Deployed project seems to fail on different machine

Hi, I deployed my project on my webserver and it worked great on the developing machine.. I accessed the page from any computer using IP/projectname. I moved the project to a different server and added it to the web server but it seems to fail.. Everything is loading except for the charts.. they just come out empty.. I am using Webservices which run on the development server. Any help would be Great... I thought I would need a crossdomain file butI'm not sure how to specify the domain... the web url is http://IP/eemtwebservice1/Service1.asmx . If i DO need to add a crossdomain policy how would i do it given the previous url?? and whatelse do i need to do?? thanks!!

I am working on a bench setup with different intruments controlled by GPIB (HP E3631 power supply, Keithley 2400 etc). We are using teststand, which calls the dll generated from Labwindows/CVI environment. Our project is recently transferred to a different machine and now the communication (initiate command) fails with the HP E3631 and rest everything is working fine. I also tried running NI spy and I see nothing when I execute the instructions seperately for HP E3631.
Can someone please help me to narrow down where the possible problem can be ( everything remains the same from the old machine to new machine). ?

The driver that is used on both the machines is exactly the same copy. As i told earlier a Labwindows/CVI generated dll is called from the Teststand program. The only difference is that the machine_1 (working with E3631) have the Labwindows/CVI version 5.5 installed and the other machine has version 5.0. I am also attaching the generated Spy logs for both the machines:
1) Machine 1 has instructions for both the Kiethley and E3631 in the spy file.
2) Machine 2 has instructions only for the Keithley and it fails when it reaches the initiate instruction for E3631.
Error code > (-1074135040 : User defined)

If the Library folder is not shown in your login directory, then open a Finder window, and press command+J. This will open a Finder View Options panel. On it, there is a selectable entry to Show Library Folder. Once this is selected, the Library folder will appear. Now, follow the instructions in my May 6 post. You will have to right-click on com.apple.iWork.Pages and choose Show Package Contents, before continuing.

SQL SERVER 2014 - Project consistency check failed. The following inconsistencies were detected: package.dtsx. has a different ProtectionLevel than the project.

I am getting the following error when I right click on a package in solution explorer and execute using SQL Server 2014:

Luckily my solution only has 10 packages. I have verified and re-verified that everyone is set to dontsavesensitive.

What on earth is going on here? I am using windows authentication and have no need for the package to save any sensitive information, nor should there be any.
Can someone please help me out here?

Just as the error message said, the exactly issue is that the package package.dtsx has a different ProtectionLevel property value than the project.
So please double check the value of project ProtectionLevel property, like DontSaveSensitive, then make sure all packages in the project use the same ProtectionLevel value.
If there is still an error message indicated that some packages use a different value, please right-click the indicated package to select View Code, then make sure there is a line like below(the DontSaveSensitive
protection level corresponds to the value of 0):
DTS:ProtectionLevel="0"

B&C Error when deploying lots of updates "Failed to delete policies compiled by TaskSequence (0x80041032)"

We are having an issue with a Win7 B&C that I can't seem to get around at the moment.
The B&C TS goes something like this :
Apply Image - Win7 vanilla install that has been captured with all deployed updates on it.
Install Standard Apps - Various standard apps including Office and Lync etc.
Apply Updates - There are a number of these because of the amount of apps installed.
Prepare Config Manager Client & OS

The TS seems to fail at the Prepare Config Manager Client stage and gives the error :
Failed to delete policies compiled by TaskSequence (0x80041032)
I've read around about the problem and it seemed to suggest that this is a problem when there are too many updates being applied but it was solved with SP1. We are running 2012 SP1 CU3 but we are still seeing the problem.
Some of the posts suggest dividing the B&C TS into multiple TS's to solve this but we have already divided it into 4 different sections and are seeing the issue still. I am also tried offline servicing to reduce the number of updates but as this
doesn't do Office updates etc it's only of limited use.
Below is the smsts.log file (section with the errors).
Is anyone else seeing this issue or have any thoughts on what it might be?

Why differences in the way different machines handle the same code??

