Deploying JSP Application that instantiate BPEL Processes

Hi,
I have a JSP page where I am trying to invoke a BPEL Process. I have looked at the samples, but couldn't find a dcumentation on how to deploy the application. What if I want to deploy this application on a OracleAS 10g not on BPEL Mid-tier if so what libraries do I need. Is there a document I can look at that kind of describes all this what really goes in build.xml and the application is packeaged or does the directory structure should be just like as in the samples provided. There's not enough information as it does tells you do this and you are done but how does that all work. Is there another way to deploy the J2EE application other than using obant.
Thanks

Create a web application and a jsp which invokes BPEL process. If you want to see an example you can refer
OraBPELPM_1\integration\bpelpm\orabpel\samples\tutorials\102.InvokingProcesses\jsp\invokeHelloWorld.jsp
In this code change
Locator locator = new Locator("default","bpel"); to
Hashtable contextProps = new Hashtable();
contextProps.put(javax.naming.Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIInitialContextFactory");
contextProps.put(javax.naming.Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "admin");
contextProps.put(javax.naming.Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "welcome");
contextProps.put(javax.naming.Context.PROVIDER_URL, "ormi://host:23791/orabpel");
Locator locator = new Locator("default","bpel", contextProps);
This should invoke the process.
For this code to complile you have to set the OraBPEL libraries in the classpath. If you are using BPEL Designer JDev then it's available as a library.
Deploy this web application in any oc4j instance.

    I have to combine JSP pages with BPEL and for that i have to deploy applications with the inbuilt OC4J i dont know from where to deploy the whole application and how to write build.xml for deploying using obant

    You can deploy your application to the Oracle Bpel Server by specifying a new Application Server connection that points to yout LocalBpelServer.
    You don't need to write a build.xml file, you can just use the Deployment Descriptor functionality of JDeveloper which is much more easier than using the obant.

  • How to create and deploy a JSP which calls a BPEL process in JDEVELOPER

    Hi Gurus,
    I don't know how to create a JSP in JDEVELOPER which call a BPEL process. I have gone through the tutorials. Since, I am new to JDEVELOPER I need some help.
    1. How to create a JSP (I know creating application and project, also I know JSP coding)
    2. How to deploy this JSP?
    3. For the Synchronos BPEL project, the build.xml is created automatically, in this forum, I see people talking about ear war .deploy etc. How do we get them automatically created. Or do we need to create them manually. If it has to be manual some sample scripts would be of great help.
    Any help in this regard would be really great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sankar.

    I found the following tutorial which clearly explains how to deploy J2EE apps.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/deployment/deployment.htm
    I created a simple jsp file in a project, followed the steps in the tutorial and it got deployed onto: http://localhost:9700
    For invoking BPEL process through JSP, I have reused the jsp files available in : 102.InvokingProcesses\jsp and changed the processes and input accordingly.
    Please post me a query in this thread, if any of you want any specific details.

  • Deploying JSP Application in OC4J

    Hi Experts,
    Here is my query.
    I have developed a small application containing around 40-50 JSPs. Its developed using Only JSPs & nothing else.
    I use external JARs like *"jakarta-poi-1.5.0-FINAL-20020506.jar", "fileupload.jar"*. This application was testing & run successfully in Apache Tomcat 5.x Server in Window 2003 Server Platform.
    I'm using OC4J which comes with OBIEE Report tool (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) to deploy this application. I'm not sure where these JSPs are to be placed & the JARs used by the JSPs. Kindly help me out on this.
    Thanks,

    Hi
    you need to create WAR file or EAR file and deploy to oc4j using Oracle Enterprise manager(OEM ) or command line deployment.
    Please look into following blog to follow the EAR or WAR file structure
    http://soabpel.wordpress.com/2009/03/01/j2ee-enterprise-archive-ear-web-application-war-webservices-war-file-structure/
    please look into following blog to deploy EAR or WAR files into Oc4J using OEM
    http://soabpel.wordpress.com/2009/03/02/oracle-10g-application-server-create-oc4j-deploy-war-deploy-ear-files/
    if your application already working in Tomcat then go to your application under Webapps in TOmcat, use jar utility to create WAR file
    --Webapps

  • Error Deploying BPEL process to Mid Tier

    I'm having problems deploying a jar to midtier.
    When I attempt to deploy the jar of my BPEL process to a 10.1.2.0 GA mid-tier BPEL instance using the console's "deploy new process" I get the following error message.
    The BPEL process works and deploys with no problems on a 10.1.2.0 GA Developer's install (same machine). I have tried deploying it both from JDev and the console after un-deploying it manually. Both of these work fine in the Developers install.

    Figured it out...
    The problem was I forgot to copy the FTP connect info
    into the midtier FtpAdapter oc4j-ra.xml file.
    Is there an out of the box way for low level config
    like this to be included in the JAR file?Nope not right now. We are working on what we can do to fix this going forwards in a later release.
    >
    One interesting note, I was able to "deploy" my

    deployment folder... What is the difference between
    doing this and using "deploy new process" from the
    console?When going the console route, it goes through an additional deployment time validation check which you were able to bypass by copying the jar directly into the deployment folder.
    You may have been hitting a bug in the validation code, otherwise you should have really seen the error message asking you to potentially fix the jndi entry in oc4j-ra.xml.

