Deploy tool for weblogic 6.1
Hello all,
I have used j2ee refrence server and am really new to weblogic,
i am not adble to find the UI for the deploy tool like we have in t he the j2ee
server ,... do we have one in the WLS6.0 ??
if yes plz tell me the steps where i can find it ?
Thanks
Sunil
Sunil,
Unfortunately there isn't one for WLS 6.0. Are you using an IDE ? I would suggest
looking at both JBuilder and VisualCafe. They come with a deploy tool for WLS.
We have also addressed this issue in WLS 6.1. Please look at the DDE Editor -
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/programming/environment.html#ConsoleDDE. We have
defined various ANT tasks like DDInit which in conjunction with the DD Editor will
allow to to construct and deploy applications on WLS>

Performance Tools for Weblogic
Hello All!
I need help! I am trying to find out which of the tools is better
suited for me to be able to do performance testing of an application
under load.
I am looking for a tool that can provide me detailed application
performance metrics. Seems like both Insight and Perform Assure can do
this job for me.
If any of you have had experience with using performance tools such as
Prescise Insight or Sitraka's Perform Assure I would appreciate any
input you might have on your usage experience of these tools.
Also if you know of any other tools that might provide similar
information such as the above tools, that would be really helpful.
Thanks a bunch!
Neil.Cameron,
Thanks for your input! Sounds like you are probably using these
products.
I saw the PerformAssure demo. Their GUI is very slick!! PerformAssure
does some cool stuff like comparing EJB metrics with system metrics
and were able to show me the EJB method that was causing a problem
with a petstore application.
I heard about this new tool from a company called Performant
(http://www.performant.com). I am signed up for a demo with these
folks. Will let you all know what I find.
I looked at Wily site and didn't persue them as they seem to be
deployable in the production environment. Our application is not live
yet, but we want to be able to make sure it can handle good load ;)
Thanks!

I haven't had a chance yet to look at Sitraka's software, but Precise
Indepth/J2EE and Wily Introscope are both pretty popular with Weblogic, and
I think they both do a good job of what they do.

Deployment tool for weeblogic server8.1
Hi,
Iam New for EJB. I downloades weblogic server8.1 .
I want to deplo my application on this server.
Any body suggest me which software should i use for deploying and creating .ear file.
ur help will be highly appriciated.
thanks,
Ajoyhey
Weblogic comes with a built in ANT.
You can find it in the following folder
[BEA_HOME]\weblogic81\server\lib\ant
the best one for you will be to run the example server, then the second step should be to build an ear file using the built-in ANT on the samples which comes along with installation of Weblogic.
the build file build.xml provided by Weblogic will do creation of EAR file and as well as deployment and starting Weblogic server too.
Try out. Its quite simple

We developped an online application in javaFX1.3 and we distributed it as a webstart application for windows, linux and mac 32 bits. Worked Well !
After the eol announcement of 1.3 we started to migrate our application client to javafx2.1. It works well for windows users using the deployment tools you provide.
JavaFX2.1 is GA for MAC as we can use the SDK. But we can't invite mac users to test our application by webstart. Do you know when the JRE will be available with deployment features for mac ? Also, we wondered if the JRE will be available for 32 bits ?
BR,Web Start and Java plugin will be supported in JavaFX 2.2 for Mac and Linux, which will be released as part of Java SE 7u6.The roadmap doesn't mention tight integration of JavaFX with the JDK with concurrent Mac OSX/Linux/Windows support until JDK8 in late 2013.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javafx/overview/roadmap-1446331.html
Does that mean that you guys are actually a year ahead of schedule on this integration? :-)
Note that we do not plan to release a 32-bit version of Java SE / JavaFX on Mac OS XI noted that Chrome is only 32bit for Mac (http://jdk7.java.net/macportpreview/releasenote.html).
Does this mean that a plugin for Chrome on the Mac won't be able to be provided until Chrome release a 64bit version for Mac? -
Deployment Tool, for 6.40 SP7
I just installed EP 6.0 SP6 on NetWeaver 6.40 SP7. When run deploytool.bat, a popup window tells error:
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR6
I have a choice of cancel, try again, continue.
The flash screen shows on the back: SAP J2EE Engine 630 Deployment Tool.
BTW, I was using NetWeaver 6.20 and the deploytool was working fine.
Has anybody run into this problem before? Any suggestion or help is appreciated.
thanks
Dave WangHi,
I had exactely the same problem and found the solution here:
http://listserv.sap.com/pipermail/linux.general/2005-May/004673.html
After I changed the entry in /etc/hosts, everything went smooth.

Code Review Tool for Weblogic 8.1
I am working with WLS 8.1. Can anyone suggest plugin or code review tool for reviewing from workshop?
I have used PMD open source plugin with eclipse for reviewing java files. I couldnt use it for .ejb files generated from workshop. Pls suggest some procedure for this.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
PooraniRed Samurai is not avaiable for 11.1.2 at the moment as Oracle changes the way extensions plug into jdev :-(.
Have you tried out the jdev internal audit tools (under Build->'Audit projectname' and follow the dialogs)?