OK, I've posted some other threads re some difficulties in getting the same code to function identically on, not only different platforms, but even on different machines running Windows!
Here's another, and I would really appreciate an explanation:
I have a tree control. Per the user's request, I made the right button function the same way it does on MS File Explorer: When they right click, the currently selected nodes are compared to the node they clicked over. If they clicked over a selected node, then the context menu for the nodes selected is displayed. If they clicked over a different node, then the selection is changed to the new node and the context menu displayed. If they right click over the tree control, but not a node in the tree, then the selection is cleared and no context menu is displayed.
Works great on my machine.
However, on some machines, no context menu is displayed, nor is the node selected... UNLESS THEY ALREADY HAVE A NODE SELECTED. I.e., if they have no nodes in the tree selected, they cannot display the context menu by right clicking on a node, nor does the selection change to the node they right click over. It only works if they already have something selected.
My app is distributed as an executable jar file and I am distributing the JRE with it, so there are no class path issues or differences in the JDK. Basically, my problem can be paraphrased as: Why doesnt' Swing behave the same way on different machines...? At least why not the same on the eame machine.
It's driving me nuts to think that I've resolved some UI glitch only to find out that, no, it's only fixed on some machines, not others.

Well, I normally develop on OSX and then deploy to Windows. But, this last build I have switched to Windows XP. The kinds of differences I am seeing are subtle: what triggers a repaint of the UI and now, it seems, what events are getting triggered by mouse clicks.
My deployment is an executable jar file, therefore it uses the manifest in the jar, not any classpath variables. I deploy an entire JRE along with the app, and the bat file that launches the app ensures that is the JAVA_HOME I'm using.
I can only guess that it's some underlying difference in versions of the platform and OS that causes this.
Here's the entire code for this latest issue re the popups:

The nodeMenu.activate call is just used to check whether or not certain menu options need to be enabled or disabled before displaying the menu. My theory right now is that, on some of these machines (all windows), a right click of the mouse is not generating a mouse event unless they have already something selected. I don't think it's a focus issue, because if they left click to select a node, and then ctrl-left click to de-select it, the right button then no longer generates a popup menu. They must select a node, then right click. Maybe there's no mouse event generated, or maybe this line is failing on some machines?:

I am a Adobe Flex coder tossed into a Silverlight project trying to get a JavaBean to work.
My task is to get a DGN file to display in my Silverlight app. I've attempted to solve this by using AutoVue as a web service returning an image and displaying that image on my control. This, of course is working great on the last developers machine. However, I have been totally unsuccessful in installing it on the clients server. I have no real idea what I'm doing with the Java/GlassFish/AutoVue section of this project. Any help would be greatly appreciated
--I've have Glassfish v2.1.1 installed and seems to be working correctly.
--I've used C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0_21\bin\jar.exe" -cvf AutoVueWS.war -C AutoVueWS .
to compile the war file.

You know, I don't know. My only goal is to take this DGN file and turn it into something I can view in Silverlight.
The current path, I think, is:
IIS => Grab the DGN. Pass the DGN to Glassfish\AutoVue bean, I think that passes it on to the jVue Server. Which passes back a PNG.
All I want is an image of the dgn. I suspect "I'm doing it wrong".
As I've been handed a couple of directories:
C:\oracle\AutoVueWS\
C:\oracle\AutoVueWS\autovue_webservices <= this contains the WAR file I've been trying to install on glassfish
C:\oracle\AutoVueIntegrationSDK
and
C:\Program Files\jVue
from which I run "C:\Program Files\jVue\bin\jvueserver.bat"
This, of course, is working on my development machine. But I am unable to duplicate on a test Virtual Machine.
Can I just talk to the jVueServer directly? Is there a simpler approach given the tools they have?

I also just encountered this error while trying to deploy my feature from Visual Studio 2010. I found the solution for my situation. Perhaps it may help others as well.
To see if your problem has the same cause as I encountered, open up the 14 hive and go to 14/template/features/<your-project-name_your-feature-name>. In this folder you will find a file Feature.xml. Open it up with notepad. On the second line
you will find the XML node Feature. Scroll to the right untill you see the XML attribute ReceiverClass. This
should show you a namespace, i.e. KoenZomers.MyProject.Branding.Features.Web.BrandingEventReceiver. In my situation it didn't show a namespace, but instead the following: $SharePoint.Type.<some-guid>.FullName$. If this is the same for
you, read on as this might be the solution to your problem. If it does already show a namespace, this probably won't help you.
This problem is caused because of a bug in Visual Studio 2010. It should replace the guid to match the guid found above the class declaration of your event receiver. For example:

Probably because I recreated the event receiver class, it did generate a new Guid tag with a new Guid above my class declaration, but it did not update the feature file to reference this new guid. To do this manually, open up the folder on your development
machine where your Visual Studio project files reside. In it you will find a subfolder named Features. Open it. In that folder you fill find subfolders with the names of your features as given in Visual Studio. Open up the one containing the non functional
event receiver. In that folder you will find a file called <feature-name>.feature. Right click on it and choose Open with. Select to open it with notepad. On the second line you will find the XML node feature. Scroll to the right until you see the XML
attribute receiverClass in the same line. Make sure the value of this XML node is built up using the following syntax: $SharePoint.Type.<guid-from-event-receiver-class-declaration>.FullName$. So in the above example it would be $SharePoint.Type.ff9717e0-05c4-4e7e-9349-3f31d3919b9c.FullName$.
Save the file, close notepad. Close the solution in Visual Studio. Once closed, reopen the solution. Do a deploy of your solution. It should work this time. If you check the feature.xml file in the 14 hive now, it does display a namespace. This
made it work for me.

Which version of SQL Server are you using? Are you deploying to a server with multiple instances of SQL Server installed? Are you deploying the packages to different server?
if so does the destination server has Integration services installed ?
Deploying from the command line. In most large organizations, deployments are done by a DBA or systems administrator. In such environments, it's a great practice to use deployment scripts as much as possible to make the deployments
more manageable as the number of SSIS packages increases. In SQL Server 2012, you can deploy SSIS packages using the command-line tool ISDeploymentWizard.exe. This tool works with the .ispac file, which is created in the project's BIN directory when you build
the project in SQL Server Data Tools. The .ispac file for a project typically contains the following:
The project's manifest
All the packages belonging to the project
The parameter file (Project.params)
If you want to see the file's contents, you can change the extension from .ispac to .zip, then open it in Windows Explorer.
To deploy the Test_Project project from the command line, you first need to copy the .ispac file to a shared folder. Then, in a Windows command shell, navigate to the folder containing the .ispac file and execute this ISDeploymentWizard command:

\isdeploymentwizard.exe" /S /ST:File
/SP:Test_Project.ispac /DS:<SQL Server Instance Name>

Firefox is rendering a page in quirks mode on one machine, but not on a different machine.

I have two machines that are going to the same website. One machine renders the page correctly, the other enters quirks mode and nothing appears on the screen.
The machine that is not working is running OS X 10.6.4. The one that is working is running 10.4.11.
I tried deleting the preferences, and reinstalling Firefox.
This is a brand new install of the OS and was the first time we tried access this website.

The problem is due to a call to getVolumeInformation. It works on my desktop but not on a different machine which has different drives and partitions etc. I'm returning the file system type of the fixed drives, however on certain fixed drives it fails. At first I thought it was failing on logical drives but that does not seem to be the case.This is nonsense in terms of your original post.
Perhaps you meant to say that some of your native methods work and others dont? And the one and only way that they don't work is because you get the link error? If yes then I already told you what the reason is.
Conversely there is some other failure, which has nothing to do with a link error. And thus it is pointless to continue to discuss this unless you actually explain what is happening.

Same float code compiled differently on different machines

Scenario: same project build on different machines. and then both the application executed on
same machine .. giving slightly different results..(like 23.07499 to 23.07500)
project involves many float operations. project build on vs2013. c++
there is difference oberved in the final value of float calculations.. like 23.07499 to 23.07500
seems , Same float code compiled differently on different machines, any input

Do you get consistent results with the same executable each time you
run it?
Assuming you do, and the only difference is the EXEs, what's the
difference between them - there must be something. Have a look at "How
to compare binary images of the same project builds"

