familiar with Oracle. So if your Oracle Weblogic Application Server support those Visual Studio application, then we can use report viewer control to display report in application. For more detail information about
report viewer control, please refer to the following document:

    Hope this helps.

  • Modbus I/O Server at Run-time

    Hello everyone.
I needed an software that communicates with a third part PLC (siemens) via Modbus (serial) protocol, and I'm getting some problems with stand-alone application.
    I did the following steps:
    1- Created a new project;
    2- Created a new library;
    3- Created a new I/O Modbus Server (serial master mode);
4- Created a variables bounded with a holding register (UInt16) from the PLC.
5- Put that variable on a loop (timed) just to get its value.
The program also deploys the created library at begin of execution and undeploys it at the end (working).
The (simple) project worked fine at my development machine (with LabVIEW 8.6 and Real-Time Module installed), so I created a stand-alone application and an installer of it.
Again, the installed software worked at my PC.
But, here comes the problem, when I try to run my program at another PC that do not have LabVIEW it doesn't work.
I have already installed the LV Runtime 8.6, tried to include it at my own installer (at Additional Installers tab - included Distributed System Manager and NI Variable Engine too), and still didn't work!
I also tried to install the software in another PC, that have LabVIEW 8.6 but not the RT module, and it didn't work as well.
The library and shared variable seems to be correctly deployed on SVE, so I think the error is related with the Modbus I/O Server.
So, what can I do to a software using Modbus I/O Server run in a machine without RT development?
There are some screenshots that I took while running the software at the both (develop. and client) machines above.

  • Deployment of OCS edge server

    Hello Guys,
We are planning to deploy OCS 2007 R2 Edge server in our site to enable federation.I need your suggestion whether it is possible in our environment or not.
    Our Setup:
    Domain Name: xxxx.zz.com
we have multiple sites under xxxx.zz.com like 1. London 2. Africa 3.India
In london site, already they deployed MS Lync 2013 Server[Frond End, Edge & Webapp Server] & using Exchange 2010 Server.
In India & Africa , we have exchange 2007 & OCS 2007 R2 Server. But we don't have a OCS Edge server for enabling Federation concept.
    My queries:
    1. Is it possible to deploy OCS 2007 Edge server in India,Africa Site? Because Londan site which is under our domain[xxxx.zz.com] already installed the MS Lync setup...
    2. What is the procedure to deploy OCS 2007 R2 Edge Server?
    please advice
    karthick

    Hi KarthickJP,
Based on my understanding it should be supported. And as Edwin said, after the OCS 2007 Edge was installed, you should
run the Topology Builder Merge wizard again.

  • Deployment issue on windows server 2008(64 bit)

    Hi all,
I am using crystal reports 2008 trial version for my web application. Its working fine in development environment but when I deploy application in windows server 2008 64 bit edition it shows following error:"An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required."
Is there any resolution available for this problem except for changing the IIS settings for 32 bit applications?

Essentially you will have to set IIS to 32 bit at the least.

  • Deploy to single managed server checked and greyed out while performing upgrade to EPM 11.1.2.4

    Hi Gurus,
We are trying to upgrade EPM from 11.1.2.2 to EPM 11.1.2.4 and have applied the maintenance release successfully.
    Issue:
When we are trying to configure EPM 11.1.2.4 and are providing the same Shared Service database details, at the summary screen, we are not able to uncheck the option "Deploy to Single Managed server" which is checked and is greyed out.
    We have tried the following:
    1. We updated the HSS_COMPONENT_PROPERTY_VALUE table  and updated the PROPERTY_NAME "isCompact" to false.
    2. Modified the config.xml file located at EPMSystem/config and epmsystem1/config to remove the property for compactState.
We are still having the issue where we are not able to uncheck the option for Compact Deployment. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

