Deployment API won't work remotely
Hi All,
I'm using WLS 9.2 SP2 and I'm trying to programmatically deploy a WAR to a remote server but I can't stop it from interpreting the File I present as a local file instead of it needing upload before processing. If I deploy to an admin server running locally it works fine every time.
Here's the snippet of what I'm doing:
WebLogicDeploymentManager dm = SessionHelper.getRemoteDeploymentManager(host, port, username, password);
DeploymentOptions options = new DeploymentOptions();
options.setStageMode(DeploymentOptions.STAGE);
options.setRemote(true);
dm.deploy(new TargetModuleID[]{targetModuleId}, applicationArchive, (File) null, options);I've tried dm.enableFileUploads(); as well but it produces the same result, the remote server tries to find the file that's local to my machine in reference to it's own local filesystem.
So far I've tried just about every combination of getRemoteDeploymentManager, enableFileUploads, setRemote(true) that I can think of and nothing seems to work.
I also tried using the version of deploy InputStream, this worked in that it streamed the file correctly to the server but when the server attempted to deploy the application it failed because it tried to deploy app1234 instead of app1234.war. It appears that it's chopping the filename off between upload and deploy then tripping over itself.
Has anyone else gotten this api to work at all? I know that weblogic.Deploy uses the same logic to deploy but I can't see what it's doing differently to deploy correctly to a remote server.
Cheers,
Lucas
I believe that setting remote=true is saying that the files are expected
to already be available on the admin server, so no upload is needed.
Have you tried it with setRemote(false)?
The documentation for setRemote
(http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/javadocs/weblogic/deploy/api/spi/DeploymentOptions.html#setRemote(boolean)):
"Indicates that the operation will be remote from the file system that
contains the source. This means the source for the operation is expected
to be at the specified location on the machine where the server is located."

XML Gallery won't work remotely - Action Script issues
I created an XML scrolling thumbnail gallery using a
tutorial
found here
I then had to alter the action script to get my thumbnails to
display properly -- they were spaced out or overlapping each other
and not in the sequence specified in the XML file. The new code
works great locally, but the thumbnails and larger image refuse to
load remotely in every browser i've tried. Any thoughts on how to
alter the action script to load the gallery?!?! I'm not much
experienced in Flash so any help would be most appreciated.
You can find the page with my unloadable gallery
here
You can see my action script in my
Flash
CS3 file
Thanks!
Joe.Hi --
I clicked on the link for your gallery and the images load??
Both when I
click on the image or when I click the "next" and "previous"
buttons --
although the "hit" area for the buttons is below the actual
text so you
should adjust that on those buttons. I would also recommend
not making the
text selectable so the cursor won't change to the "I bar"