Working/deployed project suddenly stops

I've had the odd experience that a project stopped working... in different stages (?)
First I could not "run" the project from studio2 ... deploying did not work
so I created a .war and deployed through the admin console.
Now I've suddenly could not start the project form the internet.
Going back in I found that I could not any longer deploy through the admin console ...? The project seems to install but "launch"ing only states the fact ... app not available ?????????
So back to studio .. and now I suddenly could deploy... although the .dll I use didn't any longer get loaded ( but I am shortly !)
This is though a problem to be solved ... so I installed the .dll into the servers lib-dir. and now the internet access works again.
Is there a way to totally clean out a studio installation in ms windows xp.
I would like to get any registry entries removed, any references to the installation removed ... but keep my projects.-)�
I simply dont like the idea from above that admin is confused as to where to install ??
( I've just battled a bad studio2 installation/deinstallation AND a visual studio. net ditto. And I like to be able to tell that strudio2/java is much better than the competition.)

Did you try to:
* cd <creator_home>/bin
* pe-start.bat -reset
That will delete/recreate the creator domain in the application server. I believe that will fix all the deployment problems;-)
BUT be aware that anything deployed to that domain will be lost!

Custom winsxs in deployment project

Inherited a VS2008 ActiveX project whose installation fails regsvr32 because of "side by side" error. Have set of DLLs and manifest and catalog that I believe will resolve "side by side" error. But how to tell setup and deployment project
to install the set of DLLs and manifest and catalog into target system Windows/winsxs folder? Thanks.

Carl, thanks for your time. I had seen and read the "Deploy a Setup and Deployment Project" and while it describes something close to what I need, it's not quite what I need. That page shows how to install an EXE and/or DLL that is dependent on
a Microsoft Merge Module, the merge module being found in Windows\winsxs.
I actually need to install some DLLs into Windows\winsxs.
I inherited the DLLs and associated CAT and MANIFEST files as well as matching CAT and POLICY redirection files. I need to get my setup project to install the DLLs and the POLICY redirection in Windows\winsxs but cannot find any documentation describing
how to do that.

I need help using the impdb utility on a different machine to the export...

Hi all,
I have recieved an export from a ClearQuest database, built on Oracle.
It's a 6GB file xxx_full_dpdump.dmp, with a corresponding .log.
This was exported from a different Oracle instance on a different machine.
I'd like to import this dump file into my Oracle instance.
I tried to use imp, and received the following error: IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header
After a bit of reading, I think this may becase I should be using impdp.
BUT... when trying to use impdp, I'm not sure how to structure the syntax? specifically, what is DIRECTORY?
As this is export is from a different machine, the directory that it was exported to is not on my machine.
When running ...
impdp username/password directory=MyDirectoryThatContainsTheDmp DUMPFILE=xxx_full_dpdump.dmp
... I receive:
ORA-39002: invalid operation
ORA-3970: Unable to open the log file
ORA-3907: directory name MyDirectoryThatContainsTheDpm is invalid

So I've now granted the right permissions, it seems and The Impdp now executes (Hoorar!)
The command I'm running is:
impdp username/password directory=DATA_PUMP_DIR dumpfile=xxx_full_dpdump.dmp REMAP_SCHEMA=MYUSER:Test;
... where MYSUER is who I'm logged in as running this command; and Test is just a word, I haven't created anything called this myself.
BUT ... I get a few thousand errors around
- Cannot add file ... file has an Oracle Managed Files file name
- CREATE USer ..... failed tablespace XXX does not exist
- lots of "already exists" errors for users and tables.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I though these would all be created as new items under MYUSER.

API Setup - Different machine?

Just starting out here with the API and trying to get my bearings. There doesn't seem to be a lot of good documentation on things. In fact, I can't even get a good list of what the API can and cannot do. If anyone knows of such thing, please let me know.
But my question is in regards to a development environment. I've seen the docs for setting up eclipse and such, but one thing I cannot figure out is if I can develop and test on a different machine that that on which OIM is running? Can I create my project folder with the /config /lib whatever folders on a DIFFERENT machine than OIM?

Yes you can definitely do that. See an OBE for 'Running OIM API's through Eclipse*. For that you have to copy all OIM specific files in the Eclipse workspace and then this as a whole behaves as a design console. So you have no limitation to run it on OIM server machine.
For docs, the only OIM API's docs available are with the installation docs. They are not descriptive at all. They just tell you what API expects and what it returns. Nothing very clear. Many a times you need to hit-n-try to see the results.
