How to attach a java bean in forms6i
Hi,
I am new to oracle forms6i. i just want to ask on how to attach a java bean to forms6i.i did putting the full directory path to the implementation class but it has an error, bean not found. what should i do?
Your help is highly appreciated.The implementation class should contain the package and class name of the bean e.g. com.groundside.beans.DateFieldBean, not a directory location. The bean itself is loaded from the JAR files specified to be downloaded with the applet.
If you are running client server then you can't use JavaBeans this way - it's a web only feature. -
Hi,
Can a java bean be called from a form executing in Client server environment.
If yes how can it b achieved?
Thanks & Regards,
AbhijeetNot if you need to use any graphical component of it. For this you'll need to run on the Web.
If you just want to invoke the logic of the bean try using the Java importer. -
Problems with a java bean in Weblogic 5.1
Hello,
I am having a problem deploying a java bean in Weblogic 5.1:
I have been given a .class and a .jar file for a java bean (not an EJB). I
placed the .class file into e:\temp\WEB-INF\classes and added the following
line to my weblogic.properties file:
weblogic.httpd.webApp.testApp=e:/temp/
I have also updated the web.xml file in the WEB-INF directory as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web
Application 1.2//EN"
"http://java.sun.com/j2ee/dtds/web-app_2_2.dtd">
<web-app>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>EdIface</servlet-name>
<jsp-file>test.jsp</jsp-file>
</servlet>
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>EdIface</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>EdIface</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>
</web-app>
When I try to access my http:\\server:port\testApp\test I get an "Error
500 - internal server error".
Has anyone had experice with deploying a java bean with jsut the .class and
.jar file? Where should I put the .jar file?
I appreciate any advice!

Deploying Java Beans in forms 6i
Hi,
Can anyone let me know that whether forms 6i alone is
sufficient to deploy Java Beans, because i tried deploying and
had broblems in doing.
Thanks
RaviYou'll also need a JVM in which the beans will execute....
If have your Forms deployed on iAS then you will have enerything
you need.

Forms Product Management -
Hi Guys,
I am calling java bean from oracle Forms6i (implementation
class property set to bean class). This java bean in turn
calling some JNI methods written in C. The application server
(Forms6i) is hanging at the point of calling the JNI method.
Is oracle Forms6i supports all java functionality (JNI here)
and if so how to solve the problem ?
Any pointers or tips in this regard is highly appreciated ?
Thanks & Regards
Chandra MohanTo call Java from forms:
look at the technical documents on Java integration at
http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms
and also look at the Javabeans and PJC samples in the sample
code section of Forms on OTN.
Creating a random number using a java class is an excelent
example of how to use Java with forms. -
How to deploy the wrapped Java Bean on PowerBuilder
Using the JavaBeans Bridge for ActiveX Packager, I could generate the .tbl and .reg files for my Java Bean. Since I am a 100% Java guy and don't have much knowledge of PowerBuilder, I don't know how to deploy this on PB. When I try to register an OLE, PB looks for the files with an extension .ocx but not .tbl. Please let me know how I can see my wrapped up Java Bean on PowerBuilder or on VB.
Thanks a lot in advance.I found it, I have to update the system registry with the .reg file and then the java bean automatically gets listed in the controls list in PB.

Diffrence b/w Deploy Time & Design time in Java bean model
Hi all,
I have craeted a model using java bean.
create model->import java bean model->Add JAR->browse the jar.
There i have got two Radio Buttons
Design Time
Deploy Time
I have worked with this two i have not observed any difference.
Can anyone give me some idea about this.If possible with an example to?
Thanks & Regards,
Lokesh.HI Lokesh,
The basic difference between design time and deploy time is. design time jars are only used when building your aplication and considered to be present already on server. and at runtime application refer to it..
while if you keep deploy time, then the application itself keeps that jar file with him and at runtime it refers to it.
i.e. application deploy that jar file on server.
When you run an application, application need all its dependencied to be present in webdynpro container of server.
your javabean model needs those jar files at server. so when you chose deploy time. it personly deploy that file on server.
Iif you keep it as design time then. then you will be able to build it.
but if those jar files are not present at the server then your application will not get deployed.
e.g.
let A & B are your two applications and they need xx.jar file of a EJB which is created by you to create a javabean model.
now as this xx.jar file is not present at server.
1. when you create model for A. Keep it as deploy time.
as application A deploy that xx.jar file on server. B can refer it directly
2._when you create model for B keep it as design time._ -
How to deploy java bean in Oracle Applications?
There is a Oracle Applications Forms FNDMNMNU.fmb which calls a Java Bean to show TreeView.
The Bean Area uses the implementation class of AppletAdapter.class. Do you know that we have to use the same AppletAdapter class so that we can connect to Oracle database?
In the form of FNDMNMNU.fmb, the java bean is called like this.
fndaplt.applet_init('FND_MENUS.TREE_VIEWER',
'FS',
'oracle.apps.fnd.functionSecurity.client.FunctionTreeViewer',
l_list_id);
Do you know what 'FS' means ?
Thank you very much in advance!