While I'm able to deploy without the CMP 1-1 relationship, the moment I introduce the 1-1 relationship, I get this error. Database used is Oracle 10g XE.
I have been battling this error for more than a day now. Kindly help me fix this.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
VinodHi,
I was able to figure out the root cause. I was using the primitive data type "int" for primary key and foreign key for one of the beans in the relationship. After I changed it to "Integer" wrapper type, the issue got resolved.

Do i need to set Resource Ref's in teh deploy tool for a CMP bean?
Hi,
I have a CMP bean which i have deployed, it doesnt work, in the server log shows the following.
[#|2005-03-10T14:13:21.046+1030|WARNING|sun-appserver-pe8.1|javax.enterprise.system.container.ejb.entity.finder|_ThreadID=16;|JDO74004: Bean 'PersonEntityBean' method ejbFindByPrimaryKey:

Please examine the SQLException for more information.
NestedException: java.sql.SQLException: No database selected
THe database has been set up in the connection pools, i thought this was enough, as there is no coded names in the implementation code, am i wrong?
how do i get my CMP bean to communicate with the database?
do i need to set up any references?
thank you for your time
Gavin. You set the JNDI name of the JDBC resource in deploytool. To do this, select your EJB JAR, select the General pane, and click Sun-specific Settings. Enter the JNDI name of your JDBC resource, and then set up the mappings & relationships. The J2EE 1.4 Tutorial's Container Managed Persistence Examples chapter has several examples that show how to do this.

Searching for a deployment tool for Developer Applications
hey ladies & gentlemen.....I wish that I should've a single setup.exe file to install my appliation developed in Oracle Developer,in addition it should also install the Oracle Database after copying the runtime application files. In this way I wish to facilitate my clients so that they should not call me to re-install the client application if he needs to reinstall the application after a system or windows crash recovery,n he should perform it just like installing another appliation like MS-Office etc. although I know that installing the Oracle Database is a very technical matter, yet I'm looking to fulfill my wish:).thanx.
You can't deploy a Forms application as an .exe. You need to install the runtime and then all the FMX/PLL/MMX files. There are tools that may help you package this up but not to a .exe file - this is why a web deployed application has advantages over client/server.

Deploying OIF for Oracle Weblogic Server
Hi all,
I'm facing a problem deploying OIF for Weblogic. I've installed Weblogic 10.0.0.3 and OIF 11g.
I want to know the procedure of creating an IdP and a SP using weblogic server.
Please help!!!Hi,
Please check this.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e12002/federation.htm#sthref37
When you install Oracle Identity Federation 11g Release 1 (11.1.1), a WebLogic Managed Server is created and the Oracle Identity Federation J2EE application is installed on it. If you install Oracle Identity Federation in a new Oracle WebLogic Server administration domain by selecting the Create Domain option, the Fusion Middleware Control management component is also deployed.
Hope this helps.

Tool generated files missing after upgrade to Oracle Workshop for Weblogic
Hi,
I'm trying to migrate a beehive/netui web-application from Bea Workspace Studio 1.1 to Oracle Workshop for WebLogic 10R3. The application builds successfully, but when I access the application, I get a "Missing Struts Module Configuration" error.
I checked the build folder, and discovered that several tool-generated files where missing. Entire _pageflow folder is missing and all of the controls related files are missing.
Anyone have an idea of what is going on here?
RuneRune,
Could you provide details on the migration process you followed ?
Also are you trying to develop and deploy against WLS 10.3 ?

EJB EAR deployment for weblogic 9.2
Hello!
I already have the EJB3.0 application which I would like to deploy. After preparing the .ear file I tried to deploy it with the Administration console. I received the error message, and I found a workaround : [url http://forums.bea.com/bea/thread.jspa?threadID=600016992&tstart=0]here (@dev2dev). When I tried the console deployment, I received the following error message:

Also, is there a document describing the complete deployment process for wl9.2?
Thank you.

Office Deployment Tool Config for 2013 Pro Plus
Hi!
I'm trying to update an installation of Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013 and wonder if somebody could help me with the correct Product ID to use for the Office Deployment Tool configuration.xml file? Almost all the examples seem to
use O365ProPlusRetail.
The configuration documentation here discusses only Office 365: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219426%28v=office.15%29.aspx
But it links to this page, which lists product IDs, but no description (thank you not very much!): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2842297/en-us
There's a "ProfessionalRetail" there; elsewhere I've seen a "ProPlusRetail" which isn't listed there, and I'm hoping that if I get the right Product ID I can get this cantankerous update process to work!
Thanks much,
RobHi,
Microsoft have used some rather confusing product marketing terms, which makes it hard to get clear, and also to be clear, when it comes to this release of Office :(
Office 2013ProfessionalPlus - installation uses the classic setup.exe + MSI engine. Can be updated via WSUS.
Office365ProPlus - installation uses the new ODT, and results in C2R virtualized "installation". Can't be updated via WSUS.
So, if you're using the ODT, then you're not using Office2013ProfessionalPlus..
Reference for the Product element:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219426(v=office.15).aspx#BKMK_ProductElement
Reference including Retail Product elements:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2842297/en-au
NB: the update process will probably be cantankerous even after you get it working ;)
