Deployment and IIOP connection

Hi All
I've been trying to deploy a very simple set of EJBs to Oracle 9IAS but i can't set up the IIOP connection in JDeveloper to deploy my beans - i keep getting Unknown Service error thrown by Connection exeception
I specify username and password for my database, host id is the name of the machine running Apache and Oracle 9ias(Oracle 8.1.6 database resides on a different machine), SID for my database and port is 2481
Can anyone help me out here or give me a link to the page that contains information on how to set up IIOP connection???
Thanks in advance

  • IIOP connection problems .: JDeveloper 3.1 and Oracle 8.1.6

This is my 4th day working on this problem. I cannot get an IIOP connection to work.
I have verfied that the listener is running on port 2481, I have been inside of the init.ora, listeners.ora, I have read the error inside of listeners.log, and I have been trying things with the Net8 Assistant also.
Most of the posts on this subject seem older, I am wondering if anyone has had this problem recently with the versions that I am using. There are so many things I have been told to change, I'm wondering if there is a definitive list of steps to fix this problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    RamanandHi,
Sure. Your URL should be "jdbc:oracle:thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName"
    not "jdbc.oracle.thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName"

  • Deploy, IIOP connection, Unable to connect to Oracle 8i using IIOP

    Hi,
I have a working JDBC connection to my Oracle 8i Enterprise DB server but when i try to establish a IIOP connection to the same server i get the following error message:
"Can4t find resource for bundle oracle.aurora.jndi.sess_iiop.Messages, key UNKNOWN_SERVICE:default"
The connection params are as follows:
    JDBC4s URL jdbc:oracle:thin:@leobeln:1521:Prueba
    IIOP4s URL
    sess_iiop://leobeln:2481:Prueba
Same user for both connections: scott
    Some ideas ?
    TIA,
    P

    Pedro
If you haven't done so already, I suggest you try to establish the IIOP connection using JDeveloper's connection manager.
You can use Net8 assistant to check that you have a port set up to receive IIOP connections. Instructions are in the Net8 administrator's guide; in the Oracle 8.1.6 documentation it's in chapter 7, "Configuring the Listener", under the subheading "Configuring Listening Addresses for Oracle8i JServer". Check that you have a port set up to receive IIOP connections, and make sure that you're using that port number when setting up the IIOP connection in JDeveloper.
The Oracle8i documentation is available on this site - select Documentation from the menu on the left.

  • Silent Deployment for RemoteApp and Desktop Connections 2012r2 / Windows 7

Have created a 2012r2 RDS Farm, have Silent deployment working for windows 8 clients, however, cannot seem to get it to function correctly for windows 7 clients.
have followed multiple directions from url's stating to create the .wcx file and run the technet powershell script...applying it in GPO...to NO AVAIL!!!
Does anyone out there have any solid instructions on how to configure Silent deployment of RemoteApp and Desktop Connections 2012r2 to windows 7 clients.
    PLEASE HELP!
    thanks,
    JT

    Hi James,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
The code which is provide from that sites is the one which used for .wcx file. Please check the full steps from below thread where answered by TP and other link for some more useful information.
    A. Windows Server 2012 R2 RemoteApp Deployment
    B. Deploying RemoteApp From Server 2012 to Windows
    7 Clients
Finally if you still have any issue then you can find the Event log under “Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> RemoteApp and Desktop Connections” and see whether there is any useful information for this particular issue.
    Hope it helps!
    Thanks.

  • Deploying RemoteApp and Desktop Connections certificate...

         Hello,
I am currently trying to deploy a certificate for remoteapp and desktop connections and continue to receive a certificate error.  We are running a 2012r2 developement RDS Farm.  We have one Connection Broker, 2 session hosts, gateway,
web access etc...we have about 15 applications published and the user's can access them via web access, however, when we try and setup (RADC-RemoteApp and Desktop Connections) it errors out due to security issue with the certificate.  If we manually install
the cert in the client's Trusted Root Certificate Authority for the local machine, it works flawlessly....however, we do not want to have to install this cert for 500 users +....we would rather deploy through GP.
We have it narrowed down to the point of the certificate is not being deployed to all of the clients.  We have attempted many GPO policy edits that we have found from other technet articles and other websites online...but I cant seem
to find any solid GPO instructions that seem to work for this environment to properly deploy the certificate to all of the clients.
These clients are running windows 7 and windows 8 & 8.1.  All the clients that are running windows 7 have RDP 8.0....
Any help would be greatful....thanks in advance.     JCT