Remote access to Time Capsule won't work
Over the past couple of months I've been doing lots of research and planning into replacing my Mac Pro and old MacBook Pro with a new Mac setup. I was looking for efficiency, productivity and ultimate portability so the Macbook Pro Retina and Time Capsule grabbed my attention.
I was interested in the MacBook Pro Retina for work (travel) and home leisure use. Due to having so much music and video iTunes content, I was interested in purchasing a Time Capsule and a secondary external hard drive, placing all my iTunes content on the Time Capsule which I would then back up to the external hard drive when I was at home. I would then setup Time Capsule to be accessible over the internet so that I could view my media content through iTunes wherever in the world I was (internet speeds permitting of course). By doing this I could carry only my work files with me on the 512GB SSD Macbook Pro Retina, but could access the Time Capsule media files remotely, either via wi-fi or by tethering my iPhone 5.
So I purchased a Time Capsule to test my theory. I followed online guidance on how to achieve such a setup and using my 2008 MacBook Pro (which runs Snow Leopard) and a friends internet connection I got the system to work. I was able to remotely contact Time Capsule and watch High Def video content via wireless internet and even tethered to my iPhone. So I went and purchased a Macbook Pro Retina (running Mountain Lion) and set about setting up the system in the same way. But this is where something's gone wrong. I can't connect to the Time Capsule over the internet at all.
The Air Port utility has been updated to version 6 which is lacking the ability to instruct the Time Capsule to "Allow access over WAN". I thought I'd make sure it still connected via the internet using my old MacBook Pro, which had definitely worked perfectly just a couple weeks earlier, and that won't work either. I can't find the option to "Allow access over WAN" within Airport Utility 5.6.1 either? And the simple apple script application that I wrote (following an online guide) to open the remote connection to Time Capsule with the double left click on an icon has stopped working too.
I don't pretend to be a network engineer and I'm no I.T. expert, though I usually manage to teach myself what I need to know to sort issues like this out, but this has gotten me really stumped! I tried downloading an old version of Airport Utility to see if that had the "Allow access over WAN" feature (within the 'Disks' > 'File Sharing' area of Airport Utility) but my Mac OS won't allow the old versions to run.
Perhaps the version of Airport Utility I used on my Macbook Pro a couple of weeks ago didn't have the "Allow access over WAN" check box either and I just didn't notice - which is likely unless Airport Utility updates itself in the background without any prompts etc. I certainly didn't notice a software update for it any time over the past few days. Either way, I don't understand how it could have been working a few days back and now it's suddenly not.
I used this guides to gain remote access to Time Capsule successfully just a couple of weeks ago:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIQ7SzA1cK4
Can anyone shed any light on the issue and point me toward a fix please? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks LaPastenague. I'm not sure if I have a static IP but I can confirm it hasn't changed in the past month.
I've pretty much come to the conclusion that what I want to do isn't really possible using Time Capsule. Like I mentioned, I had remote access working a couple of weeks ago but it seems like apple have updated the firmware or airport software to remove something that was necessary to remotely connect in the same way. And even if I did get it working I think it would still be so restrictive, requiring a fast wifi or mobile phone tethered connection to view my media files over the internet.
I got connected via iCloud and B.T.M.M. but the connection was very slow and video wouldn't stream well at all (painful). It seems that the speed constraints would make it very frustrating each time I simply wanted to look through my vast iTunes music collection or movie library. Album covers won't appear either.
Even if it were possible to connect via a static IP I just don't think that the WAN connection would be stable or fast enough to offer an efficint solution(?), so I'll probably have to by an external portable HD and use Time Capsule for Time Machine and Printer Sharing.
I wish I could stream my iTunes movies and music successfully over the internet, but right now it just doesn't seem possible. -
Javascript won't work - JavaScript for Reader Mobile API Reference (Android)
I have created a Form with the new Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (trial version).
The Javascript code just won't work on a mobile phone.
Doc - JavaScript for Reader Mobile API Reference (Android this shows that what I want to do is supported.
But not even the simplest command will work on my phone. (I am using Adobe Acrobat DC - PDF reader for Android)
Any suggestions of what I could be doing wrong?
Best,
MennoA Doc.getField() should work.. Try small steps: Create a document with two fields (e.g. Text1 and Text2), then create a custom calculation script for Text2 that uses the following code:
event.value = this.getField("Text1").value;
Does this copy the data you enter in Text1 to Text2?
Then, add a third field ("Text3") and a button with the following MouseUp JavaScript action:
this.getField("Text3").value = this.getField("Text1").value;
Does this work? It actually works for me. To save you some work, here is a link to the test file I've used: http://khkonsulting.com/files/AUC/AndroidTest.pdf -
Ipod Classic 80gb won´t work with apple universal dock and remote
I own 2 ipods a 5th generation 60gb and an ipod classic 60gb. I've just bought an apple universal dock with remote and the original apple component and composite AV cables. I connected the universal dock to my TV via the composite cable, with my ipod 5th gen I can watch videos on the TV and control the ipod with the apple remote but when I connect my ipod classic to the universal dock it will charge but I can´t get any video out or control the ipod with the remote. It's as if the ipod classic doesn't recognize the universal dock and it keeps showing the connect the video accessory screen, even when i tried using the apple component AV cable. I dont think the problem is with the universal dock because it works fine with my Ipod video 60gb, but with my Ipod Classic 80gb the remote control and video out won't work at all, i can´t even control the playback of audio playlists. Does anyone know why that is happenning? Please help me!
I have the Classic 80gb also...same probem. I retuned the Apple Universal Dock and purchased one that was half the price. Pluged it in and it works perfectly! So my advice would be to save some money and get products that work.