    Hi Saikrishna,
    I had the same problem. My fix was to create a new Deployment Profile (EJB JAR file) in my Model (the default is an "ADF Library JAR file") and have my ViewController depend on that.
    Also, make sure your ejb references in web.xml have the ejb-link attribute:
    <ejb-local-ref>
    <ejb-ref-name>AuditSessionEJB</ejb-ref-name>
    <ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>
    <local>com.incomemax.ejb.session.AuditSessionEJBLocal</local>
    <ejb-link>AuditSessionEJB</ejb-link> <---- this entry
    </ejb-local-ref>
    Hope that helps,

  • Using Java Embedding Unzip Code and a Trigger File in a BPEL Process

    Hello,
    Thanks in advance to anyone that contributes with any insight.  It is much appreciated.  Having said that I will get to the crux of my problem.
    I am currently using Oracle 11g.  I have created a SOA composite application that incorporates BPEL and Java.  I have the code needed to unzip and extract compressed folders.  However, when this was first built out using BPEL it automatically created a web service in the "exposed service" lane and not a file adapter which I believe is needed in order to trigger the process via a start.txt file for example.  Based on what I know ... this web service automatically connecting to the BPEL process was simply due to the order of operations, etc.  So by creating a 'read' file adapter first and then creating the BPEL process and selecting the template "Define Service Later", it does not automatcially connect the web service to the BPEL process and it will allow me to connect a file adapter to this BPEL process instead ... great.  When opening up the BPEL file I then connect a recieve component to this file adapter and configure appropriately.
    Essentially, my objective in setting up a trigger to start this unzip process is due to the BPEL process before that outputs or writes the .zip folder to the same directory that I want to poll and/or trigger via a start.txt file.  I can get this process to work with a webservice connecting to the BPEL process and by using a Java Embedded in BPEL file, which in turns calls the package/ class that has the java code needed to unzip.
    For some reason whenever I try to use a file adapter instead of the native web service that gets created (as mentioned above) it doesn't work.  It seems to build or compile just fine however, I am getting errors when I try to deploy.
    Note:  The Java code contains all the paths where the zip file is to be taken from and extracted to.  So because this is in the code I don't need the file adapter to handle this.  I just want to use the file adapter so that I can trigger the process via start.txt or something of that nature.
    Thanks to anyone that has any suggestions.
    Kind Regards,

  • Issue while invoking a BPEL process

    Hi
    We are invoking a BPEL prcs from ESB project.The ESB project has a Oracle application adapter to read from a queue and a external soap service to invoke a BPEL process.
    The Oracle application adapter is working fine as it is pulling data from the queue successfully and after that the BPEL process is invoked using the soap external service.
    Now the interesting part is that the process when newly deployed (v 1.0) works fine but after sometime ESB fails to invoke the BPEL service. We then again redeploy the BPEL prcs(v 1.0) and evrything works fine but only for few instances....... So evry time we are having to redeploy the BPEL prcs when ESB fails to invoke the BPEL prcs
    The error that we get at the ESB console is :
    An unhandled exception has been thrown in the ESB system. The exception reported is: "org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: exception on JaxRpc invoke:

    at com.collaxa.cube.ws.wsif.providers.oc4j.jaxrpc.WSIFOperation_JaxRpc.invokeOperation(WSIFOperation_JaxRpc.java:1720)
    and in the WSM gateway error is :
    Error message - Service returns soap fault: Fault Code=[:XXXXX_yyyyPortType] Fault String=[Cannot figure out operation name. Bad SOAPAction or wsa:Action.];
    Please help!!
    Thanks

    Hi
    I made a mistake.... I copied the wrong error message from the ESB console ..... The response code is 500 and not 401.......
    Here is the message at ESB console :
    An unhandled exception has been thrown in the ESB system. The exception reported is: "org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message transmission failure, response code: 500 at com.collaxa.cube.ws.wsif.providers.oc4j.jaxrpc.WSIFOperation_JaxRpc.invokeOperation(WSIFOperation_JaxRpc.java:1720) at com.collaxa.cube.ws.wsif.providers.oc4j.jaxrpc.WSIFOperation_JaxRpc.invokeRequestResponseOperation(WSIFOperation_JaxRpc.java:1466) at

  • Invoke Bpel Processes via API or Web Service Proxy Clients

    Hi all,
    I was wondering if any of the felow community members have found information regarding best practices in invoking bpel processes from a user interface other than ADF Faces?
    Currently I'm using Web Service Proxy Clients to invoke my bpel processes, but I was wondering if it would be better to use the BPEL API?
    Considerations I have regarding these 2 different approaches are mostly tight integration when using the BPEL API, because this means I have to port the BPEL (Oracle Code) inside my UI-application which isn't the case when using Web Service Proxy Clients.
    What is the best way to instantiate bpel processes from a user interface, is that by using web service proxy clients or by using the bpel i
    nvocation API?
    Kind regards,
    Nathalie

    Hi Marc,
    These were my considerations as well, but I was looking for some kind of benchmarking regarding these 2 approaches. What's best practices when hooking up bpel inside UI Applications regarding performance, future-proofness (SOA Grid, SOA Composites, ...) etc.
    I think I need to discuss this with the product team to make sure I'm taking the wright decisions.
    Kind regards,
    Nathalie