    Hi,
You need to request the necessary certificates from your CA, export each certificate and its private key to a .pfx file, then use these files for the RDS in Server Manager -- RDS -- Overview -- Tasks -- Deployment Properties -- Certificates.
To do this you can use certlm.msc. For example, start on the broker, open certlm.msc, request a new cert using Computer template, before clicking enroll go into the details and edit the properties of the request so that the private key will be marked
as exportable, then enroll.  Once it is done the certificate will be in the Personal store, right-click on it and export it as well as the private key to a .pfx file.
In Server Manager -- RDS -- Overview -- Tasks -- Edit Deployment Properties -- Certificates tab, select RDCB SSO, select existing certificate, choose the .pfx, etc., then click Apply.  Select RDCB Publishing, select existing certificate, choose .pfx,
    OK, click Apply.
At this point you should be finished with 2 out of the 4 RDS purposes.  Log on to the RDWeb server, request the certificate and export it (and its private key) to .pfx file as described above, and copy the file over to the broker.  Repeat
the process I described above to assign this certificate to the RDWeb and RDG purposes in deployment properties.
Now you should have all 4 purposes set and showing as trusted in deployment properties.  The client PCs should not get any certificate errors since they should trust the certificates issued by your enterprise CA.  Additionally the client PCs need
to be able to reach the path defined in CRL Distribution points and AIA on the certificates so that they can do revocation checking.

  • IIOP Connection Hangs: Deploying Hotel EJB from Technet

    Hi,
I was trying to deploy the EJB from the sample hotel application
available at TECHNET. The System is using the standard ORacle 8i
    port for ORB.
Please help identify the connection failure for IIOP connection.

Can you connect via the session shell to the orb namespace (with
the same service URL you are trying to deploy to) from the same
machine? This will validate the IIOP communiactions is working.
If the connection isn't working it may take quite some time to
    actually error out.

  • IIOP Connection Problem to 8i on Linux

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8.1.5 on Linux (Red Hat 6.1 -Kernel 2.2.12) Listener is configured for IIOP connection. When I issue the command
    sess_sh -u scott/tiger -s sess_iiop://192.168.6.121:2481:eswap
from the linux box it connects to the orb shell.
When I try the same command from another machine in the network I get the error
    Cannot connect to service: sess_iiop://192.168.6.121:2481:eswap
I am able to connect to the database from this machine using sqlplus.
What is that I am missing here? Do I need to add this port (2481) in the /etc/services file. My listener is named as lsnreswap, and the only entry that I have made in
    /etc/services is
    lsnreswap 1521/tcp
Or is there any other reason for this?
I need to get this functional urgently to try deployment of ejb from JDeveloper
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanx

    Hi,
Thanx for the tip. Listener.log shows all the
iiop connections as establish. There are no firewall between the client and server. And the listener name is back to the default one.
    Still the problem remains same.
But I found out some interesting thing. Earlier my db was running with only the iiop in mts mode. (ie
mts_dispatchers="(PROTOCOL=tcp)(PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)" only was there in init.ora) I put this to init.ora
mts_dispatchers="(protocol=tcp)(DISP=2)(MUL=off)(pool=off)" to make net 8 connections also in mts mode.
After this when I try to connect from a client machine using sqlplus I'm getting this error
ORA-12545 - Connect failed because targer host or object does not exist.
I'm able to do a tnsping. Listener log shows the connection as establish. But I'm able to get the connection only through dedicated mode. So I have a feeling that this has something to do with the mts and not with the listener.
However I am able to connect from within my linux box using sqlplus as well as sess_sh, using iiop. v$session table shows the connection as 'shared' too.
Any idea what could be the reason?
    Thanx,
    Gopal