Remote Desktop Shortcuts won't work in FULLSCREEN mode
Hello,
I found lots of
shortcuts won’t work during remote desktop connection between Win7 64 host (home premium) to Win 7 64 guest (professional):
Include:
ALP+PAGE UP/PAGE DOWN
CTRL + ALT + ±
In order to make them work I need to exit full screen mode of remote desktop first (can be done with CTRL+ALT+BREAK)
Is there any fix?
BobHi,
Have you check the "Local Resources" under Remote Desktop Connection "properties",? just as screen shot below:
You can also test this issue with On-screen keyboard, check if issue persists.

Apple Remote won't work with Logic
I bought a new iMac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) and the Apple Remote won't work with Logic 8. It worked fine on my MacBook Pro.
jazzmaniac, I did something by holding down two buttons on the remote for a few seconds. I guess that is called registering. But when I try to play a song file in Logic, Front Row pops up instead.
I've searched the Internet and am finding little on this topic. -
Helpdesk at work is helpless. My citirx connection to access work remotely connects fine, but when I try to login further it says that my browseer doesn't have Cocoa Java Plug-in. I've updated the software and have downloaded the update for Safari 10.6. But it stops. It also asks if JVM 1.4.1 or later is installed. I've updated that too.
You don't have a Mac Pro (*65lb tower) but a notebook.

Remote won't work when my Sharp Aquos TV is on.
Okay, so this is a bizarre problem and I'm not sure if my 17" MacBook Pro, my Apple Remote or my Sharp Aquos TV is to blame, but basically I can't control my computer with the remote once I turn on the TV. It took me forever, but I just figured out that it works fine every time the TV is off, but as soon as the TV is on, the computer refuses to respond to any signals from the remote control, so the TV appears to be the culprit. Anyone out there have any idea what's happening? Even better, know of a workaround? I'm currently using my laptop to play movies that I've rented off the iTunes store on my TV, and it's annoying to not have a working remote.
One more thing, the remote is paired to my computer. Could that be causing issues? I'm not sure exactly how the pairing works, but perhaps the TV is causing interference for the pairing?Success!
Okay, so for anyone having this issue, the problem is the brightness sensor on the Sharp Aquos TV (could be an issue with other TVs that have brightness sensors as well, don't know). If you disable the brightness sensor (called "OPC" at the top of the Picture menu), then the Apple remote should work fine. Very strange. Glad I figured it out though. Hopefully this thread can help out someone else with the same problem. -
Client Deployment (Connect) won't download serverinfo.xml files
I have recently upgraded a client from SBS2003 to Server Essentials 2012 R2. I have managed to work through most of the hiccups but the one thing I can't do is get the "Client Deployment" software (connect) to work.
I have a working server at home that was from a SBS2011 migration and I have built a vanilla 2012R2 machine to compare and settings and permissions.
I have run Robert's checking script and everything gets a 'green' ok.
The clocks are all in sync as I have configured the Domain controller as an NTP server.
There are no certificate errors that I can see.
When I go to http://servername/Connect I can download the ClientConnector.exe program okay and the logs are clear.
Its the next setp that fails. When the ClientDeploy.exe tries to run it cannot find the setup.cab file and it won't populate the "ClientDeploymentTempFiles" directory with the necessary .cab and .xml files and so nothing happens after that.

Any help would be appreciated.
PaulHi Paul,
Would you please let us know current situation of this issue?
Just confirm some more information. Thanks for your understanding.
1. Would you please let me confirm whether this issue just occurred in one client computer? Or occurred in all client computer which want to connect with the Windows Server
2012 R2 Essentials via Connector software?
2. Please check if ping the server successfully from the problematic client computer by using IP address and server name.
3. Did you install any third-party security software on the client computer and server? Please temporarily disable firewall and security software, then monitor the result.
4.
àFailed to download Setup.cab from server
Just a confirmation. On the problematic client computer, please follow the path: C:\Windows\Temp and check
if ClientDeploymentTempFiles folder exists.
By the way, please run
sfc /scannow command to scan all protected system files on the server. Any find?
If anything I misunderstand or any update, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Hope this helps.

