Deploying IE10 with pre-reqs

Hello,
I am attempting to deploy IE10 and its pre-reqs but don't appear to be able to get the client to evaluate that it needs it. On the client in the UpdatesDeployment.log I can see that the update is processed, but doesn't do anything else.

Also in the WindowsUpdate.log I can see that the client is checking the correct site. I am also deploying KBs 2729094, 2670838, 2786081 and 2758857 as pre-reqs, but I cannot get SCCM to recognize 2670838 in the catalog even though it is in the WSUS catalog.
This client is able to retrieve other updates.

    Perform the steps :

    You must run AD Administration "Maintain snapshot information" once
    for each APPL_TOP before you can apply any patch that contains a "
    compatible feature prereq" line on that APPL_TOP. Running AD
    Administration "Maintain snapshot information" for an APPL_TOP

    Hi,
    Please run the following command to check the Exchange server in your organization:
    Get-ExchangeServer
    Check whether there is any legacy Exchange server listed. We can double confirm the Excahnge server in the following path:
    1. In ADSI Edit, navigate to Configuration >
    CN=Configuration,CN=<domain> > CN=Services >
    CN=Microsoft Exchange > CN=<Exchange organization name> >
    CN=Address Lists Container > CN=Recipient Update Services.
    2. In the result pane, right-click Recipient Update Service (Enterprise Configuration), click
    Delete, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion.
    3. Uninstall Exchange 2003 by using Add or Remove Programs from
    Control Panel.
    If there is no Exchange 2003 in your organization, please collect any error logs in Event Viewer for further troubleshooting.

  • Deploying Applications with SCCM 2012 R2 to Server 2008 R2 RDS servers

    I'm having some trouble finding some concrete information from Microsoft regarding the deployment of applications to RDS servers using SCCM 2012 R2. There seems to be a lot of conjecture, old information and old wives tales floating around and I was hoping
    I could get some information confirmed!
    1. MSI installs automatically switch to install mode on RDS servers?
    I've seen this mentioned a few times. I've also seen it mentioned that it is only true when running the MSI from the console session manually (i.e clicking the MSI file) not running as SYSTEM as SCCM would usually do. Can someone confirm if they do this
    themselves or not?
    2. Users still logged in when deploying applications?
    Is it possible to deploy an application while users are still logged in? Is this only related to going into 'install' mode and taking the chance that a user will do something that will cause issues? Or is it known to cause issues?
    I guess those are the main ones, I'm experienced in SCCM but not with deploying to RDS servers, I cant seem to find any straight answers!
    Anyway, thanks in advance!

    I've never had large enough RDS environment to use SCCM for app push, but from my experience in managing 2012/R2 RDS and local installs, I never bother with switching to install mode anymore and it works fine.  Now if you're skeptical, you can
    easily build this into a script that runs as a pre-req to your .MSI as part of the software package in SCCM so it's not a big deal.
    As for installing apps while users are logged in, shouldn't be a problem if you're installing a new app., if however you're updating an existing application or uninstalling it, then it may be best to drain that RDS host first of all user sessions then do
    the work just to be safe.  this also helps avoid reboots.

  • Deploy Images with SCCM Client Installed

    Hi everyone.
    there's one thing I have in mind for a while and haven't got a solution for it
    We use SCCM 2012 to build and create our master image with a Task Sequence
    one task before the syspreping is  "prepare configuration manager client", which from my understanding and from technet - resets all the client's unique configuration.
    conclusion - the SCCM Client is installed and "Syspreped" on our base image
    in that case, assuming we still use the same SCCM client version, is there a way to save time during the Deploy task sequence?
    the "Setup windows and ConfigMgr" step is required and it installs the SCCM Client all over again, even though it is already included in our master image.
    thanks
    Tamir Levy

    First, as noted by Daniel, the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr task does much more than simply installing the ConfigMgr agent. This is clearly indicated by the name of the task (before the "and") "Setup Windows".
    The are no true advantages to having the client agent in the image. If you are building your image with ConfigMgr though, it is unavoidable. Yes having it in the image should save time by not having to reinstall the pre-reqs -- most are pretty trivial though
    but you may gain a bit although I can't say I've ever timed it.
    There is no time savings to be had here, the client agent must be either installed or re-installed during the deployment TS, this is unavoidable. You'll need to look elsewhere if this is a required goal.

  • Errors deploying applications with WLE5.1

    Hello, i'm deploying many applications on Wle5.1; i mail two applications which give me problems.
    The first application is CodiciSoggetto
    i've problem with the boot of the application ( entity bean )because there is a cmp field (id) in the ejb-jar.xml which owns to Primary key class , but not to Bean class. This application works fine in WebLogicServer5.1; have i to change the source code? How can i tell it that this field owns to primary key class? perhaps with the tag >primary-key-field>?

    Your error does not appear to be to do with EDQ at all. I do not recognise the name of the war file giving you the error. Which version of EDQ are you deploying?
    Please do not use the public forum if you need support with an internal deployment of a pre-release version.

  • MASTER LEGISLATIVE HRGLOBAL PRE-REQ LIST doesn't have R12.HR_PF.B.1

    Hi Friends,
    I am using R12.1.1 with HRMS Patch level : R12.HR_PF.B.1 (which is R12.HR_PF.B.delta1 i believe)
    I would like to apply Singapore Legislation so when i look at the MASTER LEGISLATIVE HRGLOBAL PRE-REQ LIST (Latest Oracle HRMS Legislative Data Patch Available (HR Global / hrglobal) [ID 145837.1])
    I couldn't see either R12.1.1 (or) R12.HR_PF.B.1 and i could see only the later versions (R12.1.2,R12.1.3,R12.HR_PF.B.delta2,R12.HR_PF.B.delta3,R12.HR_PF.B.delta4,R12.HR_PF.B.delta5)
    so do this mean i don't need to apply any Pre-Req patches for my current release/HRMS level and I can proceed with Data Install and apply hrgobal.drv?
    Please confirm.
    Regards,
    DB

    Regards,
    DBHi,
    yes, you are right. this is because R12.1.1 comes with the installation. And you can not apply any pre-req before installing R12.1.1
    All the patches listed in the table for pre-req are for the RUP patches which you will apply later. For example before applying RUP3 for HR you will apply 12757980 as a pre-req for Singapore.
    Thanks

  • What are the pre reqs to learn XI

    Hi..
    Can any one suggest me what all the pre req's that i need to learn so that i can learn XI. I am new to this field, so can any one suggest me how to start?
    thank you.
    kishore karnati

    Kishore
    If you know basic concepts of Java, ABAP and XML it would be a added advantage to learn and understand XI very quickly.
    As you may XI is SAP's middleware solution, providing integration capabilities for SAP and non-SAP solutions alike. It is becoming increasingly important in any SAP implementation, mostly because it makes integration to SAP systems easy to implement. Also, SAP's newer solutions like SRM and MDM use XI's capabilities natively.
    SO if you are interested in working with XI, that is agood thing. It is quite different from EP though, because EP is very user and front-end oriented, whereas a good XI implementation is invisible to the end-users.
    An certification is a good thing to have, and XI is no different. But as in any other SAP solution, the certification is no substitute for hands-on experience on XI... which is what you must get as soon as you can.

  • Problems installing AIA 2.5 Foundation Pack pre-reqs on SOA 10g

    I am involved in a very large AIA project. I am creating my own environment prior to go to the customer and I have found some issues while installing the pre-reqs for the Foundation Pack on top of Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 (MLR #8) using OC4J.
    I am following the attached doc, in specific these lines:
    Oracle SOA Suite 10 g Release 3 (10.1.3.4 + MLR#8 or later). Use Advanced Installation option and select J2EE, the web server, and Oracle SOA Suite.
    This version of AIA is tested and certified on 10.1.3.4 MLR#8 (Patch 8372150). You need to apply these additional patches over MLR#8:
    * 5507491
    * 7692665
    * 8533397
    Note: Before you apply patch 8533397, perfrom the following tasks.
    1. Download OUI 10.1.0.6.0 (patch 6640838) and install it on the Oracle home with all components listed on screen.
    2. Download latest 10.1 Opatch (Patch 6880880) and install it on the Oracle home.
    * 8644645
    I was able to install MLR#8, and then 5507491,7692665. I also did the pre-reqs for 8533397. But when trying to install 8533397, I got the following:
    ==================================================
    D:\>opatch version

    Oracle recommends you to use the latest OPatch version
    and read the OPatch documentation available in the OPatch/docs
    directory for usage. For information about the latest OPatch and
    other support-related issues, refer to document ID 293369.1
    available on My Oracle Support (https://myoraclesupport.oracle.com)
    OPatch Version: 1.0.0.0.63
    OPatch returns with error code = 0

    So, the Opatch is with the latest version. Then I ran:

    =====================
    I've been trying to install the patch, but it seems OPatch is having some issues with the overlay patches and that is why is throwing that error. I also tried to do it with previous Opatch releases (52 and 62), but I got similar errors.
    Do u have any suggestions?? Is there anything I can do to install those two patches (8533397 & 8644645).
    In my research I noticed that the OPatch is either not being updated correctly, or simply not able to use the overlay patches, and that is why is saying that I need a most updated one. But for an Oracle DB 10.1 system, the latest OPatch version I found was 1.0.0.0.63.
    Any suggestions are welcomed,
    thx again

    Hi Walter:
    how r u?
    Basically the issue is related when u apply patch 6640838 to upgrade OUI. If u don't do the following, u get into the error u described in ur post:
    1. Before u install patch #6640838 , u need to be sure to rename the OPatch directory under $ORACLE_HOME. Once u do that, u can proceed with the application of patch 6640838.
    2. Then after applying it u can download patch 6880880, in order to have the latest OPatch version (1.0.0.0.63). In this step, u just need to unzip it, and u will have a new OPatch directory under $ORACLE_HOME
    3. After that, u can go and do an "opatch apply" for patches 8533397 and 8644645.
    And that's it, u will get rid of that messy problem.
    I ran into the same issue, but just realized the step that was causing all the problem.
    Hope this helps.

    Use higher versions of OUI Installer and OPatch - 10.2 or above

  • Sync content to DP with pre-staged content

    So the environment is SCCM 2012 R2 CU1.
    Situation:
    I'd like to sync app/package content deltas with pre-staged distribution point.
    There will be ~30 remote DPs will pre-staged content.  After the content has been pre-staged on the DP and I have un-checked the "Enable this distribution point for prestaged content", how do I ensure that the deltas of app/package content
    have been synced to the DP?
    As an example, I have a SCEP updates package that I know has changed since capturing the content.  However I don't see a DP job in the DP Job Queue Manager.

    Execute an update DP on the content that has updated. The assumption with pre-staged content is that it is up to date so to my knowledge there is nothing automatic to ensure that the latest version is deployed.

  • Deploying IE10 thru Active Directory

    I would like to deploy Internet Explorer 10 with all critical updates to several clients Windows 7 SP1 which have IE8 installed. Already have met with IEAK10 to configure IE10. When finished in the builds folder and subfolders there are made 2 files: IE10-Setup-Full.exe
    and a .msi. I have configured IEAK10 so that the installation is not asking questions.
    Is it possible to deploy that msi made with IEAK with Active Directory? Configure a gpo with startup user or startup computer so that the msi is deployed to the clients?
    In this installation are there any critical updates installed automatically? I have synchronised in IEAK but if thats enough?
    What would be the easyest best way to deploy IE10 thru active directory with all critical updates and without user intervention, is that like above?
    freddie

    Hi,
    To deploy IE 10 to all clients, you can use SCCM to deploy IE on computers already running Windows or use MDT to deploy IE 10 as a part of Windows image, if you want to deploy it by GPO, of course you can use Group Policy Software Installation, it's recommended
    to use Group Policy to deploy IE for small to medium sized organizations.
    Using Software Distribution Tools to Install Internet Explorer 10
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj822329.aspx
    Editing Software Settings (Group Policy Software Installation )
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771306.aspx
    And "Synchronize" option in IEAK 10 can synchronize your Internet Explorer 10 files to receive the latest updates on the web.

    So as i understand it: configure it with IEAK10 and the msi file created deploy thru software installation gpo is for me the beste way to go?. THe msi containes latest updates when choosing synchronise in IEAK, how can i see if
    the msi holds the latest updates?
    Putting IE10 in a image is for me the easest way to install ie10 in my virtual master machine. No need to put ie10 in MDT2010 because i can put it right away in a image that is goiing to be sysprepped and deployed..

  • Issue using SharePoint 2010 with IE10 with MS Office Excel Viewer

    Hello,
    We are experiencing an issue with MS SharePoint 2010 Foundation and computers who have Internet Explorer 10 and the Microsoft Office Word Viewer 2003.  When opening Word documents from SharePoint, the Word Viewer opens, but no document is displayed.
     The MS Excel Viewer 2007 works and does open the Excel documents.
    Computers with MS Word Viewer 2003 and IE 9 works fine, it's just the IE10 PCs.  PCs that have the full version of Office it works fine with both IE9 and IE10.
    We have a segment of our PCs that need only read-only access to the Word and Excel files.  We tried Office Web App but found functionality issues (printing, etc.) and issues where the other segment of our PCs that have MS Office had to open the files
    in a specific way to manipulate them.
    Does anyone know of something that would be affecting the MS Word Viewer with IE10 with SharePoint?  Or know of an alternate viewer?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Anthony,
    In IE10, please click F12 to open the DEV toolbar.
    Now search for Browser- and Document Mode.
    Set Browser Mode to Internet Explorer 8, that should work.
    This setting can be edited in your Masterpage.
    This is what you should put in:
    <meta
    http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" />