  • IIOP Connection, Oracle 8.1.5, JDeveloper 3.0: Can`t establish connection

    Hi,
I can`t establish IIOP Connection from JDeveloper 3.0 to Oracle 8.1.5 Enterprise DB Server.
    Let me describe my situation:
One PC running Oracle 8.1.5 DB Server under NT Workstation 4.0 (host: leobeln)
Another PC running JDeveloper 3.0 under NT Workstation 4.0 too.
At server side, I used Net8 Assistant to configure a listener as follow:
    Name: listener_iiop
    Protocol: TCP/IP
    Port: 2481
Host:leobeln, and checked the option: "Dedicate this endpoint for IIOP Connections"
I set de Database Service tab as follow:
    Global DB Name: Test
SID: Test (both name and SID are correct)
Finally I saved this configuration and sarted the listener using LSNRCTL utility.
When try to test connection from JDev, I receive the following error message:
Can`t find resource for bundle oracle.aurora.jndi.sess_iiop.Message, key UNKNOWN_SERVICE:default.
    The connection properties are:
    UserName: scott
    Connection Type: IIOP
    URL: sess_iiop://leobeln:2481:Test
The final objective is to deploy an App Module (BC4J) on Oracle 8i platform as EJB Session Bean
    somebody may help me ?
    Thanks
    PP

Try connecting with the command line sess_sh tool that comes with your database. If that fails as well, then post a message to the Oracle JVM forum here for assistance.
    Take Care,

  • Does OC4J support RMI/IIOP connections ?

    Hi,
I have only one question :
Does OC4J support IIOP connections ?
I'd like to connect as EJB client to OLAPService on Oracle9i server (CORBA object), but I can't.
    Thanks in advance

Thanks for your timely post Debu.
I would like to state that I read and followed the guides (same files as those ponted by the links you just provided) and tried this:
    1. Sample J2EE Application using ORMI in OC4J Standalone (this works ok)
    2. Same but now using ORMIS (this also works fine)
    3. Tried same J2EE App using IIOP; took these steps:
3.1 commented out the rmi.xml security lines,
    3.2 enabled ports in internal-settings.xml,
3.3 changed the jndi.properties - now using corbaname URL,
3.4 enabled the IIOP stub generation in the JVM settings at oc4j startup, and finally
3.5 deployed the EAR using the generateIIOP flag.
The result: the exception I posted above
    4. Tried with IIOP/SSL, did these steps:
4.1 configured the keystore settings in both internal-settings.xml and ejb_sec.properties
4.2 and added <ior-security-config> config elements to orion-ejb-jar.xml.
The exception here is a little bit different:
    client started...

  • Deploy EJB: IIOP &MTS needed?

    Hi JDev Team!
Is it necessary to have an IIOP connection to the database if I4m not deploying my EJB in the d.b. but in my application server?
And, if so, the d.b. has to be configured in MTS mode?
    Thanks for all.

Hello! I'm totally new in JDev3.2 and EJB, could send me a little example of EJBs in JDev3.2. I've been working, but there were errors that I don't understand.
    Please!!
    My email is: [email protected]

  • IIOP connection from JDeveloper does not work

I'm trying to run some sample EJB programs but cannot connect to the IIOP port from JDeveloper. I have installed Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise on my machine, and it includes a listening location for IIOP on port 2481 under the listener. I can connect to JServer on this database from DBA Studio using various user/passwords, so the IIOP connection seems to work in principle.
But when I try to set up an IIOP connection from JDeveloper (v.3.1.1.2), the "Test" button fails to connect, but does not give any details on the reason for the error.
I have tried using the command line utility sess_sh, but this fails telling me the URL is invalid, even though it is exactly the same as the URL I connected to in DBA Studio.
Why can I connect from DBA Studio but not from JDeveloper, and can anyone tell me how to get this connection to work?
(It shouldn't be this hard to get a simple "Hello world" EJB to work!)
    Thanks,
    Chris

You must use Jdev 3.2.x to communicate with RDBMS 8.1.7.
Jdev 3.1.x.x is for RDBMS 8.1.6.

  • Huge apple fan, have thousands invested in stock and products. I'm deployed and I want to know a way to play my PS3 through the thunderbolt connector to HDMI? is there any software to support this?