As it is a maintenance release and it deployed as a single managed server then you will not be able to change the deployment type when applying the maintenance release.
There is a procedure to change a deployment type from compact to single managed server that I created as an internal document.
you may want to give it a go but you would need to test this first as this was an in house test that I carried out.
Hyperion Planning - Version 11.1.2.2.300 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Goal
    The scenario:
EPM system 11.1.2.3 was configured and deployed as a single managed server compact deployment so that only one JVM was used for all products EPMServer0.
Later on, due to performance issues, the decision was made to go for using a JVM for each product and get rid of the compact deployment.
The administrator went ahead and redeployed the application servers individually into their own JVM.
However everytime the webserver is reconfigured, the weblogicCluster entry in the OHS file mod_wl_ohs has 2 servers, one for EPMSserver running on port 9000 and another server running on the product default port (as if it was being load balanced)
    The aim:
It is clear that initial compact deployment has not been cleared from the EPM environment and the aim in this exercise is to clear the registry and the file system so that the compact deployment is removed fromthe EPMenvironment and we are left with the desired configuration Single JVM deployment for earch web application.
    Solution
    Caution:
Make sure that you take a backup of the following:
    - TheFoundation Services database schema backup
    - Take a backup of the following folders:
    \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\FOUNDATION1\httpConfig\ohs\config\OHS\ohs_component
    \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers
    \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\config\fmwconfig\servers
    Disclaimer:
This was tested in House and it worked for this specific environment and it may not work for your environment. So the suggestion is to test first in a development environment and make sure that you take the appropriate backups in case it does not go according to plan.
    Use at your own discretion.
    Procedure:
1- Run the epmsys_registry to generate the Registry report
2- Search through the report for the word applicationServerDeployment with a corresponding value of configured and take the ObjectID number down for any entry of applicationServerDeployment that has a value of Configured
    i.e:
    Instance Tasks Configuration (INSTANCE_TASKS_CONFIGURATION)
    Object ID:   e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7adf
3- use the object ID of each entry you have taken down throughout the Registry HTML Report to manually set it back to Pending using the following procedure:
Start a command prompt and set the working directory to
                     \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\bin
                    run the command:
                     epmsys_registry.bat updateproperty #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7adf/@applicationServerDeployment=Pending
Repeat this command for each ObjectID that has its applicationServerDeployment
                     property set to Configured
4- rerun the epmsys_registry.bat to generate the Registry HTML report and search for applicationServerDeployment in the newly generated report to make sure that they are all set to Pending and there none missed (very Important).
5- Search the registry HTML report this time for EPMServer0 which is the default serverName given to the single managed server deployment (there will be multiple entries)
Take note of the first ObjectID entry in the section header: for example
    WORKSPACE_WEBAPP (WORKSPACE_WEBAPP)
    Object ID:   e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3
    - Start a command prompt and set the working directory to
                     \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\epmsystem1\bin
    - run the command:
                     epmsys_registry.bat view #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3
-Note the Parents ID in the output:
    For example:
    Parent 1
    NAME -  WORKSPACE_LWA
    ID -  e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd0
    TYPE -  LOGICAL_WEB_APP
    Parent 2
    NAME -  HOST:BACHVMPS3TR
    ID -  e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7ffe
    TYPE -  HOST
    - Note the single child ID:
    For Example:
    Child 1
    NAME -  WebLogic 10
    ID -  e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7fd6
    TYPE -  APP_SERVER
Now run the following command to remove the Link between Parent and child:
    epmsys_registry removelink #parentObjectID #childObjectID
In this example that would translate to:
To remove the single child1 link to the WORKSPACE_WEBAPP (#e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3 ):
    epmsys_registry removelink #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3 #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7fd6
And do the following To remove the link between WORKSPACE_WEBAPP (#e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3 ) and Parent1 and Parent2:
    epmsys_registry removelink #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd0
    #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3
    epmsys_registry removelink #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7ffe
    #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3
    - Now that the link has been removed, delete the WORKSPACE_WEBAPP component using its ObjectID :
    epmsys_registry deletecomponent #parentObjectID
    In this example:
    epmsys_registry deletecomponent #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd3
    - Delete also the Parent representing the WORKSPACE_LWA
    epmsys_registry deletecomponent #e4b3a86a82c26941S32ef81a1455fe48473S7bd0
Note:So we have now deleted the WEBAPP and LWA for workspace.
6- Repeat steps in section No 5 for every WEBAPP with EPMServer0
7- Start the Weblogic admin console and login
Then go to the left panel and Expand Environment -> Server
Click on Lock & Edit -> Select EPMServer0 -> click on Delete and confirm
    Activate Changes and Log off
8- Stop the weblogic admin console server
9- Go to the following location and delete the folder EPMServer0:
    \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers
Delete also EPMServer0 from the following location:
    \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\config\fmwconfig\servers
10- Start a command prompt and delete the Windows service that was created for EPMServer0 (if using Microsoft Windows Operating System):
Right click on the service 'OracleHyperion EPM Server - Java Web Application (epmssystem1)' and get its service name i.e: HyS9EPMServer_FOUNDATION1
Run the following command: sc delete HyS9EPMServer_FOUNDATION1
11- Launch the EPMSystem configurator and redeploy the web application server to their own JVM
12- Go to the following location \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\FOUNDATION1\httpConfig\ohs\config\OHS\ohs_component and rename the file mod_wl_ohs.conf to mod_wl_ohs.conf.old.
13- Copy the unconfigured mod_wl_ohs.conf file from the location C:\Oracle\Middleware\ohs\ohs\conf to the location \Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\FOUNDATION1\httpConfig\ohs\config\OHS\ohs_component
14- Run the EPM System Configurator again and configure the WebServer to reconfigure the OHS configuration file mod_wl_ohs.conf.
Once done then open the mod_wl_ohs.conf file and make sure that there are no servers configured with Port 9000.
15- Start the services and test the workspace

    Hi,
    >>New deploy child domain certificate server didn't publish root trust certificate to the client
Is this an enterprise root CA or standalone CA?
If it is an enterprise root CA, it will automatically use Group Policy to propagate its certificate to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities certificate store for all users and computers in the domain. If it is an standalone CA, we can configure GPO
    to distribute the certificate.
Regarding how to use policy to distribute certificates, the following article can be referred to for more information.
    Use Policy to Distribute Certificates
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772491.aspx
We can run command gpupdate/force to immediately update group policy and then we can refresh the certificates in certmgr.msc to see if the certificate will come up.
Besides, for certificate questions, we can also ask for suggestions in the following forum.

I am developing the portal in development server, if I want to deploy it into production server, how can I do that ?
Is there any docs on this ?
    Thank you very much,

Assuming you are working with Portal 10.1.4, please see the following link for this documentation. It would also help in better planning for your deployment scenarios if you can briefly skim over the two chapters before the one in this link, specially to see what would be your options to lay it out on multiple environments.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398438.aspx
Note: it is not supported to install Lync Server in the same computer with DC, Exchange Server and SharePoint Server.
If you want to deploy Lync Server, you’d better read the guide firstly before deploy it:

For the deployment of Exchange 2013 and SharePoint 2013, you can also post case on Exchange and SharePoint forum, and there are more experts will help you:
