Deploying iworks suite when ipad will become privately owned in future

I have a mix of privately owned and school owned ipads that are supervised by my MDM.
The school owned ipads will become privately owned ipads in several years.
As part of the supervision users can't install their own apps, can not remove apps.
They can sign into iTunes.
Apps are deployed from the MDM.
Is there a way I can deploy iworks using tokens to the school owned ipads which will still allow the ipads to have iworks installed by the owners of the ipads when they are no longer school owned. To clarify, I want users in several years time when the MDM no longer has control of the ipads to be able to install iworks, but until then I want to control the installation.
With the privately owned ipads can I send deploy iworks but allow the users to activate the account using there own iTunes accounts?
Is this also the way forward for the school owned ipads.

@To the OP:
I own a X-Fi Elite Pro for the past 8 years now.
Since there, this card has faithfullly seen me through 3 major PC upgrades.
I'm currently at a point where, very sadly, much of what you've described is also weighing on my decision to not go for a Z line.
@Creative:
I do hope you're listening and can come up with a solution to a simply design feature - namely a fully working Stereo Surround, like the one that was available in the X-Fi line of cards via CMSS-3D.

  • Will there be a new Technical Communication Suite when CS5 will be released next month ?

    Dear Forum,
    will there be a new Technical Communication Suite when CS5 will be released next month (April 2010) ?
    We are close ordering the Technical Communication Suite 2 - will there be a grace period to get the
    new version without getting charged again ?
    Greetz from Europe,
    Speedtriple

    I'm wondering about that too.
    I've been stuck before when I bought TCS, then tried to upgrade just Captivate when v4 was released, and couldn't do it.  Took months to get my money back for the CS4 download.
    Seems that anyone who buys a suite gets penalized for it.  Surely it's in Adobe's best interest to upgrade users who invested in the more expensive product?

  • Any idea when Lion will become functional?

    Sorry to be so sarcastic, but so far Lion:
    1)     Makes me restart my computer almost every time I turn the computer on (after showing some scary message)
    2)     Killed my external memory (backup)
                SEE  http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?page=1&NewLang=en&D ocId=219975
    3)     Killed my labelwriter

    arrghhhhhhh!

    I agree completely-  as an early adopter I accept my share of the blame... and as I posted on a discussion regarding whether to recommend Lion or not question
    "NO,  However Lion is an Apple product- NOT a Microsft product.  I think it was a premature release, but unlike the other company Apple will fix all the bugs and eventually the OS will stabilize."
    I'll pull the log when I get a chance and post.
    THANK you for offering to help me the issue, it is appreciated

  • Private owned delete not working

    Hi
    I am stumped by a problem trying to delete a child object from a parent's collection.
    I have set Private Owned on for the 1-many mapping, but when I remove the privately owned child from the parent and commit, no DELETE SQL is produced. The only difference from classes that I can delete by removing from the parent is that my child class does not specify direct-mapped primary keys, but rather references to the parent objects:
    public class ServiceAsset extends ServiceAssetValue implements Ownable {
         private Service service;
         private AssetType assetType;
    Here are the steps I use to remove the child:
    public void delete(AssetType assetTypeProto, Service serviceProto) throws PersistenceException {
         Service service = (Service)TopLinkSession.getServerSessionInstance().acquireClientSession().readObject(serviceProto);
         AssetType assetType = (AssetType)TopLinkSession.getServerSessionInstance().acquireClientSession().readObject(assetTypeProto);
         this.getWriteSession().logMessages();
         ServiceAsset serviceAsset = new ServiceAsset();
         serviceAsset.setService(service);
         serviceAsset.setAssetType(assetType);
         serviceAsset = (ServiceAsset)TopLinkSession.getServerSessionInstance().acquireClientSession().readObject(serviceAsset);
         ServiceAsset workingCopyServiceAsset = (ServiceAsset)getUnitOfWork().registerExistingObject(serviceAsset);
         Service workingCopyService = (Service)getUnitOfWork().registerExistingObject(service);
         workingCopyService.getServiceAssets().remove(workingCopyServiceAsset);
         this.getUnitOfWork().printRegisteredObjects();
         commit();
    Here is the mapping specification in the parent descriptor:
    <database-mapping>
    <attribute-name>serviceAssets</attribute-name>
    <read-only>false</read-only>
    <reference-class>com.xxxx.ServiceAsset</reference-class>

    James
    I have revised the code to show that the ServiceAsset is included in the cache Service object's collection, the Service working copy's collection acquired through the UOW before the remove() call, and still exists after the remove() call. I also show that at all times the ServiceAsset's service is never set to null, by accessing the Service's collection via the ServiceAsset.
    What is the remove() method actually doing, if Service specifies serviceAssets as java.util.Collection, serviceAssets get instantiated as new java.util.ArrayList, and MW specifies IndirectList for indirection?
    The wierd thing is that the cached Service object's serviceAsset collection actually grows after the remove() is called on the working copy.
    Thanks if you can offer any further ideas.

    Will I need to purchase iWork for my iPad if I purchase an iPhone 5s? Everybody knows the iPhone 5s with IOS7 gives iWork for free. I assume that if I buy an iPhone 5s (or 5c) then iWork would be listed as a "purchased" app in my itunes store under my account. My iPad retina is in the same account... or are keynote, pages, and numbers completely seperate between ipad and iphone? I know they would be a seperate purchase for my Powerbook. Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi,
    I was able to load the Productivity Suite / Free !!  on both my iPad mini and my iPhone 5s with no problems and at no cost.

    I am a first-time iPad owner/user. I bought a relative's original iPad. I want to leave the apps on it and add my own pdfs to read. My itunes account is really for my iPod. iTunes message says that if I "Sync" the iPad will be erase, and become like my iPods. If I make a new iTunes account, would the apps be erased when I tried to use it?
    How can I just get my files onto this iPad, and still have the apps that my relative left there for me?
    Thank you.

    iPads sync to 1 computer only.
    All media and apps are tied to the Apple ID that purchased them.
    Without your relatives ID and password, you cannot update any of the Apps.
    I am pretty certain he is also violating Apples terms of service by giving you the apps.

    I recently just bought a iphone 4 im happy with the product and it didnt cost an arm and a leg but i was wondering when the iphone 4 will become obsolete as in not receaving updates anymore etc

    Keep in mind that just because a device may not be upgradeable to the latest iOS release does not mean it cannot continue to work just fine on the last update it did get.  There will be many devices that were incompatible with iOS 7 that will continuing to work just fine on iOS 6 for a long time yet.  There are many people still using their iPad 1 despite the fact it stopped getting iOS updates after iOS 5.1.1.
    One way to safeguard your apps against future incompatible versions is to keep a backup of all your apps in iTunes on your computer.  That way, if an update to the app comes out that is not backwards compatible with your iOS, you still have a copy of the last version of the app that was compatible with your device and your iOS release.

    i purchased 2 books for my iPad and they downloaded successfully.  They show up in iTunes when my iPad is connected to my Mac but do not show up on the Mac.  Is this a synch issue?  When I click the Synch box I am warned that downloads on my iPad will be erased.  Is that true?  My ultimate goad is to be able to read the books on my iPhone as well.  Thanks.

    You should be able to copy them to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync them to the iPhone (or you could re-download them directly on the iPhone)

  • When I am NOT private browsing Firefox will not allow me to delete or change the website address in the location bar. My only remedy is to open a new window and search in google then click the link to that site through google. How can I resolve this?

    Question
    When I am NOT private browsing Firefox will not allow me to delete or change the website address in the location bar. My only remedy is to open a new window and search in google then click the link to that site through google. When I swap to private browsing firefox allows me to anter the website address directly into the location bar - but this is a slow [prcess to swap back and forth - also by dint of using private browsing I loose my website information.

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

    After installing the above mentioned update, my ipad will no longer turn on. I have just a black screen with the apple logo when I attach it to a power source.  Anyone else having this problem, please advise on how to fix.

    IF RESET DOESN'T WORK, FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note: Data will be lost