In Oats Drag and Drop Api is not working in Firefox Browser
To Write OAts test for Drag and Drop functionality
we are using "dragTo" API.
Ex :
web.image("/web:window[@index='0' or @title='Fusion Applications']/web:document[@index='0' or @name='aqizmnwha_1']/web:img[@absoluteLocator='" + sourceIndex + "']")
.dragTo("/web:window[@index='0' or @title='Fusion Applications']/web:document[@index='0' or @name='aqizmnwha_1']/web:img[@absoluteLocator='" + targetIndex + "']");
This Api is not working in firfox.(works in IE browser).
Is there any other way we can test DnD functionality in firefox and IE?
Thanks in Advance!
Thanks,
SiddiPlease read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

External Optical Speakers won't work on my G5
I have a Power Mac G5 running Tiger 10.4.11 and Logictech 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound Speakers. I had them setup with this system a few years ago and then upgraded to leopard and compatibility was fine. My HDD recently died and I lost my leopard disc so now I'm back to Tiger since that's what the backup discs are. Now that I got a new HDD and loaded the software the speakers won't work. The speakers themselves are fine. I can use the remote to test each speaker which sends pink noise to each one. That proves the connections are fine and the speakers aren't bad. I checked the connection to the optical port in the back of the tower and it is lit up red so that's good. I tested the speakers playing music and playing a DVD and neither worked so it's something to do with the computer not recognizing them. Headphones work just fine with it. In the Sound pane under Digital Out it says "The selected device has no output controls". According to the help tutorial it says I should see the speaker in the System Profiler, which I don't, but it doesn't go further into 'if you don't see them'. Anyone know other options I can try?

I have a macbook pro retina which doesn's have an optical drive. I have bought an optical drive. When I plug it in and put a disk in I can hear the disk spinning and the light comes on but nothing happens on my mac. It doesn't seem to recognise it. Any suggestions?
Just had that happen to me.
First, run Disk Utility and see if the SuperDrive (it is an Apple SuperDrive isn't it?) is listed. Is the disk you inserted shown? If not, hold down the option key and click the Apple menu - choose System Information and when that shows up, choose USB. See if it's listed there. If it is but neither the drive nor the disk you inserted appears on the Desktop, the side bar of the Finder window, or Disk Utility, return it for a refund (if it's within 14 days of purchase) or a replacement. That's what I had to do a few hours ago and the replacement works as it should.
BTW, if you want the disk you inserted back, and pressing the trackpad as you reboot doesn't eject the disk, as a last resort run Terminal and enter (copy and paste the following)
/usr/bin/drutil eject
to try to force the disk to eject. It probably won't work (it didn't for me) but if it does, at least you get that disk back. -
I am using a Blackmagic card and have updated the codecs - I did a chat with Adobe and they remotely controlled my computer and still couldn't get it to work. The monitor works fine with Final Cut but won't work with Premier CC. Help.
Hmmm ... not sure where to even start, you didn't include enough details really ...
For starters ... OS/version, which CC build you're running, some things like that? Around here this is a puzzle-out space with most of participants being "peers" in being users and not Adobe staff. Some staff post here on their own time, and are a great help. But so are many of the regular joe's and joeleen's who inhabit this space.
Not thrilled that Adobe chat & help folks couldn't find the issue, but we'll see if someone around here will take on the challenge ...

Application Restart and Recovery APIs doesn't work for windows services
I am using the Application Restart and Recovery mechanism (provided in Windows API Code Pack for Microsoft.NET Framework) to collect some information (i.e. stack information when there's an unhandledexception) before my windows service crash down.
It works well for windows form applications, but the callback method wouldn't be called if the host is a windows service.
I have checked the article: https://msdn.microsoft.com/zh-cn/subscriptions/downloads/cc303708
But it doesn't specify clearly whether it works for a windows service. It seems that the recovery will only be activated when the user interacts with the error dialog of Windows Error Reporting (clicking "close" on the dialog, for example).
So I am wondering is my guess right that the Application Restart and Recovery mechanism doesn't work for windows services. Or is there a better way to meet my requirement?I would suggest trying ARR if that's what you want to use. The restart portion won't work, but it doesn't need to as if you fail out of your service, the Windows service controller will handle recovery (up to and including restarting your service).
You configure those recovery actions either through code or one of the built in administrative tools for services such as services.msc.
DebugDiag/ADplus and similar tools ultimately do use built-in APIs; you don't need to add anything external to collect debugging information. You do however have to write a good deal of code to do somethings. It's pretty simple to use the unmanaged
function that I pointed out before and
MiniDumpWriteDump to write a minidump when you hit an unexpected error(the dbghelp.dll that comes installed with Windows has it so you don't need anything additional installed). You can even write a basic debugger that literally debugs a process using
only kernel32 functions (see
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms679301(v=vs.85).aspx if you're interested).