You realy can do it like Xiang says, but the better way is to use packages. That's
the way BEA is designed for. If you use packages you can but your bean classes
in every subfolder beneath Classes. Here for example we have the subfolders test
and beans:
You have to declare the package on top of your Bean Source Code:
package test.beans;
In your JSP you don't need the import code of Xiang. You only have to refer the
path of your bean class:
<jsp:useBean id="testBean" scope="session" class="test.beans.TestBean" />
There are some other AppServers that only can deploy Java Beans in packages. So
if you use packages you are always on the right side.

Java Bean does not display in Forms 9i
Hi,
I created a Java bean taht would not display in a Forms 9i application. I do not get any error messages, just nothing seem to happen. I did the following:
1. Created a Java Bean with az Init() public function, packed it into a jar file and put it into <9iASHome>\forms90\java
2. Added the jar file to the formsweb.cfg file's archive_jini.
3. Created a Form with a Java Bean item on a canvas.
4. Set the implementation property of the bean item to the full java 'direcotry' path of the class.
5. Created the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger and put this code into it:
fbean.register_bean('BLOCK3.BEAN_AREA4',1,'geoifsweb.ifsframe');
After deploying the form to 9iAS and running it nothing seems to happen, only the place of the Java Bean appears on the Form. Teh Java Bean class extend a JFrame class, so I would expect it to appear on the screen.
What am I missing? Thank you for any help or hint in advance.
Regards,
Tamas SzecsyTamas
When using fbean.register_bean you don't need to set the implementation class of the bean at design time.
You must however supply the full package and class name in the register_bean call.
Do you get any exceptions in the Java console?
I'd also switch logging on (see FBEAN.Set_Logging_Mode) -

when u are deploying ur component there will be a screen that will show components present in ur jar/ear and will ask for JNDI name.U will have to fill the JNDI name manually and deploy the bean..
If even after that u are facing the same problem, use AAT(Application Assembly Tool) to create ur jar / ear ... there is a seperate link for giving JNDI names (namely JNDI Bindings) .use this tab to specify ur JNDI name and create the jar/ear.deploy as such in WAS and i am sure the error will not occur

Problem deploying message driven bean using Log4j
Hello all.
Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0.2, I'm having a problem with a message driven bean I've created and associated with a JMS queue.
I've created an EJB Module project in my application (in which some other projects exist), and created the bean. A simple test of the bean, sending a message through the jms queue and printing it on system.out in the mdb onMessage() worked just fine.
However, when I add apache commons logging to my mdb, things start to go wrong. Running the project on the integrated weblogic 10.3 server just fails during deployment, due to a NoClassDefFoundError on org/apache/log4j/Logger.
In project properties -> libraries and classpath, I've added a log4j library (Log4j-1.2.14.jar) next to Commons Logging 1.0.4 but it doesn't seem to matter anything.
The code of my message bean:
@MessageDriven(mappedName = "weblogic.wsee.DefaultQueue")
public class MyMessageBean implements MessageListener {
// logger
private static Log sLog = LogFactory.getLog(MyMessageBean.class);
public void ejbCreate() {
public void ejbRemove() {
public void onMessage(Message message) {
MapMessage mapmsg = null;
try {
if (message instanceof MapMessage) {
mapmsg = (MapMessage)message;
boolean msgRedelivered = mapmsg.getJMSRedelivered();
String msgId = mapmsg.getJMSMessageID();
if (!msgRedelivered) {
sLog.debug("****** Successfully received message " + msgId);
} else {
sLog.debug("****** Successfully received redelivered message " + msgId);
// Haal de inhoud op:
int testInt = mapmsg.getInt("TestInt");
sLog.debug("TestInt:" + testInt);
} else {
sLog.debug("Message of wrong type: " +
message.getClass().getName());
} catch (Exception e) {
sLog.error("Fout in verwerken",e);
}Does anybody have any clue as to what I might be doing wrong or missing out here?