I would like to start off by saying, that I'm a huge apple fan, even own 8 shares. I have everytihing apple, from multiple phones, two ipads, macbook air, macbook pro, time machine, and 2 apple tv's. So, I easliy have invested enough for a reponse. But, I'm really frustrated right now because I'm deployed and I would love nothing more than to be able to play my PS3 on my macbook pro. I know that this would be easily possible if mac devoted a week to a solution. Or maybe there is already software that would allow me to use my thunderbolt connection to HDMI to connect to my PS3. I have the hardware, all I need is a program that would reconize this. This would only help there sales, so I don't understand why you can't already do this. To be able to use your screen on your macbook pro as a TV for your game consoles would be a huge to boost sales. Please tell me if this is possible and what I need to do it? Or please tell me why this is not possible?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
What you want is Target Display mode. This mode is only supported in Late 2009 and Mid 2010 27-inch iMacs, and Mid 2011 or newer iMacs, but MacBooks Pro are not supported, so you cannot use your MacBook as a display for your PlayStation 4.
In the case of Late 2009 and Mid 2010 27-inch iMacs, there is an adapter called Kanex XD which allows you to use the iMac as a display for a Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are not supported. In other words, you need an external monitor for your PlayStation 4.

Configuring SLD in Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver '04 Sneak
After installing Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver '04, you might want to try it by deploying J2EE application, portal application, or etc using SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio. However, in order to deploy and run Web Dynpro application with Adaptive RFC, System Landscape Directory (SLD) must be configured.
    Assumption
    1.     SLD has not been configured
    2.     It is stopped
    3.     The OS is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition named ' sapnw2k3ent'
    4.     ABAP system is installed at ' sape50'
    Instruction Steps
    1.     Enter http://localhost:50000/sld with user ' admin' and password ' admin'<br/>
    2.     Enter Administration page by clicking at navigation bar<br/>
    3.     Enter Server Setting page<br/>
    4.     Fill your hostname, sapnw2k3ent, in Object Server field and click Set button in section Server Parameters<br/>
    5.     Go back to Administration page and start server
    6.     Enter Import page. Fill c:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\sld\model\cr_content.zip in File field.<br/>
    7.     Click on button ' Import CR Content from Server' and wait for a while. There are 25866 objects to be imported.
    8.     Enter Data Supplier Bridge page
    9.     Set Update local SLD to true, RFC Gateway server to sape50 and click on button ' Start Bridge'
    10.     Start Visual Administrator at C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\admin\go.bat
    11.     If this is the first time for Visual Administrator, you have to create new connection with port 50004<br/>
    12.     In Global Configuration -> Server -> Services -> Security Provider, set SynchPermissionsWithDatabase to true
    13.     Select Cluster -> J2E -> Server -> Services -> SLD Data Supplier
    14.     In Runtime tab page, select HTTP Settings tab page
    15.     Fill below information
    <tbody> Host     localhost
    Port     50000
    User     admin
    Password     admin</tbody>
    16.     Go back to Information tab page and click on trigger button
    17.     Close Visual Administrator
    18.     Go to Home -> Technical Landscape via web browser and choose Technical System Type as 'Web AS Java'

    Anajli

    Hi Anjali,
Generally it takes more than half an hour to  Import CR Content from Server.
If this fails, there should be network connectivity failure or some connectivity issue. I dont think there is any problem with portal or SLD.
As you say >>i got stopped at 7th step whre its asking me password ...
This clearly indicates there is a connectivity failure that asks for the password. Check whether you have set any time out option.
    Regards,
    venkat.

So we just got a new Macbook and I also installed the apple configurator tool. I'm using it to prepare the iPads for deployment and it won't let me prepare them? It gets an error stating "retrieving iOS info from apple" then it stops and says "internet error". My Internet connection is fine with the Mac-book. It shows the iPad is listed under the Prepare logo up top as 1 but under supervise none are shown. Although it does show itself in iTunes. Also the profile I created is fresh and has no errors. We have tryed nearly everything I cna think of and online forums are not giving us to much info on this error.

A wag at this.  A port issue?
    "Apple Push Notification network setup
When MDM servers and iOS devices are behind a firewall, some network configuration may need to take place in order for the MDM service to function properly. To send notifications from an MDM server to Apple Push Notification service, TCP port 2195 needs to be open. To reach the feedback service, TCP port 2196 will need to be open as well. For devices connecting to the push service over Wi-Fi, TCP port 5223 should
    be open."

Try it on your home network where there isn't a lot of 'controls' -- network filtering , firewalls, etc.
